#dream smp season 4 finale

From my understanding of dreams post, more character finale lore would soon be coming. Dream mentioned that tommy/tubbo lore occured in the timeline of the eggpire lore finale where the egg was already taking over the server.

With that, It would make sense that the timeline of upcoming lore would occur before or months leading up to the eggpire finale lore and tommy/tubbo finale lore.

There's no after because the server is destroyed by the nukes. From what tubbo said, due to jack changing the location, the nukes were already nonfunctional meaning 8(correct me if I'm wrong) nukes hits different areas of the server, not just the prison alone.

Anything after that would just be radioactive.

If they do work with this route as in having lore after the nukes hit and potential survivors, that would be intriguing to see who survive but idk.

I feel like tubbo/tommy finale lore solidified the entirety of dsmp season 1 lore.

What's often interesting to me, is Dream spells it out in the finale and people often still don't get it, so I thought it'd be interesting to see what he was actually referencing here. To see where it all started.

[24:27] Tommy: “That first war, me and Tubbo versus you–how it should have ended–why’d you take it?” Dream: “Tommy, you ambushed me and killed me. You stole all my shit! You tried ambushing me in a little cave–you don’t remember that? I feel like you just–your memory is just–gone.”

So here is the ambush Dream is talking about, where Sapnap and Tommy basically decide to just kill Dream and then kept all of his shit. [Death 1]

He gets killed again when he tries to take back his stuff. [Death 2]

Tommy kills him for fun right after he respawns with nothing. [Death 3]

Then after Dream gets his stuff back (via our boy Punz) and he takes the discs to get Tommy to stop, he gives Tommy back his items. But unsatisfied, Tommy goes after Dream, gets one of his discs back and hides it in the little cave. Dream tries to find it, while Sapnap and Tommy try to stop him. They are unsuccessful until, Tubbo brings them axes and they sneak up and corner Dream in the little cave, ambushing and killing him. Once again, taking all of his shit, (including, yes, the other disc.) [Death 4]

[27:58] Tommy: “Think about that, we could’ve been friends but no because you have to figure out the reason you have to get–”  Dream: “Yeah we could’ve but you–you ruined the chance of that long ago. It was you.” Tommy: “I ruined it?” Dream: “You ruined it!”

And I don’t think it’s unfair for Dream to say that in the finale, because for Dream it’s this stream early on, these moments that started it all. It’s these instances of of Dream getting murdered and robbed and made fun of over and over. Him, trying to not just make peace for everyone, but also reclaim respect and peace for himself. It’s Tommy chasing after Dream when he has nothing to kill him and rub it in his face. It’s Dream, even after all of that, giving back their items. It’s these instances of violence taken too far to the point they clearly pissed Dream off and didn’t care or follow his very simple request of just giving an apology and his belongings back that shape my distaste for Tommy and sympathy for Dream. It’s these moments that I feel like are gone from Tommy’s and our memory that highlight a different story.

in the wake of the dream smp crashing and burning in a dumpster fire if it were also a nuclear meltdown, earlier aspects of season 4 have faded into the background a bit. it's hard to get worked up over hiccups in characterization or pacing issues when we have Literally everyone dying and coming back to life with their memories wiped

but Let It Be Known, I'm still salty over the wilbur and eret stream.

after Literal Years of eret trying to find redemption for what she'd done but struggling with the fact that the person she hurt the most Wasn't There Anymore, they finally FINALLY get to see each other face to face and what she does is chew him out.

eret Doesn't Apologize To Wilbur. after all of that, the first and Only time they get to have a conversation after wilbur came back from the dead, Eret Doesn't Apologize To Him. Wilbur apologizes to Eret.

it makes. No Sense. not for eret's characterization, not for the dynamic she's been building up with wilbur (idolizing the Idea of him and of l'manberg, quite Literally preserving it's memory). and not for Wilbur.

eret isn't personally responsible for wilbur taking his life, but she Certainly played a major role in the events and mindset that lead to it. eret of all characters absolutely should not have been the one trying to hold wilbur to task for not apologizing hard enough. eret shouldn't feel Owed an apology at all.

an eret and wilbur stream should've been an absolute slam dunk, and instead it feels like eret could be replaced with anybody and it would've worked Better.

