Grim: Shaved ice! Yuuuum, hurry and give me some!

Ace: Me too, me too! Every day's so hot, I'd been wanting to have something like ice cream.

Lilia: Kufufu, no need to fret.

Lilia: Now then, I'll take this bucket full of ice, and… DO THIS!

[CRACK!]

Ace: All the ice just shattered from that hand chop!?

Azul: I would like to have pineapple flavored syrup. It should have a nice tartness to it for a crisp taste.

Jack: I'll… try the mango. If I'm going to eat it with ice, I'd rather have a richer flavor.

Ace: Lilia-senpai, can I have both?

Floyd: Oh, is that allowed? Then I want both too～

Lilia: Here's the mango flavored one. And this one's the pineapple. And a combo for Ace and Floyd.

Jack: It's so cold and delicious. It's refreshing and I feel like this is a nice way to cool down.

Floyd: Yup. I thought it'd be nothing special 'cause it's just fruit juice over ice, but this syrup is pretty bangin'.

Ace: This syrup rocks! The parts where the mango and pineapple mix together is the best part.

Azul: What, really? Urk, I should have also chosen to have both…

Lilia: I just tried copying this one snack I tasted during one of my trips to a tropical country.

Lilia: In the past, there was many a time that I had to make this sort of thing. When it comes to frozen desserts, I'm really quite particular.

Lilia: At first, I was only able to make simple dishes, like shaved ice with drizzled nectar or fruit juice…

Lilia: But there was this one guy who would just revel at eating the shaved ice I'd make him.

Lilia: I thought he'd get bored of continuously eating the same thing, so I tried to make it look more and more gorgeous, adding condensed milk or honey-soaked fruit to them.

Lilia: Back then, I wasn't very used to cooking, but I bet if I tried again now, I could probably make something much fancier.

Lilia: Alright, Lilia's Super Deluxe Uninhabited Island Special is ready! Come, eat it before it melts.

Lilia: A tricycle carrying a silver box was parked on the side of the road. They were selling shaved ice to those walking by.

Lilia: Eating shaved ice with a ton of syrup on a hot day is the absolute best. You should try it sometime.

Riddle: Eating while walking is… Ah, never mind. Yes, alright. Perhaps if the occasion arises.

Riddle: Based on your anecdote just now, it may be that Stitch here is from a more tropical region.

Lilia: I get it. There's a certain "someone" you want to share this delicious shaved ice with.

Lilia: Maybe once we escape from this island, it may be a good chance to try my hand at it again.

Riddle: Eating it with people is what makes it delicious, hm.

Riddle: Lilia-senpai, please teach me the recipe as well.

Dragon Ball is possibly one of the most narratively convenient settings, as no matter what weird idea you have there's multiple ways to justify it in-universe.

Weird stuff on Earth? Dragon Balls (in fact we're straight-up told that the world government was established by some guy wishing himself king, and Pilaf tried it multiple times), or a literal wizard did it, or one of the mad scientists did it (we have Doctor Brief, Bulma, Gero, Frappe, Vomi, Gedo, Senbei Norimaki, Turbo Norimaki, Mashrit, Mashrit jr., Tsuruten, and Tokunoshin Omori... That we know of).

Weird guy on Earth? Maybe he's an alien, or they learned magic, or maybe King Piccolo spat out a mutant with some specialized skill.

Weird stuff or guys on other planets? There's at least two other sets of Dragon Balls around (three counting the Black Star set), aliens capable of using magic, and the creator god had all his teachers killed early in his instruction and may have screwed up.

We do not talk about the Black Star Dragon Balls.

Anyway yeah one of the reasons I prefer earlier Dragon Ball over Z is the fact that weird shit happens and nobody bats an eye. Puar is a cat who talks and went to Shapeshifting Kindergarten with Oolong. That's just a thing.

Caramel Frappe : Favorite video game?

