Heads up! The user barbex is a proshipper (supports romanticizing abuse in fiction).
Hi! So, I apologize for my delay in responding to your message - I have had a lot of thoughts and wanted to make sure l was expressing them in the best way possible.
I want to be honest, when I first read your message, I didn’t know what pro-shipping was, but I do know @barbex --I've been following her for the better part of a decade and she is an excellent author and l enjoy her views on the Dragon Age lore (and her views on Anders). I've also done more than a few of the prompt months that she's put together.
With all of that said, I wanted to better understand your viewpoint and see what it is that is defined as part of your block list. So, I hopped on your blog! I found your blocklist and the items you've listed as egregious enough to report users and as a former Literature Major, it saddened me to see such Puritanical and Orwellian views being broadcast with such vitriol.
The first thing I want to address is that in my fifteen plus years in fandom I have always subscribed to the “Don’t Like, Don’t Read" mentality. I am unafraid to block people on this website for a single take I don't agree with, and with that I am a FIRM supporter of accurate community labels as there are many things that I myself do not enjoy or want to read - so my blocked tags are plentiful and the blogs I block are many and that curated experience is why I do not get involved in any sort of fandom drama.
I implore you to do the same. Fandom can be such a wonderful, constructive experience when you surround yourself with like-minded individuals. A dear friend of mine reminded me of the phrase, ”No Good Fandom, Only Good Friends” and nothing could be more accurate. Your tiny corner of the Fandom is an amazing way to flourish socially and mentally; however when your energy instead is spent on searching for others with ideological differences the experience instead becomes a witch hunt full of dog piling and negativity.
Now, on your blog, I noticed that you bemoan that you are unable to have a conversation about Fandom/Purity Culture/Fanfiction and I feel like this is an important topic to discuss so l am going to indulge in this against my better judgement, and at the end if you don't like what I've said, l implore you to block me as well.
My primary issue with your block list is that it derives from anti-intellectualism and a puritanical view of fandom. Which, if that is how you want to experience fandom, that's fine, but publicizing it is beyond ridiculous and leads back to my earlier point about witch hunts and dog piling.
Based on your list, your primary concerns in your block list stem from the following topics: rape, incest, pedophilia- including predatory age gaps and abuse. And I wonder; do you devalue fiction in the same way?
The first thing on your list that caught my attention was your adamant disapproval of the Thanatos/Zagreus ship in Hades. Is this just a general distaste for all Greek/Roman mythology as all of it could meet your block list above? Does Disney's Hercules get a pass due to the inaccuracies in the retelling — does the Hera/Zeus relationship get a pass because it isn't explicitly mentioned? And does it matter that it is a more inaccurate retelling of the myth?
In that same vein; are stories like Jane Eyre (which contains both a predatory age gap and a horrific example of a mentally ill character) or Wuthering Heights (which contains incest and abuse) not worth telling to a modern audience because they show these things? Are we forgoing media literacy and critical thinking now because these things glorify the worst parts of humanity?
And regardless of if it is a piece of classic literature or a piece of modern fanfiction making the decision for others that they cannot read these things due to them being "bad” or "wrong" or "shameful" is no different than banning books. And you devalue the readership of these pieces of literature by saying that they are unable to critically think for themselves and find the value of an individual piece of fiction.
I emphasize again, YOU as an individual do not have to view or interact with this material if it makes you uncomfortable, but I beg you not to police others in an Orwellian fashion over the media they choose to produce or view. Use the block button and blacklist tags you don't like or make you uncomfortable - that is what they are there for. Instead, talk to people who share your views but do not turn this into a witch hunt or an NC-17 purge that we've seen so damaging to our communities in the past.
All of this is to say; find joy Fandom — whatever that may mean for you and let others do the same.
I hope this was informative.
- Ryder

tbh as someone with an english degree it is utterly unsurprising to me that the young antis who are perpetuating the purity culture stuff are struggling to engage critically with works of fiction. i just saw the point made that young antis are parroting the same rhetoric as book- banning conservatives who say “think of the children” and like... of course they are. and i would argue that that is the point
english literature as a subject is CHRONICALLY undervalued throughout the school system. just as the humanities are deprioritized and underfunded compared to STEM on the university level, literature and literary analysis are widely perceived as boring throughout all grade levels, such that english was often many people’s least favorite subject in school and people do not often go on to study it in higher education
at the university level english / literature / humanities departments are shrinking, consolidating into other departments, and facing terrible rates of low enrollment and lack of interest. types of writing that serve a Purpose that can be commodified (legal writing, business writing, communications) are prioritized over purely literature courses that require literary analysis. (to be clear i’m not placing less value on practical writing, simply saying its purpose and intent and the skills used in it are different)
so it is no wonder to me that young people are not grasping differences between fiction and reality, that they equate fictional characters’ choices with real life morality, that critical thinking is suffering. this is something youth are not being taught sufficiently and in the end, it is likely part of the same anti-intellectualism agenda that demonizes education and independent thought due to fear, so that people ultimately become easier to manipulate

No update today as I'm still working on the script for this chapter and have some IRL obligations this weekend. In the meantime, quick ask response below the cut!
