Just thinking about how I want a game based off of dream daddy called nightmare daddy. Where they’re all already obsessed with you and you already live in the neighbourhood that you move to in the beginning of the game and all the daddies move there to meet you.

The point is to AVOID the other dads while they try to main character style woo you even though you’re just not into it and maybe they (or some of them at least) get kinda creepy and low key obsessive and a bit “yandere-ish” over you. Full blown stalker style but it’s still dream daddy style so it’ll result in interactions like

MC: “Oh-Hey! W-uh-were you just staring through my window? Like- watching me?”

Other Character: “What? N-Noooo! Of course not! Who would do that? Creepy… Some kind of… stalker.”

Silence cues while the mc and other character stare at each other. Mc is kind of half-squinting, confused and mildly concerned. The other character is making dead eye contact.

Other ch: “Weeelll, anyway, it’s been real nice watchi-seein- chatting! It’s been a real nice chat and I’d love to stay, if you’d welcome me in but I got to go now- bye bye!”

The other character runs across the lawn, trips over a few things like a child’s scooter or something on the way. Runs into their own yard and into their house. MC watches this whole fiasco before turning and yelling to Amanda that they need to move. Amanda doesn’t hear them so they just drop it and move on with their day. After closing their blinds, of course.

Dream Daddy: a Dad Dating Comic Book by Various Writers

This is NOT a serious review!

SPOILER WARNING

This is something I read a little while ago and thought I should cover it given it hasn't been too long since reading it. I also haven't played the game but as soon as my PC is fixed I very much plan on doing so.

Dream Daddy: a Dad Dating Comic Book is a collection of stories featuring the dads from Dream Daddy from various writers and artists. The list of stories included are:

Much Abird About Nothing - Wendy Xu

Let the Right Dad In - Lee C.A.

Dream Ad-y - Vernon Shaw and Leighton Gray

Fair Deal - C. Spike Trotman

Dungeons & Daddies - Josh Trujillo

Unfortunately we don't get a focus on each individual "daddy" but with each story we do get to see multiple or all of the dads, and I feel the focus is divided enough that each dad gets a decent amount of attention. My personal favourite story is probably Let the Right Dad In which focusses on how Robert and Damien meet, along with how Robert gets Betsy. I personally think it was very funny, because Robert genuinely believes Damien is a vampire and starts a murder plot against him, which comes to a head when he storms into the vets wielding a wooden stake.

My least favourite would sadly have to be Dream Ad-y. While it wasn't bad, I just wasn't engaged with the plot of creating an ad for Mat's coffee shop. Again, it wasn't bad, but not my favourite either.

I also like how there's two different interpretations of the player dad, found in Much Abird About Nothing and Dream Ad-y. It's nice to see how different writers and artists see the player dad given he is a customisable character in-game. In the first appearance of the player dad, he ends up partnering with Craig which I think from memory was popular due to Craig and the player dad having a history together, and I'm a fan of that too.

Overall it was a neat collection of stories and if you like Dream Daddy or just dads in general, as well as comedic comics then I'd say I'd recommend it.
