i dont know where to scream about this but i honestly feel some sort of weird relief that r//nbow high is declining. i knoooow i know it's popular and they've been such high quality dolls and collectors have loved them and some(?) people like the web series (or do they? ive heard mixed things but ive never had any interest in watching it) but oh god. i just. sometimes it takes me awhile to appreciate modern doll lines and their aesthetics but i just could not get past their weird fish faces and in general i do not like monochrome styling themes. i realize their designers did so much with their concepts, i realize a lot of heart and effort went into them, and i completely understand why so many people were floored with the quality of the dolls and the rate at which they were being put out. even though the prices kept rising for them, you could at least see where your money was going, like they were always so well-constructed and doing new things. but like. at the end of the day. on a very basic level they were just never all that aesthetically pleasing to me and it was kind of maddening to see all that potential going towards a line of dolls that had just... like... facial proportions i could not get past lol.

"this is not ____ what????" bc so many writers like to water down their personalities for the sex appeal like you said— like it'll be the BIGGEST of sweethearts and then they'll be written like some sorta discord moderator ☠️☠️

which, like i said, is a reason why i dont read smut bc i totally agree with you with the fact that i prefer reading stuff where it actually. feels like the character (like ur content.. mwah)

tbh — i don't really care if people don't write content specifically catered to males ! cuz like u said i understand the difficulty especially w/ smut when ur just super unfamiliar with it ++ writers will tend to project too, i just dislike when it almost misleads you when they say its genderneutral and then immediately uses pronouns or fem terms HAHA

Yeahhh lol smut is very... specific, especially on tumblr. It's taken me a long time to realize the different brands of writers on this site. There's a lot of blogs that have high followings, and I think it's more about quantity than quality. A lot of writers will write for several characters all at once, and there's a bigger demand for their writing because of their content and popularity. Hence, you're making things a lot quicker, focusing more on things like the quality of the smut rather than the portrayal of the character. Characters will get narrowed down into sections- dominant, submissive, or S&M daddy. Lol. It works for some people, but not really for me.

A little off topic but in the same breath of things being fem/neutral/male ... every so often when i browse tags, i see people complaining about how there isn't enough content for m!readers or neutral, sometimes I even see posts where people don't want fem aligned persons to interact with their posts period "because its not for you, you already have enough". That whole mentality bothers me. (I'm about to go on a tangent, and this is thoughts of my own, nothing to do with what you've said, just in case you think im talking about you or anything like that)

It's true that fem readers are the majority, and it's because women take up the majority of fandom. From most to least in every fandom to exist, its afab women, gender neutral afab persons, ftm men, and then in the lesser pool is gn amab persons. Somewhere in there is mtf and i have no idea where they lie in the pool honestly. This is just my observation from being in fandom for awhile and being ftm once upon a time (before people yell at me, im more comfortably genderfluid now and rather lax about my presentation and gender nowadays, but i used to be dysphoric and was transitioning strictly to male). It makes sense that AFAB readers are the majority considering the people behind the content. You come a long way before you realize that there's literally nothing wrong with this.

I used to get upset about lack of representation in fics as well, especially when i was transitioning. I was extremely petty and hateful toward writers that were in the majority and toward women in fandom. It wasn't until i decided to grow up that i realized this wasn't helping anything, it was just keeping me in a bad headspace to think that complaining and hatred was my answer. My answer was finding a community of my own and writing my own fics, feeding myself the content i wanted to read. Realizing it was nobodies responsibility to create content for me besides my own. Is it nice when you get lucky and find that content? Of course. It's such a wonderful treat. But you are not due that content, nobody on the internet should have the expectation they will be catered to. To believe they are owed it. We are owed nothing from strangers.

