Tumblr media
Frodo: He always checks in on you, always wanting to make sure you were doing okay. He's one of those who is more in tune with emotions, and wanting to check in on emotional wellbeing. He wants you to know you'll always have someone to lean on, and he shows you love through his active listening of your problems.
Sam: He's the type to do small tasks around the house for you, wanting to make sure you don't have to worry about anything. He sets up a routine that's nice and homey. He wouldn't have you lifting a finger if he could, wanting to make sure you can be relaxed. You would have to step in at some points, saying you'd want to split the work.
Pippin: He makes you very well included on any inside jokes, wanting to you to know what it's like. He showed his love through humorous jokes, saying he always wanted to see your smile. His love may have been shown through jokes, but he made you feel truly seen, which was a wonderful way to be reminded you're loved by him.
Merry: He loves to give you parts of his food, wanting to make sure you were well fed. He feels wellbeing is tied to being well fed, so he wants to make sure you get a fair share. And I think that Merry himself likes to try cooking once in a while, and likes to give some cooking to you.
Boromir: He always carves out time in his schedule to spend quality time with you. He always loves to have meals together with you, wanting to make it romantic, with something as simple as bringing flowers for the vase in the middle. He shows his love through any amount of time spent with you, wanting to shower you with his compliments.
Faramir: He has subconscious movements to make sure you're okay and safe. Such as holding out a hand during hikes in an area that's heavily rooted, wanting to make sure of your safety to help you balance and find your way. He also loves to place a hand on your back in crowded areas. He always has a special look of love, reserved just for you.
Aragorn: He always likes to recite poetry or songs he comes across that reminds him of you. He always gives you the softest of looks during those moments, and these moments are usually done by the fires in your room. He usually has your back against him, as he whispers them into your ear.
Legolas: He finds a variety of plants that reminds him of you, always bringing them back for you to look at or put somewhere that you deem cool. It's gotten to the point where there's almost too many flowers in your living space, but you also don't have the heart to tell him to stop. It's really sweet to see the variety of flowers he hand picked for you.
Arwen: She loves to sneak kisses from you throughout the day. She's playful, so her showing her love is through playful ways. She loves to take you off guard of when she'll kiss you, and she always loves hearing your laugh afterwards. She loves to watch you get flustered, laughing as she rushes away.
Eowyn: She loves quality time to, wanting to spend time with you. Her favorite ways to showing you love is teaching you some of her favorite moves in training. She shows you what she has learned, and also wants to learn what you know. She wants to make sure the both of you are prepared for anything, and it's a nice way to spend time with each other.
Eomer: He loves to go horseback riding with you. It provides a time where the two of you can talk in peace, where he doesn't feel the pressure of the kingdom. He loves talking with you here, where the two of you don't feel watched. It's a sense of freedom to speak your minds, but the act of horseback riding allows you to go anywhere. He loves to explore with you that way.
Galadriel: She loves turning to you for advice. She may not always agree, but she loves to hear what you have to say. She finds that hearing a variety of perspectives helps her, and she feels that it helps her get closer to you. She always likes to hear what you have to say about some decisions in how she runs her kingdom.
Elrond: He likes to spoil you, simple as that. It doesn't even have to be buying you many things, although he loves doing that as well. It can be just as well showering you with praise, or giving you his full attention, even if it means ignoring his work for a little bit. He loves at his fullest, spoiling you with many things you love.

Lotr characters caring for you when you're sick
Tumblr media
Samwise:
Dear Sam! Oh bless his kind heart! He would cook you a delicious soup and would cuddle with you, keeping you warm and safe, even tucking you in with a blanket one of his sisters made for you.
He soothingly rubbed your back when you would throw up and hold your hair.
He gives angry glares at the others for being too loud and watches over you like a guardian, protecting you from anything which could disturb your peaceful slumber.
He even offers to do your laundry or other chores, he would basically do anything for you, but you tried your best to explain that it really wasn't necessary.
Along with Sam's help you were able to feel better very soon.
"Now don't you worry Y/N. I've made you some good soup to make you feel better in no time."
