"They arrested someone"
Tumblr media
So.
Yes what? Yes it means something to you? Does it mean oh, that's Jessica's brother, or is it something else?
And this was before he got jealous of the whole Phil flirting with us. So did we ever find out what's up or am I reading too much into this?

Duskwood - Top 10 Characters (English) Contains Spoilers!
Jake: Wanted hacker who is everyone's (including mine) main love interest. He is a cutie when it comes to us and his development as the conversations went on was perfect.
Dan: The driver of the year has always been the most sensible character in the game in my opinion. I liked him from the beginning for his humor and sarcastic responses. I grew to like him even more after what he did in EP 10 when he shot the faceless man and told me more about his life. (Our horror movie night is guaranteed in my mind)
Jessy: Do I need to say it? She is such a sweetheart! Unfortunately she has suffered a lot all along: Difficult relationship with her brothers, the guilt over Dan's accident, the attack of the Faceless Man, Richy's death, Richy's revelation... She deserves to be protected from all the evil in this world.
Phil: The bartender who was just living his life and ended up getting accused by Cleo, having his bar raided and ended up in jail through no fault of his own. (Plus he is super sexy, hard not to like)
Lilly: I could never feel anger towards her. I always understood her for acting like this to want to find her sister. I was actually super happy when we could finally become friends. (You have to have a good relationship with your sister-in-law)
Alan: The policeman is a bit difficult to deal with, but in the last EP he did more than many people in the whole game.
Richy: I have a love-hate relationship with the mechanic. Until his supposed death, he was a super nice guy, cute and sweet. After he revealed himself as the man without a face I feel a certain disgust. This irresponsible man helped in the concealment of a body and would take this secret to the grave if it were not for Hannah and Amy. He also planned to fake Michael's death to get out of the mine well with Hannah if it wasn't for Dan's shot. He just killed himself to avoid being arrested in my view. (As Olivia Rodrigo says: Like a damn sociopath)
Cleo: She is kind of nice sometimes, but in general I don't really care for her. She is extremely impulsive without even hesitating to break into places and make accusations without much evidence.
Thomas: The emotionally dependent boyfriend only had his moment of usefulness in EP 8 with Jessy, after that he just made me angry. He practically only talked to us when it was convenient, used Hannah's cell phone when we told him NOT to, tried to follow the faceless man and managed to fail. And lastly, when we were offered to be traded for Hannah, he practically handed us over on a platter without even caring if we died or not. To him, we have always been a means to an end.
Hannah: I NEVER liked her. The way everyone put her on a pedestal made me sick, and after finding out that she fell in love with Jake, killed Jennifer and hid the body, my disgust only increased. As if that wasn't enough, she still went to Iris' house several times. Do you understand? She killed her daughter! And she would have afternoon tea as if she were a great friend! At the end of the game she was supposed to be dragged to prison to pay for what she did.

- MY DUSKWOOD EISODE 10 THOUGHTS -
Okie, so it is May 29th 8:45 am where I'm from as I'm starting with this, I finished my first cup of coffee for the morning and my brain finally started to function enough to start making comprehensible sentences, and I did mention in my earlier post I could write an essay about it, so here we are. 🤭
⚠️ I'll put this under the cut, even though there is not really any specific spoilers in it, but still 😊 So maybe, if you still haven't finished with the ep 10, skip reading it for now. ⚠️
So, episode 10 is done, and all I can say is HOLLY MOTHER OF ALL THAT'S SACRED!!!!
This was an absolute MASTERPIECE!! People of Everbyte, you are AMAZING! AMAZING!!!💚💚
Honestly, I was extremely nervous when we learned that ep 10 will be the last one - I really believed that there were too many unresolved things, too many questions that were left hanging in the air to actually be able to fit them all into one episode and to not make it turn out rushed or leave me with even more questions, but I never expected something like this!
