-- Rain World - Unfortunate Development --
Rain World is a game where you run around as a small creature called a slugcat in a vast world where everything and its mom wants to eat you. It's both highly addicting (I've already put 30-something hours into the game myself) and highly challenging, and I've never felt so much mortal terror in a game before. And there's no area in the game that gives me quite as much stress as Unfortunate Development, a dark, dingy series of rooms full of weird cancerous wall-growths and their mobile equivalents, the Daddy Long Legs, all of which can insta-kill you, and all of which you have to parkour past in fluctuating zero gravity.

Announcement!  New Website and Blog Up!
Hey guys!  Just figured I’d let you people following me (insane, insane people you are - why do you do this to yourself?) that I’ve got a new website and a new blog up!  The website is https://www.dreamblight-illustrations.com/, and the blog is @dreamblightillustrations!  I created them as official sites for the freelance illustration business I’m hoping to eventually run, and I’ll be posting some of my art from the past (ie. everything on my website as of now) as well any brand-new, never-before-seen original art pieces that I make in the future, every Friday from now on!  Art pieces such as this, which I know for a fact I’ve never posted on my blog:
Tumblr media
On top of that, I have plans in the works for possibly creating merch using my art as well - either on my website or on other sites - I’m trying to think up a few T-Shirt designs to sell on TeeFury right now, actually...
Anyway, be sure to follow my new blog for new art every Friday, as well as announcements of any future merch and events to do with my burgeoning not-quite a business!

--Hollow Knight Pocket Siblings-- When I was coming up with ideas for my Hollow Knight speedpaint, I ended up doodling these things as a possible T-shirt design. I might use these as actual T-Shirt designs, too, if only because I think they're cute!

-- Progenitor God --
Inspired by me thinking "hey, what would a life god in charge of not just fertility but also mutations and evolution be like," and then letting my imagination run wild.
Fun fact - not every “plant” in the picture is actually a plant :)

--Road Trip--
A bunch of anime felines go on a road trip!  This picture actually got a reward and went to auction at Nan Desu Kan, an anime convention I went to, and I'm still really hyped at it doing so well!

--Alicanto Sighting--
Alicantos are mythical birds from Chilean mythology that eat gold and silver and incorporate the metals into their feathers, and are said to either lead people to riches, or lead the greedy astray underground.  I wanted to try my hand at drawing a metal bird just for the aesthetics, and I really like how this ended up turning out - though I DID have some trouble with the gold veins in the walls.

--Artemis Fowl Troll Concept Art--
The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer were my favorite books when I was in middle school - and still are one of my favorite book series ever!  I mean, what's not to love about reading about a 12-15 year old criminal genius matching wits with fairies with laser guns, megalomaniac pixies, and more?  So I decided it was high time I drew something from the series, and ended up deciding on the trolls - big lumbering predators that usually live underground, but sometimes end up on the surface and cause havoc if not contained.  Originally I was going to go for a paler color scheme - since they live primarily underground it would make sense for them to have little to no pigment in their fur - but I ended up going with a more earthy one instead.  It just looks more interesting, and it still kind of makes sense, since the colors would let them blend into their environment down in the caves.

--Dragon Design--
A dragon concept!  Went for a sleek and streamlined look here, so I think I may have been going for at least an amphibious dragon, since that would make sense for a frequent swimmer.  There are also doodles of another random dragon's head in the bottom right corner.

--Automaton Artist-- I don't remember exactly what prompted me to make this one, but I vaguely remember that this automaton lady was supposed to be an artist, with her multiple arms helping her work on multiple projects at a time. Something I wish I had sometimes! The things floating right by her are some of her tools, and the doodle off to the side is just - a random doodle, I guess, I can't remember what I was thinking of for that one.

--Dragonlike Humanoid-- A desert-dwelling, mask-wearing creature I drew during my first year of college. I like this design a lot so I'm probably going to try to revamp it at some point as an actual illustration!

--Marker Experimentation and Doodles--
First page from my sketchbook, here we go!  This is from a couple years back, when I was experimenting with a new set of artist's markers and seeing how I liked using them.  The amount of colors they have is limited, but I'm still pretty proud of how this particular doodle turned out.  The character I used is one of my original characters, and the pencil doodles are the same - the little furry creature is a pooka, or at least a first draft of one (semi inspired by the pooka design from The Spiderwick Chronicles) and a keen eye may notice that the boy in the bottom right resembles the one from my Shadows and Reflections Kelpie picture!

---Faerie Lake---
My first gallery-quality art piece using Krita!  I made the switch to a new art program a little while ago, and have been practicing using it for some time, so I figured it was high time to show the fruits of my labour.  The picture itself is an idea I've had for a while - I wanted to create a natural scene with a flock of some sort of small faerie-like creature fluttering about, and the little faeries in question were the result of me looking at the typical representation of fairies and going "hmmm, what if they were more like some weird mix between insect and dragon instead?"
The piece looks more saturated on Tumblr than it does in the image file, for some reason.  I’ll see about fixing that if I can!

---Warden of the Deep Dark---
While watching the previews of Minecraft's upcoming Caves and Cliffs update during this year's Minecraft Live, I found myself fascinated with the new Warden mob (and to a lesser extent, the environment it lives in.)  Its design is amazing, and I found it pretty spooky in general - so, of course, I decided I had to draw this thing!  This picture is the result of a solid eight hours of work, plus no few instances of aching fingers.

---Celestial Ouroboros---
A faintly glowing dragon, patterned like the day sky on one half of its body and like the night sky on the other.
