Ash: How do ethical philosophers feel about murder? Naomi: Well, it’s frowned upon. Ash: Okay, but what if the reason you want to murder someone is to make your life easier? Ash: That’s okay, right?

Mateo, digging his grave: Long story short, this is my grave.......Want me to make you one too?

Armando: Guys! I found a 100 dollar bill! Armando: *looks around* ….Should I keep it? Elena: Armando, just do the right thing. Victor: And put in your bag. Elena: No—

Shuriki: When I said you should try being friendlier this isn't what I meant. Carla, stirring a cup of tea aggressively: Oh, so now I'm TOO friendly? There's no pleasing you. Ash, who broke into their house an hour ago: Two sugars please. Carla: Coming right up.

Carla: Ugh, the printer broke while printing out Esteban's birthday invitations. Naomi: Well, what are they supposed to say? Carla: "Esteban's birthday". Naomi: So, what do they say instead? Carla: "Esteban’s bi". Naomi: Naomi: Works out either way.

Gabe: My only talent is being stress. Luisa: Don't you mean stressed? Gabe: No.

Dona Paloma, wiping tears from their eyes: If you love someone, set them free. If they come back, it’s meant to be… Isabel: I’m literally just going to the store.

*Dona Paloma is in the kitchen and they hear a crash from the living room* Dona Paloma, running into the living room: WHAT ON EARTH HAPPENED HERE?!?! Esteban, looking at the broken TV screen and the remote on the floor: I was trying to throw the remote onto the TV stand! Dona Paloma: And Shuriki didn’t stop you?! Esteban, pointing at a sleeping Shuriki: She's been asleep for the past three hours. Victor, walking in, oblivious to the situation: Hey guys- Victor, realizing: Wait, is the TV broken? Why?! Dona Paloma, pointing at Esteban: He threw the remote onto the TV stand. Victor: Come on! That’s the 5th time this week and it’s 2 in the morning on a Tuesday! Shuriki, waking up to see the situation: *yawns* How long was I out? Shuriki, seeing the broken TV: OH GOSH NOT AGAIN! ESTEBAN, I TOLD YOU NOT TO! Esteban: You were asleep! And I always take a window of opportunity when I see it! Dona Paloma and Victor, in unison: But you broke the- Esteban: My work here is done. If anyone asks, I was never here. *dashes out of the living room*

Francisco: What if we were stranded on a desert island? Who would you eat? Naomi: Mateo. Francisco: So fast? Wh-what about me? I would eat you! Naomi: That’s very nice, I guess. Francisco: Why wouldn’t you eat me? I’m your best friend. Naomi: Look, if other people are having some, I’ll try you.

Dona Paloma: How would you like your coffee? Luisa: As dark and as bitter as my soul. Dona Paloma, shouting to someone behind the counter: I need one vanilla latte with extra cream and sugar!

Elena: So, I've been thinking Isabel- Isabel: That's dangerous.

Mateo, acting tough: You guys don't want to mess with me. Gabe: Yeah, Mateo will straight up cry in public. Don't try him. Mateo: Exactly, I will straight up- Mateo: Mateo, tearing up: Gabe, why would you say that?!

Shuriki: Elena is okay. Armando: She's okay? She said she was going to break my legs! And don't tell me she didn't mean it, okay?! 'Cause she gave me the mackerel eyes, she meant it! Shuriki: Armando, Elena threatened me. She threatens Carla every day. She probably threatened Luisa before breakfast this morning. It's what she does. Grow a pair.

Francisco: Hey, wanna hear a funny joke? Isabel: I only like dark humor. Francisco, turning the lights off: What do you call a fake noodle? Isabel: Francisco: An IMPASTA!

Shuriki: I'm not doing too well. Isabel: What's wrong? Shuriki: I have this headache that comes and goes. *Mateo enters the room* Shuriki: There it is again.

Carla: So, you lied to me? Fiero: That depends on how you define lying. Carla: Well, I define it as not telling the truth. How do you define it? Fiero: Um, reclining your body in a horizontal position?

Naomi: Esteban, don’t go picking a fight with Gabe. Don’t forget, he's powerful, he could make life difficult for you. Esteban: Wow, I wonder what it'd be like to have a difficult life.

Isabel: I drink to forget but I always remember. Carla: You're drinking orange juice.