From the moment I started, my heart was beating so hard, and it only intensified as I pogressed more into the episode. Every conversation made me anxious, waiting to lear more about all the "why's" and "how's" that we still had to learn of. Every (video) call gave me such an adrenalin rush, resulting in me screaming at my phone a few times, what to cheer or to repeat a constant 'NO NO NO' thinking haven't they suffered enough already?! Gosh, every minute of my playthrough was accompanied with so much emotions coursing through me, it was an amazing expirience! 💚💚
And for Jake? Well, we might not have gotten a face or voice reveal (which is totally fine with me actually 😉), but at the end, in my eyes, we got something much, MUCH better! 💚💚💚💚
Ok, I do have to say, even though there are few things that did still leave me with a question mark above my head, or that I might have hoped to interact with in some way, but the way Everbyte exectued this whole thing, it absolutely, in no way changes the fact that this episode was, no IS, the spectacular, amazing, extraordinary grand finale I hoped for! 💚💚💚💚
And so we came to the end of Duskwood - we laughed with it, we cried with it (?) ,and it really does feel like an end of an era 🥺 And yes, we all know it is just a game, but that still doesn't change anything. Because, for a little while, at least for me, Duskwood was a bright light in my life, an escape from a sometimes tough reality, and I am so glad that I had a pleasure to be a part of such an amazing game! 💚💚💚💚
Thank you Everbyte for not giving up when times got hard and for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this masterpiece! I'm very much looking forward to see what other 'ace's up your sleeve' you have for us in the future!! 💚💚
Thanks to anyone who read this till the end. Much hugs to you all, have a wonderful day/evening/night 💚

EPISODE 8 SPOILERS
Jake: Okay, I want you to talk to this person named “Darkness”, he seems a bit closed off and secretive so you’ll have to be careful and earn his interest. This might be tricky.
MC: So I basically have to treat him like an edgier version of you?
Jake: Well yes— I mean... huh?
MC: *flips shades and smirks* This will be easy.

A/N: Alright, here it is! Part two of the story I posted here (I guess I should come up with a title for it, huh?) There a few hundred words less than the other one but I liked the way it ended and I decided to go with it. I still have ideas to keep it going so let me know if you're interested in it. Hope y'all enjoy it!
Pairing: Jake x MC
Word Count: 2.7k
Warnings: spoilers for ep. 8 (still), a little jealous!Jake, and you can see some of my own theories there but nothing much
Falling asleep was never something that came easily to Jake; the constant fear and anxiety of being found were always in his head and every little noise outside of his room would startle him awake, no matter how long he had been sleeping. Even when things were relatively safe and he knew there wasn’t anyone after him, sleeping was something Jake rarely did. He would sleep as little as humanly possible and usually only when he couldn’t bear to be awake any longer.
So it was a pleasant surprise when he quickly fell asleep by MC’s side. She had asked him to lay with her so she wouldn’t be alone because she was afraid of having more nightmares and Jake could never deny MC anything if there was the possibility of saying yes. They laid side by side, MC resting her head on his arm, her own over his waist, one leg between his, and her face mostly hidden in his chest. Jake had threaded his fingers through her hair, heard her sigh and relax against him, and she was asleep within minutes. She looked like the most gorgeous person he had ever seen and he was more than content in watching her throughout the night, to just keep her safe.
Still, Jake’s eyelids got heavy half an hour in, his hand tiring and resting on MC’s shoulder just before he finally gave in and let himself fall asleep, not wanting to fight to stay awake one more night.
When he woke up, it was to the smell of coffee and food, two things Jake wasn’t used to. His heart beat fastly as he sat up, looking around the room with wide eyes until he spotted MC sitting on the table with a mug in her hands and her tablet in front of her, and he remembered her showing up there the last night. She only raised one questioning brow, taking a sip from her mug as Jake finally breathed out, allowing himself to relax, and laid back on the bed. He heard MC chuckle and he only waved her off, closing his eyes and placing his arm over them. The bed was soft and still warm and Jake wouldn’t say no to getting some more sleep, even if he felt more rested than he had ever felt in years; he also wanted to bask in the feeling of being relaxed for a while longer.
A few minutes had passed when he felt the bed weigh down by his side and Jake felt MC’s hand in his hair, so he moved his face until her hand cupped his cheek. He took his arm off his face to look at her, smiling when he noticed the soft blush that covered her cheeks and placing one of his hands on her knees, running his fingers in random patterns.