Tumblr media
I've had a couple of thoughts on this subject but nothing super concrete, so here you go! Also -- I'm always excited to talk about worldbuilding, so no need to apologize!
Back when Andrew was a child and the ancient spirits were newly-locked-away, precautions for blood moons (and other dangerous events) were a lot more intense. Main reason being that people still remembered the preceeding years where such fortifications were absolutely necessary, and since the memories were still fresh and the infrastructure/protocol still in place, it still got used. Living out on the edge of the plains, they would likely have had plans in place to get underground quickly and then sweep the town the next morning for any remaining monsters.
Chris, in comparison, is from a modern coastal town. The main precautionary system there is a bell system that alerts people when a blood moon begins rising to give them even a small amount of notice to prepare, and fishing is strictly banned. His hometown also has walls around the main land-facing portion with a local guard stationed along them, helping keep out monsters from entering on foot. This helps ensure people can get inside, block their doors, and safely hunker down for the night. All of this is organized by the local Guide and helps to keep folks safe.
Purity Town, and the region the town (and other settlements) is in, has fewer precautions in place due to the relatively low population. Chris' hometown can get away with heavy infrastructure because it has the population to support it, and Andrew's hometown did it out of fear/necessity. In Purity Town's region, people like Malik might run around near the start of a blood moon to make sure everyone is able to get inside safely, cover their windows, and so on. It's also generally accepted that people who go out late at night should have a plan for what to do if a blood moon suddenly begins, because the region is just too remote to go out looking for them.
As for frequency, I'm inclined to say somewhere between monthly and every few months -- quite irregular, but happening often enough that it's not uncommon.

cao'an (thatched hermitage) and its manichaean remnants in jinjiang, fujian, china. though cao'an is on its surface not too different from other buddist temples, it was also manichaean, and may still be manichaean in secret. it's also one of the last standing historical manichaean places of worship in the world. this place has quite the history, so i placed it under a read more:
manichaeism is a former world religion of babylonian origin, reaching as far west as the roman empire and as far east as han china at its greatest extent. it combines elements of several other prominent religions and philosophies - the most notable factor of this is that it reveres founder mani as the final prophet in a line consisting of zoroaster, the gautama buddha, and jesus christ. it went mostly extinct due to persecution of followers throughout its multi-continent laity. manichaean places of worship were either entirely destroyed or appropriated in other parts of the world. it lasted much longer in china (until ming dynasty times) and still exists in some parts of fujian and zhejiang. these believers prefer to remain private about their current practice. what outsiders know about the religion is solely through historical records; because of its comparative longevity in china, many of those records come from there.
manichaeans tended to draw more from the religious/philosophical influences on manichaeism that were most familiar to them. (for example, while manichaeism in jerusalem may have looked more abrahamic, manichaeism in istakhr may have looked more zoroastrian.) in china, manichaeism assimilated to both buddhism and taoism; in the former case, much of it was adapted to be stylistically buddhist, and mani received the title of "buddha of light" and a life story resembling the gautama buddha's.
cao'an was constructed during the song dynasty era (specifically in the 960s), when persecution against manichaeans had been ongoing from emperor wuzong of tang's suppression of all foreign religions. (the same policies had affected zoroastrians, eastern syriac christians, and buddhists, but continued for manichaeans after.) at this time, many manichaean temples had buddhist or taoist affiliations, or disguised themselves as buddhist or taoist only. it became officially buddhist after manichaeism was banned in 1368. since abandoned, it was revived for explicit buddhist usage for a short period in the early 20th century. it's preserved as a cultural monument today.
cao'an has managed to preserve remnants of its manichaean affiliations. one is that, instead of a nianfo phrase usually seen in chinese buddhist temples, an inscription on a nearby stone dating to the 15th century reminded worshippers of "purity, light, power, and wisdom". this mantra is an adaption of manichaean cosmology in chinese manichaeism. the original stone was destroyed during the cultural revolution but the phrase was re-inscribed on another after. another is a statue that seems to portray the buddha, but is thought to actually portray mani. unlike other portrayals of the buddha, this one has long, straight hair which is worn down, different facial features and hand/head postures, and, at one point, facial hair. (this was filed off in the early 20th century by a buddhist monk to make him look more like the buddha.) it's also consistent with other portrayals of mani in chinese manichaean art.

Context for the sexual culture of Victorians, and why it's dangerous to oversimplify it
Acting like Victorian’s sexual culture is just ‘repressed’ is to remove all nuance from the subject. To show what I mean, I think it’s important to look at the reasons we may be seen as prudish right now:
The rates of highschoolers having sex has been on a decline since the 90s (down 15%)
The number of explicit movies shown in theater is on a decline
Social-distancing has caused people to be less comfortable with physical contact, even post lockdown.
