today seems to be chat day for me, so while i'm at it already...

what's up with the hatake and the whole wolf contact, nomadic, wild clan? i don't wanna say a hc is wrong bc it's a hc.... but this is possibly the wrongest hc i've ever seen

everything abt hatake we know is hinted toward farming. kakashi = scarecrow, sakumo = crops, hatake = field, and their clan symbol resembles a rice field. what about that screams nomads??? wolves???

i assume it must be bc sakumo is known as the white fang, but otherwise... that's it. like, sorry but it just doesn't fit

first of all, the inuzuka clan already exists, and it's kind of cheap to make the hatake clan a copy paste version of them, but bigger and more feral bc "wolves are cooler than dogs"

it's perfectly fine to think that the inuzuka are not feral enough, i actually agree; they could be wilder imo. but the foundations are already there - fandom could simply expand on them. tsume's dog is practically a mean wolfdog already, you could just take what's already there and mold it to your tastes

secondly, this whole "pack" hc in which the hatake see family above all elese and form their own packs could not fit kakashi less if you tried. the man lost his team and shrugged it off. when they came back, he had no issues adding sai or giving them over to tenzou. he loves his team, but he is not possessive over them and has never been. that's not expansion of what could've been anymore, that's outright out of character

thirdly, kishi didn't leave us with absolutely nothing abt the hatake. their names are already hints. it's hinting at agriculture. you could come up with so much worldbuilding with this, how the hatake mostly only used ninjutsu for farming, how sakumo and kakashi broke those traditions and became both top shinobi konoha's of their time. not to mention who kakashi's mother might've been...

i'm obviously not saying ppl shouldn't enjoy their hcs, i am only saying that it's crazy the most popular fanon abt the hatake became the one that directly opposes the only bit we were given canonically

fanon somehow jumped from farmer to nomads and wolves of all things, all the while the inuzuka already exists, and most ppl don't even seem to realize it...

Another Saturday Night: What do their weekends (or otherwise general downtime) usually consist of?

Well, pre-embrace she was your typical L.A. party girl (not that typical, she was a bit of a weirdo), her weekends consisted of enjoying the nightlife of Los Angeles. Which is technically still possible but well, now she's forced to live the nightlife every mf day. Or night. She'd indulge in it from time to time but most of her new friends are Nosferatu so she'd have to go alone :|

Otherwise, she really enjoys indulging in occult things in her downtime. Tarot card reading, fortune telling, contacting spirits and all that. I like to think she's either a fortune teller or something similar in modern nights, doing this stuff professionally.

Daddy’s Song: What was their relationship with their parents like?

Her parents think she's dead, so technically nonexistent. However it was never good to begin with, her dad was too preoccupied with work/being a hoe to spend any time with his family, while her mom was too frustrated with her lonely life to pay any attention to her and instead focused on her modeling career. They did spend the occasional holiday together with her half-siblings from her dad's previous marriage but that wasn't it... it was these family gatherings where it became apparent that her parents barely knew her 🙄

Call On Me: Who or what do they rely on?

Her bestie Samantha... other than that, the Downtown anarchs :) They don't trust her for the most part (at least not until the whole blood hunt business) so it's not that she can really rely on them but well.

Dedicated Follower of Fashion: Do they care about how they dress? What’s their style like?

HEH.. yes she absolutely does. Her style during the early 2000s is very much the typical rich girl prep style... lots of pink items, short dresses & skirts, cropped tops, juicy tracksuits, low rise jeans etc, sometimes she likes to incorporate a bunch of vintage elements like victorian blouses or old amulets (see her fashion board). Her style never evolves that much over time, she just goes along with current trends. You can bet she's APPALLED that the 2021 y2k revival doesn't include low rise jeans >:(

Day Tripper: How are they with commitment, whether it be to a person or to an idea?

She's more committed to people than causes lol... she's passionate about being an anarch during the events of bloodlines but that enthusiasm kind of fades once she starts hanging out in the warrens with the nosferatu all the time for absolutely no reason <3 she feels like she truly found her people because no one gives a fuck abt them either and just thinks of them as ugly albeit useful freaks. Nosferatu & Malkavian solidarity moments
