It isn’t every day a city gets to celebrate its 292nd anniversary. One might think the resources needed to cover the expense of such a celebration would be better used elsewhere, perhaps to marginally close the wage gap between the richest and the poorest of the city. Others might find it odd to even celebrate anything that didn’t amount to a centennial. Mayor Matthews, on the other hand, sees opportunity. The second year of his term is hardly too early to foster some goodwill between himself and those who would eventually hold his fate in their ballots.

So the Mayor has decided to host a celebratory gala in the Port Cado Botanical Gardens, arguably the most beautiful place in the entire city. It will be completely free and open to the public, so all will have the opportunity to witness his humanitarian compassion in person.

When entering the Botanical Gardens on the evening of Saturday, May 21, one might notice a strange energy to the beautiful glass ballroom, lit up with fairy lights that can be seen from the surrounding gardens. It may be rare for a city to celebrate its 292nd anniversary, but in Port Cado, there is a rarer thing still. Tonight, in this one place, company from all walks of life mingle in the same ballroom. Friends, enemies, and anything in between might meet. 

Who knows what secrets might be kept in the darkest corners of the garden?

The Port Cado 292nd Anniversary Gala event will take place in-game on Saturday, May 21. Event starters can be posted through Monday, May 23, but threads can be continued past that. Please try to stick to one event starter per player in order to give everyone a chance to post a starter. As always, we encourage lots of plotting between players before the start of the event!

Now that the details are out of the way, let us just take this moment to say thank you for continuing to write with us. Our RP anniversary is May 16, which is so wild, and we’re all just incredibly happy to have our little family in our little corner of the internet. To another year of writing these incredible, fun, nuanced characters!
