march 2020 version

hi so i found my old ‘top ten ships’ list i did about a year ago and thought i should do an updated version with a few questions i saw some other people on tumblr answer.

just a quick note, some of these ships are my otps and others i just like right now. these rankings change all the time so this is not official, just what i can come up with right now.

finally, this could be a very long post so if you’re not into that, don’t be afraid to click off.

1. do you remember the episode/scence/chapter that you first started shipping 6?

i think it was zatanna’s first episode where she meets the team in young justice (s1 ep15). the episode that really made me ship them was the first halloween episode (s1 ep18).

2. have you ever read a fan fiction about 2?

i have read ALL the fanfiction for amy & laurie. ALL OF IT.

3. has a picture of 4 ever been your screen saver/profile picture/tumblr avatar?

sadly, no because they only have one piece of fan art and i can’t fit it into an avatar size.

4. if 7 were to suddenly break up today, what would your reaction be?

i would go into hibernation and hope to never wake up. i could not live life knowing regina & aleksander were not together anymore.

5. why is 1 so important?

percy & annabeth are the greatest couple PERIODT. they have always respected each other even when they were young and had a ‘rivalry’, they love each other SO MUCH. they are both willing to jump off a cliff into the most terrifying land known in history for each other and want their last words to be them telling each other they love one another.

6. is 9 a funny ship or serious ship?

i started shipping theon & sansa during ramsay’s episodes so, in my eyes, they are a serious ship.

7. out of all of your ships listed, which ship has the most chemistry?

i want to say all of them but i had to narrow it down (which is the closest to picking one as i will get) i would have to say percy & annabeth, amy & laurie, regina & aleksander, jonathan & nancy, and miranda & sherman. i just chose half of my ships but that’s ok.

8. out of all of the ships, which ship has the strongest bond?

either regina/aleksander, percy/annabeth or amy/laurie.

9. how many times have you read/watched 10′s fandom?

i’ve watched deadpool 2 at least 1500 times

10. which ship has lasted the longest?

technically amy & laurie have lasted the longest if you count the creation of their characters, but i’m going to give this one to regina & aleksander because they’ve been married for around twenty years!!!

11. how many times, if ever, has 6 broken up?

snaibsel isn’t canon so they haven’t broken up yeehaw a win for the gays

12. if the world was suddenly thrust into a zombie apocalypse, which ship would make it out alive, 2 or 8?

i think amy would probably be able to murder some zombies and would just drag a swooning laurie around after her but based on the content i have i would have to go with nancy and jonathan, though i would love to read about zombie killer amy.

13. is 4 still together?

yes!!! my babies are going strong!!

14. is 10 canon?

yes they are and they are in love!!!

15. if all ten ships were put into a couple’s hunger games, which couple would win?

it’s either traci & cissie, zatanna & artemis, percy & annabeth, or ellie & yukio.

16. has anybody ever tried to sabotage 5′s ship?

nope cause they’re not canon but if anyone tried they would lose a few limbs.

17. which ship would you defend to the death and beyond?

going off my daily routine i would have to say amy/laurie.

18. do you spend hours a day going through 3′s tumblr page?

i’ve only seen around three posts on them so i spend hours staring at them.

19. if an evil witch descended from the sky and told you that you had to pick one of the ten ships to break up forever or else she’d break them all up forever, which ship would you sink?

i hate myself so much but i’d have to go with theon & sansa since, and i hate to say it, my baby boy theon has kinda d worded.

a decade of self recs

i’d like to invite anyone who wants to to participate in this exercise along with me!

this is a self rec and a reflection on a fic from each year of the decade

fandoms include: percy jackson, adventure time, a song of ice and fire, girl meets world, gravity falls, young justice, the flash, my hero academia, the mcu, and the handmaid’s tale.

2010: I didn’t even know what fanfiction was! oh my gosh i was a baby!

2011:

I Won’t Ever Leave You Alone

Fandom: Percy Jackson

Pairings: Percy/Annabeth

Summary: What happens when Percy's sent to the Roman Camp and flat out does not want to remember his past? Can it have a happy ending? It's my first fan fiction and I hope you enjoy.

