I think it's just really weird to me that people will put 18+ in their bio, but then they'll reblog adult content from blogs with no source, deactivated accounts loooong gone, blogs who steal content, and reblog porn that has no proof of age or consent. What's the point of putting 18+ in your bio if you're just going to reblog any content from anywhere? How do you know that the person you're reblogging is over the age of 18? How do you know those images or videos were released consensually?
I just think posting adult content that's consensual is so important and I don't think 18+ on your page alone cuts it. This is a big part of why Tumblr removed porn in the first place. They couldn't stop y'all from posting unconsensual images of others and so they had to ban it for everyone. And even though they've returned the ability to post (female presenting) tits, adult content can still get you in trouble here. Taking 2 seconds to click on every image/video that you want to reblog will keep not just keep you safe, but everybody in the community and everybody who's ever had content posted non-consensually by ending the spread of it.
The idea that all content was posted on here consensually is just crazy to me. As if revenge porn doesn't exist. If you can't check the source and find out if that person is over 18 and posted the content consensually then you probably shouldn't be posting it.
I know this is an unpopular opinion for some reason, but consent is a hill I'm willing to die on.

I really hope you did not bail on continuing the dandelion Inn. That would break my heart a little. As long as I know you will continue/finish it eventually I can wait (very impatiently but still..).
Okay so typically I don't respond to things like this, but ignoring the last few I've gotten here and on twitter obviously hasn't worked, so here we go.
Yeah, don't do this.
You're trying to be funny, but this is a not-at-all-veiled "NEXT CHAPTER WHEN, WRITE MORE." And just...no.
You—and by "you" I mean the group of y'all that send comments like this to me and others, not this anon specifically because I don't know you—obviously mean for this to inspire me to write faster, but what this actually does is piss me off and make me work on something else. Why? Because it's not kind, it treats me like a production machine instead of a person, and it, frankly, makes you seem like an ungrateful asshole. Sorry! But true.
I find that people who write these comments typically—and I literally don't know who you are so idk in this situation—aren't the ones leaving long, detailed, enthusiastic comments on every chapter on every reread. Not the ones earnestly and consistently reblogging and retweeting and writing thoughtful commentary or even excited tags. You come off as an unengaged and ungrateful reader who will leave kudos but nothing else, and two days after I post will be saying "when is the next oneeeee" which is so frustrating.
I spend hours on these chapters. Literal hours of my life. If you want the next one so badly (and to be clear, I'm glad that you do), write me a long ass comment or ask about what you loved in the last chapter and what you're excited to see in the next. That motivates the shit out of me. That makes me happy and excited to write what's next.
This morning I woke up early with the intention of going into the office and working on Dandelion until my first meeting. But instead, I'm writing this. We all lose, basically. I am way less interested in writing it this morning than I was 30 minutes ago. And that sucks! I love writing, I love writing this fic, and I love being engaged with y'all. You just need to treat me like a person and understand that this "write faster, gimme" bs does not work. I don't know anyone this works for, so honestly, just stop it.
Next time you're desperate for another chapter of one of your favorite fics, try this: "Hey, I just reread [x fic] for the [6th] time because I'm obsessed!! My favorite part of this chapter is when [character] said [quote from fic]. I couldn't stop [laughing and my grandma thought I was dying]. Last night I couldn't sleep thinking about what will happen when [character] finds out [secret]. I'm not sure if she's going to [reaction A] or [reaction B] but mostly I just want them to KISS [IN THE RAIN]!!! I love you forever and ever, byeeeee"
And just in case this hasn't landed, here's another way to put it. If you are not in the following situation, I literally do not want to hear your thoughts on how quickly I write. If you're doing all of this, I welcome your feedback on my pace of fic output:
Drafting an original novel
Revising an original novel that is honestly your very best hope of being published and that is about to be sent to publishers
Watching as your second novel, Firefly, one of your loves, slowly dies in the hands of publishers, meaning that your agent, who you have worked with for over 2 years now, has still not made a single fucking penny off of you, and might drop you as a client
Celebrating your wife's birthday and generally spending time with her because you love her and value your relationship with her
Working on a long fic with a partner that you really care about and have a deadline for
Working a day job that is so intense and stressful you literally spent 5 hours the other weekend (on your writing day) ensuring that a student didn't do something to themself. Sorry I couldn't work on Dandelion that day, I need to make sure this person did not die.
Having a chronic, persistent, and ultimately probably terminal disease that makes you so exhausted sometimes you can't lift your head up after a work day
*insert gif I can't find of Lucy saying thanks for playing!*
Like I said, I hate doing this, I hate writing this, I hate responding to this, but ignoring hasn't worked, so here we are. Please don't make me say it again.