People need to realize that writers on tumblr or otherwise, for reader inserts or ships, we don't write for the audience. It's part of it, yes, because its fun to share and motivating. But its no one's responsibility to represent and carry a community on their shoulders. If someone is going to write fem aligned reader insert smut, that was birthed out of their desire to write it and eat it whole. It was made for them and expressed outward onto the internet for others to enjoy if they have the same interest. But it isn't anyone's responsibility or need to write for you, to write for GN readers if they dont want to. It doesnt make them transphobic or narrow minded. It will make YOU narrow minded if you believe you deserve content just because you're part of a minority and if you arent catered to, you're allowed to be spiteful.

Open mindedness goes a long way. I've become a lot happier ever since I realized that people lead their own lives, create their own content for the sake of making themselves happy, and I do the exact same. I don't owe anyone anything. The internet can become a hive mind and what seems like a reality of it's own, but truthfully everything is surface level. Nothing matters if you don't want it to. Catering your own experience is amazing once you realize you have the ability.

i feel you 😔 it took me months because i'm a proud owner of oily scalp. what worked for me was 1. scalp exfoliation 2. non-sls products 3. coming to terms with having high porosity wavy hair 4. using conditioner to wash my hair

1. scalp exfoliation is basically using either peelings or shampoo brushes. all those hair peelings that are basically scrubs should be illegal, rinsing them out wastes so much water. i use a chemical peel with aha, i spread it on wet scalp, leave on for 5-10 mins, rinse and wash my hair normally. normally as in i use shampoo twice, first time is quick wash and second time i leave it for 1 minute and i massage it all over my scalp (with brush, unless i used a peeling). i don't use shampoo on ends, i sometimes i put a little conditioner on (wet) ends before i even step in the shower, to protect them. after i rinse the shampoo, i put on conditioner and proceed to wash my body. i rinse it at the end just as i rinse my body, and lastly i use a gel/foam to wash off any shampoo/conditioner resuide off my face

2. checking water quality in your area is key. there are studies how hard water and sls products mixed together leave resuide not only in your bathroom but also on your skin. the challenge is to find a non-sls shampoo that isn't too conditioning for an oily scalp. not only my hair is less greasy now, but also combined with scalp care my hair has more volume and doesn't get as oily as fast. non-sls shower gels also made my skin less dry

4. when i don't feel like my hair is oily enough to wash it but i sweated a lot that day or something, i quickly wet it, use non-silicone conditioner, little scalp brush action and rinse it with warm water (normally i rinse with lukewarm/cold water). i do use dry shampoo to re-fresh too, the trick for me is to spray the roots before i go to bed so starch absorbs all oils and it doesn't look crusty, or before i shower so the steam etc helps it work faster, idk the science

I learned in elementary school (mandatory sex ed in my country) although it was super cisheteronormative + I was the only pubescent kid in my class at the time (9yo) I asked questions after class, and my mother got very mad at me bc she didn't want the educator to think my mother couldn't answer my questions herself. I dont think my mother ever explained things clearly to me tho, except that she told me I got my puberty earlier than the other kids bc "mixed girls grow up/mature faster" (my mother is white for context). Sexuality was very much a taboo at home. Given that i discovered masturbation/orgasms by total accident when I was 17 i dont think the sex ed I got was ever. You know. Good lol. Also yeah my country (France) had mandatory sex ed but I was told in high school that men can't get raped because they "can't get penetrated" in 2013 so. The quality of the sex ed isn't there lol. At least I was never told sex was a sin or thats youd die of an std if you had sex. Mixed bag! Idk if thats relevant to your research, interesting topic for sure

gonna get a bit controversal here probably XD

i was literally just talking about my ranking earlier today with a friend, so here's my personal take. keep in mind, some of these games i haven't played since i was a small kid, and like... i know i played phantom hourglass but i cant remember a damn thing about it so i wont be including it. ive got some stuff like that. i've played like nine zelda games or something but these are the only ones i feel like i remember/experienced enough to rank.

twilight princess and breath of the wild are nearly tied for me. they're different kinds of games, so which one is "better" really depends on what im in the mood for (and what your particular style of gaming is), but i think they're two of the best games of all time and would recommend them to just about anybody who is open to that genre of game.