Neither of them said anything for a while and Jake was more than content to just watch her, to memorize the soft lines of her face, the way her hair fell over her eyes, making them slightly darker but all the more beautiful. Her presence still didn’t feel real and Jake was afraid of it all being a dream—even if he wasn’t creative enough to come up with all of that—so he would take all the chances of having the reassurance that she was indeed there, he would take all the touches she deemed him worthy of having, he would enjoy all the looks she would spare him; anything that would allow him to have her as close as possible. He’d be happy to just look at her from across the room, to just know she was there with him and that she was real and safe and—
“Jake?” MC’s voice broke through his concentration and he blinked a few times to focus on her face again, finding a smirk on her lips.
“I’m sorry, MC. You were saying?”
“I just asked if you were hungry,” she answered through chuckles. “I made breakfast with some of the stuff you had in the fridge. I’d guess you’re just as hungry as I was when I woke up.”
Jake smiled, nodding before sitting up again. “Starving, actually. Do I smell coffee, too?”
“Of course you do. What do you think I am, a savage?” she pointed at the coffee pot on the table she was sitting at. “I wasn’t sure how you’d take your coffee and I didn’t try and guess it either.”
MC stood up and offered him one of her hands. Jake took it and let himself be pulled up by her, finding it all the better when she didn’t let go of his hand and walked with him to the table. She sat at the chair she was before, grabbing her mug once again. Jake poured himself some coffee on another mug and slowly sipped it as he watched MC read something on her tablet, her brows furrowing as she went along whatever text she had open. She would sometimes write something on the piece of paper she had by her side, then she would stare at it as she tapped her pen on the table, her lips moving as she reread some sentence or tried to make sense of something.
Jake realized he could stare at her all day, just watch as she did nothing out of the ordinary but still looked like the most amazing person in the whole world. That was until his stomach growled and he realized he actually needed to eat something and that he should get back to work. MC smiled at him when he raised from the table and walked to the kitchen. She had managed to put together some eggs with what seemed melted cheese and tomatoes, and Jake would be lying if he said it didn’t smell amazing. He took the whole pan and a fork with him before walking to his computer and turning it on.
There were a bunch of notifications from the group chat, mostly everyone keeping each other up to speed about how they were doing and that they were okay. MC had answered for both of them without actually saying they were together, but it seemed to be good enough for the rest of the group; she never ceased to amaze him with how well she dealt with people and how quickly and strongly she had managed to earn the trust from the group. Not that it should surprise him so much when he was also between the ones that had started to trust her so easily.
He hadn’t gotten any notifications about his persecutors nor any news about the police. Apparently, they were still investigating Hanson’s house and trying to find anything because, unsurprisingly, everything was gone by the time the police had gotten there. Good thing Jessica thought of taking pictures of everything so they could at least have some kind of proof; Jake wouldn’t be surprised if the police tried to turn it around and blame it all on the group. He opened Thomas’s videocall to try and see if anything stood out, if he could better the image of the kidnapper’s physique or face or anything that could tell them who it was behind the mask.
Sadly, there wasn’t much he could; even his extensive knowledge couldn’t magically unblurry the whole video or get rid of the mask. There were a few things he could take from the writings and pictures on the walls—not everything because it moved too fast—and he could say for sure that the kidnapper was strong and quick. Thomas had a hard time holding him when he yelled for Jessica and the kidnapper ran almost as fast as the two of them. Even if Michael had kept up with taking care of his physique and trained, he still would have a hard time keeping up with Thomas and Jessica.
Staring at the better screenshot he had managed to take from the kidnapper, he called out, “MC? Could you do me a favour?”
There was no answer and Jake turned his head to look at her. MC seemed deeply concentrated on whatever she was writing on the paper, her hand moving quickly and her head moving from the tablet to the paper and back to the tablet. He quietly stood up and made his way to her side, looking over her shoulder at the paper. Her handwriting was messy and things didn’t seem to follow an order Jake knew about, so he had no idea what she was writing. On the tablet, however, she seemed to be going through some police reports and their discoveries from the cloud. The only thing that stood out to him was the name ‘Phil Hawkins’.