Do you have a favorite/least favorite arc for C!Dream? (L'Manberg, Pogtopia, Exile/NLM, Prison, etc)

hmm ill do a quick ranking based on the following: 1) pre-lmanburg 2) lmanburg revolution-election results 3) manberg/pogtopia 4) season 1b (exile, nlm, doomsday, staged finale) 5) prison arc 6) post-prison arc

Prison arc has to take the top spot, I just like fucking around with it too much. This is a list of my favorites, not in terms of narrative importance or how they're written, and i just like this box it lives in my head rent free

Manberg/Pogtopia -- I think its influence on c!Dream is often understated and it's probably the one I chew on the most in terms of what the fuck was happening with this guy which is fun. The other time periods leave less to the imagination

Season 1b + Lmanburg -- these more or less tie, for me. sometimes i might root for premanberg era over season 1b just because of how little it's talked abt, but that's more abt fandom response than the actual time periods in themselves. i like them both, lots of quality c!dream content, i just turn these moments in my head less yaknow i feel like they're more "cut and dry" in my head so to speak

post-prison -- could easily be in the top 2 if there was more content, but alas. honestly feel really bad for ranking it this low just bc it has daedalus, which in itself is probably like one of my favorite series of c!dream content on this server literally ever, but between how much it's talked abt and how there's comparatively less like, change going on with c!dream here it drops into last place for me. still love it, my god, hardly a single moment of post-prison c!dream that i dont love (daedalus and inconsolable differences literally live in my head rent free) but i feel like if we're purely talking like for c!dream as a character...idk idk.

pre-lmanburg -- early smp streams will always be near and dear to my heart buuuut in terms of c!dream there's just a lot less to say, unfortunately

honestly u could ask me this tomorrow and id probably say something different--and idk i love all of them genuinely i dont think there's a single c!dream "era" so to speak that i dislike . he's my blorbo

fun thing is you dont have 2 watch anything to just jump in! but if u want to heres a playlist of videos from season 3 and a much shorter playlist of videos from season 4 (the current, ongoing season). parrot also has some official playlists floating around somewhere for seasons 1 and 2. pick whatever strikes your fancy to watch!

if you want specific recommendations on my personal favorite s3 videos, heres my s3 highlights (which I havent updated in a while, & theres probably a few finales deserving of going on there).

if long VODs arent your thing but youd like to stay somewhat up to date with stream events, baconnwaffles0 is your go to guy! he takes a lot of inspiration from streamers like Ludwig & goes into each of his lifesteal streams with a Concept and a Plan for making into a video later. as a result hes gotten 12 second channel videos out of his season 4 escapades, very much a good short encapsulation of his season so far. (parrot also does this but parrot hasnt streamed super recently so his videos dont really reflect current events the way bacon's do.)

the streams are very much fun and will often give better insight into events as they happen - which is why makign sure they're preserved and saved is important - but streams are 100% not necessary to follow what happens, because lifesteal members explain everything important to you in narration. ls videos are very much designed to be accessible to any random person who might click on it and watch, so they will say nearly the same spiel about the hearts plugin every time, they'll describe their besties as just "my friend" instead of using proper nouns, give basic exposition of what side/team is which, etc. they want all of their videos to be able to do well independently of one another & that ideally any one of them could grab a new person! (they're algorithm bitches u know how it is)

... however if you DO want to watch livestreams, here are my recomendations:

princezam (twitch.tv/princezamlive)! zam is one of the most frequent streamers on the server & is I think the most accessible to newcomers. super funny & instantly endearing. we love printer!! i REALLY recommend his season 3 videos, especially "how I lost my empire"!

