One thing that bugs me about Multiverse of Madness is we’re supposed to believe this is a world in which Wanda can access any possible reality and is trying to find the perfect reality but she doesn’t even look for Vision??? We got like two mentions of Vision and that’s it. When Vision is one of the most important things to Wanda along with her kids. I just don’t understand why Wanda wasn’t looking for a reality with Vision and the twins??

marvel should have pulled a spiderman nwh and not overhype it because dr strange mom didn't live the expectations up AT ALL they sold the movie like this big thing that was going to connect everything and ??? nowhere to be found but what bothers me the most is the end for wanda and the scarlett witch. wanda might not be dead but the witch probably is so that means that wanda's journey throughout wandavision meant nothing the pain, the trauma that led her to her destiny? fucking gone. they better give me back wanda and the scarlett witch or else it's on sight. really marvel??? make the female character you keep traumatizing kword herself? oh, how original.
also, the power of the script is truly real in this lmao
edit: just saw the screenwriter for this shit is also loki's lmao that makes a lot of sense but it's funny how he totally ignored the multiversal war he wrote for a show premiered less than a year ago. michael "i dont know what your last name is" you're on sight you could have at least watched a wandavision commentary on youtube and not fuck her character up before you decided to kill her

One opportunity that Multiverse of Madness did miss IMO was having a full Wanda vs Wanda fight. I mean Wanda squared up against basically all characters in the movie (and rightly f**ked them up) but Alt!Wanda was surprisingly tame considering any Wanda would do anything for her children. You would think that she'd know how not to let her mind be infiltrated or at least know something was up. And she didn't even put up a fight once Wanda was really there. Maybe Wanda targeted this one specifically because she saw that this Wanda had dialed back on the magic (and thus was perhaps the happiest and the 'weakest') but yeah .. if there was any character who could hold their own against Wanda... it would be another Wanda

i hated everything about the plot leak but especially this line: Wanda defeats Strange but he inspires Chavez, which makes her get full control over her powers. like of course the young poc girl gains control over her powers after being inspired by the white straight cis dude. what else could happen??(also wanda fans are going to be so fucking annoying and i hate this whole movie already)

Me: Trauma to Villainry is an overused and problematic trope, especially with powerful female characters, made worse when the 'best' redemption for said villain is to kill themselves instead of receiving the therapy and support they should have had to begin with.
Also me, except gay and horny: Crush me, scary witch lady.

Can't lie, I have no strong feelings either way about Multiverse of Madness. I'm a huge Sam Raimi fan so it was great to see him and Bruce Campbell back. Honestly, the Evil Dead references were my favorite part.
Otherwise, I thought the script was bad and lacked any character development or depth. I'm a big Young Avengers fan and America was kind of disappointing and I'm nervous about Billy and Tommy never being aged up. And Dr Strange was easily the least interesting character in the movie.
Anyway, go watch Everything Everywhere All At Once. It fully explores the multiverse concept, it's so funny and emotional, I've seen it a few times and I sob during the entire 3rd act everytime. I promise it's worth it if you're able to go to movie theaters.