Jake sighed, sitting on the chair next to her and placing a hand on top of the paper she was writing. MC pushed his hand enough so she could finish writing whatever she was writing before raising her head to face him, placing the pen on the paper.
“Everything okay, Jake?”
“I called you and you didn’t answer, thought I could take a look at what you were doing.” She dropped her eyes to the tablet and seemed to realize Jake knew she was searching for something about Phil. “What are you looking for, MC?”
“I’m trying to find out what they arrested Phil for and if we have anything that could prove his innocence.” She hesitated for a few seconds, her eyes darting down to her tablet before focusing on him again. “And I actually wanna ask a favour from you. Could you give me access to Phil’s phone?”
“Why?” Jake heaved a heavy sigh out his mouth, pulling his hand closer to him and staring at her. “Why are you so worried about him?”
She closed her eyes for a few seconds, straightening her back before looking back to him. “He trusted me enough to call me for help, Jake. Not a lawyer or his sisters, me. We still don’t know for sure what his connection to Michael is or how much they actually knew each other back then, but I believe him.” MC sighed, running a hand through her hair. “I know you don’t like him and I truly appreciate the fact that you want to protect me, but there’s a reason why you trusted me to help find Hannah.” She turned fully to him, placing a hand over his, her eyes soft and caring. “But you also have to trust my intuition. We both know it’s been right when you weren’t and I truly believe Phil is innocent concerning Hannah and Amy.”
“But you don’t know the whole truth either, MC. How can you be so sure you can trust him and that you won’t be helping a murderer get out of jail?”
MC smiled sadly, her eyes dropping to their hands. “You know, a while ago, when we first started researching about the man without a face, Richy asked me to be careful and not to turn it into a bigger thing than it was and I told him that I’m looking for facts and not monsters, and I am. I won’t get Phil out of jail by my intuition only. I need proof for the police to actually let him go and for me to be right. But I also need to look for the proof, I need to go through everything I can to make sure I’m right and for my conscience to be clean about freeing him. And if we’re going for not knowing the whole truth about something or someone,” she raised her eyes to him and Jake had never seen her look so serious before, “I also don’t know the whole truth about you but that doesn’t stop me from trusting you, does it?”
Jake didn’t have an answer to that and he couldn’t take looking at her eyes and seeing the hurt there. He knew she was right; he was, indeed, hiding things from her and, even if it was to protect her, it didn’t make it any less of a lie or an omission. How could he judge someone about hiding something when he was doing exactly the same, especially to her?
“Hey,” she placed a hand under his chin and raised his head so she could look at him. “I’m not saying it to make you feel bad. I’m sure you have your reasons to be hiding things from me, even if it’s just because of your hero complex, though it doesn’t make it any easier. But I also know everyone in the group is lying about something to me, too, just like you and Phil are. No one is one hundred percent honest all the time and I can’t force anyone to be. It just doesn’t stop me from wanting to help any of them or you. None of them have given me a bad enough reason not to try to help or to trust them. Even Lilly did her best to show she’s trustworthy. I don’t see any reason why it should be any different for Phil, especially if your only excuse is not liking him. As much of a flirt as he can be, it’s not enough for us to just let him rot in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, don’t you think?”
He sighed, nodding against her hand before turning his head to rest it on her palm, her thumb caressing his cheek. “Would you believe me if I said I’m actually feeling slightly guilty of going against proving Phil’s innocence, now?”
She chuckled, leaning in to kiss his forehead. “Have you forgotten who you’re talking to? Of course I believe you.” MC’s fingers trailed over his arm, leaving goosebumps in their trail, her eyes soft as she stared at him. “Will you give me access to Phil’s phone, then?”
“That’s not fair. You know I couldn’t deny you that, MC.”
“I know you can’t but it doesn’t mean I can’t ask nicely. Me proving Phil’s innocent isn’t about choosing between him and you, Jake. Believe me, Phil may be nice and flirty, but he’s not my type. I’d rather keep insisting on this stubborn hacker I know.”
Jake chuckled, placing his hand over MC’s and turning his head so he could kiss her palm. “If he’s as stubborn as you are, I’m sure you’ll have a hard time getting through him.”
