JUST the apron? ?? ?? #then we go into R2 and it starts with yakumo questioning eiden's costume direction #but i wouldn't put it past eiden's mystical part time abilities #to be able to selectively nakify his clan members #haHA! behold! the art of misdirection! NOW WITH SEXY CONSEQUENCES!! #at some point in the future eiden will show off his tablecloth swoosh trick (the legitimate one. that actually uses the tablecloth) #and yakumo will be mildly wary the entire time. hands hovering near his crotch area as he was lucky to do the FIRST time #anyway eiden performs the trick successfully. no one's clothes slide off. the tablecloth is swooshed. the dishes are intact. #now we can either leave it at that or go the route of Violence #like the dramatic samurai strike. there's a moment of nothing . THEN EVERYONE IN THE ROOM LOSES THEIR CLOTHES IN A GUST OF WIND #EIDEN'S ULTIMATE ATTACK!!!!! PENULTIMA NAKED FLAME RENDING SHREDDINATOR RISING TORNADO!!!!!!! #yakumo #eiden #yakuei

you know, I actually think the moment byleth steps in front of that blow meant for edelgard, an action that changes EVERYTHING about their fate, really is monumental, especially after warriors came out and added context

you have this mercenary who’s known for being stone cold, emotionless, and who can annihilate entire mercenary camps in minutes blank faced, as we saw with shez - by all means, they should never, WOULD never take a blow like that so carelessly for someone they don’t even know, much less with such an angry, determined expression - and yet.

the game draws some clear parallels between byleth and edelgard, and in all routes they have a connection that seems unbreakable - all of this starts at that very moment, when the merciless demon gets swept by a wave of emotion so strong that they throw rationality out of the window.

idk, one of my favourite fe3h analyses mentions the ‘literal divine intervention triggered by edelgard’ and that’s exactly what that moment is. not even because of sothis, but because that’s exactly when byleth takes their first step towards humanity and their freedom - i honestly think that byleth only fully regaining their humanity in crimson flower is the only outcome that makes sense, since that’s exactly what we see in one of the first scenes in fe3h. excellent foreshadowing, I’d say

Imagine Hughes brings Elicia to work one day and leads her to Roy's office to visit. Ed's there too, likely revising some report. And she is just the biggest fan of him so she's always super excited to see him. She wiggles outta Maes' arms and plops down meanwhile her dad is invested in teasing Roy abt getting married or whatever. Ed is so wrapped up with his grumblings that he doesn't notice Elicia's hurried little steps as she sprints to hug his leg. The metal one. She crashes into it and falls to the floor in a heap sobbing. Hughes snaps to look at her, sees his little girl on the ground in pain and Ed confused and worried. So he directs his anger towards him and starts yelling at Edward. And Ed's like "I didn't do anything! I'm sorry! She ran into my leg!!" And in his anger Maes doesn't think abt how Edward's leg is literally metal so he dismisses that as any explanation at all.

Ed would just feel so so guilty whether he was at fault or not. He would take great care with his automail around fragile and cute things. Ultimately though, he'd break and hurt them unintentionally and it'd eat at him. Make him afraid of getting close to things he could potentially ruin. There would be like an internal struggle in him. It'd leave him behaving inconsistently bc he can't bring himself to completely separate himself from those things, so he confuses others too.

I keep seeing the number of people the commander killed change. I thought it was around 100 but Marcelle says it's 30 during the trial. Am I misunderstanding something?

You're not missing anything lol-- it does change very randomly. The reasoning is just that I couldn't stick to a number for the first draft so it changes around a bit. I would tell you what is the canon number amount of people killed but I...! have still not settled on it yet.

I will say I actually don't really like the no-mercy route too much in Undertale Yellow,,, I think from a skewed justice standpoint it's REALLY interesting! And I do like the way it effects Dalv's way of thinking, how it changes the entire sequence with Axis, and how Clover straight up. pulls out the gun sometimes. Like the fact that you basically mug Mo out of house and home

Martlet.... absolutely had no business being the final boss. Her death is haunting and the music is incredible, but I'm not sure how fitting it was with her. Not to mention the ending of the route overall.
