✨New item!✨ Friction Wraps Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement)
You have a +1 bonus to attack rolls and damage rolls with your unarmed strikes while wearing these wraps.
Punching with these wraps generates intense heat that is diffused into the target with each subsequent blow. When you hit with an unarmed strike while wearing these wraps, all subsequent unarmed strikes you make before the end of this turn deal an extra 1d8 fire damage. The damage stacks with itself to a maximum of 3d8 with each hit, and then the heat is released and the process starts over. - 🖌🎨 Like our work? This is the post where I show off the stuff I've gotten in the last month-ish. And it's been another good one!
(I mean it's always a good one, I have excellent taste)
Coffee and Chaos: I'm tickled by the concept of a coffeeshop AU, and I know that this game isn't explicitly for that. But it's also not *not* for that. Comes in a like conference-style folder, with all the bits you need to play tucked into the sides, which is also a great presentation that I felt deserved a shout-out!
Far Horizons Guide to Cults: I'm friendly with some Far Horizons folks, but wanted this book because it's awesome. A book containing notes and pre-made cults that have goals and drives beyond just "Be A Cult". I am intrigued by the occult, and I hope this gives me more nuance.
Neurocity: Picked this up on vibes alone, but I'm hearing more and more rad things about the creator. It's dystopic, a little cyberpunk, and the book is dripping with style. Can't wait to dig deeper.
You're In Space and Everything's Fucked: Station and Struggler's Guides: The title alone sold me, but I like what Dinoberry Press puts out in general. This is a solo survival space horror game with a cool respawn mechanic. I also splurged on the fancy version because the covers are very cool.
Dead Belt: The pleather folio for this honestly is what sold me, but the game itself is really cool. Salvage ships by laying out cards, exploring, and managing your air and tool resources. Try not to die. I haven't really succeeded at that last part yet...
Exquisite Corpse in the Maggot's Keep: Technically, this isn't a TTRPG, but it's go so many TTRPG folks in it that it might as well be. It's a choosable path adventure written by a variety of people in (if I remember the pitch) exquisite corpse style.
Best Left Buried: Throne of Avarice and In Calamity's Wake: As we already know, I'm a SoulMuppet fan (as in, I've written for their other big series, Orbital Blues). The main book, Throne of Avarice, was written by a creator whose work I've been trying to get more of. I haven't read Best Left Buried as fully as a game, but I am really excited by the excuse to dig in.
Between Clouds: I like air islands and big monsters and found family. Partially, I grabbed this because a friend got really excited about it, and it seemed like it could be fun to run a campaign with them, but I'm also curious about the Year Zero Engine, and glad to see people using it.
Kitchen Knightmares: Grabbed this as an add-on for the You're In Space crowdfund, but I'm glad I got it because it's loosely inspired by This Discord Has Ghosts In It, and that game rules. I might be able to pitch this to my friend group, who enjoyed Discord Has Ghosts.
In a Mirror Brightly/Handbaskets: First off, plug for the RTFM podcast, because it's very good. This two-games-in-one book is created by the two hosts of that show, who are great designers and seem really lovely. But, two wildly different vibes in a single volume is a great idea.
You Meet in a Tavern, You Die in a Dungeon: I've been following the creator for this since some of my earliest days in the RPG scene, so I was happy to help make this a reality. Feels very tropey, and I mean that in the best way possible.
In Other Waters: Tidebreak: Honestly, I have barely scratched the surface of In Other Waters, the PC game this is based on. But this is a Mothership solo hack that returns to that world, and it had me curious based on that pitch alone.
Aaand because I'm a doofus who forgot to include it, here's one more book! PLUS A guest appearance from my new desk mat.
Tumblr media
Teeth: Been into Forged in the Dark lately, and as much as I enjoy Monster of the Week, the pitch for this seemed like it was more my speed. You're monster hunters, trying to keep the occult under wraps, while keeping secrets of your own. Plus, horror comedy!
The mat is the cover art from Friends at the Table's current season, Palisade. It's an Armor Astir campaign following up on some of the characters from their Partizan series.

The Governor - Level 12 Monk (Way of the Drunken Master)
Just finished my boys level 12 outfit, and it's been awhile since i shared him on here. I'm super proud of how he turned out, but it took me an age to finish because of all the insane detailing i decided to go for. But only the best for my fancy lad.
He is a 3ft 5 tabaxi, who was trafficked as a young kitten to be an exotic pet. After he lashed out at a captor, blinding them in one eye, he was declawed and had to relearn how to use his hands without them. Escaping, he was taught to fight on the streets by a disgraced master monk and eventually was able to have metal claws surgically implanted back into his fingers and toes. He's a tough boy.