There’s been a lot of anxiety that Gen Z and Millennials are too prudish, but this fails to consider the nuances of these facts:
The decrease in sex among teens has more to do with an increase in entertainment available for teens, as well as a decrease in virgin-shaming, due to higher awareness of asexuality and consent, as well as growing anxiety about sexual expectations.
The decrease in explicit movies in theaters is mostly due to the popularity of streaming services, seen in shows like Bridgerton, etc.
People have been connecting non-physically via the internet, so in even though being physically with other people is more difficult, people are still connecting
It’s not that there hasn’t been a rise in sexual-repression per se, but boiling things down to “kids aren’t having sex these days” is a massive generalization that isn’t helping anyone. And viewing Victorian sexuality as this caricature or prudishness isn’t going to give any insight to the actual problems underlying their perception of sex.
This is part of my issue with a lot of historical fiction about the 1800s, they want to give commentary on purity-culture and sexuality, but they can’t conceptualize it beyond a surface level idea of “sex feels good” so it ends up feeling like poorly written smut catered purely to the male-gaze, which they claim is somehow feminist. The sexual repression of women in this time was more complicated than that, the leading factors were:
A female monarch in a committed and intensely passionate marriage after five male rulers, notorious for debauchery
A rise in the Evangelical Protestant Subsect
Better rights for single women as opposed to married women
A Rising number of STD’s, particularly syphilis
A lack of custody rights for mothers
Both a rise in and banning of sexually explicit fiction
Women's Suffrage
The trial of Oscar Wilde
Most of the rumors you hear about the time period, like the idea that tablecloths were a matter of propriety, or that female orgasms were a medical treatment, are untrue. Marriage books from the time claimed that conception was more likely if both partners climaxed. And self-pleasuring was frowned upon regardless of gender.
Although Puritanical expectations were a factor in the sexual repression of women, I would argue that women's sexual repression was mostly due to a lack of contraceptive, STD protection, and human rights.
To be clear this isn’t to say that puritanical culture wasn’t a factor, but it was one of many, and the idea that no women has enjoyed sex is often used to frame sexual pleasure as a privilege that modern women should feel indebted to men for having, and it’s not. Don’t feed into the idea that social progression is purely linear, especially when it’s used as an excuse to silence the marginalized.

We're back!
Hell yeah, welcome to the fourth year of the Regulus Black Fest!
2023 Schedule:
Prompting: February 12th - 24th Publishing of prompt list: March 1st or earlier Claiming: March 3rd - May 1st Works due: May 14th Posting starts: 20th of May
We have slightly updated our rules & requirements, please check them out here: Desktop | Mobile | AO3
A note from the mods due to recent-ish developments in parts of this fandom - please read this carefully.
As you may see when you check out the rules, we have added the following section:
This fest operates firmly under the premises of ‘don’t like; don’t read,’ ‘ship and let ship’ and ‘your kink is not my kink but that’s okay’ (if you’re unfamiliar with these concepts, see this post). We will not tolerate any shaming, harassment, or attempts to police content, and if you are found to participate in such behaviour, you will be banned from the fest permanently.
We feel strongly about this; the push in fandom spaces towards purity culture and censorship is worrying, if not downright dangerous for queer and otherwise marginalized people.
The Regulus Fest is supposed to be a safe space for artist and writers, one free of policing attempts and censorship; to us, this was always an implied stance since we started this fest back in 2020.
As things stand, though, we feel the need to make this explicit once more: this fest welcomes any and all content, regardless of rating or warnings. We believe in creators providing content warnings in accordance with AO3's rules and requirements, as well as in people's ability to curate their own fandom experience. If you fail to do so, if you fail to understand that fiction does not equal reality, if you engage in public shaming and/or harassment of people due to whatever content they consume or create (yes, even that kind of content), then this is not the fest for you!
After taking feedback into account, we considered making this fest 18+, but have ultimately decided against it. Concerning opinions on censorship are, unfortunately, not dependant on age, and it feels unfair to exclude people from something like a fandom-wide event due to the actions of a small but loud crowd. That said, going forward the Discord server for participants will be 18+ only.
There is certainly more to be said on this topic, but we hope this makes our stance clear for now.
All this aside, we're looking forward to another great fest, and as always, if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach out to us!
xx

I was reading some Chinese texts and stories, and I have seen that while the immortals have their magic, they despise sorcery. Why is sorcery seen as negative by immortals and why are they different? (like, I think it's mentioned that Shen Gongbao relied more on sorcery even thought he has an immortal teacher)
I'm afraid I don't quite understand the English difference of how 'sorcery' and 'magic' are different things let alone how the translator from what you read translated the original characters. I have never seen any king of cultivation in Daoism being translated as 'sorcery' so I can't say what really say what the original characters could be talking about. It could be talking about 巫术 which I think sometimes include blood rituals but never seen in stories as something ‘bad’ or even acknowledged in Daoist stories. If anything, I think they were more regarded as doctors with unusual methods and fairly good with technology. But I really only seen it to describe Western wizards/witches the most so I cannot say how mush it is used in Daoist stories.
