Squeezing in that last bit of Christmas couture
Noel Fitzpatrick reading the poem “Just a dog”.
From time to time, people tell me, “lighten up, it’s just a dog,” or “that’s a lot of money for just a dog.” They don’t understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for “just a dog.”
Some of my proudest moments have come about with “just a dog.” Many hours have passed and my only company was “just a dog,” but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by “just a dog,” and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of “just a dog” gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it’s “just a dog,” then you will probably understand phrases like “just a friend,” “just a sunrise,” or “just a promise.”
“Just a dog” brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure and unbridled joy.
“Just a dog” brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.
Because of “just a dog,” I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it’s not “just a dog” but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
I hope that someday they can understand that it’s not “just a dog,” but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being “just a woman.” So the next time you hear the phrase “just a dog,” just smile–because they “just don’t understand.”

Custom Order of a beautiful doggo.
I don’t generally post “personal” stuff here, but today is an exception. It’s been one year since I looked into the loving eyes of my sweet old girl and I still miss her everyday. I still have your tennis balls and we’ll play again Josie Jo. ❤️💔❤️
Love when she snuggles with me, especially when I feel like 💩
Does anyone else suffer separation anxiety if their pet disappears off to wonder around the house ?? I mean, when my dog is downstairs for more than 10 mins and I’m just sitting in bed like…
Me: My dog is such a beautiful creature. So graceful. So majestic. He is the embodiment of strength and beauty. I love this animal and I would die for him.
My dog: *rubs his nose all over my shirt and sneezes in my face*
So, I live in a house with 5 dogs and a cat(with plenty of other people), and everybody says that they don’t trust the oldest dog with food. Now, she inhales things whether big or small, soft or hard, and she is the biggest beggar ever. So when I said that she is the only animal in the house I trust with my food, everybody laughed at me, which is understandable since I was saying that with her on my lap trying to get on the table to get to my plate. I told them that I trust to leave her alone with my food for up to a minute, and I trust that it will all still be there when I get back. So we did a test, I left my plate on the table(and her in my chair) and then walked out(before I even left the room she was edging towards my plate). I stayed out for a few seconds, then came back in, to everyone’s surprise, she didn’t touch my plate. Then someone said that I didn’t have enough food there to be tempting, so I loaded my plate again and placed it back in front of her, before leaving, once again she didn’t touch my food.
My whole household is in shock right now because the biggest pig in the house won’t even go close to my food unless I’m around.
Dogs are good people.
