Okay, so I’m thinking about spider monster or drider preds now.

-Being caught in a sticky web, struggling only getting yourself more stuck. Great for fearplay. Especially if the pred is teasing you, or you’re trying not to alert them to your presence.

-The pred wrapping you in silk before eating you up. It’s an interesting experience, getting wrapped up is either cozy or frightening depending on how willing you are.

-They might give you a bite, but it won’t be fatal. The venom will just make you weak and easier to swallow.

-In the case of driders, there might be two bellies. A human one and one in the spider abdomen. Bonus points if they’re different textures, colors, etc.

Screw it I’ve been looking for a list of vore tropes and stuff and can’t seem to find any! so you know what I’m going to make my own.

(Almost all of these I imagine as safe or has the option to be safe.)

Feel free to use this as an ask game too!

Story tropes:

Knight in shining armor (protection vore)

A heroic meal (protection vore but eating the bad guy)

Dragons sacrifice (poor soul(s) offered to a monster)

A bet (stupid idea + pride leads to shenanigans)

Feral/ lost to instincts (pred looses control of themselves)

Oh no you don’t! (Pred keeping prey from doing something stupid)

Tummy time out (prey annoyed/upset pred too much and ended in tummy as punishment)

Extreme cuddling (just as it says. both wanna be cozy together and what better way than inside a tum?)

dentist (thorough cleaning but with its own risks of being eaten due to being within a mouth)

VIP (very important prey, gets a nice backstage show ending in a belly.)

betrayal (prey gets gobbled up by friend and feels betrayed that they were nothing more than a meal/snack to who they thought they could trust.)

always close (pred hugging belly close or always having a hand over their precious cargo)

experiments! (Scientists doing things inside just because they are curious!)

overprotective (either pred or prey but they are possessive of their friend they aren’t allowed to be eaten by/eat anyone else!)

teasing (being charismatic or using double meaning words to get a snack or message across~)

domestic (a happy couple/ roommates sharing some nomes after cleaning together or getting things settled from the days adventures.)

robot (safely store items and prey at optimal temperatures and in a safe environment until threat has passed, or scans are completed, etc)

mine! (Hoarding things where NOONE can get to without their permission)

strings/equipment included (keeping prey on something to help them get out, though it may or may not fail depending on the pred)

demons deal (you got what you want and what they want in return is a nice meal~)

drink addition (prey floating in a drink and going down to their own special pool)

hot and cold (hot belly’s for cold days and cool belly’s for hot days)

Tired of the same ole' creatures munching on your preys? Need some ideas for a new pred oc? Then you've found the right post!

Welcome to Carn is a nerd and knows a lot of man eating monsters!

Starting off with the classics, we've got: Giants, werewolves, naga, and dragons! Might I suggest different kinds of giants! We have a variety: cloud, frost, fire, storm, and hill and all the others from that lovely tabletop game, but have you heard of Fomorians? Next off, werewolves! Gotta love them, but maybe you're a tad tired of the wolfish features? What's stopping you from making any other kind of lycanthrope! Weretiger? Wereshark (may he rest in peace)? Werecroc? Heck, anything can be a wonderful pred cursed to transform under the moonlight.

Moving on, let's mention some new ones! Ghouls, a creepy undead creature that devours flesh of both dead and living! Driders, a wonderfully terrifying mixture of human and spider! Or what of their lesser known, equally scary, and quite naga-esk friends: Oomukade! A human upperhalf with the long body of a Centipede?

Taking from my own pfp, a Peryton! Mixture of bird and stag with a penchant for human hearts! Another goodie, Oni! ogre-esk Yo/kai that, while some may be good, also have a craving for humans! Slimes are always a good choice: so many fun colors and so malleable!

Vampiric creatures are always fun, but there's a million different ones! From Aswang and Pennanengal more gruesome ones, to Jiangshi the hopping vampire and Baku the nightmare eaters!

Special shout out to Yara-Ma-Yha-Who that are literally small red men that devour humans whole!

