Despite what many people say, it’s more closer to the Doctor’s Plot which happened in the Soviet union under Stalin who ordered the arrest, dismissal, and of Jewish doctors due to a (bullshit) conspiracy that they were out to get them. And after he died, the new leaders declared it was a fabrication. But again it shows the scary hold a ruler can have on a country if he has total power and answers to no one. And again sees his subjects as toys to play with.

i think theres something to be said for the vibes of certain arcs in one piece. not every arc has this clarity of being- but some of them do.

drum kingdom is the only one ive really talked about here, it tastes a bit like hot cocoa. it is the feeling of being sick in the middle of the night while whoever your person is makes you hot tea. its christmas, sure, but it's also everything that comes with that. family, pajamas, the feeling of cold air. it can be uncomfortable, too. just like christmas. the sequence where luffy climbs the drum is something i can never personally look directly at and its a scene that makes me as uncomfortable as possible. drum kingdom is the new year.

water 7 is the feeling you get in the moment just before you're mad. that pause and realization. its a liminal space, where both every emotion exists at once and no emotions exist at all. it's the feeling of being profoundly uncomfortable. like music you can't hear enough to fully enjoy. its repression. its the process of getting worse. its not just bad, moreso in a perpetual state of transition. it feels like spiralling. it feels like all your friends are in a fight and you just have to sit there listening. its intimate interpersonal discomfort. it feels like shit in a way that is so profoundly close to something you've personally experienced that it'll remind you of that and then you have to sit with it. no resolution . it's falling with the knowledge that either your close person pushed you off or it's your fault.
