(Photo of artist Dora de Larios during 2017 open studio)
CAM:
This news was brought to us this week from artist Dora de Larios’ daughter Sabrina. We thought this was important to share with you readers about our dear friend Dora and show support for this creative force.
Dora De Larios Health Care Fundraiser - Art for Sale
10am-4pm  Saturday, December 16, 2017
Dora’s Studio
8560 Venice Blvd.
Los Angeles, CA 90034
Hello,
We have extremely sad news to share. Dora is in hospice care at home. She is holding steady for now but it has been a very rough month for her. We are keeping her as comfortable as possible, she has 24hr a day, 7 days a week home caregivers. As most of you know, she has been fighting cancer since 2014. She continues to fight and create even now. When she is feeling good enough she paints and draws at home - she is making some beautiful paintings.
Due to the extremely high cost of 24/7 caregivers we are selling Dora’s work to raise funds for her care.
This is a unique opportunity to buy a wonderful piece of art and support a true artist in need. We will have vessels, sculptures, bowls, plaques and new paintings and drawings. Dora’s work is even more precious now.
We hope to see you at the studio. Thank you so much for all of your support throughout the years.
Warm regards,
Sabrina

Collaboration of Design & Art
Dora De Larios
Los Angeles, CA
Architectural Ceramics/Mosaics
To survey the landscape of Dora De Larios' creative vision, one must travel not only to cities around the globe—where her large-scale architectural sculptures speak a universal language—but also to the ancient past of all civilizations from which her inspiration springs. Whether in intimate ceramic pieces or massive mixed-media commissions, De Larios strives to harmonize the animal and the spiritual, and the earthly with the divine. Her studies of world religions and ancient art at the University of Southern California—along with her travels around the world and her upbringing in ethnically diverse Los Angeles—account for her unique cross-cultural influences.