Rakshasa are tiger-men with backward hands known to eat people!

Dinosaurs, especially the carnivorous ones? Top tier. Didn't chew. Along that line, pterodactyls and pelicans? Birds like to eat prey whole.

Don't forget Mimics! A shapeshifting creature hidden in plain sight? And merfolk! Can't imagine a hungry shark mer would pass up some prey, now would they?

The Hydra? Many heads=many mouths. I'm just saying.

Bottom line is, many things can make good preds.

I suggest looking into mythology, our ancestors created a lot of monsters that like to eat people. Just make sure to learn about the creatures you're using.

And as for animal preds, I always make them humanoid or have the ability to transform into the creature- (having straight up animal preds might be considered kinda weird, especially if sexualized and I do not condone.)

I'll probably do another of these, listing off more creatures good for vore potential another time - there's plenty more.

Terato/Exo Book List

Do you keep searching for that perfect novel? The one monster, alien, or non-human romance in a published work that captures you? But you just keep ending up on half-baked Goodreads lists curated by someone’s lonely mom who thinks changing a bodybuilder to the color purple is monstrous? Well look no further because I’ll read those books for you and rate them for an exophilia audience!

Right now the list is too short to be split into more categories, but as I add more I may include categories. 

They read like this: Book name, author name: Brief synopsis and sometimes a comment on it’s content, themes, or my enjoyment. {Whether or not the love interest is monstrous/alien/etc, whether it ends happy, if there was romance/sex, sometimes include if there’s major death} (a rating of my personal enjoyment out from 1 to 10)

✦ A Soul to Keep (Duskwalker Brides Book 1) by Opal Reyne: “Bad omen” Reia is offered up to the human-eating Orpheus, who only wants a human companion. Reia must decide whether to risk running away or learn to like him and stay. Multiple long and detailed sex scenes and pred-prey kink. Has romance but it’s sort of 2nd to the smut. Not great but not terrible writing. Has rape victim blaming in it though, and sadly some non-consensual touching a the beginning. {Skull-head monster/human, happy ending} (7/10)

✦ Be Kind My Neighbor by Yugo Limbo: Wegg, a drifting musician, comes to the town of Baths and meets the friendly neighborhood handyman, Mr. Neighbor. They grow closer as a string of mysterious murders continue to rise in number. This one is a comic. Cults, horror, goopy gay trans love, kinky sex scenes, gorgeous psychedelic art! Mr. Neighbor is a living cloth-man with some fun things underneath (wink) and Wegg is an egg-person. I’m ALWAYS a big fan of Yugo’s work! {They’re both human shaped but Mr. Neighbor is monstrous in his own right, romance and sex, happy ending} (10/10)

✦ The Last Hour of Gann by R. Lee Smith: Amber, her sister Nicci, and a group of about 40 humans are stranded on an unknown alien planet. With the help of a medieval alien lizardman named Meoraq they travel to a temple that the humans hope is an ancient transmissions tower or skyport. It’s 421k words long, full to the brim with rape, fatphobia, misogyny, misandry, emotional abuse, second hand embarrassment... first read some reviews if you want to consider this. {Humanoid alien lizard man, romance and sex, mostly a happy ending. But way too long and rape scenes seemed fetishy} (4/10)

✦ The Mabon Feast (Wheel of the Year #1) by C. M. Nascosta: A witch ousted by her community takes a tenant into her Victorian house in order to make ends meet and not feel lonely. Turns out the only tenant she can get is a mysterious and sickly drider. She almost never sees him. Over the course of a few months things change between them and an aphrodisiac-like scent permeates the house. Things come to a head and get spicy. Very well written but sometimes overwhelmingly flowery! {Non-human spider centaur- i.e. a drider- love interest, fun but somewhat extreme sexual acts, happy ending} (8/10)