As far as I have been aware Shen Gongbao uses cultivation just as any other immortal and I do not think that he has ever killed/taken his cultivation from any other living creature. That is the only thing I can assume would be 'bad' as it is feeding off another's life force or perhaps even just meaning 'using cultivation for trouble.' I recall that most of his 'evil' deeds come more from Shen Gongbao's ability to manipulate people are his words and being a vengeful man rather than anything dark with his cultivation.
The best guess I can give you is that Shen Gongbao in your translation is the bad guy of the narrative and thus the term 'sorcery' has negative implications in Western term and that is why it is used. Similar to how 'fairy' is used for 仙 when 'immortal' is more proper but this chance depends on whether the immortal is a woman or not.
You can take a read yourself but I think it is just a translation preference.
"Taoism branched from witchcraft. During the Jin and Tang dynasties, due to the participation and compilation of literati and the absorption of a large number of Buddhist scriptures and theories, the original religious form of witchcraft and Taoism became theorized, and Taoism developed a large distance from witchcraft. Taoism has since risen to the level of the upper ruling class, while shamanism has continued to flow among the people. Since the ruling class in history banned witchcraft and " obscene sacrifices" from an orthodox position, the survival of witchcraft has become very difficult. Therefore, witchcraft began to seek survival and a way out. First of all, it was to get closer to Taoism. So that the people also agree that they belong to Taoism. As this development continued, witchcraft and Taoism gradually merged, forming a form of shamanism consisting of both witchcraft and Taoism, and the "two gates of Taoism and Law", namely internal witchcraft and external Taoism.
First of all, shamanism must identify Taishang Laojun , the ancestor god of Taoism , as its leader to confirm that shamanism also belongs to "Laojun's religion" or "Laojun's sect". So based on the legend of Laozi , I compiled the origin of Taishang Laojun, thinking that witchcraft became the original version of Taoism. In addition to moving Taishang Laojun, Zhang Tianshi , Sanqing , Sanyuan, Sanguan, Wuyue , Sidu , Xuantian God and many Taoist gods were also moved into the witch altar, and they were named "Taishang Wuling Laojun" Or "The Supreme Three-Yuan Heart Zhengfa", "The Supreme Five Thunder Purple Micro Thunder Court" and other titles were listed on it, and they absorbed a large number of Taoist scriptures such as "The Supreme Sutra of Changing Purity", "The Supreme Xuantian Miao Sutra", "Tai Shang Zi Wei Treasure Repentance", "Tai Shang Laojun Xing Treasure Repentance", "Three Officials Sutra", "The Three Officials of Heaven, Earth and Water to Eliminate Disasters and Sinless Confessions", "Eleven Days", "South Dou Sutra", The Beidou Sutra and other sutras and confessions are enriched in the witchcraft and Taoist altar with Taoist rituals.

not to be old man yells at cloud but banning porn on tumblr really was the root of like 30% of all fandom evil huh.
without the porn ban there wouldn't have been the mass migration to twitter which just recycled on tumblr discourse to infinity for years, while somehow having less nuance due to the character limit, while also having even more polarization, and the extra damning little character trait of getting to interact with actual creators and participants in the object of fanon obsession. not to mention the accelerated rise of weird purity culture and christian weirdness in a little gay hat.
it all comes back to tumblr deciding to ban porn to comply with the apple store.

Ahhhhh here’s something I’ve been thinking about sharing but I got so nervous how fans and antis may take this 🥲🥲🥲
Yeah so, I wasn’t too keen on Adam at first since the idea of him being the leader of arch angels and he looks too similar to Blitzo… But after doing a lot of roleplays with a friend of mine (WHO REALLY IS GOOD AT WRITING ADAM. LIKE KEEPING HIM HOW VIV WANTED BUT STILL MAKE HIM KIND OF CREEPY ) So Adam is a character I’m actually fascinated by. Mainly because he sounds so cringe that I wanna shit on him in my stories XD
Though, I also want to write him as an intimidating villain too.
While me and said friend we talked about our headcanons for Heaven and how Adam was originally a sinner… I feel like that was Viv’s vision. I think he looks more like a demon and does vulgar language is because he’s a sinner who faked his redemption to get the easy way out.
But tbh it works perfect! Since I kind of originally planned for Lucy to have a horrible experience with some angelic priest… but I scrapped it since I wasn’t sure how that work, but since Vivziepop made Adam.. it somehow made me wanna go back to that idea using him.
Basically he acts like a dudebro chud with entitlement and thinks he can do whatever because he’s the “first man of God” which gave him a superiority complex. And he acts like a massive creep to Lucy, so a villainous crush trope.
