Thank you so much for the tag! I saw someone's else's earlier and was hoping it'd make its way to me because I love these games!
The playlist I have on repeat has over 80 songs and is roughly 4hrs long. I was hoping one of my Halloween songs would come on, or one of the newer songs I added to the list (Driving Myself Home is usually the song I click on to open the playlist cause I'm currently obessed). However, shuffle didn't do a terrible job at showcasing my playlist.

Does anyone know if this... genre. Has a specific name?
I'd say two of the strong representatives are the games Devil May Cry 1 and 2, Metal Gear Solid 2.
It also applies to music.
Mostly: Sinner (Drowning Pool), Tri-Polar (Sick Puppies), Getting away with murder and Infest (Papa Roach)
It's visually mostly dark desaturated colours in contrast with vibrant ones, lots of rough textures like concrete in art or low poly. Mix of big empty spaces like cathedrals (or whatever is going on dmc) and labs and metal constructions. All coming from the late 90s early 2000 (for some reason most of these are from 2001 specifically).
In music it's Nu Metal, Rock... Post grunge? Emotional songs with negative emotions like hate, betrayal, anger, despair...
Probably will delete this when I get an answer.