“You have no idea.” MC smiled, tilting her head. “Will you do it?”
“Of course I will, on one condition.” She sighed and muttered something Jake couldn’t make out, though he was sure it was something sarcastic. “Promise you won’t put yourself in danger over this. Or in any more danger than you already are. Freeing Phil will never be more important than keeping you safe to me.”
“I promise. I mean, if we’re both careless, who the hell is going to make sure we’re not caught?” Jake laughed and shook his head at her. MC leaned closer to him, their foreheads touching, her other hand sliding up his arm until she placed it on his shoulder. “Jake?” He hummed, not being able to look anywhere but her eyes. “Can I kiss you?”
“Not if I kiss you first.”
But MC was faster in closing the distance between them and Jake got caught in how soft her lips felt under his and in how her hands moved to wrap around his neck and play with his hair. He moved one of his to MC’s waist and the other to her cheek, wanting to pull her as close as he physically could, wanting to share the same space with her, to keep her from moving away from him.
Sadly, his lungs didn’t seem to get the memo and they soon burned and forced him to part from her. When they broke apart, Jake panted a little, letting his forehead rest against hers and keeping his eyes closed. It took a few seconds before MC talked again, “You know, making out with me won’t rid you of hacking into Phil’s phone for me.”
Jake chuckled, opening his eyes to stare at MC, and he thought he had never felt as happy as he did at that moment.

Two weeks - DUSKWOOD THEORIES
Okay, again I was thinking about the Duskwood days, and that's when I realized something blew my mind.
So, it's this:
- Hannah disappears, probably the next day Thomas gets in touch with the MC.
- I believe that the same day we had the news that a body was found.
- Days later we found out that this body was Amy's.
- Cleo says she hasn't seen Amy in drawing class for 2 weeks, right? (I'm pretty sure she says that)
- I guess we haven't spent two weeks in the game yet.
- But what I mean is. We found Amy's number, which was one of the last ones Hannah called, remember?
- Well then, if my accounts are correct, Hannah disappeared about 1 week ago, that means that Amy was already missing the day Hannah was kidnapped, and so that's when I asked myself: If Amy was already been kidnapped before Hannah, how were they talking?
I don't know, maybe I'm crazy, or losing pieces along the way, but somehow I think Amy was captured before Hannah, and how were they talking the same day Hannah was captured? Have you noticed this before?

Lilly: Nunca consegui sentir raiva dela.
(Como diz Olivia Rodrigo: Like a damn sociopath)
Hannah: NUNCA gostei dela. Entendem? Ela matou a filha dela!

Do you think we can get a quick summary of what happened in ep 8? ❤ I only remember the major bits but I have a feeling imma forget a few things 😅
But of course, you dont have to! (Just a suggestion haha) 🌺
Anon? I love you!🤭❤️ There could be no better distraction.😂
Okay, of course I may forget something too, so just add what is important in the comments or with a reblog!😁
Let's go 🥳
The episode started with us writing Richy.
Then we told the others in the group that something bad had happened to him.
Then came the call of Cleo and Thomas, informing us that Phil had left Jennifer’s bracelet at the pawnbroker.
After that, we had to explain to the others what had happened to Richy.
Lilly then tried to call the police, but no one of the police answered. (lol)
It was discussed whether someone should go into the forest, that one was Thomas, although we stopped Jessy shortly before. However, Thomas has not yet been marked, but Jessy.
Lilly asked us not to let anyone go into the woods.
If we decide to do this, Thomas will leave immediately.
Lilly tried to reach the police again, and this time it worked.
If we send Thomas into the woods, the police will still go there.
Next, Jessy writes us and she tells us about Richy and that she’s at Rogers garage.
If Thomas doesn’t go into the woods, she’ll tell us the police found Richy’s cap. If Thomas goes into the forest, we are all get video called by thomas, but Dan is missing, but in this call Thomas finds the cap of Richy.
Then we get the first time written by Jake, we can talk to him about how we’re doing and then we talk to him about the attack.
In the conversation, we find out that Richy was deliberately taken into the forest by the MWAF.
Then for the first time we get a call from Alan who tells us that he wants to ask us a few questions. But Jake stops the call.
