What I like about Adam Parrish and Ronan Lynch is that they have so much potential for the grumpy and sunshine dynamic except instead they’re just both grumpy and the role of sunshine just falls on whichever one of them happens to be slightly more mentally/emotionally stable at the time which changes every 15-30 seconds

I can’t find the specific quote or even remember which book it’s in but you know when Ronan talks about being unsure how to talk to Adam and never says the right thing? And that scene when Adam is in the garage and trying to figure how to communicate with Cabeswater? And then we learn that Ronan is Cabeswater? Yeah, I don’t think we talk about that enough.

Like Ronan is so worried about how to say what he’s feeling but then Adam actively works with him to understand, to figure out a way to talk to each other that doesn’t hurt either of them. The patience and kindness to understand when the rest of Ronan’s family (mostly Declan at that point) can’t understand and would to prefer to make Ronan something else. The way Ronan wants to know everything Adam, who believes he’s so unknowable, that he’s literally overflowing. Then you add in the Latin as like their special language on top of the magical connection. I love it. I love that they don’t immediately get each other but put in the effort to learn.

That scene in Dream Thieves where Gansey is unrolling a satellite photo of Henrietta in Monmouth next to his scale model while having a phone conversation with Adam about nothing and girls and Blue while Ronan and Noah laugh and throw things out of the top window and Ronan looks almost like the cheerier version he was before. And Noah is laughing and protesting before Ronan throws him out the window too.

anyone else ever reading a book series or watching a tv show and so you look it up on tiktok or tumblr or something because you want to look at posts about it but then end up getting EVERYTHING about it spoiled?

because i do and i don’t know what the last time i was actually unaware of a plot twist or something significant in a book was before reading it because i end up getting things unintentionally spoiled for myself.

my mom and sister are always like “just stop looking up stuff about it” and i get that but i sometimes take months to read book series and i want to look at posts, fan art , and read fan fiction even when i’m not done with the series.

and then when something has a spoiler warning and you all-ready have had stuff spoiled for you but don’t know if it’s going to be something you don’t know or do know.