A.N: This WAS the first fanfiction that I ever wrote. It was bad. It’s STILL bad. however... if I didn’t ever write this one, then I never would have gotten less bad. That’s important!

2012:

The Ice Prince

Fandom: Adventure Time

Summary: "Some say the world will end in fire, some say in ice" Robert Frost. The lonely ice prince wonders a frozen wasteland of his own creation, searching for companionship he will never be fortunate enough to find, with only vague recollections and half memories as comfort. Drabble Ice Prince!Finn

A.N: this fic is actually shorter than the author’s note I wrote for it, but... I’m not going to lie. The atmosphere work is really great and the wording flows really nicely. I’m proud of this little piece. I think out of everything that I wrote that year, it shows my potential the best.

2013:

Hot Chocolate Heals All Wounds

Fandom: Percy Jackson

Pairings: Reyna/Annabeth and past Percy/Annabeth

Summary: Moving on is never easy, but with hot chocolate, love, laughter and Reyna by her side, Annabeth might just manage.

A.N: 2013 was where I really started to take off as a fic writer. I improved drastically over the course of the year, but I still think that this fic that I wrote during the summer is the closest to my heart. It’s the first of my “ladies getting over trauma together and falling in love” genre.

It’s not as good as I remember it being, and oh lordy. the smut.. the smut is bad. But there’s a lot of potential here, and I can still look back on it fondly.

2014:

The River Rushes On

Fandom: A Song of Ice and Fire

Pairings: Catelyn/Cersei

Summary: The official reason that she is sent to Riverrun is so that she can learn to be a proper lady alongside Hoster’s daughters. The unofficial reason, of course, is that Tywin found his golden twins having sex.

Or, the one where all good things end, but life continues.

A.N: I had a bit of debate going between this one and a sansaery fic that I wrote that year, but I decided that this HAD to be the choice. Catelyn/Cersei is a pairing that I came to on my own, but I ended up really loving because of the friends I made through the pairing. While this might not have been might best writing of the year, I feel like it was a formative enough experience that it overrides that.

2015:

Caged

Fandom: A Song of Ice and Fire

Pairings: Sansa/Margaery

Summary: In an alternate universe where many of the members of the Westerosi elite are magical creatures, the Lannisters seal Sansa Stark's wolf form deep within her. Margaery Tyrell vows to break the spell.

A.N: this is where we get into fics that I might actually recommend to someone. This one was one of the last fics that I wrote during high school, and it was inspired by our class reading of Macbeth and the emotional turmoil of getting ready to head off to college. There’s still some stuff I’m REALLY proud of in there. The spell ingredient “blood of a lover, willingly drawn” is still fantastic, the dream is still chilling, and I honestly sometimes think of adapting this premise into an original story.

Fandoms: Young Justice

Pairings: Artemis/Zatanna

Summary: Wally is dead, but Artemis isn't. She's trying to learn how to deal with that.Featuring: Bart Allen, product placement Netflix isn't paying me for, blatant symbolism, and snaibsel sweaters.

A.N: 2016 was a REALLY hard one. I wanted to put like, 3 star wars rebels fics, but i’m holding myself to my one fic per year policy, and if it’s one fic for year... then it has to be over the shadowy hills.

one of my other friends helped me work this into a fic that i could be really proud of, and it’s the better version of the same fic type as “hot chocolate heals all wounds” from a couple years earlier. i’m still really pleased with the way that this one panned out and i couldn’t leave it out of a best list,

the honorable mentions: you were someone, once the winter soldiered! ezra fic that helped me become friends with @bodhimcbodeface, the ketbine soulmate au where sabine drew dicks all over her face, and then there’s the mirialan!ezra au.

2017:

you, me, and the flash makes three

Fandom: The Flash

Pairings: Cisco/Iris, eventual Cisco/Barry/Iris

Summary: When Barry Allen wakes up from his coma, he finds out that Iris is dating Cisco. He tries really hard to dislike the guy, but Cisco makes it really hard. He's a likable dude.Things get more complicated from there.

