I’m having many thoughts about the DSMP finale.

I don’t think anything like DSMP will ever happen again, if I’m being perfectly honest. Nothing is ever going to come close to just how MASSIVE it was, and how momentous it’s all felt. Like over 100k people were tuning in to watch MCRP lore at some points, which is INSANE. And like the insane amount of love put into it by (most of) the people on it, and the fans. The fanart, fansongs, recreations of the server, animatics, everything really! Stuff like Sad-Ist’s animations, Derivakat’s songs based off the characters and events, and like!!! So much more!!!! And the work of the CCs!!!!! Stuff like Quackity’s Las Nevadas streams or BadBoyHalo’s Eggpire streams with their INSANELY high quality productions, with the former even having it’s own music??? That’s INSANE!!

And like, despite EVERYTHING. The Dream situatuon, the slow and uneventful downfall of the server, the Nuke ending. I still LOVE this server, and don’t see myself leaving it’s fandom ANYTIME soon. and I’ll probably love it for the rest of my life. It’s literally changed my life for the better. Introduced me to so many lovely people I never would’ve seen otherwise, made me improve my writing and my art, and literally got me through SO MANY tough times in my life. And it introduced me to so many content creators I never would’ve gotten into in the first place. It’s done so much for me, and has done so much for so many other people, and I don’t think that can be overlooked, because I doubt something like that is ever going to happen again.

Farewell, DSMP. Your Unfinished Symphony finally draws to a close.

After finding out Bad was paying for the server I can’t help but wonder… what did Dream really do???

Because well… he wasn’t paying for the damn thing, ergo he didn’t really own it. He was just the guy who wanted to play vanilla minecraft with his friends on stream. But beyond that… what did he do?

Tommy and Tubbo for kept the server alive. The second they got whitelisted they were streaming every day, finding new shit to do (like walking up and down the prime path, searching for music discs, adding Wilbur and Schlatt for shits and giggs). Meanwhile everyone else was loosing interest, letting the server die.

And of course there was Wilbur. Tommy and Tubbo brought life, Wilbur brought soul. He saw a cool server that had potential and by God he was going to get himself whitelisted and construct one hell of a Hamilton fanfic story, one that would inspire countless people to create their own silly stories for years to come.

And even after c!Wilbur’s death and the end of the L’manberg era, we still had creators putting their all into this goddamn server. We had more amazing stories like Tommy’s exile, Ranboo’s enderwalk, Doomsday, the prison, Tales of the SMP, the egg AND of course Las Nevadas!! Special shout out to Quackity here, motherfucker was making cinematic experiences with those last few streams!

And that’s what I love about the DSMP. That’s why I hold it so close to my heart. That’s why I’m still writing fanfiction about it 3 years later. Because all these streamers sat down and turned this silly little Minecraft server into something magical.

And Dream’s name is slapped on the front despite the fact he barely lifted a finger.

This is my worst creation, my child. I spent so long on this. I spent too much time on this. I hate it. I love it. Here are some notes:

Some things probably aren’t accurate because I don’t watch everything and picked some stuff up second hand. This is in no way comprehensive

This is my interpretation, especially where there is gray area about whether something is canon or dubiously canon and if it’s mentioned offhand once

Headcanons are mine and popular fanon ones

The key works in two sections: color and shape. Anything in the key written in black refers to shape

This was kind of purposefully made to look a mess. Well, not initially but then I started adding curved lines and uhhh it went downhill from there. So yeah it’s hard to read and a lot of things aren’t very clear, sorry about that

Words written in light gray are my notes on certain things

I tried to chose the best color for and shape for every relationship but it’s kind of difficult so some things don’t really fit but oh well

I don’t know what’s happening with the MCC games either