pangi is also up there (twitch.tv/pangilive) 👍 pangi is great, very funny guy, streams a ton - he'll be out until december tho bc hes currently recovering from a surgery! pangi is deceptively unassuming - man got the maximum number of hearts he could on the first day of season 4 and has refused to budge from that position since.

baconnwaffles0 (twitch.tv/baconnwaffles0) is teamed with planetlord and they're a frequent visitor in his streams, so if youd like to check out planet you're more likely to find him there than at their own twitch (twitch.tv/planetlord_) - but bacon and planet bounce off of each other super well. some of my favorite s4 streams have just been bacon, planet, and their teammate yeahjaron doing silly things, like making an exotic pets shop or reenacting the extinction event that killed the dinosaurs.

tl;dr in terms of "what homework do I need to do here to catch up", it's less like dream smp and more like hermitcraft. start wherever watch whatever nothing matters except that u have fun. fuck it we ball

Chapter 5- Observations and Conspiracy Theories

The trio picked back up with their studies as the sun was threatening to set. Cleo had been napping in the sun, and Michael went for a walk around the castle lands, where he’d briefly ran into a slime who swore he was human, but Michael couldn’t be sure, so he just killed the thing*.

They met Joe at his moon observation station, and were mostly quiet, watching and waiting in dreadful anticipation.

And when the moon finally did begin to show its face, it really hit Michael just how massive this thing really was. Sure, he’d seen it the other night, when it was looming overhead, but to see it peeking over the edge of the platform, while the sun was still blatantly setting on the other side, really set the tone for how hellish and unnatural this whole thing really was.

Cleo nudged Michael, and he tore his eyes away from the moon to watch Joe in action. He was on an unstable looking rock platform, which was covered with signs. Joe walked forward, past all of them and then a bit more, and after a few moments of deliberation and leaning back and forth, placed down a sign and wrote the date.

“God, that’s like three blocks more then yesterday.” Cleo muttered.

Joe came back over to them, and the three stood there, watching the moon make its way up the sky.

“So, what do we do now?” Michael asked.

“Observe it I guess.” Joe replied, taking out a small notebook and writing down the measurements.

“Well, that’s all well and good, but besides the fact that it’s big and there are earthquakes, observing it all night is going to be quite boring.” Cleo said.

“What do you suggest we do then?” Joe asked.

“I suggest we have a campfire.” Joe sighed and Cleo turned to Michael. “I set up the nicest, safest campfire spot at the beginning of this season, with stones to keep the fire contained and water and everything and he says it’s a danger to the forest.”

“I mean, Joe, it’s kinda last call for peaceful shit, it feels like.” Michael pointed at the moon.

“Fine!” Joe threw his hands up in the air, and Michael and Cleo high-fived him in sync, which made all three of them burst out into laughter. Despite it all.

“So, Michael, we overwhelmed you on the first day, and all we’ve been talking about noe is the moon. Any burning questions aboht Hermitcraft?” The three were settled around the cheerfully crackling campfire, with Joe on a blanket looking straight up at the sky, Cleo sitting on a tree stump she had uprooted, and Michael in one of the beanbag chairs from the castle.

“So, okay, who is this Evil X guy? I remember your admin talking about him on that first day. Who is he?”

Cleo snorted and Joe huffed. “He’s like the villain, I guess you could call him, on the server.” Cleo answered. “Do you have anyone like that where you’re from?”

“Hmm, I suppose so. There’s a guy who is like the big bad villain, name of Dream. But more then that, we mostly have a lot of morally grey people, you know, who don’t really fit into good or bad. Is he like that?”

“Well, I mean, he sells cryptocurrency.” Joe said.

“Oh so he’s evil in a pathetic way, okay.”

Cleo cackled so hard she coughed up a literal lung. Michael and Joe screamed, even more so when she shoved it back down her throat and pushed it back into place.

“Okay, I have a question.” Cleo spoke up once everyone had calmed down again. “So what the hell happened when you two met? Joe likes to be annoyingly aloof about his time missing. All I know is that you have a radio show, because Joe won’t shut up about wanting one.”