Reminder: Cultures are not Costumes
As the American holiday of dressing up approaches, this is a good time to remember that Native Americans, Mexicans, Roma/Romani and many other ethnic groups are cultures, not costumes. Also, ‘Gypsy is a slur.

Toxic, oversensitive Sonic fans be all:
Based on this exchange I recently stumbled upon:
The logic appears to be “calling me a game purist / game elitist = this person hates the games since the games are the primary source material of the franchise and thus being a game purist / game elitist cannot possibly be a bad thing unless this person HATES THE GAMES!” It’s the equivalent of if I called out a Pokemon Genwunner and they responded by saying that this reveals that I hate Gen I. Gen I, which is my personal favorite Pokemon generation alongside Gen II. The issue isn’t about liking something, it’s about rejecting everything else purely on the stance that it’s not that thing you like, acting as if other things like later Pokemon generations or other areas of the Sonic franchise like TV shows and comics have no real worth to them and that their fans are idiots for believing otherwise.
Or, to use Pokemon as an example again:

I need to address something.
So I need to address something. Look. Buddy. You flood my inbox with over 20 questions. I could deal with it. Why? Because I see you're genuinely interested. No problem. I even liked your idea of the whole Hisami thing with Mahiru and Emma/Kotoko. It was a good idea.
But this? Oh no. You've gone too far lad. Look. Stop trying to tell me how to run this pet project of mine. You don't get to dictate how I do things. I can accept critiques and suggestions. However, this shit right here isn't done in good faith. Why? Well for context here.
Pal, I already said things *can* change in the future. Ask @putaindeplagieur. He gave me suggestions early on that I wasn't in the right mood or was busy with other things at the time to accept. And well, clearly we've been working together. Why? He had good faith critiques and suggestions. He wasn't trying to make demands of me.
I get that you want to see Makoto struggle as you feel he's probably too perfect and doesn't have conflict but the way you responded ISN'T the right way of addressing it. I'm not going to block you as I only deem that for the truly insufferable but you're definitely on my "To look out for" list.
As for everyone else, if you do have suggestions or idea's to improve the hope universe I'm willing to listen to them if it's in good faith but please don't make demands for me. Especially after I ALREADY ANSWERED MOST OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AGREED WITH YOUR SUGGESTION FOR MAHIRU AND HISAMI!!
XD Now that's out of the way, I'm going to continue with things I'm currently working on.

Just because I'm seeing it again and it makes me tired:
Nobody on here gets to tell you that you're mischaracterizing characters that none of us made up. If a character in your fic responds differently to a situation than they do in someone else's fic, that's awesome! That gives us more to explore as readers. If we don't dig it, we can go do anything else! I suspect many of these super popular characters are so popular because they speak to us in a lot of different ways. Isn't that lovely?
If you're among the folks making those posts about how hilarious it is to you that everyone else is so wrong in their interpretation, maybe consider why you feel the need to do that, because no one's getting a cookie for being Most Correct at the Made-Up Thing.
This is supposed to be fun. You're doing great. Write what you want.

??? Oh no??? What happened to the kitties!?
STORY TIME! Well they were victims to animal abuse. I don't remember how many people, but there were some guys shooting the cats with their mother with guns. I forget what kind but maybe for BB-gun practice. We don't know what happened to the mother, she was probably killed, but animal rescue came in time to save 3 kittens. They were treated back to health and went to the shelter or pet store. .this was years ago I can't remember everything. My mom is actually the one who saw them up for sale, and she had to get all three because they were brothers, she didn't have the heart to separate family. So we got Darth Vader, Darth Sidious, and Darth Maul. Maul eventually did escape the house and was never seen again, we looked for weeks, but he's just gone. We think the crazy cat woman next door might have him, sometimes we see a big fat black cat sitting by her house. I hope that's the case, anything over death.