✦ Noumena Series (Axiom’s End/Truth of the Divine/Book 3 TBA) by Lindsay Ellis: A first-contact story with serious themes of xenophobia (alien and human) and severe mental illness. Cybernetic insectoid raptor-shaped alien/human romance. No human/alien smut in books 1-2, book 3 yet to be seen but the author has implied they might have sex in it. I suggest reading trigger warnings for this series. {Very non-human love interest, very sad story especially book 2. Found the plot, themes, and writing to be engaging with a few small writing-style annoyances.} (9/10)

✦ The Shape of Water (tie-in book) by Daniel Kraus: A re-telling of the film The Shape of Water. It runs through different characters’ perspectives, including the fishman. It has vague descriptions of human/monster sex, which is still more than the film gave. Ends like the movie. {Human-shaped but monstrous fishman, ends bittersweet but they don’t die, romantic. Found the writing to be somewhat droll at times.} (6/10)

✦ The Scorpion's Mate (Iriduan Test Subjects #1) by Susan Trombley: A human gets abducted for alien government experiments and learns she’s meant to be a mutant scorpion alien’s broodmare. Very generic romance novel writing, not very romantic, but sex scenes hot with fun kinks like pheromones. Has an odd kink of eating food secreted out of a dick hole though. {Very non-human, vanilla sex but non-vanilla kinks, happy ending. Generic writing.} (6/10) 

✦ Strange Love (Galactic Love #1) by Ann Aguirre: An alien accidentally abducts a human and her dog and she decides to go through challenges with him to prove they’re compatible mates. The alien is a non-humanoid insect-lizard thing with weird funky alien junk. Sex scenes are great, but I found the story and characterizations to be extremly lacking. {Very non-human love interest, interesting GNC sex scenes, bitter sweet ending. But the writing wasn’t too great. You get the sense that she was bored writing it.} (4/10)

✦{NOT WHAT YOU’RE LOOKING FOR}

✖ The Ender Saga by Orson Scott Card: Consists of Ender’s Game, Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, and Children of the Mind. Ender’s Game is the shortest, simplest, and imo best written. The first is a sci-fi classic worth reading, but is about a child with no romance. However, it’s sequels feature a multidimensional-controlling A.I. in it that eventually falls in love with a human, becomes human, and marries him. But romance is not a part of this series, these relationships are just sorta stated matter-o-fact. It’s not what you’re looking for and Card is a bit of a nasty person. The series also has weird focus on trying to paint colonialism and religious indoctrination into Christianity in a good light, and oddly has incestuous themes.  (Insectoid aliens, “pig” aliens, multidimensional A.I./human.} (Ender’s Game: 8/10)

October is upon us, which means it’s time for some spooky preds!

-Werewolves. Who doesn’t love a massive, hungry, slavering beast?

-Vampires. They may or may not have a taste of your blood first (maybe a separate blood stomach so things don’t get messy...)

-Zombies or revenants. They tend to have near bottomless hunger, and their insides are bound to be very slimy.

-Ghosts, very underrated as preds.

-Driders, or spider-taurs. Getting caught in their web, wrapped up, swallowed whole...not such a bad way to spend the night.

-Gargoyles. Perhaps they’re trying to keep you away from their territory...or protect you from something even scarier than them.

-Dragons, of course. Especially spooky or Halloween themed ones (oh, like that original species that still only exists in my Google docs).

-Witches. Shrinking potions, foodplay, food transformation even...with a bit of magic, anything is possible!

-Demons. Could involve a ritual gone wrong, a sacrifice to a hungry beast, or perhaps just summoning one to eat you.

-Giant creatures in general, such as snakes, bats, spiders, frogs, etc.

Hue hue hue (Idk, I like to use this as laughter). More Hummingbird Dream being consumed. I’m evil, I’m sorry.

Trigger Warning For: Fatal vore, reformation, vore, blood, gore, drowning, cruel preds, dehumanization, and just generally not a fun time for Dream. You have been warned.

Dream stared at the hybrids surrounding him; acid burns covered most of his body, a thin layer of mucus and saliva kept him from flying away. Even then, if his feathers weren’t caked down, Technoblade had a web ready to throw over him, and Wilbur stood by ready to grab him out of the air if need be. Quackity had added two new hybrids: Sapnap and Karl; a horned lizard hybrid and… some colorful bird species, respectively.