“Joe! Are you ashamed of hanging out with me?” Michael said in mock offense.

“I- no!” Joe said so genuinely sadly that Michael backpedaled at once.

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding.” Michael held out a hand to placate him. “Well, I was out for a walk one day around the Dream SMP. It’s usually, like, pretty dead, maybe you’ll see a figure in the distance once in a while, but that’s about it. So, you’d imagine my surprise when I found some bespectacled dude walking around in the crater of L’Manburg. So I helped him up and held a sword to his throat until he told me who he was. Sorry about that, Joe.”

“The impression that I got from my initial interaction with Michael is that the server he comes from is a lot more wary, and has a very different kind of relationship with death.” Joe added, sitting up finally and putting his notebook down. “I fell into this huge, overgrown crater I would later find out used to be a thriving community, and was saved by a man who was quite convinced I was some kind of cosmic horror.”

“To be fair you are a cosmic horror. To me.” Cleo said.

“Well, after I determined Joe wasn’t a threat, I decided to bring him home with me, like some kind of wet puppy I found in a box. And then he really started talking, and I thought ‘oh this guy has to be on my radio show, he’s too fucking weird’. So he did and he stayed for a few days to recuperate and regroup, and then he was off. Totally convinced the guy was gonna end up dead, was never really sure what happened to him until he called me the other day.”

“That is the most Joe Hills story I’ve ever heard.” Cleo sighed and shook her head. The campfire snapped and crackled merrily in front of them as they all went quiet again, lost in their own thoughts.

“So. Moon conspiracy theories.” Cleo, Joe, and Michael were eating breakfast at the tavern, and Michael had his notes and books in front of him. Now that the moon observation time was over, the sun had come to relieve them of their terror, the conspiracies could be explored. “The moon is one of those things that has always been on the mind of theorists of all kinds. Some say the moon is a god, some say someone has landed on on top of the moon and explored it, others say there’s no way, your wings would break before there. But as for a moon getting bigger and bigger? Well, on my way over here I scoured every book I could find, all the notes I’ve gathered over the years. What I could find was limited, with kinda sus references, but there is one theory that the moon is a goddess of some kind. Have y’all done anything that might make a god mad?”

Cleo and Joe looked at each other and spoke at the same time. “Doc.”

“Okay, so that’s one lead. A doctor?” Michael wrote the word down in his journal.

“No, Doc is a hermit. Oh isn’t there like some kind of cult at Boatem too?” Cleo asked, although she was cut off by Joe gasping dramatically.

“Boatem! That wretched place is cursed! That must be what’s causing this all!” Joe rose to his feet, shaking his fist in the direction of this Boatem place. Michael wrote it down.

“Besides angering gods, what other theories are there?” Cleo asked.

“Honestly, that’s the bulk of it. Like I said, not a lot of concrete anything- and that’s coming from a conspiracy theorist. We could get into stuff like ‘the moon got knocked out of orbit by something and was drawn into the gravitational pull here’ or ‘this is all just a video game and the moon is the final boss’.”

“Options to explore later, perhaps.” Joe said. “I’m so convinced those Boatem people have something to do with it!”

Michael grinned. “Alright baby! Let’s conspiracy theory this bitch!”

I saw a post yesterday talking about a hypothetical dsmp tv series and here’s what I would do:

Exile is a two-part season (kinda think how Stranger Things 4 was.)

It starts off normal and fine and all, but then Tommy gets exiled.

I think that Tommy’s musical theme, whatever it is, starts out as his own in the beginning of the show, then it morphs to sort of mirror Wilbur’s during L’Manberg and Pogtopia. When the Exile season starts off, it’s still like that but slightly more disjointed. Try a minor chord progression instead, y’know? Make sure the L’Manberg anthem motif is in there somewhere. And that’s how it is when he’s exiled. As the season goes, his theme goes from sorta like Wilbur’s to like Dream’s, and then just dead silence by the mid-series finale.

