Hey everyone! In my time zone, it's currently the last day of the global strike in support of Palestine, and I wanted to do something before it ended. So, I'm offering up donation doodles! If you donate at least a couple of bucks to careforgaza, you will get a lovely doodle in thanks.

For those who don't know, careforgaza is a grassroots organization that's distributing food to displaced families in Gaza. As an estimated half a million Palestinians are facing severe famine, and funding has just been cut to the UNRWA, getting supplies to people is more important than ever.

Although the strike ends today, I will be doing doodles throughout the week (1/28 - 2/04). Just DM me a screenshot of your donation to the careforgaza paypal, and I'll doodle whatever you want, within reason. Let's help out how we can!

There’s a $500 laptop at the phone store across the street that would let me stream and start making money and building my community again, but realistically I can’t afford to spend that much money in one month, that’s more than my rent.

I know this isn’t the best cause or most important thing ever but I’ve had the same shit laptop that barely functions for 5 years now, and it’s probably going to die soon anyways, in which case I will be completely fucked as I am disabled and can’t make it to most in person jobs, I mostly work from home when I’m employed. Plus you know, there’s that whole thing where my entire life is online and all of my relationships are long distance.

So yeah, if you have a few spare bucks I’d really appreciate it if you could throw some my way. I can also do writing commissions for you for any fandom and premise if that’s something you’re interested in.

Safebow, led by raindovemodel over on instagram, is a grassroots team currently doing their best to evacuate almost 200 Palestinian individuals from Gaza.

To do this, they had to raise over $300,000 in a very short amount of time. Amazingly, they not only raised that amount, but surpassed it to the point that they'll now be able to buy prosthetics for the hospitals they work with.

However, Gofundme has thrown a spanner into the work by going completely silent and holding up over half of their funds.

They are on a time crunch as they desperately try to recoup their money before the border closes. Please donate to their Paypal, Venmo or Zelle. Their window of success is genuinely a matter of days.

Hello! Honoring the call for a global strike, from now (24/01/2024) until the end of this week (6AM Monday 29/01/2024, Hanoi/Jakarta time (GMT+7)) I am offering one full-body sketch of any character you want for every e-sim you donate.

All you need to do is:

go to gazaesims.com

follow the instruction there and donate an e-sim of any plan

screenshot the confirmation of your purchase and donation

send the screenshots to me via either email ([email protected]) or Tumblr DM, along with the character you want a sketch of and any references you have on hand.

Standard commission/request guideline applied. I'll run streams in the next four days (and perhaps after as well) on Youtube doing these sketches live - those will be announced on this blog as they happen.

I'm not currently affiliated with the Cartoonist Cooperative or any other artists doing the same drive, but if my art's not what you're looking for, definitely give the Coop's site as well as the e-sim tag on Tumblr a look! With roughly 40% of donation proofs received, and about half of those processed (we're plowing through!) the donations to our various supported orgs looks like this:

Interestingly, although MECA is getting the lion's share, we've received heart-felt thank you notes from a handful of other orgs with much smaller slices of the pie who have noticed the uptick in donations and their attribution in honor of Fandom Trumps Hate. Our pooled donations to small orgs DO make a difference!

If you've not made your donations yet and wanted to select an org or two that wasn't getting as much attention as the others, our Environmental orgs are collectively only just receiving 10%, and our Voting/Democracy orgs just 8%. Remember that donations for your winning bids are due by March 19, and 2nd chance offers are due by March 24.
