“Cut and painted goose egg decorated chess set with rhinestones and a lady cameo. Inside is a dollhouse-sized chess set. A simple design without even figural knights. It could be a Muslim set for its lack of representation, and actually resembles some Turkish ivory Muslim sets in shape.”

Made a chair! It was entirely inspired by and improvised around a sturdy frozen food box.
I initially thought I would make the fabric cover look like a loose slipcover, but I didn't have any fabric that seemed right for that, so I dove into something more structured. If I had known I was going to do this from the start, I wouldn't've glued down the foam for the seat, and would have covered it separately. I mean, yeah, I probably could have pulled it off of the cardboard, but...that was more thought than I wanted to put into this project.
The seat height is a little tall, and I probably could have fixed that, but, again: work. This was never meant to be refined.

Please excuse it's overall messy look, but I made this trundle bed a little bit ago and completely forgot to show you guys! I used MyFroggyStuff's tutorial for an 18 inch doll trundle bed and made it completely out of cardboard and old flat sheets. I made the mattresses and bedding, and added the little plush pillows. The little crocheted blanket is thrifted, so I can't exactly tell you where it's from. I wanted to test out my ability to make handmade doll furniture just in case I have the room for an 18 inch doll house when I move, and I'm pretty happy with how this turned out!

I made a couch!
The underside? Ugly. But who cares, the rest looks fine!
Perfect size for Winx club dolls, aka around 1/7
Once upon a time,I was a big,I mean HUGE fan of winx club. If I think about it, it's with them that I stopped being obsessed with barbie, and branched into other kinds of dolls. As a kid I collected them one at a time (thankfully I had a one character one doll rule even back then) but never found Tecna. I played with them a lot ,but in general took care of my toys so they're still in good shape
Today I made the couch on a whim...There's enough room left for her though, when and if I ever manage to get her
Edit: I GOT TECNA . Six of them together now!!

I picked up this cute doll table set on eBay. They said it was a table and 3 chairs, but the 4th chair was included!
My friend has this set and I admired it, but it seems to be pricey when I find one. I was delighted with the deal!
And as cute as the paint job is, I have something else in mind.
To be fair, I realized too late that I ought to have used a primer, but I don't mind adding layers. Here is the first coat.
Second coat.
Third.
Maybe one more coat?
Then, I'm going to add white spots to make it a toadstool-themed set!
I'm going to make the table look like a mushroom for sure, but I might just paint little 'shrooms on the backs and seats of the chairs.
Or maybe I'll make little upholstered seats out of polka-dot fabric.
Gotta wait for the paint to dry.

Some interesting finds I picked up at my favorite thrift store recently! Molly's school desk in the middle, and on each end two of what I think are Samantha's school desk. I'm not sure about those two because the color isn't quite right--Samantha's desk should be made with darker colored wood. So either that changed at some point and lighter wood began to be used, or these are very convincing knockoffs. I can't find any Pleasant Company or American Girl stamps on either one. (Knockoffs of AG furniture are definitely out there--I own a couple of pieces).
Molly's desk is stamped "P.C." on the underside of the metal part of the chair, so that's genuine. It's missing the hinged top, but that should be easy to make a replacement.

My ultimate Doll Collection Goal (TM) is to have all of my AG Historical dolls' trunks to store all their things in and display them on. Unfortunately, their trunks tend to be rather expensive nowadays, so this is slow-going.
Especially when it comes to Addy and Josefina's trunks. Those babies go for several hundred dollars on the second-hand market these days, probably because they're harder to come by and also solid wood. I mentioned this to my mother a few weeks back and then, last week, she comes to me and says she found this Facebook Market listing that says it's Addy's trunk. I took a look, but I figured there's no way, it's just a regular wooden trunk someone misidentified. Or one of the more common AG trunks. My mother doesn't know much about AG, so she doesn't know what she's looking at, surely. And anyhow, even if it is Addy's trunk, it's probably two hundred dollars.
Reader, it was Addy's trunk. And it was beaten up and missing a part or two, so it was a steal. So we wasted no time in going to pick it up and then I had a grand old time sorting Addy's things and putting them in their rightful place.
Unfortunately, I don't have the room at the moment to stand Addy on her trunk like I do for Kit, Ruthie, Molly, and Emily, but...hopefully some day. Until then, her trunk fits very helpfully under my bed.
So, there we are. One step closer to the doll display of my dreams.