After his two failed relationships with Lilith and Eve, who are promincuous and defiant in his eyes… He was drawn to Lucy due to her kind, Caring, and humble nature. How she’s a guardian Angel who happens to cook, clean, and is very good with children. To him, that is his ideal woman. A submissive tradwife that can never ever question him and is a doormat for him to take advantage of. But unlucky for him, she never had interest in him and always calls his shit out and rejects his advances.
But in a serious note, I actually want to take what Viv was gonna do for Stolas and blitzo (before Romanticizing them), that she got into a coercion relationship as well as SA.
So trigger warning, he once found out about her dirty little secret (like finding her erotica novels she enjoys reading, Lucy is Aegosexual so she only enjoys that in fiction) and decided it’s the perfect blackmailing. He found these books of hers and threatens to tell all the arch angels about her sinful books to get herself banned.
Now in order from her to behave and comply, he basically wanted her to be his girlfriend in return. And as much as she hates him and doesn’t want to… she never wanted to get banned.. Sure, she agreed and is stuck in a very co dependent relationship with him.
I’m not gonna make him super one dimensional, part of me wants to have him actually act like a narcissist. One who always sweetens her up anytime he makes her feel bad. Or makes everyone believe he’s a caring boyfriend to her. But behind closed doors, he’s terrible.
I’ve been a bit nervous to post this… I know things like this are heavy subjects but from personal experiences, I’m gonna try my best to portray a topic with care. This isn’t gonna be the actual oc x canon ship for Lucy, I actually plan to ship her work another canon character that she actually genuinely loves and feels safe with.
Also, I chose to write this because this is sadly a common thing with Christianity, the toxicity of purity culture and how it affects women and how a lot of disgusting so called preachers say sexist shit. (I watched God is Grey talking about one of them which inspired me ) but I also wanna show the good side of Christianity with someone like Lucy.
I don’t wanna treat this black and white, I genuinely wanna world build the Heaven side of the heaven since I love angelogy and I wish we got that in the show.
Oh and that Angel in the background on the first sketch, that’s a friend’s oc. He’s massively protective over Lucy like a little sister and doesn’t trust Adam.

Paring: Vampire Kylo/Hunter Rey
Warnings: Dark Themes (apporaching Dead Dove, you have been warned), Supernatural/Paranormal, Blood, Violence, Gore, Death, NSFW 18+, Sexual Content, Psychological and Physical Torture, Kidnapping, Hatred towards organized religion, Pain, Major/Minor character death/injury, Demonic Possession
Chapter Fifteen
Rey doesn’t know how but three weeks pass by quickly. She eats, sleeps and breathes the investigation like the other Hunters. The patrols have increased by double, investigating all potential leads. She had been back to AXS more then she had cared for and due to Bronte’s rudeness last week they were now banned.
She remembers glowering at Baal’s smug grin as his Nagas kicked them out that night. He simply chuckled when Bronte threw insults and curses at him, but he ignored him and looked to her. His mouth widened more as he took her in. “Good, very good” he says ominously as he turns and walks back inside.
Little to say Windu was not pleased. They had gotten an earful about how their behavior that night was damaging to their alliances with the Supernatural community. The vein pulsed in his forehead along with his irritated energy when he told them to get out of his sight.
She understood the stress he was under. She has heard what the media was saying about The Order. How they cannot protect Supernaturals. There is even some rumblings in more obscure circles that they are the reason for it all. That they are focused on bringing back a time of blood purity or some other nonsense like that.
Rey rubs her eyes as she submits her latest report. Another eight hour patrol with no new leads and no new answers. She takes a drink of her lukewarm tea as her phone buzzes.
She looks down to see texts from Jessica and Kylo. Kylo. Her heart clinched painfully at the memory of his interrogation. She will never forgive herself for letting Bronte and Hawthorn grill him with questions. He answered them all honestly, all the while never taking his eyes off her.
There was no way he was involved, especially since Vicrul Hemming was the one who asked him to get involved and was vetted and approved by The Council. He was quickly cleared as a suspect but the damage was done. Rey saw how people averted him in the hallways now. Worse still, he was removed from the field team and placed in a supportive role.
Rey feels a sudden wave of guilt. She should’ve done something. She knew his magick and clearly knew he was not damned. She looks down at his text message at a loss. She decides to respond to Jessica first, confirming a coffee date tomorrow. Her phone buzzes again.
His new text was brief but it felt like a punch in the gut. I know you are avoiding me and I don’t blame you for it. I would too if I were in your position. I am still here though if you want to resume. Best Kylo. She puts her phone down and covers her face with her hands. Why did it hurt to be away from him? She felt so at peace in his arms not so long ago.
She feels her magick tingle as she shakes off a shiver. It wants him, she thinks. Her magick is craving to be near him again and to feel whole. “Fuck it” she mutters, grabbing her phone. Her fingers fly over the screen sending him a message.
