I mean this has actually happened more than once, but at least once I was presumed to be a straight girl who doesn’t understand nuanced queer humor because I thought the whole pretending Pennywise the clown who preys on children and kills gay men is some kind of a gay icon thing was super sketchy, particularly since he is already intended to represent oppressive power structures that prey upon victims and silence them.

I guess it’s very heterosexual to have basic reading comprehension and an understanding of how metaphors function.

dubcliq: I'm out here hoping it was 100% Landon bc the alternative would be gross...and I hate Handon lmao. Idk if they're trying to portray them as that ride or die, star crossed lovers, against all odds shit but all I'm seeing is how toxic they are for each other. (Hope is...physically toxic to him? I totally yelled when they say that bc whyyyy @ Legacies). Anyway despite being salty that the school actually Closed so everything can be about Landon, I was too hype to see Hope interact with the twins.

I honestly think that they’re trying to portray Hope and Landon as star crossed epic lovers, and the more they do that, the more I care less about them because what made them work isn’t because they had an epic love story. I also dispute Hope’s assertion she was born to end Malivore. (I don’t even care to spell correctly).

Malivore was okay with me when it was just a hellmouth but now that it’s a sentient mud monster I’m just all WHY THO. Can we get Hope away from this plot soon?

I like Monster of the Week, but I’d appreciate it if we have other Big Bads than Necromancer and Malivore. The Triad storyline was interesting and they dropped that, because Humans + Supernatural is really fascinating and it’s MG’s ‘legacy’.

I guess the production had to find a way to use covid restrictions without actually using that excuse so they closed the school. 

Honestly, I’m pretty surprised at how bad the writing’s gotten for season 3. TVD-verse’s writing isn’t exactly always great but at least there’s an effort to be internally consistent. Legacies s3 barely even tries.

(Is this because Julie Plec’s overall deal with Universal Television? Is she not overseeing Legacies anymore because she’s busy developing other shows to notice this show??).

 The over reliance on Prison worlds that used to take forever to create and enter, the sudden abundance of Bonnie’s blood (like, did they stick Bonnie in a blood machine??).

The world forgetting Hope again, and this time not even bothering to get her family to remember her???

Also, I know that Landon is Hope’s first true love but this is one of the days I wish Hayley is still alive or any of Hope’s aunt’s coming in to give Hope the talk Melissa McCall gave Scott. Be your own anchor. Your first love feels it’s epic and world ending, but they’re not going to be your only love.

Or, as the OC once said, there can be the One after the One, and the One after that.

When Hayley said something about stories about Epic Love. I don’t think she meant this, that her whole daughter’s life is only about one guy.

I like Landon but I liked him as a normal dude thrust into this crazy life, but now they’re showing him to be the Special of the Specialest even over and above the In-Universe Tribrid. And I’m not here for that.

“I know, right?” Kara was tempted to order some of that potent rum M’gann hid behind the bar, but she stuck to her club soda. She’d have a hard time explaining to Maggie why she could drink alcohol that was lethal to humans. Alex was going to tell Maggie the whole “super” secret soon, but that particular reveal Kara would leave up to her sister. “What do I do?”

Maggie bit her lip, staring at her over the table. They were waiting on Alex to join them at the bar, but Kara had to get the story off her chest, spilling it to Maggie like a nervous perp confessing before the interrogation even got started.

“Are you…” Maggie pursed her lips and leaned forward. “Do you like girls?” she asked gently.

“I…” That wasn’t where Kara thought this conversation was going to go. At all. “What does that have to do with anything?”

Maggie’s eyebrows arched at the evasion. “It’s just… you’ve either got one of the weirdest nights of your life on tap for tomorrow, or you have a golden opportunity.”

“Opportunity?” Kara asked. “To make a fool out of myself?” she joked.

Snorting, Maggie shook her head. “No, Kara, if you… if you like Cat... like that,” She paused, glancing around as if she were looking for Alex for help. “This is your chance to spend time with her outside the office. To go on a real date. Show her what she’s missing.”