then honestly i would probably put spirit tracks or skyward sword after those two. its been a long time since i played spirit tracks but i remember really liking it as a kid. conversely, i was just replaying skyward sword in the hd remaster and while i remember loving it the first time i played it as a kid (not considering it as good as twilight princess, but still good), i didnt enjoy it nearly as much on this playthrough. i think the gameplay just isn't fun enough to carry the whole thing for me when i already know the story, but the first time i played it i was clinging onto every line so i loved it. like, i remember when i finished the scorpion fight and the sand drained away being like omg!! it looks like the hub from spirit tracks i wonder how it all fits!! so i'd definitely recommend skyward sword to a zelda fan, but probably not to someone who has never played the series before. i think the back half of the dungeons are distinctly more fun than the first half, which is kind of the opposite of what you want because i was like "come on, just get through sky view, and eldin, and the mining facility, and then you'll get to do the dragons." (flooded faron is my favorite level btw).

next is probably link's awakening. i played the remaster (never the original) and enjoyed it. i thought the remaster was INCREDIBLY done, such a cute and fun and high quality style with a beautiful result, all while preserving a lot of the original look and probably some of the feel too (at least from what ive played of the original zelda, which isn't much).

next is probably a link between worlds (on 3DS). i got pretty far and i think i stopped just because i started feeling lukewarm on it due to the difficulty curve (i have a lot tougher time with handheld games than controllers, and consoles are already harder for me than mouse and keyboard in general) and the story wasn't interesting enough to pull me back in. because of that, i wouldn't really Recommend a link between worlds unless you're already a zelda fan and have played the others above.

here's the controversial part, but i put ocarina of time at the bottom. i know so many people love it, so i was really excited to play it when it came out for the 3DS, but... that game was such a slog. i stopped about halfway through the game not because i was stuck, but because i wasn't having any fun. i think part of it was the low res art (the game was visually muddy, unengaging, and just kind of hard to discern), but ive played a lot of low res or even 8bit art games (my first video game ever was super mario bros for the NES, which came out 14 years before ocarina and obviously has much worse graphics), so part of it has to be the game, and visuals alone dont make a game boring. like i said, i was kinda bored at parts of skyward sword this playthrough and it's such a gorgeous game. being unengaging visually made it harder to get into the gameplay, but that wasn't all it was for me.

#now i will be ostracized from the entire zelda fandom #but i just truly do not understand the hype i didnt like it fjnggfnjk #i REALLY wanna play windwaker tho #and i would probably like to play majora's mask as well #ill play the hd windwaker at some point #but i think it's for the wii u?? which i never owned #so i'd have to play it with dolphin and see what controller i could make work with that #ill look into it one day XD #ask #cassandralexxx

ok first of all your english is really good, dont apologize <3 second of all yeah i can give some advice! keep in mind that i am not a professional by any means, im just a 20 y/o who's mostly self taught. took a couple of classes in high school but honestly they didnt teach me much beyond what i already knew unfortunately. still, self taught is something, and clearly my art is decent enough that people enjoy it and are coming to me for advice, so! here's a list of advice i can think of.

stop using photoshop. this might be a bold one to start out with, but don't use photoshop for drawing, man. i know how to use photoshop REALLY well, i'm like taught in it. and that program is ASS even at editing photos, much less drawing. it's outdated and overpriced and really needs to stop being an industry standard. it's one thing if that's the program you've been using for years and you're comfortable with it, but if you're just starting out? ditch that shit. i personally use both sai2 and clip studio paint, but both of those are paid programs. not that i paid for them, but yknow. if you don't want to pirate or pay, some good free programs include krita and sketchbook pro ! also most programs come with a free trial you can test out.

