possible unpopular opinion: i’m like honestly sick of how much dttwt and dttiktok talk about heat waves, like i get it’s an “amazing” fic, but i’ve read it and it could honestly be any fic. 

like no hate to the author cause they honestly did a good job on it, but people have overhyped it and made it into a kind of meme which is exactly what the author didn’t want to happen. 

i honestly feel people talk about it so much because they want to read fanfic but don’t want to be seen as weird so if the entire fandom is talking about it then they of course “have to read it too” while they assure people that they’re not weird and don’t read fanfic.

y’all, just read fanfiction and avoid shipping fics if they make you uncomfortable like i do, it’s not that hard, and stop making the author uncomfortable and overhyping their simple fic about two streamers having a crush on each other.
