yeah <3 - like, obviously i get the meta-textual reasons why the decision was made because i'm already familiar with the developmental history behind webby as a character in the original ducktales... but it's a decision i don't like lmao.

i can get behind the part where webby is scrooge's clone, because it made narrative sense and it's not like they had enough time to explore any alternatives, like dickie... though i personally would have been more interested in the cloning thing being dt17's explanation for Phooey Being Real (versus the triplets getting struck by lightning like in the comics) it still worked fine for the context and the story without detracting from anyone else's life or story - but you remember how frank held off on introducing daisy sooner because he felt his earlier ideas for her weren't letting daisy have enough of her own life outside of donald and scrooge's bullshit? i feel like deciding to look at her nieces and say "april doesn't really exist because she's webby, may and june are clones of webby, who is a clone of scrooge" is really counter-intuitive to letting daisy have her own life and family outside of donald and scrooge's bullshit, don't you think?

frankly i don't think it's a very imaginative way of writing in amj, who kind of... didn't even need to be written in anyways... nor is it a very imaginative way of setting them apart from hdl (SHRUGS) its perfectly fine for daisy to have a perfectly normal relationship with a perfectly normal sister who had triplet daughters that daisy sometimes babysits and it's not relevant to the story being told in ducktales. and its, quite frankly, altogether bizarre when you recall frank's claim that "everything is canon" - okay but frank do you remember the issues of the comics you reference in your show that depict amj as love interests to hdl? making them related isnt gonna suddenly make that go away, you know...

So I started thinking of an AU where Della didn't take the Spear of Selene and the bois grew up with their entire family and now I'm thinking....

In this AU, F.O.W.L. wouldn't have seen the need to make April/Webby

Cause Webby and the bois are the same age yeah? But we don't know exactly who was born first. We know the bois hatched in April 15 (HA! April!) but we don't know when Project #87 started. It's totally possible Project #87 got started after the bois were born

F.O.W.L. needed Scrooge's heir, right? But an "heir" doesn't necessarily have to be a direct child, it can be a niece or a nephew too, the show itself says so. Scrooge refers to them all as potential heirs.

So F.O.W.L. didn't need Scrooge to be a father really, they just needed Scrooge to have a child (or multiple children) in his family to potentially consider as his heir. This is why I believe Webby wasn't made until after Della left with the Spear of Selene.

Before Della got lost, Scrooge had 5 potential heirs right there. The twins and the unhatched Duck bois. F.O.W.L. didn't need to clone Scrooge, they just needed to wait until the eggs hatched and see if they could manipulate the triplets into getting them the papyrus.

But then Della got lost, one less potential heir. And Donald had a falling out with his uncle and left the mansion, one less potential heir. And the triplets were hatched and raised in the houseboat, without meeting Scrooge or even knowing they were related. Three less potential heirs.

No potential heirs

So now F.O.W.L. has a problem. And what do they do? That's when they make April/Webby.

So if Della didn't get lost and the family didn't break apart, then they wouldn't have made Webby.

More evidence to this is the fact that we see that Scrooge was living alone when Beakley moved in with him. Della and Donald were all already out of the picture before Beakley came to his door with a child.

Della knows Beakley as "Agent 22", she's surprised that she's the housekeeper now. So, we know that she didn't move in until after Della's disappearance.

So, in an AU where the Spear of Selene didn't happen, there's no Webby.

Tbh the extent of the abuse and isolation that Bradford enacted towards Scrooge is not talked about enough. Like the guy fully attempted to kill Della (and got her stranded on the moon for a decade), successfully killed Duckworth (which, correct me if I’m wrong, was shortly after Dellas disappearance? Meaning that he was intentionally offing everyone close to Scrooge in order to isolate and him and traumatize him so he wouldn’t stray from Bradfords grasp,,) , destroyed Scrooge’s family and life, manipulated Scrooge into basically feeling like without him he was nothing for a good while - as well as taking advantage of his grief (that Bradford himself caused) to make him give up on a crucial part of himself and think of it as trouble, and I know I already mentioned this but seriously he FULLY MURDERED DUCKWORTH????! OR AT LEAST CAUSED HIS DEATH IN SOME WAY?????? WHATTHE FUCK???

Can't You Tell stuff lets goooo

“I’m sorry,” he whispered through the tears, his voice high-pitched and shaky. 

Fenton’s hand was on his knee. “No, no you don’t have to apologize for this-” 

Gyro cut him off. “No. I’m sorry Fenton, I’m so sorry. I’m sorry for- for everything.” 

“Gyro…” 

It was all spilling out, and it was all Gyro could do to make it even comprehensible. He still had his face buried in his hands, still had tears running down his face. “I’m sorry for treating you horribly this morning, I’m sorry for storming off last night, I’m sorry for blaming you for all of this.” He had to get this all off his chest, at least. “I’m sorry for yelling at you and for always overreacting and that I was so awful to you about sharing a room and that I always end up hurting you and I’m sorry you have to see me like this.” 

There was silence throughout the room, occasionally broken by Gyro’s soft hiccuping sobs. At last, the inventor heard Fenton sigh. 

“You don’t have to apologize for this,” he repeated quietly. “And I forgive you. For all of it. It hurt- but I understand where you were coming from. I know that this has been a lot for you.” 

“I still- I still shouldn’t have taken it out on you,” Gyro swallowed, wiping his face so he could finally look up at Fenton. “I’m sorry for that.” 

“I forgive you,” Fenton smiled at him. 

The inventor blinked, both in surprise and to clear the tears from his eyes. “Why?”

It's a certain trio of ducks' birthday today, but I wanted to spotlight the unofficial fourth triplet for a bit. I've been curious as to when her birthday was celebrated considering the circumstances of her... "birth".

Is it the day she was cloned? Is it the day Beakley found her and took her home? Is it a third thing? Maybe it's just a random day that they decided was her birthday to keep up a cover story that she was a totally normal kid with a totally normal birthday.

The ‘Luz being possessed by the Collector’ theory came out of the ball park for me. I first started seeing note of it from the fanarts on Instagram. Seeing Luz with yellow and red eyes, her cloak blue and wreathed in stars, her face split in sun and moon.

I didn’t know how people developed this idea this was going to happen to her. I haven’t yet seen the support that is going toward this theory. I want to think it’s plausible, as I realize it’s a trend with Disney shows of a character being possessed. Don’t know which I speak about? How about Gravity Falls, Amphibia, Star vs the Forces of Evil, DuckTales 2017.

I said it’s possible, but these coming episodes had to have something occur in order for me to be like, oh yeah she’s going to be possessed.

Then “Clouds on the Horizon” came out. Luz took Hunter’s place, and is being taken to Belos. The Collector at the beginning was talking about about including a third playmate.

Let me get this straight:

Zaion accidentally ate the gold gear because it spontaneously switched places thanks to the same dark force that originated from the Relic, thus further confirming that Otes/The Creator is the big bad of GO RUSH!! and will definitely be brought back thanks to SEVENS fanservice…

Yudias randomly gets Darkness Dwarf (thus making the Darkness series used by Otes the evil cards of GO RUSH!!) for no explained reason, which makes Epoch being afraid of him being possessed by it feel like added angst in their teacher-student relationship for the sake of having angst until we do get an explanation…

And Yudias also makes it to the Galaxy Cup finals because the writers gave Zaion lots of Duel Points beforehand thanks to plot convenience? PURE, LAZY PLOT CONVENIENCE considering how rushed this tournament arc has been?