Kylo, I am so sorry for making you feel that way. I would like to continue. When are you free? Her thumb hovers for a moment before hitting send. She takes a breath and takes a peak inside at her magick. She smiles as the tendrils dance happily.
---
Kylo turns and shuts the door behind him. He hears Trudgen’s low rumble and the clicking of computer keys. “Hey Ren” Vicrul says, scooting out a chair for him. He turns and sees Vicrul and Trudgen sitting there, waiting on him.
Trudgen side eyed him as he takes a seat. “I have some stuff you will be interested to see” he says as he turns the computer towards him. He quickly reads through the first document, his brow crinkling in displeasure. “Yeah, I’m not happy about it either Kylo” Trudgen says.
Kylo looks away, his anger simmering in his veins. Of course The Order would drop a statement regarding him and the investigation. It was worded very vague and very politically correct but it said what it needed to. He was called out and officially a pariah now.
“You know this doesn’t mean shit to me” Vicrul says “I talked to The Council and they aren’t removing your credentials. Are you still in this with me brother?” Kylo looks up into Vicrul’s tired eyes. “'Til the end” he says, nodding. Vicrul smirks and waves his hand, magicking them three ceramic cups full of rich smelling coffee. “Show off” Trudgen mutters, taking a cup.
Kylo chuckles as he takes a cup, turning it in his hands. “By the way she finally responded” he says as he takes a sip. Both men looked up at him. “See I told you Kylo, she just needed time” Vicrul says. He smiles softly, thankful for his brothers’ understanding of his situation.
“She’s a intuitive one. Very smart on her feet. She will be one to reckon with once she has full control of her powers” Trudgen says as he clicks into The Order’s encrypted security mainframe. He sits up straighter and finishes his cup, forcing himself not to react to that fantasy. “So what have you found?” he asked. Trudgen turns the computer more to the left so the screen is visible to the three of them.
“He’s up to something” Trudgen mumbles as the watch the security cameras from the Infirmary. Kylo watches Trudgen fast forward, the medical staff and patients quickly moving back and forth through the space as the time passed. He stops and lets it play. “Now watch.”
The camera facing Poe’s side begins to flicker and freezes just a bit before returning to normal. Kylo focuses his eyes on the blurry screen. Poe’s bed is empty. The camera records for a while before it flickers again and then goes black. When the picture resumes, Poe is in his room taking off a black coat. They watch him look side to side then slide back into bed placing the C-collar back on.
Trudgen fast forwards through the next couple days showing Poe disappearing and reappearing at random times always with his phone and cigarette. They watched him talk with Bronte a lot and cause trouble on the ward. He would wave his hand and make monitors and other medical equipment alarm and spark. He smiles wickedly as the staff respond frantically.
They stop during another random evening to watch Poe reappear talking aggressively on the phone. He paced and paced, his free hand clinched at his side. They watched as he got off the phone, yelling in apparent frustration. His tantrum made the camera flicker violently before going black.
“That son of a bitch” Vicrul says crossing his arms “you were right Kylo.” Kylo sits back and sighs. “So now we know he is a Demon but question is what is he up to and how do find out?” Vicrul asks Trudgen.
Trudgen smirks as he clicks open a document. “I may be able to help with that. So due to the lovely outdated system The Order uses, it saves drafts of reports when you take too much time in between typing. It clogs up their mainframe and IT has to trash them periodically. But lucky for us…” he says motioning to the screen.
Both men look at the two documents on the screen time stamped half hour apart. Kylo’s eyes widen at the differences between them. “He is involved. Why would he falsify a document like this for any other reason?” he says. “A good question indeed Ren, but we need hard evidence before we can bring it to Windu” Trudgen says rubbing his hand through his short hair.
Kylo rubs his jaw at a loss. It’s obvious to him Poe is working for the Devil's Guard. They have to do this carefully not to tip him off. Influencing is out of the question since he seems to do it regularly as is any use of force.
He hears Vicrul growling lowly next to him. He looks over to see his eyes glowing gold and his incisors sharpening as he grits his teeth. “This asshole knows where my son is and I can’t fucking do anything about it” he spits out.
“Calm yourself Vic we will make him pay” Trudgen says, clicking into another program. “I uploaded a high grade encrypted tracking system into the Hunters’ phone system. It’s untraceable and by using this program we can see where they all are at all times.”
Kylo watches the screen light up with red dots across the map. Majority were located at Headquarters but some are spread out throughout the city and surrounding counties. “I pinned Dameron so it will notify us of any movement. Hopefully he will inadvertently lead us to them” Trudgen says. “Can you add Rey to that list?” Kylo says without thinking. Both men look at him surprised. Shit. “You know just in case…” he says, looking away.
He doesn’t see the look Vicrul and Trudgen share as Trudgen clicks the mouse a couple times. “Sure Ren. Why not?” he says, chuckling lowly. Kylo doesn’t know why he feels he needs to do this but his gut is telling him Rey is in danger. He has seen how Poe has looked at her and the last thing he wants is her alone with him.