“So… You ate him, and he came back?” Techno asked for the third time in a row.

No one believed Punz, but the proof was there, right in front of them. Dream wished Punz would just let it go and devour Dream again, letting the other fight amongst themselves until no one remained.

Punz sighed for the hundredth time; “yes! Look, if you don’t believe me, you have him and you’ll see I’m telling the truth!”

Techno’s face scrunched up, head shaking slowly. He didn’t want to run the risk of killing the only food source they have.

Wilbur growled, jumping down next to Dream from his spot. “Fine! I’ll test it out!” Wilbur grabbed Dream by his wings, dragging the small hybrid closer as Dream let out a squeak of terror, clawing at the air to get away from the inevitable.

“No, no, no, no! Wait!” Dream called out, screaming as Wilbur bit into his shoulder, tearing out a bloody chunk of flesh before devouring it. Dream fought harder, struggling to break free, eyes darting around, pleading for someone to help him. “Techno, please! Please!” Dream managed to land a decent kick, momentarily stunning Wilbur enough for Dream to fall and try to scramble away.

Wilbur growled, pinning Dream to the ground as he tore the beautiful green wings from the smaller hybrid. Dream’s hand clawed deep gouges into the dirt, tear streaming down his face as he yelled, looking at the other hybrids surrounding him. “Sapnap! Sapnap, please! Please! Make him stop!”

The spikey lizard hybrid didn’t say anything, just scrunched his face up in disgust. Dream’s eyes trailed to the colorful bird hybrid next to Sapnap; “Karl… Karl!” The other avian’s face contorted in sympathetic pain, but he also didn’t move, instead backing away from the growing puddle of blood. Wilbur suddenly crunches down on Dream’s neck, strangled plea-cry falling from the hummingbird hybrid’s bloody lips, hand reaching out towards Techno. Dream collapsed, darkness engulfing him as his heart finally stopped.

The world came flooding back, colors and sound overwhelming him for a moment as he focused in on the hybrids talking.

“He’s still not back.”

“Well, I don’t know how long it takes.”

“Ha. Imagine that! I get the last meal any of us ever have here! How poetic!”

“You will be a meal then, idiot.”

Dream sat up, looking towards the commotion. The other hybrids were gathered in a circle, talking to each other, not caring about their volume. He stood, as quietly as possible, crouching slightly as he backed up, carefully placing his feet to make as little noise as possible. He was almost a decent distance away that he would consider flying, when something dropped down behind him. Dream froze, staying perfectly still. The other hybrids fell silent, finally noticing him and looking towards him.

“Holy shit…” Wilbur muttered, eyes widening. “You guys see him, or have I lost my mind?”

Arms wrapped around Dream, holding him tightly as his instincts finally kicked back in. His legs kicked out and he yelled, squirming in a desperate attempt to get away from the drider.

“Well, you both had a turn, and I’ve been here just as long as you two. I need food now.” Dream looked up to Techno, horror in his expression as he caught sight of the glistening, venom-filled fangs the hybrid had. Dream tried to squirm out of the drider’s grasp for one last time before he felt the sharp sting of those same fangs piercing his skin. Dream sucked in a sharp breath, shoulder burning as the venom ran through his blood; his body quickly falling limp as the paralytic agent took over.

Dream stared, unable to move as Techno took bites out of his body. He could feel it though, Christ he could feel the drider’s teeth grind and scrape against his bones. Dream glanced at the other hybrids, but they went back to talking in hushed tones, and he was left to deal with the feeling and sound of Techno eating him alive. His heart, curse this stupid venom; if he weren’t dealing with this stupid venom his heart would have killed him by now, but no, Techno just had to paralyze him before eating him. Dream watched, his body slowly disappearing into bloody chunks as Techno eats his fill. What he doesn’t eat he lets fall unceremoniously to the ground, Dream stared, watching the predators talking amongst themselves before darkness enveloped him.