Below the level 12 we have base model, then level 4 outfit, then level 8.
On his person he has
Tunic of Displacement - reskinned Cloak of Displacement.
Friction Wraps+ - Upgraded combat wraps for his boxing/martial arts style combat. Made by the dungeon strugglers instagram.
Charm of Blasting - Mounted to his foot wrap, he can essentially firebend once per day.
Amulet of Health - Bolsters his con score.
Hope you like him! x

Highlighting Homebrew
From my recent poll, it seems people were most interested in some homebrew space related content, so I've scoured the interwebs for some neat content I feel fits the Astronomer class rather well. A few magic items, and a neat NPC with plot hooks! Take a look at all of these, they really are worth the time.
So first, something new from The Griffon's Saddlebag. Really, it's just a candle that gives you darkvision out to 60 ft (assuming you're a race that doesn't have it already, he's not real clear on whether that adds another 60 ft for races that have it), but the aesthetic is just too good.
Then we have something from Leidensygdom. It's a neat sword they drew called the North Star, it isn't given stats but the artwork is just so nice, they're very talented!
And next, a few swords drawn during Swordtember by Shmaba. Not all of them are space/celestial themed, but the ones that are sure would make wonderful weapons for a strength based Astronomer, or a Circle of Stars druid who didn't use strength as the dump stat.
The next one's a little different, and interesting. The actual art is done by Ninovecia on DeviantArt, but the NPC is made by the good folks over at Daily Adventure Prompts. To quote the post directly: "Where they once forged weapons for heavenly legions, the celestial Dhruva has spent several eons perfecting an art of capturing, channeling, and tempering light they refer to as “brightsmithing”, which they now hope to propagate across the multiverse." So, a celestial blacksmith that tempers light itself, eh? Wonder what kind of blades they make, what stories they have to share....
And lastly we have the Dungeon Strugglers with an arrow made from matter most dark. It's like shooting a miniature black hole, and personally I love it. Black holes are some of the universe's most awesome and terrifyingly destructive things, so to have an arrow that can mimic even a fraction of one's strength is powerful indeed.

Eternal Automaton – Medium Construct, lawful neutral
The eternal automata are truly a marvel of arcane mechanical engineering – even by current standards. Invented by an ancient civilization of seafarers, their creation led to a period of enormous progress, peace and prosperity. Over the centuries most of these peculiar constructs got lost in time. Legend has it, however, that some of them are still intact…

Demon Spine Weapon (whip), very rare (requires attunement)
This long, jagged spine was ripped from the fresh corpse of a demon. The boney discs are eternally slick with crimson ichor, and an abyssal flame flickers from within, where the spinal cord would be. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon, and it deals an extra 1d6 fire damage to any target it hits. The demon spine has 7 charges, and it regains 1d6+1 expended charges after you complete a long rest.
Searing Laceration. When you attack a creature with this whip, you can expend one charge to make it a searing lash. If the attack hits, the creature is then marked with a searing laceration until the start of your next turn. Each time a lacerated creature is hit by an attack, it takes an extra 1d6 fire damage. If the creature is reduced to 0 hit points while it has a searing laceration, it erupts into an explosion of flame. Each creature within 5 feet of the exploding creature must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 fire damage.
Demonic Fortitude. As a bonus action while wielding the demon spine, you can expend two charges to gain resistance to fire and poison damage for 1 minute. Additionally, all poisons affecting you are neutralized when this property is used.
Curse. Each time you expend one or more charges from the whip, you have a 5% chance of becoming possessed by Bilvemoz, the demon whose spine you are wielding. The possession lasts until you complete a long rest. If you become possessed, the incorporeal spirit of Bilvemoz will enter your body and compete for control of your impulses. Each time you make a moral decision or roll initiative, you must make a DC 16 Charisma saving throw or do what Bilvemoz desires. Bilvemoz has an Intelligence of 15, a Wisdom of 15, and a Charisma of 15, and perceives through your senses while possessing you. Bilvemoz communicates telepathically with you and can speak, read, and understand Abyssal, Infernal, and Common. Bilvemoz can use your mouth to speak with a deep, vicious snarl. Bilvemoz seeks to corrupt mortals, slay devils, and takes wicked glee in forcing you to enact evil deeds when the opportunity arises, but is bored by anything else.
Cruel punishment from one demon to another; the owner of this backbone was reduced to a mere tool of pain.

