so we literally we trying to start the first part of the final free movie when we were SO CONFUSED and had to go back because Road to the World is NOT just a Recap movie, and more like a Dive to the Future+ paid DLC definitive that NEEDS to be watched before The Final Strokes

anyway Road to the World kind of saved Dive to the Future, given that they add a bunch of context to certain things and flesh other things out properly. Not to say that you can just watch the Road to the World because DttF still has a bunch of stuff the movie breezes over (most of the Ikuya stuff)

it really did feel like they could have maybe made DttF a two cour thing and took their time with it but decided to just make it a movie instead???

hate hate hate hate rage rage rage (rage onsdjlfskfjskf) stop making movies even though free is original content and not adapted from anything but the fact that they wanted to make money from a movie and sell it as a "recap" but its practically 45% new content what the fucking hell

But seriously? That image has got me balling and, if it is what we think it is (pretty sure it is despite the huge blur), makes the most sense and it's ABOUT TIME!! Haru wouldn't have even touched this stage in his life if it wasn't for Makoto's (and his friends) love and support. Of COURSE, in reality of Haru's character, he would serve his medals to him!-

Which, btw, can I just say I really did headcanon and read in fanfiction Haru rewarding all the medals he gets to Makoto cause he appreciates him so much? The fanfictions write themselves 🙂

But yeah, all I have to say is... Makoharu canon! 🎉

I feel empty and full in my heart for Free! I just finished the second part to Final Stroke.

Some thoughts...

First, they drew a little black girl!!! She was so cute uggghhh!Very cute design.

Second, KyoAni doing what they do best by flexing the bg. Music is always good, gonna have to go back and see if I can Shazam them.

Third, I wish majors were mentioned to since they are in university. Rarely do anime focus on young adults/adults in college, so it would been cool since I doubt EVERYONE was gonna swim proffessional.

Fourth, Iwatobi's seniors. Not including the new kids from DttF. But bring as Gou,Rei and Nagisahave been there since season 1, I can't help but miss them..Grateful for anything but still, Gou,girl you deserved more time.

Fifth, glad Haru went to rehab, mental health is important and it makes sense. Haru loves water, not attention so all the ads and commercials Makoto states would overwhelm him. Plus, the abuse be did to his body just to get fast to compete with Albert.

Albert, 030 ilu. Glad you can swim free again.

Haru's parents! Like even Rin's mom is more relavent. Like Haru's parents not attending the Olympics,qualifiers tournament or hey, just a call. I know it is a part of writing for independency,but c'mon. We saw half Haru's mom's face in High Speed and mention of dad. Haru's grandmother obv played a big deal in Haru's love of water. Wish more of his family was included.

Hell, even Ikuya and Natsuya's mom bc ya know she footed that bilk when they were kids to get to America.

Makoto,my sweet Makoto. I wish there was more of him as well. Ik it is hard to manage a 13+ member cast in a 1 hour 45 movie while probably trying to close in loose ends.

Sousuke, you come far my man, I love him for it. Asahi as well. Ikuya has no chip on his shoulder and smiles.Hiyori and Kaede, eh. I don't hate them but they aren't my faves. Kisumi, truly an anchor. This movie pulled at my heart.

Free! It's my comfort anime, my first sport anime and probably the first anime I have seen since Honey and Clover centered with people in college. (well they emd in college)

i haven't watched the final stroke movies yet (decided to rewatch the entire series in chronological order before getting to fs, like all people with a normal level of investment in a show), but everythjng i know about it just makes me scared 😭 haru and albert have such a pleasant first meeting in dttf and i get the impression that entirely goes down the drain later

#also sidenote i find it quite funny how like. pronounced? all the english-speaking characters are in free #like it makes sense bc the show is not aimed at an english-speaking audience #but the very clear & enunciated way all the english-speaking characters speak mostly makes it sound like none of them are real people #my post #free!

Jimmy's hands flexed at his sides, trying to stop himself from reaching out and pulling Tango close. There was something about the moment that made Jimmy want to cuddle up against Tango's side and never move away again.He was startled from his attempt at stoping himself from doing something monumentally stupid when Tango touched his elbow and held out a bottle of beer to him.

今日はバレエ研修所公演。プロでない子の公演は見ないことにしてるけど中家くんがゲストなので。研修所も予科も同世代の中では選り抜きなんだろうけど…子供の発表会の写真見た時と同じ居た堪れなさを随所で感じたし、特に男の子は線が細くて自分の体をコントロールし切れてなくてハラハラする。上手いなと思った子はみんなゲストだった。中家くんのソロルは良かったので本公演でも是非。ガムザの子はイタフェも回れててあの時の渡辺さん（体調が悪かったって後から言われてもねぇ）よりずっと上手かったよ！ここでパダクシオンやるからdttfではできないのか…