Tumblr media
Frodo:
Oh boy! Frodo knows what's it's like to feel extremely sick.
So of course he immediately sympathized with you.
He would read to you, to distract you from your throbbing headache. He also would write you cute, little "get well soon" cards and draw on them too.
He's also curious and wants to know how he can help you more, so he does a lot of research about your illness.
He's always asking if you need anything and is super gentle while you're sick.
Almost treating you, as if you were made of porcelain, he's kinda sad he can't do more to stop your suffering but you told him how very thankful you are that he's there for you.
Tumblr media
Aragorn:
When Aragorn found out you were sick he became immediately worried.
He would constantly check if you're okay and would try to get you to see Elrond.
You tried your hardest to explain to him it's nothing too serious, but he couldn't help but worry.
He grew up among the elves, so he knows about their wonderful elvish medicine.
He regulary checks on you and even sings to you softly.
Aragorn's a very good healer. He would try to care for you as best as he can and in his care you'll feel better in no time.
"There, there meleth nìn, I'll take good care of you now. I promise."
Tumblr media
Legolas:
Legolas was so scared for you.
It was very uncommon for elves to get sick, so of course he was worried about you.
He'll try to ease the pain by giving you a massage to ease your sore muscles, or by pressing a cold rag to your forehead.
Your headache made you sensitive to loud noises, so Legolas would often whisper to you.
He's afraid his normal voice would be too loud.
It's honestly really adorable how much he cares about you and you found him to be very endearing.
He'd stay right beside your bedside, guarding you and you both watch the raindrops outside hit the glass window
Tumblr media
Faramir:
He's a gentle and caring soul so of course he'd be anxious when you're sick.
Faramir would give you flowers and place them on your nightstand, decorating your room with the beautiful leaves to make you feel better.
He'd hold your hand and brush the hair out of your face. Tugging you in cozy blankets when you fall asleep and bringing you tea.
Faramir would try to help you stay connected with the outside world. Telling you about news when you're too sick to go outside.
And if you can go outside but your body is still too sore he'd happily drive you around in a wheelchair to get you some fresh air

Abruptly awakened, Legolas gazes at his sleeping lover, amazed at how far they have come since they first met.

Legolas awoke abruptly to the sensation of Gimli wrapping his arm around his waist and pulling him against him.
Amused, he realized that his dwarf had done it in his sleep. He found it quite endearing.
The elf turned slightly to the side and stayed in that position, watching Gimli sleep. It wasn't the first time, and he liked this occupation. He enjoyed seeing the dwarf's relaxed face, the little puffs of air that came out of his mouth intermittently and made the hair on his beard fly, the grimaces that crossed his face accompanied by little grunts because he was probably dreaming. All this while holding Legolas tightly against him.
He wrapped his arms around Gimli, feeling a warm feeling come over him, when he saw the way his lover was snuggling up to him.
"I will be dead before I see the Ring in the hands of an Elf!"
"Never trust an Elf!"
How far they had come.
Now Gimli trusted him so much that he slept defenseless in his arms.
Tenderly, Legolas was about to push back a strand of red hair that had just fallen over his lover's face when he was interrupted by the sleepy voice of the object of his attention, "What are you doing?"
Legolas blushed slightly as he said, "I was just watching. Since you woke me up so rudely, I have to pass the time."
Gimli replied sheepishly, "Sorry, my beloved, I didn't realize."
Legolas chuckled softly, "There is definitely nothing you can do about it. Although the fact that even in your sleep you want me to get close to you is rather adorable I must say."
If Legolas had blushed slightly just before, Gimli turned scarlet and not even his beard could hide it. He grumbled, "I'm a warrior dwarf, I'm not adorable."
He hid his face against Legolas' chest, which was shaken by the elf's laughter. When he had calmed down, Legolas said softly, "Don't worry, I'm the only one who knows my dwarf is sweet and I won't tell anyone."
Gimli grumbled for the record, but could not hide the fact that the praise pleased him.