The first half of the season ends abruptly when Tommy jumps. No credit sequence, because that would’ve been done as he pillared up.

And that’s what the audience is left with for a month or two between halves of the season.

They don’t know that Tommy is alive until later- after an episode dedicated to the climax of the El Rapids arc that would’ve started in the first half of the season.

And even then, the episode starts with a Technoblade story. Him chopping wood. Getting water. There’s a picture on the mantle in his cabin of himself and Phil on SMP Earth flipping off Wilbur at what looks to be a trial. It’s a peaceful morning, and the audience is confused because we haven’t really seen much of him since the end of the L’Manberg season (for dramatic reasons, and because I can’t remember when it happened in canon, Hog Hunt arc takes place just after this episode, which provides a heartbreaking parallel arc for Quackity after seeing him fight for his friends and loved ones in El Rapids) and he kinda fucked things up there, to say the least.

Technoblade sits down with a mug of tea and a book. Steve is sprawled across the floor. Life is good.

It’s silent, the orchestral violin music that had been playing stopping.

And then there’s a thud from downstairs.

5. “it was never meant to be” (eret). i just love the initial usage and how many times it’s been used since then. i love how true it holds for l’manburg and i LOVE how much pain and betrayal and emotional distress it’s caused throughout the seasons. like yeah girl!!!! it WAS never meant to be!!!!! u right!!!!!

3. “this is checkmate. i suggest you resign” (tubbo). if i could put down the whole disk war finale then i WOULD. watching that live was absolutely insane and i’ll never forget watching it with my siblings and going absolutely wild over what was happening. c!tubbo went through so MUCH in season two and that character development is agonisingly clear in this quote. how resigned he was to death was so painful and it reminds me of how much i love c!tubbo :’)

2. “i’m gonna come here, every single fucking day, to make your life hell” (quackity). AGAIN. if i could note down most of c!prisontrio’s quotes during the imprisonment arc, i would. every single thing all three of them said about the imprisonment arc was absolutely horrifying. but i remember this moment specifically was when it sunk in for me that c!quackity was actually going to torture c!dream, and that he was going to come back, again and again and again and again. and he did. and the montage of torture from the next c!q stream matches exactly how i feel about this quote too.

1. …“the thing about this world is that the only universal language is violence” (techno). and NOT because of my unfortunately mistake when writing this quote out last year. techno’s character is always going to be one of my favourites, especially because of how well he just… GETS why violence happens so much on this smp. the only way people seem to communicate in any semi-effective way on this server is through violence, or the promise of violence, or the fear of violence. c!techno’s relationship with this knowledge has changed over the course of his time in the smp — first through accepting it, then through refusing to uphold that language, and then by trying to eliminate the militaristic / governmental language of violence of the prison. c!techno is such a fun character and i love him so much :’)

So! I think I should give my thoughts on the finale as a newbie to the fandom. Just as a note, this is talking about all of the characters from the DSMP and not their creators.

1. C!Tommy does not deserve the clout he gets. He is an abused teenager who has been let down by literally every authority figure around him. He deserves so many hugs and so many mugs of hot chocolate.

2. I don’t think C!Tommy forgives C!Dream. At this point, I don’t think he can. What Dream did was horrific. He killed, tormented, and abused a literal child (Tommy is a child I will fight you on this) to the point where he nearly committed suicide. I just think at this point he was stalling for time. Maybe, just maybe, he sort of understood Dream’s end goal. But I also think that he saw just how twisted Dream was at this point and decided to just go along with whatever the man had to say. He just had to keep him there, I don’t think he was buddy-buddy with Dream at all.

3. Michael is going to be in season 2. I will riot if he isn’t. Or he is safe and alive with Phil and whoever else isn’t dead. He will see Tubbo and Ranboo again.

4. Screw C!Punz and C!Dream. You know what I mean.

5. C!Tubbo needs a lot of friggin therapy and I will happily give him the entire world. Same goes for C!Tommy and C!Ranboo.

