“I was fourteen, I think… Are we counting girls too?” “I’ve never been with a girl, so that’s a none for me.” “Shit, you knew from the get go?” “No, I was too shy to open my mouth.” As they’re apparently turning into fucking 14-year-olds, this comment has them laughing like idiots and Xingchen decides this requires pen and paper, grabbing his satchel and getting a notepad and pencil out, drawing two columns while Xue Yang is all but wheezing and Xingchen glares at him. “I meant talking and you know it!” “Sure, sure. Talking, of course…” “All you think of is sex!” “Lies and slander! I think of candy and hair and metal too.”

Funny thing I noticed from reading through many SongXueXiao fanfiction:
- SL is often depicted as not enjoying being touched
- XY as major trust issue, but SL and XXC have/are slowly getting it
- XXC is often the mediator, helps balance out XY and SL
- Lotta kinky pwp, leading to
- XXC often seems to give direction in bed when SL and XY fuck, but never really does much for himself physically.
- SL and XY relationship is often “This isn’t quite love, but I don’t hate you anymore either, there is something, just working on it”
- SL has either misophobia or seem like he want thing to be neat and clean
- XY doesn’t believe he can be love despite both SL and XXC trying to show him he is loved by them
- In anything kinky, XXC is a the dom (and now I cannot really see him as a sub :') ) while XY is pretty much always a sub. SL switches depending on the story (although he often follow in XXC path, but never dom XXC either)
- Not a majority, but shout out to ace sl, the one portrayed in the [Modern Yi City 4-clover of Domestic Disgustoids] serie is just so great I love it.

What's it about? The Yi City gang, mental health, family, BDSM, polyamory, sexuality, trauma, comfort, emotional baggage, domesticity, chronic pain, homelessness, social anxiety. Love.
Every update is soothing and ends up feeling very wholesome, even when it addresses complicated or uncomfortable subjects, because so much of this series is focused on conversations around consent and boundaries.
Read it if you want something that will make your heart feel nice and full, if you appreciate a focus on respectful relationship discussions, and if you agree that the Yi City characters deserve happiness.
Ratings vary but some entries are explicit. As always mind the tags and be aware of potential triggers if applicable.

Xue Yang almost starts laughing, because how typical of him, not using his brain and shove something down before getting home. It is laughable, at least until he sees his left hand where the prostethic glove is teared and an ugly wound grins at him across the stump and his knuckles. "No... Fuck, fuck, fuck no!"

"You look hot." He blushes when the lie leaves him and Zichen hates himself for the way A-Jun so clearly believes it, hates himself for lying even if the truth would be worse. I wish I was enough for you, like you said two months ago. Maybe that time it really was Zichen's fault, because A-Jun didn't listen. Still doesn't.

“Er-Gege?” “Yes?” “What would you say if… uhm… I was asked out on a date?” “Boy or girl?” “Boy…” “No.” “What if it had been a girl?” “Still no. But Song-Er-Gege will be home soon. Why don’t you ask him, baby?”

If any of my lovely, amazing, just rays of sun in human-shaped form readers of any of my ongoing fics are wondering, I just want to say that I’m in a period of weariness right now, having had a bit extra to deal with for a couple of weeks, hence my inspo hasn’t been what I want it to be. So, if you happen to be one of my awesome readers of  “Cold War”, “Candied Apple Of My Eye”, “Nourishment For A Hungry Heart”, “Modern Yi City 4-clover of Domestic Disgustoids” or “Someone Save Xie’Er”, I just want to tell you how much I love your comments, encouragement and just absolutely smashing support and tell you that: - since I’m autistic and often hyperfixate on one thing, it’s a reoccuring thing for me to seemingly “forget” a story/series I’m not currently happily drowning in - sometimes answering comments requires “comment answering inspo” and it doesn’t always align with writing inspo - my spouse has been ill - nothing serious at all and they’re fine now! - for a while and that has meant I’ve had to take on more things to do at home and running all the errends during a few weeks, which has lead to a decrease of energy for my autistic brain - I’ve just started work again after my vacation and while I’m lucky enough to actually love my work, it’s also quite heavy and requires a lot of my energy and I’m surely not the only one to get a bit of start-up-after-vacation soreness (mine is both mental and physical) before getting used to the every-day-routine again So while it’s probably not even necessary and surely not required to give anyone who didn’t ask for it a litany of reasons as to why a fanfic writer isn’t currently up to date the way they would like to be, telling you this still makes my autistic brain feel more at ease, which hopefully leads to my writing/reading/comment inspo returning quicker.  All the love!

Xue Yang, despite all his flaws that often unexpectedly crash with Zichen’s comfort and habits, only ever targets someone who he thinks is an actual threat to his own safety and so very often, he turns his fear into a mission of self-destruction because as Xingchen once explained: their A-Yang is a lot more used to being a target than a beloved partner. As good as it feels to not having a jealous person around, convinced that Xingchen is a price for the winner in a stupid little war, it’s not easy to handle someone who’s so afraid of being left, he rather leaves on his own even if he doesn’t want to, only to avoid being the one abandoned.