A.N: i have a few others that i would have liked to put for this year, but i saw “you me and the flash makes three” and then i was like. well shit. i can’t pick anything else. this fic is a little under 15k and it’s really one of my favorite things that i’ve ever written. it’s a little cheesy and at parts feels a little clunky, but i think that the way that i was able to hit the most important emotional beats for season one of the flash and flesh out all the relationships within an ot3 outweigh that.

honorable mentions are: how to fall in love with your mark, the bluepulse fic where bart allen realizes that he can’t kill jaime reyes and

mantis prays to oregon, the guardians of the galaxy vol. 2 fic where mantis is ego’s biological child, but that somehow makes everything worse

2018:

Ad Astra Per Aspera

Fandom: My Hero Academia

Pairings: Ochako/Bakugo

Summary: Ochako sees none of herself in Bakugo’s pure rage, her sheer confidence. Bakugo holds up an enormous middle finger to the world and says come and get it. She’s harsh. She’s loud. She’s angry. She doesn’t say what’s on her mind; she shouts it.If she’s being completely honest, Ochako is a bit in awe with her.People might not like her, but they take her seriously. Bakugo grabs them by the throats, pulls them in and says “I am woman, hear me roar."

Sequel to "knights in shining armor"

A.N: 2018 was the year that I embraced the gender bend and started writing bildungsromans that deal with coming of age and trying to puzzle out wtf being a person and gender even are. I’m really pleased with all of them, but this is my favorite. Partially because I think it’s the most well-written, partially because I like the motifs the best, but mainly because it taught me a lot about myself and my writing.

Also it accidentally got me to ship kacchako, which is something I appreciate.

2019:

Paint a New Horizon

Fandoms: A Song of Ice and Fire

Pairings: Sansa/Margaery and abusive Sansa/Joffrey

Summary: Sansa is a painter. The moment that she meets Joffrey he becomes her muse. After they get married she starts to see his true colors unfold in front of her and she loses her passion. Then she meets Margaery. Her presence changes everything, and reignites a passion for painting and for life that Sansa thought was long buried. It’s too bad that leaving Joffrey isn’t an easy task.

A.N: this fic is 23k of my sweat and tears. i know that it’s kind of a weird premise, but this was the most gripping writing i’ve done all year. it was exactly right for me at that moment.

however, it does spell a bit of a turning point in my writing and life. in the past, i have written short fics that i could get posted fairly quickly. this fic was the result of multiple weeks of work when i was off school, not working much, and focusing mainly on... writing this damn thing. moving forward, i’m going to have to try to figure out a way to keep up my motivation and drive with longer projects when i don’t have the time to dedicate to HUGE chunks of work at one time when i also know i’m not going to get the instant gratification of kudos immediately after a long writing sesh. i know that sounds silly, but this is the first year where the majority of the fics i wrote WERE longer.

while i’m very pleased with all of these longer fics, it does mark a shift that i will just have to learn how to deal with.

Okay, folks, you all knew this was coming...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

SO GOOD!!! OH, MY GOD!!! THAT WAS SO GOOD!!!

*deep breath* Okay. Now that that’s out of my system, time for the usual recap. Also, since this post is extremely long, you may skip down to the very bottom to find a tl;dr version of my predictions for season four based on what we saw here.

These last three episodes were AMAZING!!! And boy did they keep me on my toes! Even though it wasn’t the first of the three, I’d like to start this recap with episode 25, aka Goddammit, Will You Stop Horsing Around, Grandon, And Finally Freaking Confirm Or Deny Whether Or Not My Son Is Dead?????

I’ll admit I have lost a little (A veeeeeery little) amount of hope that Wally’s still alive somewhere. Thank God for that ending, though! There is still hope. But also, did anyone else pick up on the serious gay vibe Zatanna was giving off in the last two episodes? I know a lot of people are going to say her “Artemis, you know I love you” line was out of friendship. But, then again, this is Tumblr. When it comes to people being in lesbians with each other, we all kinda hope for the best here. And I have spent many an hour, a day, a week, a month, 525,600 minutes (You get the point) of my life analyzing whether or not people have romantic intentions or attractions in TV shows and movies. And, folks, I can say without a doubt that that “I love you” really meant “I love you.” And combine that with the fact that Artemis seems to finally have closure over Wally...