Dream gasped, loudly, air flooding his lungs as he came back. They surrounded him. They were watching him come back. Silence filled the space as the predators stared at Dream and Dream stared back. He needed to breathe, to take a moment to recover. A surprised gasp escaped as he was grabbed by the leg and lifted into the air, coming face-to-face with Sapnap.

“Don’t… It hurts…”

The spiked lizard hybrid looked to his fiancé, face contorting in worry before he took a deep breath and closed his eyes, raising Dream higher and dangling the poor hybrid over his open maw.

“Sapnap, please don’t-” Dream was cut off as he was dropped into the waiting mouth, teeth snapping shut on his legs behind him. Dream pushed against the tongue, trying to back out as the predator’s mouth opened again, the tongue darting out to drag Dream’s legs into the maw. Dream was curled into a ball, doing his best to fight against the muscle that was licking him and covering him in saliva. Dream found himself on his back, Sapnap’s head tilting up as the excess saliva was swallowed, Dream nearly falling into the dark tunnel that was his esophagus. Dream’s hands darted out at the last minute, nails digging into the soft flesh while his wings spread for extra support. “Fuck no! I’m done with this!”

Being this close to Sapnap’s throat, he could hear the hybrid suddenly start choking, the others speaking in panic as saliva came back up from his throat. Still, Dream grit his teeth and tried to pull himself out. He was done being a source of eternal food for some random predators and bigger hybrids, he was done being hurt and used by others. He was right to not trust anyone, right to doubt and care only about himself, right to let go of everything and everyone he cared about.

Sapnap’s mouth was suddenly flooded with water, and Dream caught a glimpse of colorful feathers and a dark cup. Dream’s eyes widened, and he had just enough time to take a breath and hold it, the water washing over him and making the already slick flesh walls slicker. Then Dream lost his grip. His eyes widened and a bubbling scream left him as he slipped down the dark tube of Sapnap’s throat, arms pinned to his side and water nearly drowning him before he dropped into the stomach.

Dream grunted, landing on his upper back, his wings pinned beneath him with his legs above his head. Of all the positions to be in, this was the worst. Sure, Sapnap was large enough to swallow him whole, but only just barely. Dream growled, glaring up where he could assume Sapnap’s head was. The stomach was filled with mostly water at this point, but Dream knew it was only a matter of time before it was more acid that water. He sighed, trying to force his heart to relax, he would rather not have two heart attacks in one day. Then again, that would be preferable to being soaked in acid. Dream shuddered at the memory of being trapped in Punz’s stomach. The snake’s body worked so slow, even when compared to other reptile hybrids like Sapnap. Three days… Three days of pure hell. And even after that it didn’t stop, because his body would decide to wake up in a worse state; you know, just so his conscious could get a status update.

Another wave of water came pouring in, filling the open space and trapping Dream underwater. Oh, that was… Dream closed his eyes, mentally preparing himself. He had drowned in acid, drowned in lava, drowned in dirt, gravel, sand, anything and everything you could imagine, except water. Dream sucked in a breath, his eyes flying open as his lungs burned and his body convulsed, contorting in the tight space as it sought out oxygen that was not a liquid. His heart raced and his mind went blanks as adrenaline and fear took over, black dots filling his eyes before he suddenly blacked out.

Sapnap groaned, curled up against Karl with a hand on his stomach. Dream had nearly choked him, and now his stomach was in pain from the sudden fight that had filled the hummingbird. But… his former friend was still now, unmoving. It didn’t help the pain Sapnap felt in his body though; even after all this time Dream was still strong and able to land a painful kick.

At least, that’s what Sapnap kept telling himself.

Do you have a particular favorite species for pred or prey?

Favorite prey species is easy to answer, it's human, because I'm human who likes to imagine themselves in the place of the prey they are writing and I find writing comes easier that way.

Favorite pred species is a bit harder seeing as I just generalize them under the term monsters, but it's a tie between Nagas, Driders and Magical Skeletons (They're magic and I'm a filthy sinner so I'm not sorry in the least)
