Unpopular(?) Veronica Mars opinion:

I think Duncan did rape (or at least violate) Veronica, but not for the reason most people think.

They were both drugged, so the consent on both sides was dubious at best, but that’s not the biggest problem for me. The thing I keep coming back to (that nobody else ever seems to talk about!) is the fact that he knew (or thought he knew) that they were related, and didn’t tell her. She may have consented to sex, but she definitely did not consent to incest, which would make that rape by deception (or at least attempted rape by deception since they weren’t actually related, but he thought they were at the time.) The whole situation is complicated and confusing but the fact that he believed they were related and had sex with her anyway, and kept that information from her while they were having sex is definitely a violation of some kind. (Plus, yeah, I think Veronica was way more drugged up than he was at the time considering he actually remembers that night while she can’t remember anything at all, and at some point earlier in the night she had been so drugged up that she was completely unconscious when Cassidy raped her)

We’ve just got to the episode where Veronica finds out Duncan knew Meg was pregnant. The Duncan downfall has officially begun!!!!! My mum said and I quote “oh my god, he knew! What a dick! I thought he was nice.”

I think the reason why Veronica Mars gets progressively less interesting with each season is because Veronica's character is not written consistently. The writers seem to alter her personality to suit the plot which makes it very hard for the audience to root for her and sympathise with her ( especially in season 3&4).

There are a lot of instances where this is very evident.

1. She stands up to everyone including logan and Keith and is adamant to a fault but acts like a 1950's housewife with duncan.

2. The writers paint her as a feminist but she casually slut shames every other women including jackie and Parker.

3. She is a loner and has difficulty trusting people but has no problem in discussing her personal life with leo who she barely knows instead of people like wallace, logan and Keith.

4. The movie tells us that she loves being a pi and solving mysteries so much so that it borders on addiction but in season 4 she seems to hate her job.

5. She gives up her cushy new York job to help the downtrodden but in season 4 she seems to be all about the money and scoring rich clients.

6. Season 1 veronica understood the class divide and was a crusader for justice but in season 4 she shames weevil for making choices to protect his family while failing to acknowledge her own privileged situation.

7. Accuses jackie of cheating on wallace just because she had coffee with another guy while Herself continues to spend time with duncan(at java the hut) and piz (dorm room) while being in a relationship with logan.

Now all this would be fine if the writers treated veronica as a flawed character with her own set of biases but they don't. They talk her up to be a hero who is wronged by everyone for no fault of her own.

I watched veronica mars

I binge watched veronica mars all the seasons and the movie. SPOILERS

I love that veronica and Wallace were friends only and never went into a friends to lovers thing.

I would of liked it if Wallace's mom and Veronica's dad stayed together a bit longer but it would not have last.

I like the theme song for all seasons except the 4th the 4th season song would of been better in the movie.

Logan's dad was insane and idk how Lily saw him as someone to have some kind of relationship with. Also why is that kind of a trope in shows that the dad gets with the son's gf.

Cassidy 'Beaver' being the bus Bommer that was a good twist but it would of been executed better with more exposition to his reason cuz why kill the whole bus and not just the 2 kids he was after.

I think the whole switched at birth thing with mac should of been handled better. Like they were 4 they could of made a connection with bio parents and later fall out.

I wish they showed more of what happened with weevil after Mrs. Kane was a racist bitch.

I do think Logan's dad killed Lily, but I think Duncan was there to kind of witness it. He should have gotten his blacked outs checked more in Australia.

I wanted so badly for Logans mom to be alive too but poor kid has to have all the trauma.

Season 4 Veronica didn't feel like Veronica also really took her sweat time with going to therapy.

Who the fuck leaked her and Piz's video.

Why didn't veronica's mom get a paternity test before or during her leaving.

I wanted more Trina moments

FUCKING DICKCASABLANCAS IS CANDY ANDY FROM 2 BROKE GIRLS!

Why did the principal leave Trina in bathroom trashcan there's safe heavens like fire departments. He drove the baby from his house all the way to the school.

David Hodges from CSI was their wedding officiant love that.

Weevil deserved better

Penn being the mass bomber felt a little too unfinished needed better exposition as to why. I know it was that he wanted to be a legend but bud need more than a few bombs and shit.