Dragon Age: Origins. Sure, I have to put up with the Brecillian Forest, & that "trapped in The Fade" chunk of the circle recruitment quest, but that doesn't stop this from being one of my favorite games. Its the one that gave me Dragon Age Brain Worms & has me suffering through Inquisition's weird story choices & over-big maps as a result. It offers the most choice for how your PC is & sure, it definitely has some early installment jank, but it's my favorite plot & mechanics & ways to go about immersing yourself into the game & really crafting your character's skills & personality. For being a voiceless blank slate, The Warden feels really weirdly fleshed out. And IDK, maybe it's because their dialog isn't voiced? You can really just go hog wild in your mind palace & I like that. Origins feels cozy for me. It's familiar. It's definitely my most played game in the franchise & one of the games overall that I keep going back to. In fact, maybe this long weekend I'll jump back into my most recent save, because I had put it on pause to try giving Inquisition a fair shake again.

TAYLOR HEADCANONS BECAUSE HER BIRTHDAY IS TOMORROW

Dungeon and Dragons

1. Taylor found out about D&D from her dad (who is an absolute need about it. He has figurines and a shit ton of dice.)

2. She started out playing the board game with her dad and later moved to the video games.

3. After Taylor became an even bigger nerd, her dad gave her his collection of dice (but not the figurines because he could never let them go.)

4. Once Taylor went to college, she never really had time to play the game.

Hair

1. Taylor’s natural hair color is dark red.

2. Over the years, she dyed her hair multiple colors: green, black, red, blue, you name it.

3. Taylor would bleach her hair often to have more vibrate colors.

4. She decided to keep it pink during college because she felt it suited her best.

Phone (not very self-explanatory but it's okay)

1. Her phone case is a Pinkshift album cover that she got for her birthday.

2. Ger lock screen changes constantly.

3. Most of the time it is a cute picture of her and Daniel.

4. Taylor somehow convinced Daniel to have a matching lock screen with her.

5. Her home screen also changes frequently and it's usually a picture of her and Andrew.

6. She got to Andrew to have matching home screens, which took lots of convincing.

Favorite things

1. Taylor’s favorite colors would be darker colors. She mostly likes greens, pinks, and purples.

2. She loves cats, especially Persian cats.

3. Taylor loves oversized hoodies and T-shirts. She has a whole collection of hoodies and shirts she stole from Daniel.

4. She loves coffee. She usually orders a large caramel frappe with the most whipped cream you'd ever see.

what do each of the ghouls / ghoulettes get from starbucks?

Aether - Standard hot black coffee with milk cream, no sugar. Gets a chocolate biscotti and says that's enough sweetness for him.

Swiss - Gets a large vanilla bean frappe with a shot of espresso added, no whipped cream, drizzle of chocolate. He swears it's to share with Rain.

Rain - Chai latte, iced.

Dew - Avoids the place, but if he tags along he'll get a cake pop.

Mountain - Black coffee, dark roast. Nothing added, please. He'll take a bite of any type of bread you get, mostly out of curiosity. He likes the texture.

Cumulus - Dragon drink, extra large, no whipped cream, with a shot of raspberry syrup to make it "Just so bold! :)"

Cirrus - Tall hot green tea with cream and honey, and a slice of either pumpkin or banana bread, whichever is in stock or in season. Will finish Aether's biscotti and agree that it's "just sweet enough".

i love this question

so lena i feel like would have a few orders. from day to day, she gets a grande iced americano, black (of course). when she goes with kara, she'd me more inclined to get something sweet and i think she'd get an iced mocha with almond milk. lena is def an alternative milk girlie, like i just know it in my soul

kara's order would be the caramel ribbon crunch frappuccino. or a vanilla bean frappe. she hates coffee but needs caffeine so she starts every day with a nice little caffeinated milkshake

I feel like cat would get something fancy like a matcha with vanilla and oat milk, or a hot chai

Alex seems like a black iced coffee drinker but kelly seems like she would be into the refreshers. she seems like she'd avoid straight coffee because it's bad for your anxiety levels and she's a therapist so she's smart about that stuff. i could see her getting the peach green tea lemonade or a dragon drink

Oooh man I've got a bunch... the X-Men movies (especially the McAvoy timeline + Logan) and The Suicide Squad (2021) are comfort movies for me, but they're not necessarily "feel-good" movies since they're pretty intense and have some pretty major character death. Aside from that... Tangled, Princess and the Frog, How to Train Your Dragon, and Bohemian Rhapsody are my lighter picks, I think.