Supreme Strange VS Sinister Strange
Tumblr media
I have seen that, despite being variants of Doctor Strange that made basically the same thing (destroy their universes), they are percieved in different ways by the fandom.
I'm here to talk about why is that, and through the differences on their actions.
Sinister Strange basically:
Used the Darkhold to see if there was any universe where he was together with Christine.
Prolongued use of Darkhold lead to corruption on him in the meantime
When found no happy version of him with the loved one, he got angry and fucking murdered all of those versions who lived without her.
Not only murdered other versions of him out of frustrated obsession over his unstatisfied love, but carelessly turned his universe into a ruin while doing it (not clear if he just didn't care about the consecuences or did it on purpose, but I bet is the first one) which means he killed the Christine of his universe by killing the other versions of him that reminded that their love seemed no possible instead of actually trying to get back together with her.
When a variant of him came to make a respectful request, he told him he would only let the other him use the Darkhold to save the multiverse if he, quote "gave him his Christine" (did he meant the one on the respective universe, or the one he saw outside?). Variant answers sensible thing that basically implies "dude, she's not mine or an object, it's her you have to ask to, and you really think she's up for staying on this death trap?" which basically starts the fight.
So, Sinister Strange is the Yandere Dr Strange.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Strange:
Got devastaded for the loss of his loved one. And learned magick in the first place in the search for a way to bring her back, but learned on the studies that goal was a bad idea.
Decided to use the Time Stone to go back in time and save her. Allong the MANY tries, we see that his main goal is for her to be alive and healthy, even if that meant they were not together (he would have loved to be still with her, but was willing to let her have another life as long she was alive).
Regular Time Stone plan failed, so tried a different aproach through studies of time, which meant gain power and turn himself into another thing. So far, this step was a MERE POWER UP, he wasn't trying to hurt anyone.
Becomes obsessed into his goal, to the point of oversee the consecuenses of his actions. He gets to absorb the other half of himself that is trying to tell him what he's doing, and he refuses to listen.
He reaches his goal, but it becomes a 1000 level of reality check when Christine is scared of him, which he could have got over of if bringing her back hadn't destroyed the universe.
He realises his mistake and tries to fix it, and tries to bargain so he would be the one punished as long and everyone else is saved, but no results. He ends all alone in a tiny universe with his INMENSE GRIEF AND GUILT.
He's later called to save the multiverse and he says yes, by that time he is a little more collected and has learned his lesson.
So he's mostly an OP Emo Dr Strange.
Or in other words, Sinister Strange is the Strange who would endanger the multiverse and kidnap 838 Christine (for example, since he has already seen her) and Supreme Strange would be the one who does this:
Tumblr media
Then he would give 838 Christine a ride home, be his akward self along the way, give her a hug goodbye, and then come back to Sinister Strange for this:
Tumblr media
Or, other way to put the main difference between them is that only one of them is boyfriend material.

Rant from someone who watched Multiverse of Madness like a few minutes ago: tbh that shit was laughably bad; painfully mediocre. Agonizingly predictable, the writing really brought everything else down. The only satisfying moment was (SPOILER AHEAD) Wanda brutality killing Captain Carter and the rest of the Illuminati. Cause I genuinely don’t like Peggy (that Nazi hiring asshole who Marvel thinks is a hero). And I don’t care about shitty cameos. No Way Home in terms of fan service and literally everything else were leagues better, that movie at least deserved some of the hype it got. And that’s coming from a person who only like it somewhat. Two hours of bullshit; two hours of waiting for something actually interesting to happen. Two hours of watching Mike Waldron butcher one of my favorite characters in the most ridiculously predictable way possible. Such a waste. Genuinely sitting here thinking "that was it?" I’m probably overreacting, but also fuck that.
wow i am so done with the travesty that is the mcu at this point that i legit forgot it was coming out today. so sorry mike waldron got his hands on one of your faves. yeah im not surprised bc even when mike likes a character and tries to do his best with them his appalling lack of talent (and his deep bigotry and pro fascist stances) sink any project he’s associated with.

Spoilers for Multiverse of Madness below!
Well, I just got out of seeing Multiverse of Madness and as a Wanda fan I have to say i’m disappointed. It feels like this movie did everything it could to undo Wanda’s character development from Wandavision. At the end of Wandavision we see that Wanda decides to set the town of Westview free even if it means sacrificing her children and a perfect life. Because she doesn’t want to hurt the town. But at the very start of MoM we see a Wanda who is willing to destroy and kill and kidnap a child to get her kids back. And the only reason we have is the Darkhold? I understand the whole point of the movie was the corruption of the Darkhold. But Evil Magic Book is just not the most compelling device for plot and character development to me.
And then by the end of the movie we see Wanda accept that she can’t bring her kids back and it’s not worth the harm she’s causing. Which is…..right where she was at the end of Wandavision? So basically the whole movie was just undoing and redoing Wanda’s character development from Wandavision. So now we have a Wanda who is at the same place she was before the movie but less powerful and possibly dead?

I really wish they'd handled Loki's villain arc (in the terms of how utterly terrifying) like Wanda's. He deserves to be horrifying. :(