✨New item!✨ Charon’s Obol  Wondrous item, rarity varies
The rarity of this coin is determined by the metal it is made of. A common obol is copper, uncommon is silver, rare is gold, and very rare is platinum. While the coin is in the mouth of a dead creature, it bestows powers upon the corpse, detailed below. Each ascending rarity also grants the properties of the lesser rarities.
Copper. The corpse can’t become undead.
Silver. The corpse can’t be targeted by any necromantic magic.
Gold. The corpse is resistant to all damage and protected from decay. A creature that attempts to remove the coin from the corpse’s mouth must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 5d10 radiant damage and fail to remove the coin.
Platinum. The corpse is immune to all damage and can't be targeted by any divination magic or perceived through magical scrying sensors. A creature that attempts to remove the coin from the corpse’s mouth must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 10d10 radiant damage, fails to remove the coin, and is thrown 20 feet from the corpse. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage, removes the coin, and is not thrown.
In lands where necromancers roam and the dead are restless, it is a common burial rite to place an obol in the mouth of the deceased. - 🖌🎨 Like our work? Instagram of the week - Dungeon Strugglers
https://www.instagram.com/dungeon_strugglers/
Iregular updates, magic items. Details of the items are posted in the comments:
Tumblr media
Darkmatter Arrow Ammunition (arrow), rare —— The pitch black arrowhead seems to drain the light from around it. You have a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this piece of magic ammunition. A 15-foot-radius sphere of crushing force forms around the arrowhead when it impacts something. Each creature in the sphere must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 3d10 force damage and is pulled in a straight line toward the center of the sphere, ending in an unoccupied space as close to the center as possible (even if that space is in the air). On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage and isn't pulled. Additionally, within the sphere, loose objects are pulled towards the center and nonmagical fires are snuffed out. Once the arrow impacts something, it implodes and leaves nothing behind.
Tumblr media
Corrupted Treant Heart Wondrous item, very rare (requires attunement by a Druid) —— This twisted and blackened wooden heart is strung through with thorny vines and worn as a pendant. Thorns dig into your neck while you are attuned to this magical item, reducing your hit point maximum by 5. Your skin develops a black and spiny bark-like appearance and you gain the benefit of the barkskin spell (doesn’t require concentration). Additionally, creatures that hit you with melee attacks take 1d4 piercing damage. Once per dawn, as an action you can cause a surge of thorns to erupt from the ground in a line 5 feet wide and 60 feet long. Any creature on the same surface as you that is caught in this area must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spellcasting DC. On a failure they take 8d4 piercing damage and their walking speed is halved until the start of your next turn. On a success a creature takes half damage and its walking speed is not halved.

Chapter Ten
Jim shook his head. Jonesy glanced at him. "Are you alright, Jim?"
"Am I alright? Am I alright?! No, I'm not alright, you fool!" Jim screamed.
Cory jumped up on the cart. "Hey, calm down. Nothing about what just happened was okay, but don't blow up over it. We're closer than we were before."
"But we're about to go to war."
"Then that's how it is. Jim, you need to calm down. Where's your friend right now?"
"Ray?"
"Yes. Where is he?"
Jim blinked. "I don't know." He held up his necklace. "Look." Cory carefully took the crystal. "It's dying."
"But he's not. It's strong enough to be rejecting my touch." He let the crystal fall back into Jim's hand. "Just...try to talk to him."
Jim nodded and closed his eyes. He focused his whole being into the crystal. Please, please answer me.
>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<
Ray jolted up and hit his head on the ceiling. His head was burning and thoughts were racing through his mind. "My ring. My ring. It's gone!"
 >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<
"Out! Out, you rats!" the kitchen lady shouted as she swung a broom at the two men.
"We just wanted some bread, lady!" the shorter out shouted back.
The other one grabbed the short one's cape. "C'mon, David. We're not getting it," he huffed. He dragged his companion halfway down the hall. His friend struggled and clawed at his hand the whole time.
"But RoJim!" the struggler gasped.
"I told you not to call me that!" the handler snapped.
"No, seriously! Roger, stop. Stop. Stopstopstopstopsto--"
Roger stopped. "What?!"
David went straight-faced. "I saw a ring."
Roger frowned. "No, you didn't. You said that last time too. We're not turning around this time just to find some long lost ring of your ancestors! It probably burned up in a volcano or something."
"Hey! Enough with the short remarks! I did see a ring this time. It had a ruby set in it. It was glowing, Jim!" David enthused. He ran back down the hallway.
"David! I hope all of the short gods damn you!" Roger shouted as he followed. When he caught up, David did have a ring.
"See? It's glowing. You don't think..." David looked up at Roger. "It's not..."