After a few moments of silence, as the night favored confidences, Legolas said softly, "I must confess something to you, Meleth nîn."
Gimli, always more than reasonably moved when Legolas called him that name, simply replied, "I am listening."
Legolas laid his hand on the dwarf's cheek and said, the emotion visible on his face, "I have never experienced anything like this. And yet I have lived a very long time."
Gimli leaned his cheek into his lover's palm as the elf continued, "When I think back to our beginnings, to the hostility and enmity between us, now I couldn't imagine life without you."
Gimli chuckled softly, "Then imagine how I feel, never in a million years would I think I could get along with an elf. Or be friends with one. Let alone to..."
Gimli paused before finishing his sentence, which Legolas finished in a breath, "...love me."
The dwarf nodded slowly and replied softly, "Yes... love you. For I love you Legolas, my fearless elf."
Legolas smiled as he replied, "I love you too, my valiant dwarf. Then, leaning in, he pressed his lips to Gimli's in a tender kiss, followed by several lighter ones. Suddenly, Gimli smiled and, with a mischievous gleam in his eye, he whispered between kisses, "That still only counts as one!"
Legolas laughed, followed by Gimli, and the forest resounded with their laughter for a long time that night.

Requested: May I make an Eomer x reader request? When Eomer is forced into exile, the reader, Eomer’s wife, fears that she and their young son would be cast out as well. In order to ensure the safety of her son, the reader turns to her good friend Legolas for help. I figured she could escape to Mirkwood to seek Legolas’ aid and thanduil could be his usual skeptical self until Legolas kind of tells him off due to the reader being a warrior herself and a dear friend.
Okaay, here is the result. I wrote it with my style, so it may not be perfect. Hope you will still like this!
Y/S/N - your son's name
Pairing: Eómer x reader
Warnings: grammatical errors an that's all I think
The promise
Tumblr media
"Forgive me, love. I didn't want to ..." Eómer held my hand.
I was angry and sad at the same time.
Our little son ran after Eómer.
"Where are you going, daddy?" he asked.
Eómer lifted him into his arms. "Don't worry about me, I'll be back ... and I'll take care of you," he winked at me.
"We should go slowly now." guard touched Eomer's shoulder.
"One more minute, please. I have to say goodbye to my wife," he said.
 The guard nodded. "But quickly."
The son hugged his father for the last time and then ran away crying.
I sighed. "Y / N .. forgive me. I'll blame myself for this to my death, " he said.
"Don't worry, it wasn't your fault, after all. You are their victim. Just promise me you'll be back, okay? And be careful ..." I buried my head in his chest.
"Of course I'll be back. I promise. I wouldn't leave you alone. Be careful too. I love you..." We still wanted to kiss, but the guard grabbed Eómer.
Eómer looked at me one last time and left.
I wanted to cry, be furious, but I was silent. I have to be strong because of our son.
A few days passed. I missed Eómer. Like fish misses water. And I'm not talking about our son. He kept asking about his father. What was I supposed to tell him? I was just comforting him.
People frowned at me in Edoras and whispered something. I didn't feel safe here anymore.
I only had one thing left. Or rather a person.
"What? Y / N, why didn't you tell me sooner? I'd take you away from here right now," Legolas sat with me. We were still in Edoras.
I wrote him a letter asking for help. He immediately ran over here.
Legolas was a great friend of mine. I couldn't wish for a better friend.
"Oh, God, what did Eómer get you into? The two of you," he added.
And did I mention that Eómer doesn't like Legolas and Legolas doesn´t like Eómer?
Eómer thought that Legolas liked me, which was the greatest bullshit I had ever heard.
"Legolas, let's not deal with this now, please. So will you help us please? Trust me, I wouldn't turn to you with help if I didn't have a child, I could handle it by myself. But with our son, no, I'm afraid for him."
Tears began to form in my eyes.
He took my hand. "Of course I can help you. You are my best friend. I'll take you both to Mirkwood."
I was moved. "Thank you, I appreciate it ... you don't even know how."
I hugged him.
Tumblr media
"Who is that woman, Legolas? And that child?"
