“I read that book you were talking about.” Marlene spoke after a moment. “The bluest eye, I mean.”

Dorcas’s eyes were on her in an instant. Almost too stunned to speak. Almost. “You read a book I talked about?!” She asked sceptically.

Marlene just laughed. “I do read you know. No need to doubt my ability.”

Dorcas hadn’t been doubting her ability at all. It was just that she couldn’t imagine Marlene McKinnon sitting still long enough to read a book, just because Dorcas had talked about it.

“Anyway,” Marlene continued. “It was good. Really good. Lily had a copy on her shelf, so I stole that. And I really see what you were saying about that one quote. How does it go… ‘We mistook violence for passion, indolence for leisure, and thought recklessness was freedom’…”

Marlene kept speaking, but Dorcas had stopped listening. She was too hooked on how that quote had sounded between Marlene’s lips. Her favourite quote. Marlene’s lips.

Dorcas’s feeble mind couldn’t focus on anything else. Because for one, Marlene McKinnon, miss ‘I don’t read unless I’m forced to do so’, had read a book Dorcas had talked about once. And two, she’d remembered which quote was Dorcas’s favourite. Word for word.

Dorcas looked calm, if a little pissed off, and Marlene found herself thinking that Dorcas looked good slightly annoyed. She looked strong. Powerful. Given that Marlene was about to be on the firing end of her wand she really should have been more scared by that.

GUYS I NEED HELP AGAIN SOS SOS

so i read a fic and i can't find it for the life of me but essentially regulus barty and evan end up living with the potters and running away and the way it happened was regulus talking to effie (i think after a uidditch game??) and asking if she had any spare rooms available and she was like "ofc we do!! yo we have like 12" (or he heard the 12 from someone else idk but the 12 was THERE) and he was like "how about three?" and she was a little confused like yeah sure but why do y want three and he was like well i was hoping my friends could tag along if that's alright and she was like ofc ofc!!!

so regulus tells barty and evan and they're like holy shit we're really doing this and then the three of them go with the potters and sirius that break or summer or whatever it was and they show up in the front lawn and they're like holy shit this place is NICEEEEE (girrllllll)

BUT the potters house is MAGIC. like think encanto it listens to them and it gets james when they're ready for a tour and there's beginner curse breaker objects in evan's room for him to practice on and there's some potions stuff in regulus'.

and there was also another part in the story where fleamont catches regulus and james making out in james' room and regulus is mortified and james is like babe it's literally fine they're not gonna care. and like there's another part where like james is a virgin and shit and i think everyone was asking them when they were gonna fuck and like it just hadn't happened yet BUT THEN IT DOES HAPPEN A COUPLE CHAPTER LATER and it's like this whole thing where james tries to take it nice and sweet and slow and regulus is like girl what u doin and tries goin fast like "THIS is sex james" and james is like babe can we just try it my way this time? CAUSE it LIKE ITS HIS FIRST TIME RIGHT and regulus is like oh shit i've fucked up im so sorry and james is like no literally it's fine just trust me on this and it's nice and sweet and shit and regulus is like oh i didn't know it could be like this and james is all sweet and shit.

then they go downstairs and everyone IMMEDIATELY knows they fucked.

and like there's more and i'm pretty sure it was completed and on ao3 but i can't remember ANYTHING else