6. Jack. Just- Jack. Why? Why would you break me this way?

7. I need to say this for those in the back, Tommy should never have been put in this situation.

8. Whoever gave Tubbo nukes we need to have a talk. Also, Tubbo, my friend, what the heck? I mean, I’m guessing he got them from his days being the president, but I’m not up to date on that info so I may be wrong? I mean, if he got them as a sense of security then I’m all for it. He deserves to feel safe. But. Buddy. That’s, uh, that’s a pretty large nuke you had there. I don’t know about your nuke, but typically the bigger your nuke is, the bigger the explosion is. I don’t think the SMP was going to survive even just one of them.

9. You know what, I really didn’t appreciate Dream and Punz going all Thanos philosophy on Tommy and Tubbo. They were all like “oh we revived all these people and we gotta kill all these people”. You know what would’ve kept all this from happening? Not bloody manipulating, killing, and reviving people. Have mercy it’s so easy all you have to do is not do it! Get a hobby, like knitting. Don’t go around screwing with life and death. Also you really don’t have to kill everyone. What’s the point of that anyway? I mean I get it if the egg had popped up because of revival shenanigans, but I think it was there before anyone was revived? Except maybe Sam, but I don’t know if Dream knows about that. But yeah, a lot of shaky logic there.

10. Where are all the non-psychotic adults during this? I’m being genuine here, where are they? Except Wilbur, who I know went off to Utah, where is everyone?

11. Not about the finale, but C!Schlatt deserved worse and that’s all I’m going to say on that for now.

12. Overall, I have come to the conclusion that Tubbo, Tommy, Michael, and Ranboo deserve the entire world and a lot of therapy. Dream and Punz deserve the nuke. Also Quackity is just really cool I like him.

How is amnesia lazy? I think it's interesting and fun to explore :(

Boy you're in for a ramble.

It's mostly because of the way it's used as an escape button when an issue doesn't have resolution. We saw it in the DSMP because, c'mon, we knew Dream wasn't going to die and neither was Tommy + they needed some sort of redemption arc for Dream so he can take part in season 2 of his own SMP, the thing is that felt pretty damn useless? Because that's no actual redemption, Dream never felt bad for torturing and killing Tommy, they just forgot and because they forgot it didn't happen ^^

And they're not the only ones that have pulled the amnesia plot for a dire situation like that. We know some characters can't die because Karmaland isn't over and if they eventually make Karmaland 6 and they want it to be a direct continuation to Karmaland 5 if someone dies it could be... Complicated... Right?

Except it's not! We had other ways for dealing with those issues. Want an example? REVIVAL, MAN!!!! Alexby did die once and came back to tell the tale. They could've given the war a violent resolution and have their characters revived later like Alexby did. Maybe even have the survivor party feel bad for what happened because it didn't have to end like this? Maybe, who knows.

But let's say that's off the table for x or y reason... At beginning of Karmaland there were many theories about the heroes coming from different universes, not from the same Karmaland, what does that mean? It means that they can kinda pull a GTA Roleplay move, aka killing a character and bringing in another one to replace them, example? Auron roleplayed Gustabo in GTA Roleplay, but he killed him in the beginning of London Eye Roleplay, and he continued roleplaying with Toni Gambino. An option there could've been having either Quackity or Luzu killed and replaced by another Quackity or Luzu from another universe, and considering the multiverse is canon in Karmaland it would've opened the doors for something pretty cool to explore.

Another way, and this one is pretty simple... Is to just stop the war. How so? Well we saw that Sapo Peta could make it so Quackity and Luzu couldn't harm each other, remember that Luzu tried to shoot Quackity and nothing happened? Well there you have it.

And yet another way was to leave the end of the war for Karmaland's finale so that they could really have one killed without affecting the season.

Now with all of this I don't want to say how ccs should do their stories, I just want to point out that there were many ways to work with what they had going.