That was the first thing I heard when we came here.
We were in the throne room, Legolas's father was on the throne and frowned at us. Nice man.
"Your Majesty, I'm Y / N, and this is my son Y / S / N, " I told him this.
My son had his head buried in my skirt. Poor child, he was afraid.
"If you don't mind, we would want to stay here. Until my husband returns from exile ... I promise not to get under your feet, to bother you with our presence ... quite the opposite, I will try to help as I will just can. With anything." I told him.
Thranduil came out of the throne and approached us. "I don't want to hear you, I want to hear my son ..."
Legolas sighed by my side. "Father, I don't know what your problem is."
"Are you really asking me that? I have a problem with dragging a man here. She will be useless to our detriment. What are you doing? They don't need your help, they can do it themselves." Thranduil didn't even raise his voice, but if his gaze killed, I'm already dead.
"Father, at least do it for me. Don't you know that Y / N is my dear friend? Best friend? And she's an amazing warrior. We need more warriors like her."
"Legolas ..." I said. I was moved.
"They'll do on their own ... it'll probably be hard, but that's what life is about." Thranduil continued as if he hadn't heard what his son was saying.
"He is right, Legolas. If it bothers you, we'll go somewhere else ... it won't be a problem for me," I told him.
Legolas looked at me in disbelief. "Are you serious? No, no, you'll be here and that's it. Just because my father doesn't want to allow it, doesn't mean you won't be here. "
"Are we worth it? ”
"Yes. You are. You will stay here. And without debate, " he emphasized you stay here.
Thranduil grinned. "Are you serious, Legolas? Even without my permission?"
"Even without your permission, Father." That was the last thing Legolas said. And then he grabbed us both and dragged us to a room.
He said he was a prince and that he could do whatever he wanted and that we should not dare leave because he would not forgive me.
Oh god, I didn't want him to have trouble for us, but what was I supposed to do?
I just started praying, first thanking for such a great friend and then making Eómer come home quickly.
The days passed. To my surprise, Thranduil didn't kick us out of here, quite the opposite. He was silent.
I went to training again. Legolas was right. I'm a warrior. So I just honed my skills with Legolas.
My son usually wandered around with elves somewhere because he made some friends. He was fine here. I sighed. Thank God.
But Eómer missed me so much. Every time I went to bed, I cried softly. Where is he? What's wrong with him?
I wrote him letters, told him we were in Mirkwood, but he never wrote to me. I was terribly worried about him. Then I stopped writing letters to him. He probably didn't read them.
Gradually, I put up with the fact that he would probably never return. Legolas told me that he had left exile a long time ago. But where did he go? Why didn't he come to us? I let him know where we were. No one has ever seen him. People started spreading the word that he probably died.
I remember that day. I sat outside on a bench, swallowing the sun's rays. It's been a year. Year. And Eómer was not yet returned.
Legolas sat down next to me. "Y / N ... you know, I was thinking ..."
 "About what?" I turned
"I know you're worried ... I don't want you to worry anymore. I love you, Y / N."
I smiled. "Me you too, I will not return to you in my life what you have done for us. I owe you this all. Thank you so much."
He sighed in defeat. "You don't have to thank me, Y / N .. I just ... I don't think this in that sense. I ... I love you. I've loved you for a long time ... I was just silent because of Eómer ..."
Am I dreaming? This can not be true!
"Legolas ..." I began, but he interrupted me.
"Don't say anything yet .. I've been thinking about it for a long time ... will you marry me? By marrying me, you will gain all the privilege, you will be safe. I will accept Y / S / N as my son ... just please marry me. " He took my hand and held a ring in it. It was a beautiful gold ring.
I started crying.
I just scared Legolas. "Did I do something wrong?"
"No, Legolas. I'm crying because ... because I don't love you. I never loved you. I love you as a friend. Like a great friend, but no more .. I'm sorry. I still love Eómer. I wish I was in love with you, but I can't ... take that ring and give it to someone else. That someone else will be happy. "
Eómer was right. The whole time. And I didn't listen to him.