He hears his phone vibrate in his pocket. He pulls it out and smiles. “Lemme guess?” Vicrul says next to him. “Fuck off” he replies with no malice. All three men chuckle and resume looking into documents, working towards building a solid case against Dameron and for clues to where the Guard’s headquarters is before something else happens.

Yo the Fortnite Donnie was made by a tcester, I have the tag blocked and the tag is on it, just fyi
Ah, it wasn't when I reblogged it some someone else.. and Fairly, long as they tag their crap properly where I don't have to see THAT (the incest) kinda stuff, I don't really care... like.. There's not even anything incestuous about this art?? So part of me wonders if they're just adding that tag to annoy people. Either way, it's good to know, but I see nothing wrong with the work in itself, so I don't see the need to tag it accordingly, if it does bug you, i'd suggest blocking their user name where you don't see it, or the user itself. May I add it... weird and obsessive ya going around to tell everyone this? Like are you okay? Did they slight you in some way? Do Need someone to go out with you to touch grass??? Now this may sound harsh but this next part isn't really aimed at you, but at people as a whole who follow me: Unless the creator is actively hurting/grooming someone, I don't care, I'm not the fandom police, and I am not gonna make my already sad depressed, and stressed-out life worse by trying to vet every bit of art I reblog, this isn't Twitter where purity culture can take hold, I'm 30, I know the difference of separating the art from the artist and how this bull crap has gone so far to infect our government in its rapid banning of books due to them being LGBT+ or.. know, not republican-religious-zealot approved. (Seriously they're now banning dictionaries)
That and like.. my mom is an English major and has a minor in creative writing she often talks to me about, so like.. unless you want to get utterly THRASHED. Check ya' self, I am not responsible for your content curation, I get annoyed as it is at work having to basically be everyone's mother cause they can't clean up after themselves.

I'm now building that paraphilia recovery server, and I want to shop around some ideas.
What will be there:
- ID verification. This is to keep minors out of the server.
- No channels for syskids or agere/agedre. Ageplay can be a useful kink for some to potentially engage with to redirect attractions but we do not want someone actually a child internally to be anywhere on the server due to the risk posed to them. Systems or regressors/dreamers who allow them onto the server will be warned or banned.
- No sharing of pornographic content, real or fictional. It doesn't matter the subject. This isn't the space for that and it may trigger someone else.
- No discourse or discourse channels. This is a recovery space.
- A notice that ship discourse must be left at the door, and that in this space fiction must be treated as a thing that can positively or negatively influence recovery for someone and it will not have the same impact on everyone.
- A notice that hornyposting on the server will get you in time-out as to not potentially trigger anyone else since that can influence your decision making and that is more dangerous in relation to paraphilias.
- Notice that recovery can look different for other people and what may work for one person may not work for others.
- Misuse of "purity culture" or "celibacy" will get you warned or muted.
- Channel for crisis resources and talking about how to find a good therapist.
- Channel on avoidance of a subject of attraction, since for some that may be needed.
- A disclaimer that if the owner of this server sees that the server is not actually encouraging a community focused on recovery, they may delete it at any time and that a peer support group is not a replacement for therapy.
- Any encouragement or rationalization of illegal actions or content is going to be swiftly reported to Discord who will then take it to relevant authorities.
Respond with ideas if you got them. The last two are extremely important to me.
Edit: This project is not continuing due to me not being the best person to make it. I'm sorry.

Magical Theory (Pt 2 out of ?)
Another section of my ever-growing headcanon on magic.
---
Magic is split into three different categories: Light, Dark, and Regular
Light Magic is the most powerful form of magic on this list. It is used to cleanse and protect the soul, and consists of protection charms that can only be used against creatures of pure darkness, like the Patronus charm does with dementors, and some types of magic related to removing jinxes, hexes, and curses. This form of magic is extremely difficult to use as many spells require purity of the user and extremely delicate rituals (not unlike its dark counter-part). Unlike Dark Magic, however, Light Magic requires an intent desire to create joy, purity, and safety. Most Light Magic users are hardly ever spoken of anymore, as this type of magic is pretty much extinct except for a couple of spells, though many healers use magic that borders on being considered ‘Light’. According to legend, unicorns were the original users of light magic and passed on their magical knowledge to wizards of old (this has never been confirmed as truth however).
Note: This also may be the type of magic used by Lily Potter to protect her son right before Voldemort murdered her, though not all magic involving love can be considered ‘Light’.
Dark Magic is technically an umbrella term that covers two types of magic: unpredictable, mysterious, often dangerous magic and Black Magic. The unpredictable, mysterious magic in the section refers to magic involving things like the mind, emotion, life, and time just to name a few – all that fickle stuff you can’t mess with without risking severe consequences (like, reality-warping or life-altering consequences). Due to the lack of knowledge surrounding these topics and how dangerous manipulating these with magic can be, the use of this type of magic is prohibited without the knowledge and oversight of the Ministry of Magic. Time magic has the most relaxed oversight, as issues created can generally be fixed easily with a Time-Turner, which is why Professor McGonagall was able to keep a Time-Turner on her person and allow Hermione to use it (after some training, of course).