Amnesia isn't necessary a bad plot, if it's worked with it can give us a lot of content, take for example Lolito! He pulled the amnesia card in Karmaland 4 and did pretty well, people were trying to take advantage of him, there was some comedic relief AND HE EVENTUALLY REMEMBERED! He worked with that one and it was good.

To finish this I just want to say that although I hate amnesia plots when they're used as an escape button, it's not necessarily bad, lots of people enjoy it and that's okay, but being overexposed to that sort of plots just turns you into some kind of Grinch for them and that's what I am right now, I've had to deal with at least 5 amnesia plots in this same year and it's getting awfully exhaustive.

Generally, I’m not really embarrassed about any of the stuff I’ve been into. If I liked it, clearly it brought me joy at the time and that’s what matters. You know, how would I be the person I am today if I didn’t play Undertale or even if I didn’t read every creepypasta I could get my hands on as a kid? That plus my memory problems means no cringe for me lol. But I guess I could talk about a few.

MLP was back when the show was still airing — I want to say 3rd or 4th season? — and I just dove into the fandom because ‘woah guys did you know that people write stories about the ponies? That there are infinite amount of stories to read?’ Which, you know, ups and downs, you got your Keepers of Discord but you’ve also got your Cupcakes. (Though, to be honest, the fact that I had a reading of Cupcakes bookmarked on my computer to listen to to help me fall asleep? probably explains uhm. Some Stuff About Me.) Honestly, wouldn’t trade my time with MLP for anything, and I still love the show and a lot of fanworks dearly. I rewatch Lullaby for a Princess every few weeks, I reread Something Sweet To Bite every Halloween, and when I can’t sleep, I still find myself going to ObabScribbler or TheLostNarrator’s YouTube channels to find fic readings to calm my brain down.

Dream SMP is… more complicated. Obviously, if you know anything about it, you know all the shit that came out. I won’t get into that here because that’s not really a part of my experience? Just sort of a gross thing that overshadows it all, even though I was out of the fandom before any of that stuff was known. I actually got into it to bond with my little sister, she loved that stuff, and damn it all, but I got unironically sucked in by just the fantastic work that came out of a fandom surrounding a minecraft roleplay server lol. They aren’t wrong about the art that got made for those YouTubers, it’s all stunningly good. And it’s how I found Sad-ist’s animations on YouTube. Still subscribed to them, their work is always beautiful to watch, the old Dream SMP stuff and the new stuff. And I liked bonding with my sister over the bonkers minecraft lore. The end of that hyperfixation was when Technoblade died. Got too real, all of a sudden, too close to home, and I peaced out hard. It was good, though, while I was there. I liked having something to talk to my sister about.

Uhhhh okay out of that downer ending let’s talk about Sherlock. Yes hi hello original superwholock-er here, despite only seeing the first two seasons of doctor who but IT COUNTS. I can’t even be mad at past me for liking Sherlock because I probably wouldn’t be as close to my friends as I am if we hadn’t all been watching s3-4 live. And dunking hard on s4. I was never a johnlock conspiracy person, so that helps. There was the time my friend read us outloud some Johnlock mpreg ass birth fanfic in math class. That was… an experience. I give this a “I can’t plug my phone in without being haunted by his voice”/10

And finally, back to serious town, Harry Potter. I don’t even have anything good to say here, really. The whole “mourning something important to my childhood” phase is long over, the damage continues to be done, and. And nothing. I just don’t want to see it anymore. It’s not shame or cringe, I guess, it’s more like… disappointment. Not at myself, because fuck it, dude, I was a kid, I knew everything there was to know about the books, I waited for the mail when I turned eleven, I wrote “Hogwarts is my Home” on the inside of my closet like a ward to keep me safe. The first thing I ever read about being trans was a damn Harry Potter fic, one of the first podfics I ever made, too, though I was too chicken to post it. So what’s left except disappointment, even the anger long gone because it just keeps happening. I just don’t want to see it anymore.