Legolas was silent. He looked hurt. "Okay, Y / N. It does not matter. And isn't there any chance ...? "
I stopped him. "It's not. Sorry."
He hid the ring. "But Y / N .. I will still survive this, even if it hurts like hell, but ... you can't hope Eómer returns. It hurts you. He died. You should put up with it!"
I wanted to say something, to defend myself when I heard a low voice behind me.
"He didn't die."
That's not possible .... I turned around. It was him. My husband. He stood there, emaciated, exhausted.
I got up quickly and ran. "Eómer !! You're back !!" This time I cried with happiness.
Eómer hugged me. But he scolded Legolas.
"I'll handle it with you."
"I'm excited. And I am serious," Legolas growled
"No! No one will fight here, do you understand?" I shouted angrily.
Legolas stood up. "I'll leave you."
Eómer was still frowning at him, but when he looked at me, there was tenderness in his eyes.
"Y / N .. love ... I missed you very much .."
"Eómer ... I was worried about you ... very much ..." I whispered.
He kissed me slowly. It was a gentle, slow kiss. We had no hurry. When we finished, we were still hugging.
"Come Eómer. I have to feed you. You lost weight. And Y / S / N will be so happy. "
His eyes lit up at the mention of our son's name.
"I'm so glad to have you ... I'll never leave you again. Never," he swore.
I smiled. "I hope so."
Tumblr media
Eómer was here for a few days. Fortunately, he didn't argue with Legolas.
"I'm doing it for you Y / N, my wife. Otherwise, I'd... " He shook his head and sighed.
"I'm glad you're doing this. I'm proud of you." I smiled proudly.
"The food is divine, by the way. You're a great cook." he praised me.
"You're still telling me this. Do you still want the food?" I got up when I saw that he had finished eating.
He nodded. "I'm very hungry."
Meanwhile, the son also entered the room and demanded his father's attention. I left him because he wanted his father.
I took his food again, put it on his table, and when he finished eating, I wanted to put the dishes away. He stopped me, he pulled me into his lap.
"Would you leave us with mommy alone, Y / S / N?" Eómer asked him.
I wanted to object, but he stopped me.
"Sure, Dad .. I'm going to see my friends ..." he disappeared quickly.
"Poor boy. You shouldn't have kicked out him like that. He missed you and very much. He kept asking about you." I sighed.
"I have had a lot of time with him and I'll have a lot of time with him, I promise you this, dear. But we weren't alone for a long time.. So I'll eat something else," he said naughtily.
"Eómer." I sighed but didn't object as he began to kiss my neck and collarbone.
"I." kiss on the neck. "Missed." kiss on the chin. "You." kiss on the forehead. "So." kiss on the cheek. "Much." kiss on lips.
"I missed you the way a man missed his wife, Y / N." he muttered between the kisses and leaned me over the table. He rolled up my skirt and stroked my legs.
"Eómer," I sighed. "What did they do to you? Why didn't you write me?" I stroked his hair.
He stopped kissing me. "I couldn't. They forbade me. But I put away every letter. But I was sorry when you stopped writing to me."
"I was worried about you. They said you were dead. And you didn't even write me. So I stopped writing to you. I'm sorry." I fell silent.
He took my hand. "You don't have to be sorry, dear. I thought of you every day. I love you both. I am grateful to have you and to you again because you have given me a son."
"But we have to get out of here. Not to Edoras, but I know one beautiful place ..." he continued.
"Really?" I stroked his wide shoulders.
He nodded. "Seriously. And now we could stop talking and instead ..."
Tumblr media
We left in a few days. Legolas was silent, I knew I had hurt him and I was sorry. I knew we would never be as friends again as before.
Legolas hurried to say goodbye to me, apparently unnerved by Eómer's angry gaze. Then I rebuked Eómer for that.
The biggest surprise, however, was King Thranduil himself. It turned out that he knew his son was in love with me and knew that I was not reciprocating his feelings. That's why he behaved the way he did. Protective parent.
I'm not surprised. I would do the same for Y / S / N. I stroked his hair as he held Eómer's hand.