I think Snaibsel has a real shot at becoming canon next season. It’s either that or Zatanna is really Rocket’s significant other who we still know NOTHING about. Seriously, why is that? Why can’t we get a serious confirm or deny out of Grandon about even something this small? I highly doubt answering the question of whether or not Rocket is married to a woman would really “spoil” anything. In fact, it would probably get MORE people to watch the show because of the representation. So, yeah. We may be able to add two, possibly three depending on how Artemis feels, people to the LGBT characters list in Young Justice. On another note, I like to think that Will has also finally moved on. While he may not be in love with Artemis (Thank God!!!), I believe that him blowing out the candle in that final scene means that he has finally moved on from Cheshire, given that the first candle going out seemed to symbolize Artemis moving on from Wally, and now Will will finally start looking for someone else.

Then there’s episode 24, which all I can say about is TAKE THAT, GRANNY, YOU OLD BAG!!! Oh, and the same goes to Lex Luthor in episode 26, btw. Also, yeah, I guarantee you that Bart and Ed are a couple. Int he X-Pit, Ed’s first instinct wasn’t to save Jaime who was clearly suffering the most. It was to save Bart! Add that to the animation sequence that I can only assume was supposed to be a cheek kiss that was edited out because the crew severely underestimated Tumblr’s ability to see and analyze everything that ever happens in a show even when it happens at superspeed and thought they wouldn’t need to waste extra animation money on adding it in *inhales after such a long spiel* plus the fact that he was so concerned over Bart’s safety in Elder Wisdom, and you’ve got yourselves one can of 100% certified canon Goldpulse (Or Zetaflash or Bartuardo. Seriously, when are we all going to agree on one single ship name for those two? Which should definitely be #goldpulse, btw).

Also, go Vic for finally accepting who he is! He even went back to school and befriended Cisco, who I guarantee we’ll be seeing next season as Vibe! Honestly, my only real complaint about that episode is that the rest of The Outsiders didn’t get too much screentime in that or any of the other episodes released today besides Cyborg and Beast Boy. Same goes to Batman Inc, which I’m hoping we’ll be seeing more of next season. i.e. the totally mishandled and underused Cass Cain, Stephanie Brown, Cissie King-Jones, and, for the second season in a row, (Goddammit, Grandon!) Tim Drake.

Actually, I’m kinda betting that the so-called “core group of characters” that next season is supposed to be centered around will actually consist of the ORIGINAL Young Justice characters from the comics. Namely, Superboy, Impulse (I know he’s named Kid Flash now, but you get it), Tim Drake’s Robin, Wonder Girl, and maaaaaaaaybe Arrowette. Still not really sure if she’ll be featured more, or if they’ll switch her out for Spoiler to add some relationship drama to Cassie and Tim who I guess are still a couple??? But yeah, I think that might be the direction the next season is going.

Finally, that brings us to episode 26, and I have four words for you that perfectly describe my feelings about it: LONG LIVE THE LEGION!!! Legion of Superheroes was one of my absolute favorite shows growing up, so I am SO HYPED that they’re doing them next season! My guess is that the story will be that The Outsiders were the precursors to the 31st century’s Legion of Superheroes. i.e. a public team of meta teens who fight for good and people like them. I wonder which Legion characters they’ll include. Most likely it’ll be Brainiac 5, Saturn Girl, and Lightning Lad for sure, but then they’ll probably also throw in Cosmic Boy and maybe a few others. I need to do some digging on which Legionnaires were most important in the comics. Plus, with the Legion here now, we’ll probably also get Supergirl since she plays a big role in their story, and she could also play a big role in The Light’s plans to serve as another, better Superman copy that they can use to destroy The Team, The Outsiders, and the League.

