Ohhh Question 30 of that ask game is super interesting, the one about *home*! And because it's a hard one (I think) I'll ask a second easier one: Question 7, the one about colours ;)

30. what reminds you of home (doesn’t have to mean house… just things that remind you of the feeling of home)?

See the main thing I need to feel home somewhere is my own self, and the feeling of control and (some) familiarity. Having the house keys, hotel room card, that kind of thing; knowing where stuff is, knowing which switch turns on which light. So I can (and do) feel at home easily and quickly. I don't need any specific item to have that feeling. It isn't a smell, either, because my nose is frankly shit (I can barely smell anything). And while I'd love to say "my wife", we are romantic in many other ways but this isn't one of them. Home is not in another person outside of myself, for me. Home is me, in a place I have control over and know my way around.

Also, home is where the Dom is: in a larger sense, I feel at home in Cologne, because of how the people are here: friendly, open, hätzlisch (herzlich), welcoming. So seeing the Domspitzen is something that reminds me of that. Back in the town I was born in, it was the chimneys of the Volkswagen factory across the Autobahn, so the Dom is definitely a step up from that! :D

And bonus: 7. what color brings you peace?

See I find that more difficult to answer, because while I like several colors, I don't really associate any of them with emotions? 😅 Blue, maybe?