"I wish you good luck," Thranduil said, and I was speechless.
He didn't wait for our reaction, he just left in silence, his long clothes just rubbed on the ground.
"So now we are alone, my family. Come, I will take care of you and I will never leave you." Eómer said and continued.
"I promise you that."

Ship Request by @fairytalelover33
Hiii! I was wondering if I could get a Narnia/LOTR ship, but with a twist. Who do you think my enemy to lover would be?I’m a straight female, with curly brown hair and and green and blue eyes. I’m about 5’6 and I’m athletically curvy. My favorite color is red, and my favorite animal would have to either be a Lion or a horse. I’m an ENFP, and I’m a Gryffindor. My friends say I am brave, empathic, kind, funny, and protective. They also say I can be VERY stubborn. I get very passionate about things I believe in, and I’m usually the one who stands up for what is right, I don’t back down from my beliefs. My hobbies include reading, archery, daydreaming, being in nature, working out, and baking. My Favorite smells are Lilac, soil after it’s rained, woodsmoke, and vanilla extract. I love chocolate, flowers, cute birds, dramatic music, battle scenes in movies where the good guy comes to the rescue, my family, crisp morning air, horseback riding, swimming, and a good peach cobbler.I hope this wasn’t too long, thank you so much!!! I love your blog <3

Hii ! Okay , so I'm considering that you want enemies to lovers troupe !
From Narnia for enemies to lovers troupe
I ship you with -
Peter Pevensie :)
Tumblr media
You both are stubborn as hell , so very likely that you both would sit as rigid stones against each other !
If someone doesn't agree with Peter , he hates it , so I'm pretty sure you'll not agree to him if you don't want to , that'll cause him to hate you !
Tbh , his colour is red , narnia's colour it red . Aslan is a lion ! Peter rides a horse (so does Edmund lol) but just pointing out that your likings fit here !
Same qualities are shared by Peter !! He'll really like you in the beginning until you show off your stubbornness ! Or it could be he hated your stubbornness until he found out your kind and protective side ? Maybe you became protective of Lucy and that's how he stopped hating you a little ?
He doesn't back down, and you won't . Nice clash *me bringing my popcorn*
You should definitely and will definitely practice archery with Susan and Edmund ! Yes Edmund is better at archery compared to susan lol !
So , like your favourite movie scene , in real life to , Peter will come to your rescue ! And you'll just be amazed !
Be it chocolate, flowers , birds , horseriding or anything , Peter won't back down from gifting you each and everything , maybe everyday !
I can imagine him putting up with the vanilla extract smell to impress you lol ! And tbh , he wol
He may not be beside you to experience the early morning crisp air because he loves to sleep lol , but he might surprise you by Occasionally getting up early and spending time with you , especially if it's battle day or he's leaving for some kingdom!
Overall , a cute and strong relationship !
Your bestfriend would be -
Lucy Pevensie
Tumblr media
She's just like you , kind and empathetic . But she can be too kind , so you would be there to protect her !
You both love nature , so I'm pretty sure she'll take you on horseriding there !
Overall , a loyal and pretty strong friendship !
From LOTR for enemies to lovers troupe
I ship you with -
Legoals :)
Tumblr media
Legolas , again, doesn't like if someone doesn't agree with him , so you both would not exactly be enemies , but small Sarcastic or funny fights would be one going between you both !
Not saying that he'll not like you kind brave and empathetic nature , but that would just be overshadowed to him by your stubbornness !
Don't worry , a war which would risk loosing you would change his feelings . You might even get into trouble for saving him / someone ,and he'll have your back , realising how kind you are !
Archery , walking in nature , everything , you'll do it with him ! Everything !
He's gonna live each moment with you !
Overall , a very strong and healthy relationship!
Your bestfriend would be -

Sunshine (Legolas X Reader)
(Hi! I have moved to another blog. If you would like to see more of this content, feel free to follow me there and visit it! @ceinelee Thank you so much!)