Ooooh... at the moment it's Nashville hot chicken, I think. I also do love me a caramel frappe.

23. favorite piece of clothing?

My good leather jacket. I've got a few leather jackets, most of them thrifted, but I got one really nice black leather jacket as a Christmas gift about ~5 years ago and it's my absolute favorite thing to wear.

"That can't be him." Mariano muttered, looking at the name on the to-go order. There was a tiny picture attached to the order on the app, but it was too small for him to make out many details.

The guy was big, and built. He had clear, bronzed skin, and short dark hair. He was wearing sunglasses, but his shirt was also a size too small. "That can't be Laredo."

Abby, her curly red hair pulled back into a ponytail, leaned in next to him. "Do you know him?" She asked.

Mariano squinted, as though that would bring any more clarity to the image. "Probably not." He said. "He just has the same name as an old war buddy."

"Do you want me to take it to him when he gets here?" She looked up at him. "I don't mind, and like...no one would be mean to me." She said with a shrug.

Mariano laughed, shaking his head. "No, no. And--Abby, if I thought he'd be mean to you, I'd go out there instead of you anyway. I'm the adult here. And also the manger."

The teenager laughed, rolling her eyes. "No, no, I can take it, I'd yell back." She looked him up and down, from his glittering glasses chain to the soft, patterned sweater he wore. "And I don't care if you've been to war, if I didn't hear about what you did to that guy that punched Andrew I'd think you'd cry if someone yelled at you."

"Well, if the military makes you good at anything, it's not crying when you get yelled at." Mariano's phone buzzing cut off whatever Abby was going to say next. "Ah, that's him." A mocha frappe, easy enough to make.

Once he'd added the appropriate amount of chocolate sprinkles and taped the ticket to the cup, Mariano walked out the door with Abby tossing a helpful "Don't get murdered!" after him. Rain pelted down as he grabbed the umbrella he kept by the door, freezing air rushing in before the door could swing shut behind him.

Laredo would be weird enough to order a cold coffee on a day like that.

An old, black sedan sat in their one to-go spot, idling. Mariano could hear the 80's rock muffled by the window. He knocked. It couldn't be him. The window rolled down. Gelled, short black hair and brilliant brown eyes met Mariano.

"Rookie?!"

It was Laredo. He sounded delighted. He was beaming.

"Ah--Laredo? It's...it's you?" Mariano asked. He wasn't sure why he was so shocked. He knew Laredo's release date had been coming up. He'd kept track of everyone's. "When...did you move here?"

"A few weeks ago! Oh--oh my god, you have pact rings? You have a dragon, congratulations!" Laredo was excited, even as he took the drink from Mariano. He didn't sound like he wanted to kill Mariano at all.

He'd also been pretty alright with being arrested when it happened, Mariano supposed. So maybe it wasn't that shocking. "Y--yes, yes. His name is Bastian. I...welcome to the city? Do...do you have a place to stay?"

Laredo nodded, eagerly. "Yeah, I had to stay in a motel for a week or two while they got it ready for me, but there's this cute little house the reintegration program got for me. I'll have roommates, but it's all mine until then!" He chattered away, even as he reached into his glove box.

Mariano didn't know why he expected a gun. Instead, there was a little notebook that Laredo scribbled down a phone number and address in. He ripped the sheet out and handed it to Mariano. "Feel free to swing by. I'm still moving in, but I'll have the place cleaned up in a week or two."

Mariano stared down at the paper in his hand before meeting Laredo's gaze. The older man looked so hopeful. The knot in his stomach just wouldn't go away. "I...yes. I'll have to double check my schedule, but...yes. I'll have to visit."

Laredo cheered. "Awesome! I'll let you get back to work now. Don't be a stranger." And he rolled his window up. And then he drove off.

Mariano pocketed the note. He wasn't sure what he felt about that interaction. It took him a few more minutes of standing outside, listening to the rain patter against his umbrella before he could go back in.