Then it is discussed in the group chat whether the others should still go to the secret house in the forest.
Cleo then says she wants to know everything about our investigation and the things Jake and MC found out. And she’s asking us for Jake to join the group.
Then we ask Jake, and he "agrees" with both things.
However, we must remove Richy from the group first.
Thanks to dan, Jake then tells us that he also saw Hannah’s abduction through a video call, and therefore knew about it so quickly. He also tells the others that he is a government-wanted hacker.
Before we start disclosing our hints, Jessy has to go home.
Dan’s texting us to tell us he still doesn’t trust Jake.
Then gradually we start to tell the others everything that Jake and we found out.
Then Dan demands a break.
Then Lilly writes us and tells us that her parents don’t know who Amy Bell Lewis was.
Then Lilly asks us to help her write the text to Ted, the prisoner. We also invite Jake.
After that we start again in the group chat to go through the hints and talk mainly about the phone list of Hannah and why these people have talked to her on the phone.
And Jake shows us that on the memorial stone that was found at Amy, the name is "Jennifer Hanson".
Then we end the conversation about all the clues we found in the episodes before.
Next, we write briefly with Jake and we talk about how we feel about disclosure.
Next Jake finds Amy’s entry in the Dark forum and we log in there to check it out ourselves.
Then we get the order from him to contact Darkness to find out what they was talking to Amy about.
In between, we can write history at the Forum and let the future be predicted by the Lotus Lady.
Then Jessy writes us about the file she found at Roger’s garage, the file of Michael Hanson. She then asks us if we want to call there. Unfortunately, this number is no longer available.
Jessy also tells us the address of Michael Hanson’s house.
We can then talk to her about us worrying about her and she tells us about her nightmare she always had when she was a child.
During the conversation with Jessy, we get the first message from Alan.
After the conversation, Jake asks us how it goes in the forum and we can tell him about Alan’s message. Jake can’t see these and then says he’s trying to crack the police encryption.
Then we can finally talk to Darkness about what he talked to Amy about. Luckily, he sends us Amy’s number, so we can finally find out that the last number on Hannah’s phone list is Amy’s.
Next, Jake asks us to take a closer look at Amy’s profile.
(I don’t want to say that then the best part is coming, but then comes the best part of the episode. xD > Jake writes us and asks us if we like Chinese food and that he would like to have dinner with us. Then in the premium version and as female player we have the opportunity to tell him how we imagine the first meeting with him.
And then our favorite prisoner, Phil, comes and calls us to tell us that he’s been arrested for his connection to Michael Hanson and that we’re supposed to prove him innocent. Songs swallowed up the automatic announcement of the prison an important sentence of it.
Next, Jake finds the recording of the interrogation of Michael Hanson and Alan. Together with him we talk about it and find out that Jennifer was at the big festival in Duskwood, but had not come home at night.
Then we send the audio file to the group to show it to the others. They then explain to us how it had happened when Phil took over the Aurora and we ask for a connection between Michael and Phil.
Since we absolutely want to talk to Michael and we have his old address thanks to the file, Thomas and Jessy go to him.
Alan writes us again and we can tell this Jake again.
Next, Thomas and Jessy are at Michael’s house, sending pictures from there.
Lilly remembers that when she was a child, she used to walk with her grandpa there.
To the house belongs a bunker, but this is unfortunately empty.
Thomas and Jessy manage to get into the house and then find the creepy room with all the clues and pictures of the group, as well as the cards of Duskwood etc.
Then Thomas and Jessy start to search the house but we notice that the MWAF will probably come back soon.
And that’s what happens. Fortunately, Thomas can lure him into the basement by throwing a can and locking the door, and Thomas and Jessy can escape from the MWAF.
Jake tells us that he can now see the messages of Alan.
We briefly talk to Jessy and Thomas about how they are, then we get the call from the MWAF and the threat.
And so the episode ends.
So that wasn’t really short now, but I hope I didn’t forget anything and it was detailed enough. If you still have questions, you can of course ask them.🥰
Everyone else can of course add if I have forgotten something or if something is important!
I hope you like it and thank you for the question, dear Anon! On Episode 9!🥳🥰❤️