(Shameful plug buuuuut I made a cover of You Are My Sunshine before. It's the only video on that channel I AM LAZY but I am going to use this song in this story so here ya go)
youtube
You sat beside Legolas as the two of you attended one of the meetings in Mirkwood that needed immediate attention. Of course Legolas was needed to be present for they were to talk of strengthening their borders. But Thranduil insisted you come and observe, for to be a future princess of Mirkwood one must also know how things work.
But one of Thranduil's advisors was holding his five month old baby in his arms. He gave a sheepish grin as he tried to calm the baby down. His wife was one of the healers and she was needed for there was a large number of those who were getting sick from the poison creeping in the woods.
"I do apologize, my lord. I simply do not know how to make her stop crying! My wife had fed her this morning and I don't think she is in any pain."
Thranduil kneaded the bridge of his nose and sighed. "Well we cannot start, what with all the ruckus she is making!"
You stood up and approached the poor ellon. With a gentle smile, you said, "May I carry her?"
"But my lady, I cannot—"
You shook your head. "Please, you are much more needed in this meeting than I am. I will only carry her to the corner of the room so that you will still be able to see her."
It was obvious he was nervous of the idea of making you babysit. You were soon to be a princess! But clearly he had no other choice. So gently he handed you his daughter. The baby kept on crying, especially when she saw she was out of her father's arms.
You secured her in your embrace, leaning back a little for the young elf to lay down more comfortably. Carefully you placed her head on your shoulder. With a nod to her father, you walked to a corner in the room and started to sway from left to right.
By then the baby had stopped crying, and she was wiping away her tears. Then she sat up straight and looked at you with curious eyes.
"Hello little darling," you crooned. "I must hold you for your father needs to do something of utmost importance. But there is no need to worry—from here you can still see him. He will not leave without you, sweetheart."
Of course you knew she understood—the minds of elves develop more quickly than men. So it was quicker for her to stop crying. But you soon found out she liked it better when she was carried whilst standing up rather than being on someone's lap while sitting down.
You also found out she would start whimpering if it got too quiet for her liking. The distant conversations of the King and his advisors did not help, because she often got startled when they raise their voices.
So as quietly as you could, you began to sing.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are gray,
You'll never know dear how much I love you,
Please don't take my sunshine away..."
The young elf in your arms stared at you and then at your lips, observing how they moved and listening intently to your song. Then to your surprise, she started humming with you. As she did so, she laid her head down on your shoulder again and put one of her arms around your neck.
"I'll always love you and make you happy,
And no one else could come between,
But if you leave me to love another,
You'll have shattered all of my dreams..."
You continued your song and hummed the same tune twice before ending. In your arms the young elf was fast asleep with a small smile on her lips. Sighing happily, you then noticed that the room had gone quiet.
Everyone in the meeting was looking at you and your cheeks quickly turned pink in embarassment. "Forgive me, was I too loud?" you asked, fearing that you disturbed their meeting.
But they all hurriedly shook their heads with loving smiles on their faces. "You did nothing wrong, my lady," they said. "We were simply enchanted by your voice."
"Oh, um, thank you," you stammered. Your attention was then back to the young elf when she stirred in her sleep.
As you continued to fuss over the young elf, the advisors and Thranduil looked at Legolas who was looking at you with such a loving gaze.
"You have been blessed indeed, my lord," one of the advisors said.
"To find such an elleth like her."
Legolas' beamed and said, "I am indeed." He sat up straighter, proud of the fact that you were his and he was yours.
Thranduil sighed. "I already told you to just marry her already! I order you to ask her hand in marriage as soon as possible. She is the only elleth I will let you marry." His outburst caused laughter around the table, except for Legolas whose face was red.
"Ada," he sighed.
"I want to be a grandfather, Legolas."
And Thranduil did become one. Three years later, you find Legolas cradling your son in his arms, standing by the crib and gently swaying to help your child fall to sleep.
And your heart swelled with love and happiness even more, for as you leaned against the doorway, you heard the faintest voice sing,
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine,
You make me happy when skies are gray,
You'll never know dear how much I love you,
Please don't take my sunshine away."
