Help a Queer Black Mother Move to a New Place!
URGENT REQUEST: $2980
RAISED: $0
A queer single mother is moving from one state to another to avoid a $600 rent hike. A SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR RENT HIKE! She booked movers but they’ve cancelled on her today. She and her daughter have to move THIS WEEK. The lowest estimate she got was for $3000 because it’s short notice. Right now we really have to lean on each other for survival as capitalism forces people out of their homes across the country.
As an abortion organizer she shows up everyday to fight for the reproductive rights that are being threatened right now. Let’s show up for her and take this one thing off her plate. Please give and share share share! Tag folks and post to groups that can help. We appreciate you and believe in the power of collective care.

it’s very funny how this fandom suddenly cares so much about sensitivity, meanwhile no one was up in arms about folks calling valeria shit like “cartel mommy” and simping for her. and, if you point this out, you get told that it’s “less important” or incomparable. way to tell victims of cartel violence that they don’t matter. y’all can’t preach about sensitivity and mindfulness while doing the exact opposite of that.
sensitivity is something that needed to be brought up a long time ago. people need to be mindful about the content they’re engaging with and producing. COD and its characters are based on very real issues and very real situations, mindfulness is needed for every single character.
seeing this only be brought up in the context of makarov and graves is honestly so, so frustrating. they’re not the only problematic characters that you need to consider when making content. western militaries like the US and UK are incredibly controversial and have devastated vulnerable people and their countries. price, ghost, soap, gaz— any member of the military, especially the special forces, is problematic. they’re not good people and should not be treated like saints, nor should they be idolized for what they do.
that all being said, the concepts of “be mindful and sensitive when making content” and “let people enjoy problematic media” can absolutely, 100%, co-exist. art is not meant to be a paradigm of moral goodness, it has always been a medium for people to explore things that are considered "taboo" in a safe space. there's a reason why "dead dove: do not eat" exists as a genre – with proper warning and precautions put in place, people can explore darker topics. for some, it's morbid interest. for others, it's a way of coping with trauma and experiences they've had in real life.
i want to repeat this just to make it very clear: be mindful and sensitive with the content you're producing. do not romanticize topics that should not be painted in a good light. don't minimize the impact of characters' actions or act like people are in the wrong for being uncomfortable with them. in this fandom especially, people treat atrocities like jokes because we're becoming desensitized to them. it's up to every individual to ensure that they don't forget how impactful a lot of this stuff is in real life. war is not a joke. terrorism is not a joke. people dying is not a joke. do not romanticize any of these things in your content, even if you're exploring the different sides of the people behind these things.
humanize the characters all you want. horrible people are still people, after all. humans are not one-dimensional beings. humanize them, but do not romanticize them.
be kind to victims, be sensitive, and be mindful about what you engage with. no one is perfect, no thing is perfect, but we can always do better. we need to approach every topic through this lens instead of picking and choosing who to support. everyone is deserving of it, everyone is entitled to basic respect. we don't need to compete and argue over who has it worse, we just need to be better across the board. support real victims. don't let media warp your perceptions of reality. be conscious of the content you make and consume.

I have no ties whatsoever to South Africa but watching the lawyers (also featuring an Irish woman bc the Irish understand too due to their history) makes me tear up and be so proud and the fact videos are being shared that went viral, also of soldiers exposing themselves while committing atrocities, this is in part the work of all of us (re)posting, sharing, spreading! Don’t tell me sharing posts does nothing! I know it seemed so defeating at times when the follower count and the story views dropped RAPIDLY but every single voice did matter in the end when they all came together ✊ South Africa’s legal team did amazing work

Help a Black nonbinary DV survivor parent this Juneteenth!!
For Juneteenth, I am committing to raising $100 this weekend for Q, a Black nonbinary parent, and their kids, who need rent raised for their new place, which they achieved through the reparations and labor of us white people and the Black organizers leading the way! This is important because Black MaGes (marginalized genders; basically anyone not a cis man) should be able to not just survive, but thrive!
This Sunday is Juneteenth, and every single one of us white people should be committing to ACTION this weekend that contributes to the well-being of Black MaGes and their children. Last year, we at Reparations Roundtable raised $3000 in one week for Juneteenth. This year we need to be equally as engaged. Just because Trump is out, doesn’t mean we can rest on our laurels and go back to brunch like Black MaGes aren’t still being given the reparations they are owed!
White friends, what are you doing this weekend to honor Juneteenth and acknowledge our role in the continued oppression of Black Americans? This is a great place to put your money where your mouth is this Juneteenth!
Please give what you can and let me know how much so I can keep track of the goal!!
Current standing: $130/3150

Please reblog to help spread the message to others in the community
Hey everyone! I feel that I am sharing prematurely since I have yet to upload my content and properly set everything up on ko-fi, but I do have a small following on Tumblr. I am a fan fic writer , and I also help provide writing and mental health tips and assistance for others.
I am doing this because I set a goal on my ko-fi page , I desperately need mental health care due to having kidney and cervical cancer , along with my bestfriend currently being in a coma.
If anyone is even able to donate a single dollar it would help tremendously .

Here's your reminder that a landlord can't ask for "proof" a dog is a service animal beyond asking "Is that a service animal?" and "What task is it trained to perform?" If they insist on anything else, they are violating ADA and can be sued.
In most states and localities, a landlord can't ask for "proof" of an ESA, either. At best they can ask if it is part of a treatment plan. I do suggest that you consult a doctor or therapist to see if they will write a statement of treatment (they generally won't without meeting the animal, but if the animal in question is a rat or guinea pig or lizard, they might with no meeting), because so many people are abusing the ESA rules. (EMENDATION: At least in my state, a landlord may request "proof of disability", eg a statement of legal disability or a note confirming disability from a medical practitioner. This is still not proof for the ESA.) A landlord who insists otherwise is also violating your rights, but I don't believe ESA "proof" is covered under federal law. Check with your state/locality. If no "proof" is required under state/local law, the landlord is violating ADA (and federal law) by asking you to pay pet rent or denying you housing, and can be sued. ESA law applies only to housing, not public access, though!
I don't know if landlords/management companies are doing this maliciously or just hoping they never get caught by someone who will take them to court, but they love to push the limits and are even paying for Facebook ads with blatant misinformation for each other, and they won't listen when told otherwise.

Everyday I check Bisan and Motaz's posts, the comments are full of people saying variations of, "we love you! you've changed the world! you'll go down in history!" and there's nothing wrong with that, necessarily. however, I wish people would think about what Palestinian reporters actually want from people when they post about what's happening. I can't imagine its a consolation to motaz or bisan or any Palestinian reporter trying to survive their people's genocide that they will go down in history. They didn't ask for any of this. It's not pity or consolation or premature eulogising about how they've made history that they want. Palestinians need whatever emotion you feel harnessed into action. Yes, leave a comment to boost Palestine content against these Zionist algorithms, but be mindful of the comments you're leaving. Be mindful that you aren't relegating living breathing people to the past. Be mindful of the superiority that might be underpinning your pity. And above all, prioritise ACTION. go to protests, call your politicians, sign petitions, donate if you can, keep paying attention, and demanding action. You serve no one with pity. You serve no one by acting like the future is already history. Anyone who cares about Palestine has a duty to do everything they can to help Palestinians gain the freedom to live their lives.
