Why?

Because I have a problem.

I have no idea if I got there relationship right in this scene because I can't read emotions. I took the scene from the song change when they were floating through the sky and converted it into this au. I have the most vague idea that I remember Steven once yelling "I don't care" but I have no idea where it is from.

A thing I wrote for Driftswap

I know. I know this is late. And im sorry. My writing motivation lately has been lackluster to say the least but! I’m getting back into it! This is a fanwork thing for @driftswap​, a beautiful switching AU that I recommend you all check out. That being said lets launch into the thing. 

The injector looming on the cliff seemed familiar. Too familiar for Spinel. Of course the reason was clear, but that didn’t make it better. The bright pink biotoxin bubbled in the giant glass drill, a luminous chemical mixture that boiled and turned. Even more unsettling than the weapon itself was the top, a single pale rose of glass that gleamed in the waning sunlight.

The gems had already readied their weapons, and Spinel had done the same. All except pearl who stood transfixed in shock, hand clasped tightly over her mouth. Spinel wanted to check on her, to make sure she was alright, but she was cut off by the figure perched on the injector’s edge.

“So” He said, his voice echoing from something he held in his hand. “This is the crystal gems” The figure jumped from the edge, landing perfectly and standing slowly with a twisted grin. “I must admit, I’m disappointed. I expected better”

He paced back and forth, looking them up and down. Nobody moved except pearl, who after a moment finally took out her spear. Everyone else seemed just as confused as Spinel, by this young human in his strange clothes and scarred flesh. 

“I expected an army and what did I get? A bunch of heathens ruled by demons, that’s what. A scandalous crossbreed, two misfits who can’t be without each other... A little runaway plaything.... An ugly little droll of a defect... And, of course, you.” 

He said this last part with a pained smirk, tracing his finger along Pearl’s cheek. Finally, garnet cut him off. “Stop this! Tell us what you want and who you are and go”

“Tell you who I am?” He laughed, loud and full, tipping his head back and letting loose a sound that was a perfect blend of glee and pain. “You mean this wretched little broken pearl didn’t tell you? Why, I’m Pink Diamond!”

I know it’s probably not very good, I haven’t drafted because I wanted to get this out and my DnD game is about to start, but I hope some people enjoyed

If steven was at the zoo the whole time then how did the courrupted gem get healed, since pink's essence is needed to heal them.

The Diamonds had a reserve of Pink’s essence saved as a reminder of her! They put this in the water at Rose’s fountain.

1. i love time travel aus!! theres always something interesting about how characters from the past and future interact with each other

2. swap aus are really fun too! where the protagonist and antagonist swap alignments or situations (villain aus done well are a guilty pleasure of mine)

3. ngl i still love madoka aus theres just something innately angsty about it and im always for angst

4. fairytale aus are also really fun!! theres just something about having the characters weaved into a well-known superstition/folklore

Fun fact; from when Steven was six until the beginning of Era Three, the only other person to know he is half gem is Holly Blue Agate. She was sort of a guardian figure to him, teaching him about his gem culture as well as his human culture.

Holly Blue assumed he was part Rose Quartz, so she chose not to expose him to the same fate the other Rose Quartzes shared. @driftswap

So I found out about this SU AU called Driftswap and it's completely taken over my life. Kinda it's fighting a bit with DBH for number 1.

Also like i haven't posted in over a year. So if you see style changes that is why. It's been a year. I have been posting else where though.

Anyway like go check @driftswap this is great. The story is great and I get the feeling their Steven would probably have fun with my Steven.