Esteban: Oh no! I’m doomed! Isabel: Seriously? All you have to do is not insult Dona Paloma at her own memorial service. Esteban: Exactly! It’s impossible!

The story was inspired by both the amazing writers @cartoonfangirl1218 and @Lauraschiller.

Despite years of trying to hide their true past, Esteban and Hortensia know more about each other than the other can guess.

When Esteban helped Shuriki to invade, Dona just came to the city to work after her family had lost everything in the flood. She was still an assistant and they constantly quarreled. But the spark soon grew into an affair. When Shuriki found out, Esteban broke up with Dona to protect her. His family’s magical portrait is under a constant threat by Shuriki and he cannot bear giving the Sorceress Queen even more power over him.

Dona emerses herself in gossip and shopping as she rises in rank and money and her rivalry with Esteban becomes harsher and harsher.

During their bet about Naomi’s Quinceanera she could not stop her curiosity and watched Esteban and Naomi practicing dancing. She knows that there is no romance between the Chancellor and the young Council Member, but Dona cannot stop the sudden jealousy. If things had worked out differently, she could have been the one to dance at the ball with Esteban now.

The party turns into a personal fiasco as Esteban braggs with Naomi’s success and a hurt Dona flirts with Julio out of revenge.

When Esteban runs away from his banishment with Ash, Dona meets them in the forest and accuses him that he always runs away from his problems.

They get in a big argument that finally brings the burried feelings to the light and at Elena’s coronation they are at the start of a second chance.

Honestly I’m not sure as I really liked your platonic Esteban and Doña Paloma and so many of the phrases would be interesting. So you can choose “just do this for me and we’ll never have to speak to each other again once this is all over” or “i thought you were better than that,” or “was it all a lie?” Cuz honestly I can’t choose.

So this happens somewhere between Captain Mateo and Coronation Day

"Help me, please. Just do this for me and we'll never have to speak to each other again once this is all over." Were the only words Esteban said to her when he appeared in the dead of night in her house, in a green flash if magic.

"Once what is over?" She wanted to ask but that's when he fell unconscious at her feet.

Now, a whole twenty four hours after Esteban magically crashed at her house and left her with one of the harder decisions in her life, wether she should hand him over to the princess or let him stay, she was changing the cold compress on his forehead and cursing the day she told him where she lives.

And because he still haven't regained consciousness, the question still haven't left her head.

Once what is over?

Once he gets better? Once he ends this stupid war he had started with his cousin which was now shaking the whole country? Or once he... Any other possibilities were too grim to even consider, so she shook her head to dispell them.

She looked at him, laying at her couch, unmoving since she put him there. She sighed.

"I thought you were better than that..." she mumbled.

"Than asking you for help? I didn't think that day would come either," he chuckled weakly.

Doña flinched, startled by his voice and only now realized that his eyes weren't fully closed and he was watching her closely from behind half-open eyelids.

"You know that's not what I meant." She pursed her lips and looked away.

Esteban didn't answer and she realized he might've fallen asleep again, but she didn't care anymore. All the conflicting feelings inside her were brewing for the past months into an absolutely explosive mix - and he just threw a spark on it.

"Was it all a lie?" She ask sharply, turning back to him.

He was worn out and barely aware of his surroundings, but she could see the confusion caused by her question. That infuriated her even more.

"Twenty years ago, when I told you why I got to Avalor City, how I got where I was, you berated me. You said what I had done was despicable, that I was heartless to do all those things for success. And that if you ever had the chance to see your family again, you wouldn't just throw it away like that. Well." She gritted her teeth. "Where are those words now?"

Esteban didn't answer. His eyes were closed.

Doña stomped out of the room and slammed the door.

She leaned her back on it and pushed her fists to her eyes, to stop the tears under behind her eyelids. Her heart was racing. She wanted to scream.

At him. At herself. At the princess. At the cruel stars that aligned in the way that even allowed them to meet.

She opened her eyes and the only thing she saw, was the green flash of light coming from the other room.

Dramaaaaaaa

I love those two they're both terrible people which makes confronting them just SO FUN

New idea that Esteban felt even more distant from his family when they returned from the amulet, not only in age and experience but when they play games like who knows who best, he realizes-

Worst day of his life? Funniest moment? Favorite kingdom to visit?