Then you’ve got Fred Bugg openly revealing who he is to his classmates, which is AMAZING! And we’ve finally gotten a good twist on the Judas Contract storyline! Assuming she isn’t dead by the time it happens, I really hope we’ll be able to see more of Terra acting as a hero in season four! And I’m really excited to see what Brion will be like as a villain!

Which finally brings us to predictions. What will happen next in Young Justice? My guess is that the next season will be focused on the Legion of Superheroes coming to present day to fulfill a mission similar to Bart’s original mission in season two, but on a much larger scale. I’m guessing that they’re trying to prevent Vandal Savage, The Light, and/or Darkseid from taking over the galaxy in a way that could potentially alter time to change the future the Legion knows and comes from.

Secondly, I’m guessing that the next time jump will not be nearly as long as I originally anticipated. Actually, I’m guessing that there will be NO TIME JUMP AT ALL. Since the season didn’t end on the 4th of July or New Year’s, my guess is that the writers are throwing out the original formula for how they structure each season, meaning there’s a good chance this coming season will pick up right where season three left off.

Also most likely coming next season, we’ll have the Jason Todd storyline to deal with, we’ll have Artemis trying to discover new love (Possibly with Zatanna, or the other most likely option would be Icicle Jr since the two of them were actually married in the comics), and with the addition of characters from the 31st century to the series, we just might be seeing the Reverse Flash and Inertia, which could introduce us to the concept of the Speed Force, which will in turn finally lead to bringing Wally back from the dead. However, if Wally isn’t brought back by the end of next season, there’s pretty much a 100% chance we’ll never be getting him back at all.

So, to sum up my thoughts and theories: new characters we should be seeing next season include the Legion of Superheroes, Supergirl, and Reverse Flash, the season’s main focused characters will most likely be the original Young Justice team from the comics, and if we don’t get Wally back next season we won’t get him back at all. secret santa

ayyyy, i’m three days late but, surprise!! i’m your secret santa! happy holidays @numbuh-7-knd!!! this is wally centric and features his friendship with artemis with a hint (don’t blink) of snaibsel. i hope you like it!

The first time Wally has a crush on a girl, he’s in the first grade.

Her name is Myah and she’s an angel; dark brown hair, eyes to match and always, always wearing the coolest socks.

And Wally-

Wally’s confused.

When he looks at her there’s an ache in his belly that doesn’t quite feel right even though it’s not hurting. He’s not sure what to do when she smiles at him or laughs, usually making fun of his vibrant red hair.

He’s not sure what to do about this feeling, butterflies, people tell him, so he does the first thing thing that comes to mind when her two nearly identical, chestnut-colored pigtails come into his sight.

He pulls.

The first time Wally has a crush on a boy he’s ten.

He’s ten years old and the boy sitting on the bench at the park down the street from his Aunt Iris’s place looks lonely.

Okay, not lonely. Just-

Interesting.

When Wally finally gathers enough courage to approach him, the boy with honey blonde curls that bounce while he draws intensely, passionately into his sketchbook, he’s nearly stunned into silence by the sight of his eyes.

His eyes. They’re blue and they remind Wally so much of the ocean that, for a moment, he thinks he might drown in them.

Wally isn’t sure what to do about the sudden ache in his heart, or the redness- the extra redness- in his face, so he sits.

He sits and he blushes and he tries his best not to stumble over his words and he-

He watches. He watches this boy as he talks, with a voice that Wally swears could be a song all on it’s own. He watches this boy as he draws; pigeons, people, Wally.

Later, with bright eyes and a sad smile, he watches this boy as he walks away.

Wally is fourteen, a freshman in high school, when he finally says the word out loud to himself.

Bisexual.

It leaves a weird taste in his mouth and it’s not something he’s sure about saying to someone else. But it’s a start.

Now, at sixteen, Wally watches Artemis. Or rather, watches Artemis and Zatanna. Artemis tries her best to be subtle, but he doesn’t miss the longing glances and the barely audible, yet crushingly pathetic, sighs. She argues with him halfheartedly about pineapple not being an appropriate topping for pizza and she glances, every so often, towards the corner of the Cave’s lounge where their raven-haired magician just happens to be.

