y’all ever notice that the ways that Dave shows love (or doesn’t show love) are similar to things that Henry did to him? There’s the obvious stuff like giving Jack eternal life through springlocking, taking Jack to Vegas, the destination Henrys circus never reached, killing kids as a bonding activity, sharing the keys to the box, etc etc. but there’s also other things I’ve noticed that connect back to Henry. Henry recorded him and watched him constantly, so Dave puts cameras in Jacks house and has constant access to him via the vents. Henry likely never initiated much physical contact with Dave that wasn’t experimental or surgical, so Dave almost never initiates physical contact with Jack. Henry was dismissive of Dave’s thoughts and feelings, so Dave is dismissive of jack’s thoughts and feelings. It’s the only way he has ever experienced ‘love’, and it’s the only way he knows how to express love.

one thing I really like about Davesport is that Dave and Jack both have an equal ability to be the toxic and abusive one in the relationship, and who it is changes depending on your choices. Dave is violent, unpredictable, manipulative, obsessive, invasive, insecure, and good at hiding evidence. But Dave is also incredibly vulnerable, and those toxic qualities can be easily turned against him. Jack is intelligent, and knows how to get into peoples heads. Jack has very low empathy, and can make choices without a lot of emotion behind it (whether it’s because he’s soulless or it’s just jacks personality is up for debate, I think it’s a mix of both personally.) it can lead him to be more forgiving to mistakes (like how he forgives Dave much faster than anyone else, for better or for worse), but it also makes it much easier for him to manipulate people. He fakes such genuine kindness to Dee and Dave, both in reality and in the flipside, and still easily flips on a dime and uses their greatness weaknesses against them.

YAYY it’s out!!! I have actually been developing the story while working on this a well, and I’m beginning to get a semblance of a plot. Anyways, Part 3!!! After this, the story will really begin, generally speaking. Also, in a few we’ll be seeing postmortem Fredbear (yayyy!) so that’ll be very neat.
