Soooooo my friend and I have been watching DuckTales together and we kinda got to rambling over the phone about it and we hit the idea of Scrooge getting a villain arc.

So the story would probably diverge a bit from the canon (but it's more fun that way!) in that we see Scrooge make questionable life choices and stuff, but then after the Spear Of Selene Thing, he just goes over the edge completely.

This is the design we came up with! (The eyeliner was my friend's idea and switching the red and black parts of the jacket was mine, and I drew the picture) Yes we gave him eyeliner because we've just decided amongst ourselves that Scrooge hoards All Of The Genders 😂

We still haven't quite worked out what the story will be, but I have a little bit written...

Few had met him. Fewer still had lived to tell the tale. But all in Duckburg knew his name, and had a rough idea of his long, twisted history. Having emigrated to America from Glasgow, he fought his way to the top with no remorse. He made his fortune through largely honest means. However, with his family - his grounding force - gone, he came to the realisation that he couldn't trust anyone. Not even the ones who were supposed to love him. He also realised that when you're the richest duck in the world, you can get away with pretty much anything you damn well please. And gradually, he tightened his grip on the city he called home - the city that had taken him in. He ruled with an iron fist from his mansion atop Killmotor Hill, silencing anyone who dared speak against him. Oh yes. Oppression, fear and greed had a name, and that name was Scrooge McDuck.

After losing Della, things started to go downhill. It got worse when it'd been three years and Donald still wasn't speaking to him. And then of course there was the small matter of his most loyal servant - his butler, Duckworth - passing away. And there was no-one there to help him through it. Everyone he cared about was gone. So he stopped caring.

MY AUS✨

Here's a list of all my aus + tiny explanations about them! Might make separate posts for all of them someday idk

1. Dad!Rex au

-Of course, the only au I've been public about so far. If you've seen my other posts about it, you already know what this is about, but if not, it's basically just a child (Theodore) crashing in Undar while Emmet/Rex's still there. Theo helps with trauma, Rex realizes he doesn't want anyone to go through what he went through and as a result, Rex adopts more children. Basically just wholesomeness yesyes

2. Dualistic Sides au (idk)

-In an alternate timeline, Emmet gets saved a year before he becomes Rex. He's still traumatized though, so he's basically just Emmet with PTSD and trust issues. After like, maybe a few months, this version of Emmet, who let's call.. Evan, starts to get really depressed and misses being his past self, so he decided the only logical thing to do is to travel back in time to before he crashed in Undar. But of course, our Rex also still has that idea, so now it's basically just an 'angel and devil on your shoulder' situation as both Rex and Evan try to guide Emmet in their own plans respectively. Evan genuinely wants to help, but Rex just wants to manipulate Emmet. (Edit: I just realized that this au is REALLY similar to @thinknamewhat 's Time Rivals au so credits to them! shddhhsh I did not mean to practically copy paste it with just a few tweaks sorry 😭)

3. Undar Explorer au

-Instead of being paralyzed, Emmet can still move in Undar. But with his ship still destroyed, he's forced to survive in Undar all on his own. And instead of Undar being a barren planet, there are just enough life forces that it becomes a challenge. Oh also, his friends eventually crash in Undar as well a few years later, for drama✨ (this au is basically just a copy paste of Della's situation in DuckTales and. yeah 🙂)

4. Switched Situations au (Idk either 😭)

-Instead of Emmet crashing in Undar, this time it's Mayhem, Lucy, Unikitty, Benny, Metalbeard and Batman who crashes. Emmet's the one who manages to get through the Stairgate, but when he doesn't find his friends in the Systar System, he accuses Watevra of kidnapping them, and in turn, Watevra accuses Emmet and the other Apocalypseburgers of kidnapping Mayhem. Angry and devastated, they end up starting a deadly war against each other. And the ones who got stuck in Undar time travel to the past to: stop themselves from crashing, stop Emmet from confronting Watevra, and most importantly, stop the war.

5. Criminal au

-Self explanatory, instead of being masterbuilders who fight for a righteous cause, the masterbuilders are actual criminals who do crime and end up accidentally dragging Emmet into everything (happens during the first movie).

6. Ghost!Emmet au

-After Emmet sacrifices himself in TLM, he doesn't come back to life. He does come back as a ghost though. ..Yeah that's all there is to it, really.