the deform tool is ABSOLUTELY your friend, especially in the sketching phase. the face looks a little off? adjust it a bit instead of redrawing it. make it look perfect. leg not in the proper place? grab it and move it! just keep in mind that you should generally do this before you line/paint/etc. it's best to make these adjustments to the sketch, because oftentimes deforming something will reduce the quality of it. this depends on both the program and the amount of adjustment being done, but as just a general rule best to get this out of the way early on.

flip your canvas. a lot. this will REALLY help you. say you're drawing a guy standing up straight, and you're like huh, this looks kinda weird, but i can't tell why. it just looks super off for some reason. flip the canvas, and i can promise you that that drawing will be leaning all sorts of ways that will be immediately obvious to you once you're looking at it from that angle. make it look good from that angle too and it'll look WAY better from the normal angle.

on the same note, rotate your canvas! it'll really help you out just like rotating a piece of paper when you're drawing traditionally. a lot of people seem to just... not want to do this for some reason? but it's really a big help.

using references isn't just okay, it's something you should ABSOLUTELY be doing. idk why people online used to constantly cry about how using references is cheating, but it's not. using references is a great aid and will drastically improve your art.

use clipping masks !! say, you want to put some sparkles on your character, but you only want them on the character, not the background. instead of tediously going around the character and erasing the leftover sparkles from your brush, you can just make the layer of sparkles a clipping mask above your character layer, and that's it. no cleanup necessary, it'll only be on your character. this is a HUGE help.

experiment with shit!!!! play with brush settings, layer effects, textures, anything. get to know your program, and use everything you have at your disposal. nothing worse than finding out about a feature and thinking 'awh man i wish i knew about this three year earlier' but you just never found it because you never bothered clicking on that button.

In like ep 4 of hey arnold, Helga has a crisis over not being girly enough and being excluded from both "girl" activities and "boy" activities.

Pretty much everyone is kind of both helga's friend, and her victims? She can bully literally anyone (she's particularly mean to phoebe in this episode bc she perceives phoebe as also excluding her for lacking girl qualities) and like now that I'm grown I really can relate to this? Everyone in school was afraid of me bc I was kind of tall (I had a fully mature body in fifth grade. It was shitty.) So they were all really mean about weird stuff? I didnt fit in with the boys because I was just an ugly girl - and I didn't fit in with the girls for pretty much the same reason. I could hang out with the boys OR the girls too - the boys would accept me bc I was big and not girly, and the girls would accept me because I was big and not girls. Its a really weird thing to explain.

Anyway, at one point in the episode, Helga gets super frustrated with everyone "misgendering" her (not the intention at the time of the episode but honestly it translates really well now) and decides to do girl things to be accepted by other girls, therefore affirming she is also a girl. Phoebe becomes frustrated with this lie Helga is telling - its not the real her and its not the person phoebe thinks is cool (even though phoebe "rejected" Helga earlier, which was really just phoebe being curious about girliness rather than a dig at her friend) so as Helga tells her to fuck off and goes to get guac'd by Rhonda, she's like WAIT... and she goes *in depth* about why this "girl stuff" isn't even really girl stuff - they don't need to take care of their skin and watch for signs of aging, they're nine!!! They don't need high heels, they're taller than the boys!!! Helga says WHY R WE DOING THIS... IS THIS REALLY FUN RHONDA? And Rhonda just tells her "we're supposed to do this stuff.... its in the magazines"

And im like wow. Yknow. I wasn't consuming media as a kid, I was watching the kids around me wondering why I couldn't be/look/act more like them. Even now, I dont pay attention to trends in fashion/media because I do not care. But I do care about the people around me and want them to accept me, even if im not watering myself down anymore. Its just a really interesting thing to think about - hey arnold had a lot to say as a 90's show but this is actually one of my favorite episodes because of the moment they tie Harold up and put him in a dress and makeup while doing his nails and all the girls are having a blast while Rhonda phoebe and Helga are like this is AWESOME

the personal impact undertale has had on me cannot be overstated, it came out what must be nearly a decade ago now and i've rewatched playthroughs of it what must be a thousands times over. i get emotional whenever i hear some of the songs, the quality of the music is insanely high and has the same kind of link to all my childhood memories as the minecraft soundtrack does.

i don't think i can ever truly understand just how much games have had an impact on my life as an artform, the amount of effort it takes for someone to make something like some of the games i've played over the years is unfathomable to me.

the fact that games like persona 5, minecraft, undertale, hollow knight, and other games like them can have the emotional impact that they have is something almost completely unique to video games. The way games mix with music is extremely special, and it makes them all so memorable and so much better to experience.

