I am curious to see how everyone thinks the Doctor Who Miniseries ended, since I've watched it twice now all the way through (second time with subtitles) and I am still mystified as to how it was "resolved"
view the results as they come in Here
Like all my other Doctor Who surveys, there's no time limit on this, so spread it around as much as you want amongst fans and friends without worrying about it ending.

I'm usually quite good at keeping my expectations down, and for the vast majority of the Chibs era have known Thasmin wasn't ever going to be a canonical thing. But they were so bloody close to each other in that scene, staring into each others eyes and finally having something of a, albeit brief, emotional opening-up, all whilst Chibs canonises The Doctor still likes girls as Thirteen (yeah, I know it was herself but still), I genuinely wondered for a moment whether he would actually go there and have them kiss.

I’ve been joking all season about ‘classic who level cliffhangers’ but swarm reaching out to kill the doctor at the end of e5 and e6 starting with the doc dodging him and running away really takes the cake.

Let’s talk about the tragedy of Karvanista and how much I feel for him, Karvanista was a companion, a part of a team -- and Karvanista is loyal to a fault but then the Doctor left them. Left Karvanista, left Gat, as its winding down to it.
The Doctor only took Lee.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thirteen and Karvanista are left in a cell together, and Thirteen comments how there’s enough time to talk now they’re alone. The Doctor planned it this way, and then the realization hits the Doctor and she asks, carefully:
“Were you my... companion?”
Karvanista carefully evades the question by bringing up an implant in his brain that would kill him in three seconds if he said anything about his past, about the Division.
The Doctor is aghast as she asks if the Division put it in his head.
Karvanista evades the question again and says instead:

“There was a time I’d do anything for you.”
Tumblr media
“But you left me.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It hits the Doctor right in the hearts because she doesn’t want to leave people behind not this her. It’s a poor excuse but she says, “I don’t have those memories.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I put the whole universe between us. And you come crashing back in, as if nothing had ever happened.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And really what does the Doctor say to that? There’s nothing she can do to assuage his hurt and anger. Like, now it makes sense why the over kill -- because Karvanista has the measure of the Doctor and how they’d escape certain death.
But also, he’s so hurt and angry about being left behind.
It takes a lot to break a Lupar’s love and loyalty, and she hurt them that way. Gat said they had a funeral for Lee, for the Doctor too, maybe.
There’s so much there there.

are people really all going why don’t we think of the poor daleks and cybermen on twitter?
also sontarans totally are on the doctor.
plus the doctor got angry with the general because the sontrans were leaving as she asked.
the sontarans in episode 6 were ready to destroy everything to be king of the trashland and set their sights on the other defenseless surviving races.
but of course let’s think of the cybermen and the daleks. also she didn’t kill them, she just didn’t rescue them. she did what bel said: have them all kill each other.

Technically speaking the Doctor didn’t kill the Cybermen and the Daleks, she just didn’t rescue them, which I mean... I don’t know if there’s any version of the Doctor post-Time War who would.
But the Sontarans are on the Doctor -- she did warn them though all back in episode 2, and this Doctor never repeats a warning twice.
And she used the Sontarans own plan against them -- very Seven of her-- but allowed Karvanista the cold comfort of destroying the Sontarans. Making good on his promise to avenge his people.
Also, as a former Companion she left behind but never remember, I think the Doctor allowed him this. She also knows, intimately, how Karvanista felt.
It’s hell of a club to be a member of.
Can we also talk about that tragedy? He would have followed her into hell and then she ran away with Lee and left them behind.
Left Gat behind too, as the implication plays out.
The Doctor’s time in the Division is so intriguing.