7. The Worst Timeline/Replacement au

-Basically another dead!Emmet but so much worse! So here, Lucy doesn't arrive on time and Rex ends up killing Emmet. Everybody (as in, even the citizens of Apocalypseburg and the Systar System) eventually arrives to see Emmet dead and Lucy in complete despair. Rex explains everything and then just.. fades away because. Emmet's fucking dead. And now everyone's in even more despair. A year passes, and nobody has fully moved on yet, until eventually, it all becomes too much and Lucy and her friends all agree to time travel to the past to kidnap past Emmet, from wayyyyy back before the Duplos invaded, but still after TLM. They essentially gaslight and manipulate Emmet into thinking this was his original timeline. And.. yeah.

8. Lost Memories au

-Emmet just loses his memories after crashing in Undar. ..Actually I'm pretty sure someone already made an au about this, but I'm not sure?? If someone knows if anyone made this au yet, please tell me and I'll remove it here.

9. Mother Knows Best au

-Doris, Emmet's mom, got worried over Emmet's lack of contact, since he always contacts her, even after moving away. She decides to visit Apocalypseburg, only to find Syspocalypstar, and a memorial statue of Emmet, much to her surprise. After she finds Lucy and the others and gets them to explain, she begs them to help her find him. So feeling guilty, they all agree. And.. they do end up finding Emmet. Doris gets angry at Emmet's friends, thinking that if they've just searched more and put more effort in trying to find him, then he wouldn't have to have been so traumatized. She prevents Emmet from seeing them and becomes really overprotective. E.

10. Kids au

-Again, self-explanatory, it's basically just a prequel to TLM and it's the main cast (except Watevra and Mayhem of course) as children. It's literally just an excuse to write fluffy and angsty backstories about them, actually :b

11. Keeper Of The Timelines au

-After Rex back-to-the-future's in the 2nd movie, he becomes some sort of keeper of timelines, having access to the past, present, and future, he kinda subtly tries to keep everything going smoothly. From Emmet meeting Lucy, to him becoming the Special, to him meeting Rex, etc. And even though he knows not to interfere with already existing timelines, he still ensures that no more Emmets get stuck in Undar, or have to go through the same fate as him. Not if he can help it.

We now return to our regularly unscheduled emergence from the void with a new hyper-fixation! Man, I forgot how much I like Sonic. I gotta get some more of the games on the switch, it's been ages.

Started with Sonic sketches, then had urge to draw some AU stuff, (prosthetics are somehow both harder and easier to draw than I thought??) and also Shadow, coz he was always my favourite! So cool and edgy! XD

I already have ideas for like 5 different AUs. But the one in my head right now is featured in the sketch above, wherein Sonic had triplets but right after they were born, his last battle with Eggman caused him to end up lost in space for ten years. Both he and Eggman are presumed dead during this time so the kids are raised by Sonic's friends, while Sonic himself ends up on this epic space adventure desperately trying to get home. (Was inspired by Della Duck from the 2017 Ducktales)

Gonna get some designs done for the kids hopefully soon. Oh, yeah these are Sonic and Shadow's kids (I believe Sonadow is the ship name?). Although neither the kids nor anyone else actually knows that part yet. There be dramas and unresolved emotional tension ahoy!!

SIDE 1D: ROUND 1: Alex Mercer (Prototype)/Desmond Miles (Assassin’s Creed) VS Gandra Dee (Ducktales 2017)/Winter Schnee (RWBY)

Propaganda for Alex Mercer/Desmond Miles:

Desmond is pretty much my blorbo of all time but he’s also the poster child for learned helplessness fr. dude will subject himself to literally going insane because he was told to (yeah yeah saving the world. shut up he deserves to be happy). He’s also high-key the chosen one of all of human history and the only thing it gets him is kidnapped, crazy, and dead. So he dies to save the world, a million angels weeping etc. Meanwhile Alex is literally a supervirus cosplaying as a guy and had low/no empathy even when he was human. (He also tries to take over the world in game 2 but he’s allowed to as a treat). So obvi parallels with the great power great responsibility and being tortured for science reasons But they handle it very differently. Alex eats people, takes over all of manhattan and slamdunks a nuke into Long Island Sound. So yeah character Foils and I think Des deserves someone who treats him as top priority instead of the Greater Good and that Alex is that someone.

