I’m bored, have a dreamtale Headcanon about their crowns that they wear.

The twins are actually like- super protective of their crowns. They will not take their crowns off unless it’s like an absolute 100% necessary life or death you need to take the crown off situation.

Even dream, the happy man himself would get angry if you touched his crown without permission and would give you a bit of a lecture. And passive even, as shy as he was, would lash out a little if anyone went for his crown (bullies tried a few times but soon learnt that it’s a big no no. It’s the only time passive would fight back. It would cause enough commotion that dream would notice and step in)

This also is a reason why it’s that much more dramatic that Corrupted took his crown off. (Don’t care if it’s canon but I imagine When he went corrupted, nightmare threw his crown away as a way of saying “F you, I don’t wanna be your family”)

Ever since that incident, Dream has been even more protective over keeping his crown on. He feels like if he takes it off, even for a second, it breaks some sort of metaphorical bond. He also went out of his way to find his brothers crown and keep it safe and clean as if it was still in use, so one day if Passive ever comes back, he can return the crown to him as if he was never gone.

Other than their emotional meaning to them tho, the crowns are…actually completely useless and even a burden actually. I mean, they’re made of gold! Pure gold!(yeah that’s another headcanon. They’re pure gold, which is also another reason the twins are so protective of em cause they can’t just replace pure gold) .That shit soft af they gotta be careful they aren’t accidentally denting that shiz. They don’t serve any magical purpose, they’re just fancy.

If nightmare was to stay alone in his castle after killer (Canon events of killer) leaves with color, I think he would act out of his usual grumpy, ugly, serious self, and instead would use the castle as a massive playground of his own. Since (sorry, I'm putting a bit of canon dreamtale), he would have remnants of p!nightmare. Since p!nightmare is dead, corrupt nightmare only held on to the memories and not by choice, but because of the vessel that was p!nightmare.

Again, just me having a headcanon, none of this goes according to whatever joku has stated, but tbh canon dreamtale sucks story wise :^

With how their whole positivity/negativity thing works (and that they're the only ones who can mortally wound each other), what if Dream and Nightmare aren't able to physically touch anymore?

Imagine, in the past, the brothers' main love language was physical touch (hugs, play fighting, etc). But after they ate the apples, the negativity and positivity act like poison to the other as a defense mechanism.

Any prolonged contact will burn Dream and make Nightmare's corruption boil and melt. It is extremely painful for both of them.

Imagine how this affects them in Parallel Synthesis.

When after all the fighting, after they've settled on a truce, after they've found peace and are able to actually be brothers again,

there will always be that one thing they can never have back.

Btw this takes place during the lunch meeting mentioned here! The stars and the gang decided to have an outdoors lunch :]

What makes them happy

🎡 Undertale (Classic): He’s a simple guy. The kind to try and appreciate every moment. What makes him happy is probably also the most important thing for him: his family. Nothing can make Sans smile more than a nice hang out with his brother, either it be at home or going out for some food. Papyrus is always there to chit chat with him, and he likes listening. But all of the above can apply to his special someone… Underfell (Red): Another simple guy! He likes when someone thinks about him, in general. Obviously, he very rarely felt that way considering his universe is the contrary of kindness. It did happen, long ago, that his brother would make cards or handmade gifts for him. It’s the fact that those things were directed to him that made him so happy. Now, any kind of attention towards him makes his soul skip a beat. Underswap (Blue): Holidays, his favorite thing ever. He just absolutely adores seeing everyone gather up, naturally happy and appreciating each other's company. Any kind of event that includes him welcoming people to his home, cooking and providing for them. He loves feeling helpful and making others feel at ease. Blue likes the simplicity of holiday joy, that’s when he feels the happiest. Dreamtale (Dream): Similar to Blue, of course he likes helping others, it’s his duty and reason to be alive. However… We all have a selfish side, and his selfishness created the fact that what makes him happy is getting favors in return. Not anything life threatening, just a task to assign someone in return for his protection. He also likes being pampered. He takes care of everyone, why can’t somebody hug him too? He’d very much like that, and he deserves it. Dreamtale (Nightmare): Now why would he want to be happy? He hates it and hates everyone in this stupid post. Kidding. Sadly for him, it makes his soul tingle a bit in happiness when he gets something new to read. He especially likes those big spined books, with shiny writing and sometimes embroidery of uncommon color. He’s also a fan of classic old decor, as long as it’s dark enough. He likes his environment, that’s what makes him… Satisfied.

 Inktale (Ink): It’s confusing him. Sometimes he likes things, and other times he hates said things. But something he obviously likes is art. Art is so vague, it can represent anything, it can even make the worst soulless ink-made skeleton in the universe relate to an ambiance or sentiment. It doesn’t need to be happy to be beautiful, and neither does he. That’s what he likes so much about it.

So, in true Sans fashion, he hasn’t given any pet names very much thought. Hun is really just the first thing that comes out of his mouth, so it’s the thing that sticks.

My Dear - Possessive. Domineering. Even a bit mocking. That’s what Nightmare is going for when he calls you his dear. It, like everything in his existence, is about control. ‘Don’t you like that, my dear?’ ‘Isn’t this what you wanted, my dear?’ ‘You must be so happy here, my dear.’ However, after so much time together, the weight of his taunting is the same anymore. Perhaps, there is something familiar, common and comfortable, about the way his words sit in your chest- which is about as close to love as Nightmare is going to get.

Bonus:

My darling - It’s the other side of the same coin. When Dream calls you his darling, it fills you with warmth. The positive aura he admits just floods you, making you smile no matter what. ‘Does this make you happy, my darling?’ ‘I adore your smile, my darling’ ‘You must be so happy here, my darling’. He always means well, but there is a wide chasm between you and him. Perhaps, under the weight of his responsibilities and heartache, there is room to have genuine love for you. For now, this positive warmth, is safe and familiar, common and comfortable.

Want some trans headcanons? Come and get them

Nightmare is a trans man. Because he is like over 500 and transitioned so long ago, he sometimes forgets he is trans till he sees an old photo of him and has to back track to remember that was him.

Dream is non-binary. They mostly use they/them, but really doesn't care what people call them. They dress both masc and fem, and Nightmare likes to tease them by calling them the opposite of what the stereotypical 'gender' of there clothes are (if they are wearing a dress, Nightmare will call them brother)

Ink is... Something. He uses he/him mostly, but is also good with they and it. As for gender, Ink will just look at you if you ask then give you a thumbs up

Error is agender and uses he/it. He will do the opposite of Ink, and if you ask, it will give you a thumbs down.

Killer is fluidflux. So one day he feels really like a boy, the next just a bit gender number, another a mix of everything. Killer mostly uses he/they, but could care less in all honesty. I also like the idea of Killer wearing a hijab sometimes.

Cross is transfem and bigender. Cross uses she/he. Nightmare makes it a point, when referring to his team, to say 'boys... And Cross's even though he doesn't need to. Cross will get dressed in pretty dresses... Before going on a mission for Nightmare and coming home covered in blood.

Dust is a trans man too, because I say so. The hoodie started off as a dysphoria hoodie, and now he will not take it off. Nightmare commonly helps Dust make sure he is not dying when he wears a binder, because Dust will forget to take it off so Nightmare will drag him away to take if off.

One thing I really want to see explored more when it comes to Nightmare’s character is the fact that he doesn’t lie.

Nightmare “never lies, only hides the truth.”

Nightmare being manipulative, twisting people’s words and disguising meanings is much more interesting than him simply lying to someone’s face and giggling about it later…

The amount of intentionality and intellect that goes into twisting the truth is, in my opinion, infinitely more intimidating.