He confronts her about it later, away from the prying eyes and ears of the team. She blushes and stutters and, even though there’s almost no hope for feigning nonchalance at this point, she still tries, again, to pretend she isn’t head over heels for Zatanna, for a girl.

Wally places his hands, carefully, with precision and determination, on his hips and gives her a pointed stare in an attempt to emulate his mother at her most stern mom-edness.

It-

It works.

Her face is weird, blotchy and almost as red as his own can be, and she looks like she might cry- no, she is crying- and her shoulders have turned slightly, as if she’s one wrong move, one wrong breath, away from running away, maybe moving away. Wally can tell her mind is racing, a mile a minute, and he almost, almost falters, almost apologizes for crossing the line, for putting her on the spot like this but-

She sighs. There’s a tightness in her posture that remains and the tears haven’t really stopped but Wally can tell, Wally knows, he’s won.

She doesn’t make eye contact with him yet and chooses, instead, to stare at the ground.

“I’m bisexual.”

When she finally looks up at him, there’s something akin to anger in her eyes, a resolved hardness.

“I have a crush on Zatanna.”

Her fists clench as if she’s waiting for him to say, to show that he has a problem with it. Before she can say anything else, though, Wally blurts it out.

“Me too.”

This is the moment she relaxes. The tension seems to ooze out of her body, her eyes brighten, and the corner of her mouth tilts upwards. It’s only a split-second before she’s fully grinning at him.

His smile matches hers and, even though he really, really wants to, he doesn’t pull her in for the hug he’s sure would get him a punch in the arm.

This is cool, he thinks.

less for sure. i wrote more original stuff this year (i got 20k done for nano! woop!) but over all i didn’t write as much. i’ve been busier and there’s been a lot more happy stuff going on outside of school, so that’s good.

genre: um. is “coming of age story/gender bend” a genre because i wrote that the most

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?

well i didn’t even know that spop was a thing in january so rewrite would have been a surprise except that it’s so up my alley that i would just look at and say “that tracks”. maybe all the bnha gender bends? i would have been shocked that i made myself ship kacchako when i first started bnha in june probably Did you take any writing risks this year?

i started a long fic for fma that i’m still working on, which is pretty big for me. i also started a series about gender bent bnha characters, which is pretty controversial. Do you have any fanfic or general writing goals for the new year?

From the past year of writing, what was your… Best story of this year:

born to live, made to die has to be it. everything has just kind of come together in that one and i’ve grown so much as a writer working on it.

Most popular story of this year:

gimme a boost over heaven’s gate, the au where tahani and eleanor meet on a trashy day time tv show and fall in love and decide to become better people together

Personal favorite:

ad astra per aspera for sure. projecting all my own feelings all over the place? exploring ochako as a character? having her make out with my butch lesbian bakugo? accidentally becoming a kacchako shipper? that fic is very important to me.

then after that is probably heavy is the head that wears the cowl. i love getting back into jaime and bart’s heads every single time that i do it and this one was a real treat. working through their reputations, writing some stuff about their relationships, and getting to juxtapose them and then bring them back together was fantastic. it was some of my best work this year not gonna lie.

Most under-appreciated: i’d say hers, not his just because it’s 18k for a popular pairing and only has 35 kudos. i worked very hard on that fic and it’s for tododeku! tododeku! i know that fics for large ships can slip through the cracks but it still kinda ticks me off.

Most fun to write:

two badass lady veterans was certainly a joy. i LOVE writing middle aged women realizing their sexuality and falling in love, and writing penelope as an emerging bisexual woman learning with her daughter is such a joy. the alvarezes are all super fun to write and jill is such a good character too.

gimme a boost over heaven’s gate was super fun too because tahani’s pov is a delight and i love every member of the good place cast.

gotham nine nine was super funny because it’s all of the b99 folks and their super villain SOs or one night stands from the dc universe

Story with the single sexiest moment:

break a leg probably? that was the only smut fic i wrote this year.