I fully think music may be one of the most important parts of a game, and can make one of the best tools for all sorts of things video games do. whenever i think of a game, i think of its music more than i do the gameplay. music may even be more important to me then the games themselves.

I fully understand some games are bad, but alot of them have really good music; and while that isn't what makes games good, it is what makes them so memorable. When i think of games i grew up with like super smash brothers brawl, i dont think of the gameplay. What i think of about that game is all the memories i have of playing with my sister; and it's the music that makes me remember all of that. the game wasn't neccesarily good, but the music what so unique and so good that it became directly linked to those experiences and thus to me.

Are there any verses to combat having low self esteem? I've been the ugly sister, the ugly friend, the ugly ___ for a long time. I have a step sister who's just perfect and popular.. guys would only acknowledge me to ask about her. The one guy I could think of as a bf since we just started dating I brought to dinner and she captivated him. Left me to try and date her, she basically ignored him since hes my age and younger than her, then tried to come back to me. Im glad that I rejected him and ignored him too but that whole thing hurt like..wow.. I dont drink either. I'd go along with my friend to a bar and order like..seltzer water while she enjoys all the attention. Shes a model so it's common. Then some random guy would try to entertain me as my friend flirts with his friend or friends that's really into her. but the one that talks to me isnt talking to me because he likes me. Hes a wingman trying to push away the ugly friend from the hot one. Literally it's a real tactic so many guys use. Not just at bars but anywhere. And it happened to me... I just honestly fake feeling sick or just leave. It hurts.

But yeah, people aren't equal regarding beauty....and that's okay. Maybe you are very young, but you'll realize soon enough that beauty and attractivity aren't necessary mutual. Beside, it's interesting how people will get insecure over not being "pretty enough", but will never get envious of other qualities they find in other. Hardly anyone today is like "my friend is super generous and it makes me self conscious" 😭 ...like, hun, what you feel is just a consequence of society ridiculous obsession with physical beauty over anything else.

I too knew very pretty girls, and you know what? past a certain time, their features aren't that wow'ing anymore, and they awful personality (when they are awful people) clouds their overall vibe. One in particular was a colleague of mine was very pretty and she was regularly getting asked her number, but all relationships were messy because she didn't have the actual personality to back it up (the fact she was only dating dusties didn't help too). Beauty doesn't buy respect.

So yeah, you girl friend captivating men doesn't men she'll get a better romantic life than you. She might've won the genetic lottery but nothing beats actual character idc. Everyone gets old, your body changes, and having a pretty face at your prime isn't a guarantee of being as much desirable throughout your whole life. #prettyprivilege is entertained both by insecure people who think their romantic shortcomings are only the fault of their looks (and not... personality) AND narcissists who think rando being kind to them bc of their attractiveness give them somehow an overall upper social value in society..

Nobody wins at life for simply being "pretty". Or at least only for a while. Brains and personality will stay forever though so you should rather try to capitalize on it rather than looks and trying to put up with your friend's beauty😏

You dodged a bullet big time with your date who threw you under the bus try his chance with you friend ; and she's definitely a good friend for turning him down💝 (hopefully his age isn't the only thing that stopped her from dating him lol)

The whole wingman strategy is indeed quite common for men experienced in chasing women, but as I said earlier being pretty isn't a guarantee you'll attract high value men. Sorry but this whole plot to seduce a woman whime distracting their friend is corny. A self confident man doesn't do that.