Propaganda for Gandra Dee/Winter Schnee:

Yet another DTLS ship (holy fuck I put three of them on this side of the bracket, I am SO SORRY, that was an accident), but this time it's GIRLIES. Anyway so I wanted to bring Gandra into the AU, but in canon she ends up with Fenton. Which, obviously, could not happen as he is in a relationship with his then-boyfriend, now-fiancé with a kid

So we were like 'Well, we have a perfectly good lesbian in the form of Winter to ship her with' and there we were~! I can only write for Gandra's side of things, but she was currently still dealing with some old feelings about Fenton, mainly being happy for him that he found someone good for him while she ended up getting tangled up in FOWL's schemes (in this AU she doesn't switch sides until FOWL is already gone), but she bites and bullet and decides that there's no sense in living in the past and lamenting the one who got away. Not when there's a perfectly nice woman so interested in her, she ends up short-circuiting the first time she sees Gandra and quickly has to leave.

Also it's cute because she ends up befriending/staying with Clover and Fenton due to a lack of housing, so she's also still buddies with both her ex and her ex's boyfriend, aka someone very near and dear to Winter (one might even say a brother :) ). Their relationship still has places to go and blossom, but they're really cute together.

Toon variation: Considering cartoons breaking the fourth wall has always been a thing, I do not feel the need to tag posts set in the more Roger Rabbit type scenario. I will simply switch between or to this one from main verse when it seems appropriate for shenanigans/other muses.

V: Some Things Never Change A verse set further into the future, after Ducktales, and after tiny Webby grows into a much taller lady. May range from older teen to young adult in age.

Time has passed, the young duckling remained at the McDuck mansion even after the nephews returned to live with Donald, and she has grown into a young lady under the guidance of her grandmother and Scrooge McDuck, the drake she began to view as a father more than an uncle. Although she has kept her peaceful and kind nature (and her love of pink and bows), she is no longer a naive young child. She is also much larger, taking after her grandmother. Her strength has increased too, among other skills taught by or picked up from her various friends-who-are-practically-family. She can still throw things with excellent aim, and she can fight now, should the need arise, as well as carry around many of those who once carried her. Webbigail is still helpful around the mansion, often taking over the cooking department for meals, and helpful to various others in Duckburg too. She is still as adventurous as ever, only now she is rarely in need of rescuing.

V: Shooting Star Young adult Futuristic/Duck Dodgers based AU.

Quite similar to the previous verses’ backgrounds only, well, futuristic! And once old enough, she became part of Earth’s Galactic Protectorate. She does not have military background, leaving her unable to obtain high ranking, but she is alright with that; she normally prefers and works well with others. Web knows she learned more than enough to keep herself and companions alive from the famous Scrooge McDuck while growing up to bother attending classes on the subject, or tactical warfare, which she would rather not be involved in anyway. Webby specializes in exploration (due to experience of traveling since childhood) and diplomacy (due to her observant/gentle ability for negotiation). However, both can lead to or include the occasional use of force, and she is equally prepared for those instances too.

Why did Scrooge join Starfleet

Mainly because when he was out first exploring the world, and mainly in the Klondike, he would stargaze and realized he wanted to be up there, exploring those stars.

Or, as I put as a Scrooge quote in my first post for the AU:

“The Klondike is where I first fell in love with the stars. And now this Klondike, she takes me to them. It’s a dream come true.”

The more I hammer out details, the more this AU focuses on that explorer side of Scrooge (which also draws on the parallels to Picard with the love for adventure, history, archaeology, etc., and yes, treasure). There's so many planets out there to discover and explore, and well, what better way to do so than by joining the Fleet? And what better way to come full circle than to name your first commission as captain after the place that inspired you?

Basically, the Klondike's night sky is Scrooge's gold nugget in this AU.

#Astro answers #DuckTales #Star Trek AU #see I can give somewhat direct answers :P #but actually I'm gonna ramble in the tags here for a sec #I was considering a little having Scrooge initially pursue mining before switching his mind (ha) to Starfleet #at first he'd have been mining on Earth to find real minerals (as opposed to replicated ones) #and then he'd move onto asteroid mining #not actually going with that because it doesn't fit this AU (although maybe his grandfather did some asteroid mining??) #but I wanted to mention it bc the asteroid mining part is actually another AU I had in the back of my mind - a scroldie AU #I read a real article a while ago about mining for gold on asteroids and all I could think for that was 'space Klondike scroldie AU' #and then with DuckTales having gold on the moon ideas were happening but I don't think I wrote them down #but anyway I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna do anything with that one so at the very least I'll mention it here