Most “holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story: i didn’t really write anything holy shit level of terrible this year. born to live, made to die has its moments and the premise of passing on a parasite is that one for all is sentient and isn’t good, so maybe one of those?

actually just realized that the most disturbing thing that i’ve written this year is a wip that i’ll probably post in a week or two. so. there’s that. Most challenging to write:

either born to live, made to die because of the crazy intricacies of balancing so many povs that sometimes blend into each other and trying to keep up with my own complicated plot or hers, not his because that fic shifted into an 18k monster that looked nothing like my original vision for it.

Biggest disappointment: maybe riza get your gun? i expected to enjoy the gimmick of mixing riza hawkeye’s character with annie oakley a lot more than i did. Favorite character to write:

i really enjoyed writing catra and the entire cast of the good place. and honestly... writing bakugo is a joy. what a delightful dick.

Favorite opening lines:

Acknowledging that Ochako herself is fierce and beautiful, nuanced and complicated, and that no matter what, she enjoys this girl's company, that she likes her in ways she's never really wanted to. Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?

less, probably. i had a great fic stall over the summer and the first few months of the school year where i just couldn’t get anything written. also i have a ton of unfinished wips that i can’t apply to my word count.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write most?

i wrote the most for snaibsel and young justice, though i didn’t get caught up on one fandom much What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January?

hannibal/brooklyn nine nine crossover fic. enough said Did you take any writing risks this year?

i wrote longer fics and some crossover fics, both of which scare me quite a lot so trying them out really paid off.

Do you have any fanfic or general writing goals for the new year?

1. post a lot of fics for femslash february. i have a goal of at least 15.

2. write more original fiction.

3. maybe finish that yj season 3 fic i’ve started work on? maybe.

From the past year of writing, what was your… Best story of this year:

you, me and the flash makes three probably. it’s the story that i’n the most proud of in general. i feel like i was able to work within the flash season 1 canon while also tweaking and adding things to make the ot3 work.

Most popular story of this year: Imagined Infidelity is the most popular on all fronts but bookmarks, which belong to Mantis Prays to Oregon (a far superior fic in my opinion. that one’s of my favorites of the year)

Personal favorite:

Borrowing Problems from the future was the first real fic i was able to complete in months after my writing drought, so i have a real soft spot for it, especially because it allowed me to explore alex fierro’s character a bit and try to fix a few problems i had with the way their relationship was handled.

Most under-appreciated:

i have two for this one, tbh

the man in yellow in the living room with the knife: this is my flash/pushing daisies crossover which REALLY ends up working but hardly anyone read

The Spark that Will Light the Fire: what if rose tico was a stormtrooper and we actually addressed the stormtrooper issue in tlj? what if????

Most fun to write:

Jane the Metahuman. I haven’t worked on it in a while, but it’s always so fun to just slip into the universe where the jane the virgin characters and the flash characters are friends. it’s just so delightfully weird and fun to write. Story with the single sexiest moment:

Blame Me, I Will Wear It hate sex between iris west and a caitlin snow that’s almost kind of herself and almost kind of killer frost, enough said

Most “holy crap, that’s wrong, even for you” story: maybe All Katz Go to Heaven? I didn’t write a lot of fucked up stuff this year, but the idea that every person hannibal lecter has ever murdered ends up in Brooklyn Nine Nine is kind of a fucked up premise for a fic haha

OH WAIT maybe it’s grieving schrodinger’s dad? it puts zatanna zatara into a time loop of the day that her dad becomes doctor fate.

Most challenging to write:

It was really hard to crank out the second chapter of dead girl walking, especially since i was trying to finish it during my ireland trip. it was a lot of heavy content, a lot of characterization issues, and some action scenes, which aren’t necessarily my strong suit.

Biggest disappointment: Pushing Irises. it turned out well, but I also had zero motivation to continue it so it’s just a single chapter that ends on a cliff hanger. It might always be a single chapter that ends on a cliff hanger. Favorite character to write:

this year i really enjoyed writing eleanor shellstrop and cisco ramon. i didn’t write either of them a lot, but whenever i did write them it was a blast.