He can’t recall seeing Xingchen doing this with Zichen in his presence. They kiss, cuddle and are generally disgusting and cute with each other, but he’s never seen Zichen in Xingchen’s arms quite like this – or the other way around. Long hugs, arms around shoulders, hand holding, heads nuzzling onto chests, sure, but never has any of them been seated in the other one’s lap when Xue Yang was looking. When Xingchen wraps the blanket a little tighter around them, arms like a firm armour, pressing close but not uncomfortably so, Xue Yang’s body decides it doesn’t really give a shit about what he did or didn’t sign up for, because there’s a mutiny going on here, where it seems like every little cell in him has decided on giving him the finger and just enjoy this. It feels really sweet. Fucking unacceptable.

“A-Yang, please get her something dry to wear.” The man nods but doesn’t say anything and the gege in white lifts up A-Qing to sit on a chair. The one who was shopping looks steadily at her, but not unkind. More concerned. “Where do you live, mei mei?” “Other side of town.” “Do you have family there?” A-Qing shrugs but then remembers she’s very small and still cold and hungry, so she lets her lower lip tremble and looks at the dinner table where there is still a lot of chicken soup and how is it fair that there’s a whole basket of bread rolls on the table? A-Qing looks at the three men, none of them is fat, quite the opposite, but they certainly will be if they eat all of this.

He looks so pretty and just fine and precious, Zichen feels as if the white blindfold, whenever it goes on, will kind of crowning the masterpiece. To know what an absolutely filthy mind there is behind it all, is fucking marvelous. Xue Yang, on the other hand, is almost like a dark and hesistant reflektion of him. A wild thing you can only tame with honest tenderness, Zichen can’t help but thinking, because unlike the last time when everything went wrong, Xue Yang doesn’t look like he’s starting off somewhere safe, unprepared to be pushed off into thin air. He looks on edge, his muscle memory on alert, recalling what happened last time Zichen was with them like this.

One of many, very sore spots on Xue Yang’s shoulders. Zichen realises he’ll have to take this stress off in layers. There’s just too much of it to release in one setting and he doesn’t want to make Xue Yang feel that out of control. The sight of him staring blank and lost into nothing, terrified and isolated is a memory that still gives Zichen nightmares. He doesn’t really want to know more about how Xue Yang felt. What little Zichen saw was more than enough to make one thing perfectly clear: too many people have treated his boyfriend really shitty and Zichen isn’t good at knowing about these things when he can’t make the assholes pay for hurting someone he loves. Because, even if all three of them have their issues and problems to deal with, it’s just painfully obvious how used Xue Yang is to expect abuse. That’s why Zichen doesn’t really count on an answer when he kneads into a thin, uneven and almost invisible scar leeping from Xue Yang’s right shoulder down all the way to his waist. “How did you get this scar?” “A wire.”

At first, Zichen simply thought Xue Yang was kind of shallow. It didn’t matter to him, really, since he was Xingchen’s boyfriend, not his, and it’s become painfully clear just how little they have in common when it comes to hobbies and life experiences. Zichen is a straight A student, Xue Yang a flunker. Zichen is tidy and clean to the extreme, Xue Yang miscolors his laundry, leaves candy wrappers everywhere and has never worn a suit in his life. Zichen eats healthily, listens rather than talks, goes to bed early and handles stress with workouts and meditation. Xue Yang either lives on takeaways and candies or forget to eat, chatters on like he’s paid by the syllible and his routines are as out of order as his stress levels. The amount of awkward moments between them, mostly innocently instigated by Zichen, are many and Xue Yang’s reactions whenever he feels like he’s not up to Xingchen’s standards, honestly pretty childish. Weirdly, as with the BDSM session going wrong, it also seems like it’s the bad collisions that bring them closer. As with the leftovers.

There’s no hidden expectation in the smile, or the shiny eyes. Yes, Xingchen’s eyes are shiny, bright and just so… beautiful. Zichen, of course, wouldn’t dream of telling him. He already feels like he’s sliding over dark ice whenever Xingchen is looking at him and Zichen just keeps talking about birds like a parody on a nerd who can’t talk to girls. In fact, Zichen doesn’t have any problem talking to girls. It’s men that makes his tongue turn into lead and especially one as breath taking as Xingchen.

Usually, she’s careful and patient, but today is her first day of freedom (again) and she’s hungry and angry and it doesn’t make it better when she sees another man with long hair walking up to the other one, showing a box of chocolate that has him smiling and whispering something, getting the most disgusting blush as the other guy just looks like some stupid statue – with long hair! This is just not acceptable and A-Qing is determined to correct this wrong. In other words: following these two idiots around until she can get her hands on something.

Forcing himself to enter their garden and then their frontdoor without showing any worry, is a thing Xue Yang has taught him because it doesn’t alert Xingchen’s already peaked anxiety. Because oh yes, it’s peaked. In their kitchen, more or less every surface available is filled with bread, muffins and scones but apart from sprinkles of flower here and there, it’s spotless. He can smell the cleaning soap, the laundry powder and from the livingroom he can hear Xue Yang talking in an unusually calm voice, completely sans edges and teasing, and how Xingchen answers him fast, too fast and too long and fuck, he’s absolutely panicked. “…and then I thought about the recipe my grandmother used to make and my aunt tried to do it plenty of times but didn’t get the texture quite right, so I thought, maybe it’s because of the cornflour! You know how cornflour is gluten-free, right?” “Uh-huh.” “And so this recipe…” Oh, fuck.