"No way." Roger picked it up. "Oh, gods, it is!"
"How does it work?"
Roger shrugged. "No clue. Gene might know."
"Or Chris."
Roger looked at David. "We'd have better luck giving it to Michael."
David stuck his tongue out at Roger.
 >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<
Jim sat back at looked at Cory. "It didn't work."
"Try again."
 >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<
David readjusted his cape. "So... Is it re--"
"I've answered that," Roger huffed.
"I just wanna know."
"And I don't know."
"Okay, okay."
David glanced at the ring. "Don't even think of it," Roger mumbled. He slipped the ring on his finger. "I wear it. Don't try to even-- Ow!" He ripped the ring off. David ran over and grabbed it before it rolled away. "Don't put it on!"
"Why, will it make me invisible?" David jeered. He slipped it on. "Ooh, ouch! Why is it hot?! Roger!"
"I don't know!"
"Get it off!"
Roger grabbed the ring and yelped. "It's too hot!"
"What are you two doing!?" a new person asked.
Roger grabbed David's wrist and waved his hand around. "He found a ring, Chris! And it's burning his hand!"
"Then take it off!" Chris exclaimed.
"Listen, I'd love to! But I can't! It's like it's burning into my hand!" David snapped.
"Let me try."
Roger stopped Chris. "Trust me. That's a bad idea."
"Says the guy who just tried to steal a loaf of bread," Chris scoffed. He barely even touched the ring before recoiling. "God, that's hot. Hey, Michael, c'mere."
A very tall man approach. "What?"
Chris pointed at the ring. "David found something. For once. It's hot."
"Hot like...he stole it? Or hot like it's burning his hand hot?"
"Burning!" David screamed. "It's burning my hand! My finger's gonna fall off!"
"Well, then you wouldn't have this problem," Michael said flatly.
"Say that again and I'll stab you," David growled.
"Relax. It was a joke."
"Didn't sound like it!"
"Why are you still holding his wrist, Jim?" Chris asked suddenly.
"I don't have an answer for that," Roger said as he let go. "Where's Gene. He'll know what to do."
 >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<
"Someone has it..." Jim mumbled. "But it's like I can't reach them either. It must be cracked."
Cory touched the necklace. "Don't you think that's hot?" Jim made a face. "The crystal isn't hot?"
"No, it's... Someone has it then. Definitely. It only gets hot if someone has it when they aren't supposed to," Jim muttered. Answer me. Who are you?
 >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<
"The voices are back!" David exclaimed suddenly.
"What?!" the other three said.
"I don't know how to answer you!" David fussed. "I don't know who you are!"
Use your mind.
"My what?"
Of course, an idiot. Why do you have Ray's ring?
"Ray? Who's Ray?" David asked. He held the ring up to his face. "Can you hear me through this ring? Are you trapped in there?"
No! Hell, okay... Okay. Take the ring off.
"But it's hot."
"I'm starting to get concerned," Chris whispered to the other two.
It shouldn't be now since we're talking. Take it off and give it to someone else.
"Oh. Okay." David winced as he took the ring off. "Oh! It's not hot anymore. Here, RoJim. There you go."
"I don't want it!" Roger snapped. "Give it to Chris!"
"What?! Why me! Give it Michael!"
"Give it me," another person sighed. He took the ring and put it on his finger. Okay, who are you.
Someone who actually answers. Impressive. Why do you have Ray's ring?
I'm going to assume either Roger and David stole it or they found it because your friend lost it.
By the gods...
The new man took it off. "Where'd you find this?"
"B-by the kitchens," David muttered. "What were you just--"
"Don't question it. We need to find its owner."
"Gene, we're kind of still outlaws here," Michael muttered. "We can't just walk around freely."
"It came from the dungeons," Gene explained. "We have to return it. I have a feeling I know whose it is."
 >*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<>*<
"Whoever answered it the second time knows what it is," Jim said.
"That's a good thing," Cory said.
"Hey, hate to break this up, but... We need to be going," John said.
"But we just caught these!" Danny shouted as he held up two rabbits. Chuck huffed and dropped the three he had.
"Bring them. They'll hold for a while," John said. "Get everyone together, we need to move out."
"I'm going to stay here and work this out with Cory," Jim said to John. The former Rider nodded and called for Jonesy to join him up front.
Chuck and Danny tossed the rabbits onto the cart and then jumped up themselves. Brian stiffened when he saw the rabbits and stiffened more when he saw the other two. Mick sat down beside Brian and looked forward.
"We reach the border with Lielt tomorrow," he mumbled.