If that situation makes you feel sick maybe the best solution would be to stop hanging around with your friend if there's only the 2 of you? I know this might sound radical but you shouldn't let your friendship hurt you like that. You have to prioritize yourself first.

Beside, and I really don't want to sound shady, but pretty girls too have their own strategy and purposely hang around girls they know her less pretty than them to come off more appealing, so beware... From my experience, I'd advise you to never hang out with people triggering your insecurities. You'll always end up losing :/

unfortunately not a lot of gloves actually offer good wrist support, they only really offer a buffer on your knuckles and cushion the blow a bit when you're talking on your hands. keeping your wrists straight is up to you (which sucks for people like me who cant straighten their wrists for the life of them)

it's maybe possible that something like hand wraps or even tensor bandages will help with wrist support, but i'm not really sure if it would work super well. nothing like that really exists right now which isn't an actual medical device that you probably need to special order :0/

but my MMA gloves are everlast everfresh from amazon (which are about 30$CAD) :0) MMA are probably the cheapest options, ranging from about 20-60CAD depending on the brand & quality. but mostly the brand, you're not using these for actual mma fighting so you dont need ultra-high quality

Correction, Castiel was in his celestial form. He spoke to Dean 10 minutes out of his grave, not hiding. Just not in a human vessel and able to communicate. Also, Pamela's eyes were burned out because she was trying to see Cas' true form. He warned her, both Pamela and Cas say that he warned her. Again, no Cas wasn't in his vessel yet. This is my personal theory. Cas made the assumption that because Dean felt special to him and because he was the vessel that he could or should be able to hear him. *coughs* I will explain human relationships to you because you're missing the point. When people totally fuck up, in a biblical sense, those things don't simply go away. Sometimes people need space and perspective. Spending all day, every day in a high-stress environment with someone who is pretty much your opposite in every way is hard on the most balanced of individuals. The Winchesters are not the most balanced of individuals and occasionally they need distance. Cas, like a good friend, fills the space until the boys are back on track.

Then you have Cas hitting Dean's radar as innocent. He becomes the person he wanted his dad to be. He is kind and forgiving and lenient. Adults usually don't get this side of Dean but Cas does. Cas is different. He has always been different, it is mentioned throughout Canon that Cas has always been emotional. Maybe one day they will address why, my personal theory is that Chuck made him that way, just a little bit more feeling than the others and when Cas touched dean's soul in Hell, it lit up his feelings like a Christmas tree. Additionally, Cas sees the Winchesters fighting, they fight and the for humanity, for each other and with them as his role models his moral compass stays slightly truer north than his siblings. Other nice angels include Balthazar, Joshua, Hannah.

I hate to correct you (nah I dont, I love it) but there is no finite, no limitation on their forgivness and its predominantly because of their base personalities. Both Dean and Cas punish themselves more than anyone else ever could. So even when someone else hurts them its never as bad as what they do to themselves. In a way the physical beat downs they give eachother actually strengthen the bond. Every time they fight, one of them stops or walks away. They break the momentum because they love eachother. The love is what stops it, love is the forgivness and they  will always forgive eachother because no-one can punish them more than they do. They are eachothers mirror, they see it. It's another reason why Dean forgives Cas so quickly because Dean knows how bad the angel punishes himself, Dean feels that because he does the same. So he forgives and will continue to do so.

This is simply not true. Dean Winchester doesn't expect anyone to help him ever. He assumes that he is always alone. Exceptions include when Sam is hurt, he asks Cas. There are multiple scenes where Dean gets a confused expression on his face when talking to Casifer but ultimately he's not sure if he's sure. Most of Casifer's interactions with the boys are brief because Lucifer knows they will figure it out. In addition, Cas says yes in episode 10 and Lucifer reveals himself in episode 14. So... really you're punishing Dean for not noticing in several minor interactions over three episodes. Rude.