That has all changed from when they knew him as a boy. He had formed new experiences and memories they wouldn’t know because of their time trapped in the amulet/painting. They didn’t know him anymore. Not like they did before.

Unpopular opinion: Elena of Avalor fandom edition! Mateo isn't the sweet dorky magician the wiki (and some fans) tends to present, he is just as competitive as (of not more than) Gabe and can be really selfish and arrogant. And he never really gets called out on his flaws or misdeeds as much as the other characters.

Yes, I'm not sure if it's my contrarian hipster brain seeing he's popular within the fandom and just doing it's natural "hype backlash" as result, or what. But my overall reaction to him is "meh" at best and low-key annoyance at worst. Maybe it's just me, but I definitely feel that whenever Elena, Naomi, Gabe, Isa, or especially Esteban are in the wrong, the narrative will have an explicit, impossible to ignore "what the hell hero" moment where they learn their lesson. But when Mateo is the one at fault, he's more likely to be met with nothing more than a brief slap on the wrist--and that's assuming he's called out for his selfishness/impulsiveness/shortsightedness at all. Which he often is not.

Sentei hoje numa pracinha do bairro Adrianópolis e fiquei olhando os carros importados entrando e saindo de um condomínio de barão. Aí um maluco levantou de um papelão e veio ao meu encontro. Eu tava zero de disposição. Sem nenhuma vontade de interagir com a vida, mas ele puxou um celular pré-histórico do bolso: "olha aí minha gata" "bonita" "minha gata! Tenho três filhos com ela!" "Legal, bicho. Sua mulher é bonita mesmo. É a cara da atriz Paloma Duarte. Dona de uma beleza sóbria, discreta e humilde. O rosto da Paloma Duarte me transmite muita paz. Tua mulher transmite paz pra ti?" Aí ele voltou ao papelão, revirou umas camisas sujas e deu uma golada numa granada de corote "é por causa dela que tô aqui na praça" "poxa, mano. Sinto muito. Estamos numa época estranha. Instável. Quase nada da certo" aí ele apontou para a televisão de uma branquinha de pastel e disse: "minha gata trabalha na televisão. Fala comigo só quando quer. Sabe como é mulher, né" abri um sorriso amarelo, dei dois reais pra ele inteirar outro corote e me despedi: "fica na paz aí, brother. Manda um abraço pra Paloma Duarte. Muito gata sua mulher" o maluco olhou de volta pra tevê "ela só vai falar comigo de noite. A novela passa só de noite". É por essas coisas que não consigo sair daqui. Deus abençoe Manaus.

I few ideas about the AU

Before Luisa and Francisco are buried Esteban reveals his secret to them. He doesn’t realize that Isa could hear him

Julio and Dona Paloma take Luisa and Francisco places on the Grand Counsel.

Isabel is beyond clingy to both Elena and Esteban after losing two sets of parental figures

Esteban becomes an other project father to both princesses but especially Isabel

Isabel calls Esteban ‘Papi’ a few times usually by mistake

During Snow Place Like Home. Esteban allows Isa to go to Cristina village by herself (with a guard) and tells Elena how he promised their Abuelos he would protect both Elena and Isabel and feels like he failed them

Estoma - Alone On Christmas

Thank you to the crossover MEP by @beautifuldreamer8783 for the song inspiration (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bY3C...) and to Laura Schiller for the christmas party and the cheese stall idea! :D

PLOT:

Knowing that Dona will be alone on Navidad but also enjoying how much his family chaos will annoy her, Esteban invites her to the private party on Noche Buena.

Both still enjoy the teasing but they also wish each other things that they would hate for themselves on Navidad (overexcited family conversations with Isa and James for Esteban and last minute shopping for Dona) that the other enjoys nontheless.

Esteban gets drawn into the whole family party, babysitting Thomas and Anita while their parents chat about their old adventures. In the end, both Esteban and Dona realize how much fun the banter is and that spending Navidad together is not bad at all.

For the fictional friends ask if you’re still doing. Since I really enjoyed your characterization in your Esteban/doña drabble, them for 1,3, 4,5, 7,8,13. If you don’t want to do them, maybe Gabe and Naomi.