Black Magic is the most dangerous form of magic on this list. It is used specifically to inflict harm on others and unnaturally tamper with the soul. As stated by Adalbert Waffling, “Tamper with the deepest mysteries — the source of life, the essence of self — only if prepared for consequences of the most extreme and dangerous kind.” Each type of curse, potion, or what have you under this category has its own set of consequences, but they all corrupts its users – either just from the emotional and psychological toll of using it or through actually physically, mentally, of spiritually changing their being (which I'll talk about later).  This type of magic is strictly banned by the Ministry unless very specific circumstances arise (the most common being manhunts for dark wizards or war).
Regular magic is the daily stuff everyone can readily use – levitation charms, light-making spells, even fire-making spells. These spells require basic wand movements and some focus to perform, but anyone is technically capable of doing them without much trouble. This kind of magic can be practiced regularly and is acceptable to use at all times (except in the muggle world of course). It is considered a tool, which also means that it can be used for light of dark purposes (though this also depends on the spell or potion being used). Regular magic is also influenced by emotion – the more emotional the caster is, the stronger and more unpredictable their magic will become.

A Long List of Sins According to a Purity entity
Here is a list of all the sins an angel must avoid.
Smoking. This is considered a sin because the cigarette smoke would cause Heaven pollution. The cigarettes are banned in Heaven. If an angel is caught smoking, they will be sentenced to five years in jail.
Wildfires. Due to Heaven being made of mostly clouds, Fire is forbidden. Starting a fire will result in 4 months of community service, and twelve years in jail.
Demon and Angel intercourse. This is the more serious one. Angels are pure, and demons are not. Well, most of them aren't. Any angels caught mating with a demon results in 12 years of jail time.
Bullying. Mega sin. If an angel is caught bullying someone, they will be sentenced to 20 years in prison, and the Death Chair if they push their bullying too far.
Murder. Results in 5000 years of jail time.
Swearing. This is a sin because cursing like sailors is forbidden in Heaven, and will result in an angel getting 5 months of jail time.
Lashing out at the Golden Angel Society (GAS). Doing so will give the angel culprit the death penalty.
Contraband. This is considered as a sin, because you never know when an angel will smuggle something illegal into the airport. Will result in 55 years of jail time.
Watching R rated movies. Counts as a sin because of all the excessive gore. Any angel caught watching movies like Saw and Child's Play will get 4000 years of jail time.
Watching X Rated movies. Results in 100 years of jail time. Not as bad as gore.
Breaking the rules. Results in zero jail time, but the angel will get trapped in an unbreakable bubble.
Possession of poison. If anyone is caught with a bottle of poison, then they will undergo 4 decades of community service.
Burping. Purity Sayori considers this as a sin, but it'll only result in 2 weeks of jail time.
Farting. Smells worse than a burp, but the culprit will only get 3 weeks of jail time.
Drinking alcohol. Serious sin, and will result in community service for ten months.
Dissing children's shows. Results in 2 days of community service.
@princesshillaryellaworld25 This is as many sins as I could think of.

I'm seeing a lot of stuff in my feed lately related to people going after AO3 for its adult content. I know this has been going on for several years but any idea why there's been an uptick in posts about it? Are there more calls for puritanical censorship than usual? Or is it just more posts making the rounds lately due to the new and returning folks on Tumblr maybe?
Could be the Tumblr resurgence, but I suspect more and more people now old enough to be online don't remember things like ff.net banning NC-17 stories and strikethrough on Livejournal. The people who started those messes were too young to remember Tipper Gore after video games or the Satanic Panic in the 80s, movements which were spearheaded by people who were too young to remember the Comics Code in the 1950s and Elvis' scandalous hip-gyrating, and before that was the Hays Code in the 1930s, and before that was... (Note: I am not saying what is currently happening is anywhere near as wide-ranging as the earlier examples I cited. I just think we're swinging back towards that more conservative/moralistic mindset in a certain subset of the population.)
This comes in waves. And it's just as stupid every time. The last wave was late-oughts, so we're about due for another round. 🙄 Everyone thinks their moral purity is the true moral purity. Until censorship comes around to bite them in the ass, too.
If you want to censor, censor your own content (or that of your [young] children*). Leave everyone else alone. And actually learn the legalities of how all this works. Trust me, it has been legally beaten beyond dead horse and into unidentifiable mincemeat. There are some good books out there about moral panics. Maybe those so obsessed with AO3 should seek those out and occupy themselves with education instead of acting like Crusaders 2022.
*I have strong personal beliefs about censorship and children, but this is already turning into quite a ramble...