Oh yes, I'm still taking them! And I could always use some more Esteban and Doña, cause my idea of them is majorly underdeveloped

1. When I think they became friends (if canon already hasn't showed how they became friends)

Hmm that's a difficult question, since are they really friends? Okay, I know they are, you know they are, even if they will never admit that XD

I think at first they met when Esteban had to make some big order for a palace or city event and the newly founded (or was it?) Emporium turned out to be the best supplier, so for some time their relationship was strictly professional and and not very personal.

A few years later as Doña proceda herself as a great merchant, businesswoman and became the Magister of trade, she became working more directly with Esteban, on things like the Friendship Festival and many more I imagine. And thanks to that, through the years they became closer, becoming acquittances and even unlikely friends. Obviously they aren't the closest in the world, but they still like working together, and through various occasions learned many things about each other and learned to trust each other.

3. A random headcanon I have of them

Esteban is one of the few people that know that Doña is from a rural area and knows her full name, but doesn't know the full story. In the same way Doña knows that Esteban wasn't exactly innocent with Shuriki taking over, but doesn't know the full story, and they'd both sometimes remininisce about their families. In a way they know more about each other than probably any other person in the Realm, but because they understand each other so well, they also never ask nor try to dig into the other's personal life.

4. My favorite thing about them

I'll go with a basic one and say their banter, but also those rare moments they're genuine with each other, and because of the first thing those are the more meaningful.

5. A scene I wish we had of them

Hmm there are a few I can think of, maybe one where they would memorize together? Or just talk/think fondly about something from the past? Though I'd also love to see what was Doña's reaction to Esteban's betrayal other than the obvious "yay more power for me now time to take his job" (he'd do the same for her btw I'm sure of that)

7. What makes me like their friendship

The fact how little we know about them and unique their relationship is. You could probably best describe it in the format of that tumblr meme of saying that "they're" and giving a ton of mostly contradicting things.

8. Who I think is the ”crazier” one

I'm actually not sure here XD But if say Doña, if only because Esteban usually would have more restrictions on him, but then again I think there would sometimes be situations where would be the more realistic one, since (at least pre-show) she'd have more to lose.

13. What I think would have happened if they never met

Avalor's economy would look much worse.

But in their personal sense, I think they'd both be even lonlier and more bitter. They might not want to admit it, but they really were each other's friends when they really needed that.

Aurora ligou para sua mãe do hospital para explicar porque não chegaria no horário combinado em casa.

Aurora called her mother from the hospital to explain why she wouldn't be home on time.

Paloma evitava falar com Aurora, ambas ainda estavam constrangidas pelo o que aconteceu. Logo Gabriela chegou ao hospital e foi falar com os médicos.

Paloma avoided talking to Aurora, both were still embarrassed by what had happened. Soon Gabriela arrived at the hospital and went to talk to the doctors.

— Falei com os médicos, Renan está bem, apenas com o tornozelo torcido — disse Gabriela para as meninas. — Paloma, gostaria de uma carona para casa?

— Er... tudo bem.

Paloma não parecia querer aceitar, mas era melhor do que ir para casa a pé.

"I talked to the doctors, Renan is fine, just with a sprained ankle" said Gabriela to the girls. "Paloma, would you like a ride home?"

“Er… it's okay.

Paloma didn't seem to want to accept it, but it was better than walking home.

Paloma ignorou Aurora durante todo o trajeto, a outra menina ainda se sentia muito constrangida pelo que ocorreu.

Paloma ignored Aurora the entire way, the other girl was still very embarrassed by what had happened.

— Obrigada pela carona, dona Gabriela. — Paloma agradeceu, depois se dirigiu para casa.

Ela não acenou de volta para Aurora, apenas a ignorou.

“Thanks for the lift, Mrs. Batista." Paloma thanked her, then headed home.

She didn't wave back at Aurora, just ignored her.

— O seu amigo tinha marca de mordidas na perna… — começou Gabriela após a casa de Paloma tornar-se um borrão no retrovisor.

Aurora não sabia o que dizer, estava constrangida demais para falar, ela não entendia o que aconteceu.

"Your friend had bite marks on his leg…" Gabriela began after Paloma's house blurred in the rearview mirror.

Aurora didn't know what to say, she was too embarrassed to speak, she didn't understand what happened.

Gabriela soltou um longo suspiro.

— Conversaremos em casa.

Aurora sabia que não vinha coisa boa.

Gabriela let out a long breath.

“We'll talk at home."

Aurora knew it didn't sound good.
