My longest DW fic was 12k. Three of my AoS fics beat that with the longest (Reveal, the Shield Academy AU where they get superpowers) at 22k.
The wedding AU I'm writing is at 30k and I just started the chapter that will have the ceremony. Plus I'm already planning on writing the honeymoon (whether as a chapter, epilogue, one-shot follow-up, or a new multi-chaptered fic, tbd).

there’s a secret organisation called gallifrey, which is like this world’s version of a.i.m./a.r.g.u.s. etc & they’re real awful. tried to control the superpowered scene by manufacturing/staging fights/rivalries etc. they have many different projects, such as
project doctor: an attempt to make a perfect superhero through use of cloning. went wrong bc of like. many reasons lmao. they’ve all since escaped and are trying to build lives while keeping out of gallifrey’s reach. some of them have decided to become heroes/vigilantes, some of them have decided to be as normal as possible. some of them are Just Hermits. they all have different abilities, some more useful than others
project master: an attempt to make a perfect supervillain, also with cloning. went even more wrong. they were tagged with a corresponding doctor to be Their Archnemesis (& so have abilities counter to theirs), and most of them have decided this means they have to kill them. missy’s the main exception, mostly bc her & twelve decided they couldn’t really be bothered tbh
project tardis: an attempt to make a time machine. the time machine then gained sentience (well. more like the future version of herself went back in time to give the past version of herself sentience) & then broke herself & most of the other experiments out of gallifrey. can’t stay in human form for too long bc she’s too unstable. mostly just loops back & forth so she’s able to stick with all of the doctors at once
project moment: started after the mass escape. no one has any clue what this one is & the doctors are trying to find out (well. some of them are. mainly ten & eleven, who’ve decided They Are Heroes, & war, the ‘failed’ experiment)
unit - are meant to be neutral on all issues relating to human-super relations but like. are they though. trying to clean up gallifrey’s messes. also have clones but THEIR clones turned out fine get fukt gallifrey lmao
torchwood - were originally meant to be a human first organisation but were secretly infiltrated by jack harkness, who now has a full super team in the form of torchwood 3. what happened to the other torchwoods??? ehh don’t worry about it
the nightingale clinic - one of the few places that provides medical care to superpowered ppl, commonly understood to be a neutral zone. if ppl bring their fights in here then martha WILL beat their ass (she has invisibility and also the power of kick ur ass)
the stenza club - basically a superpowered fight club. none of the fighters are there by choice, including one pissed off thirteen :)
the bad wolf - an all powerful entity that’s maybe existed before time & matter were created no one’s super sure?? currently possessing/hosted by rose tyler. she’s actually dealing with this p well, but is on the run from gallifrey, who’ve wanted the bad wolf like since they found out about it
so there’s rory, a superhero who’s invulnerable to everything (except fire shh don’t tell anyone), & his archnemesis amy (she has the ability to see multiple timelines which yknow. not really a combat skill. she mostly just kicks ass) also they both have swords, bc they’re dramatic like that. they really hate each other, which makes things super complicated when their daughter from the future turns up one day on the run from a hopefully alternate timeline in which Lots Of Things Went Bad
one of the main reasons that Lots Of Things Go Bad is one clara oswald, who can (and might) destroy the world. she’s working on it it’s cool it’s fine

i don't :D i actually made em refs ages ago but i dont think ive explained their powers in detail
Techno doesn't really have a skill he can activate on command, but he gets stronger if he smells blood. like superman kinda strong. he can't control his actions much then, chat gets in control (btw chat is a separate being. they know shit techno doesn't and can be suppressed)
and Dream has enhanced senses! he sees, hears and smells better than an average person, but it gets annoying real fast. He's also stronger and faster than most but that's not part of his powers. he needs to block out the senses to function normally, that's what the mask is for. he wears sunglasses casually.

I have a lot of deadlines today so have some older doodles from when I had just fallen back into the fandom earlier this month

and then I hadn't slept in 24 hours and impulsively created this au sorta thing, idk who they're fighting but they sure are fighting something
the amount of time I hadn't slept also explains the quality of it lol

I have tried to read Homestuck like 4 times and i cant get past the begining so I'm just gonna read the fanfics and absorb the plot that way. It's actually quite fun to try and disect what's common fanon and what's actually canon. LOVE LETTERS IN DIGITAL INK - secret identity shenanigans with rose and kanaya. rose runs a blog where she talks about her huge crush on the new next door neighbor. she does not know said neighbor follows that blog and has had a celebrity crush on her for forever.
FREE KARKAT (NO SERIOUSLY HE'S ASKING NICELY) - i just think its cute. trolls are mermaids au, the strilondes all live together, includes dave going through a sexuality crisis and karkat going through a quadrant crisis, as all davekat should.
THIRTEEN AND A HALF MIXTAPES - really cute human au with a mystery and a road trip scavenger hunt! karkat steals into the city with his friend nepeta to fulfill the mixtape mystery tradition. they make lots of friends who join their journey along the way, and supposedly the guy at the end of the mixtapes wants to meet karkat really badly.
DOC SCRATCH'S SCHOOL FOR SUPERNATURALLY GIFTED ADOLESCENTS - superpowered kid school au. not much more even needs to be said about this. it's pretty fun and very cute though, and the story itself is pretty brilliant.
ALTERNATE UNIVERSE - magic school! only the magic is science and every mythological creature is real and demons are on earth. this is like if percy jackson and simon snow fused and tried really hard to masquerade as a college au. i just finished this fic and i absolutely loved it.
DAYVHE'S BROKEN DIAMOND CLUB - instead of being all-human this one is all-troll! if you want to know anything about trolls this fic is fucking good for that (although if you dont already know shit about trolls it might take a sec to pick up). this fic just Keeps Going but i promise its so fun and so worth it.
DETECTIVE PONY - the most well done dirk strider character study ever written. this fic also got canonized by the homestuck crew later. the basic premise of this story is that it is a gift written by dirk strider for his friend jane on her birthday-- he is modifying the preexisting novel pony pals detective pony. explanation of that here. it's a fantastic read.
THE FOOTSTEPS - i read this one years ago and it made me sob a lot. i should disclaim that the main character was actually a piece of shit in canon so this is very much an au.

wow so secret relationship+character in peril/it's not you, it's my enemies just screams superhero! au to me so here we go...
john smith has superpowers, maybe something similar to what tim in 'about time' had, i.e; he can choose to transport himself back in time to certain events in his life to change things---which is what he employs frequently to, you know, save the world and stuff
he's in a relationship with rose, and she's the only person who knows about his powers, so they have to keep their association on the down-low for both of their sakes
except, [insert 'dw villain who's known the doctor for a while and the doctor's wronged them in some way and he never suspects them' here] figures it out somehow and they have an evil plan™, and rose ends up dead :(
so now in order to save her, he has to transport himself back in time to whenever he wronged said enemy (which let's say...was at the same time he first met rose,) and fix whatever it was that needed fixing, and when he gets back to the present, rose is alive
however, she doesn't know him, bc now, she's never met him and he thinks she's better off this way; she won't be in constant danger anymore bc it's not her....it's his enemies, lmao
obviously this doesn't work and they do meet under different circumstances and fall in love again 🥰

TUA Crossovers That Have Gripped Me

It all started with an accidental jump.
At least, Five thinks it did.
Night drawing in and heavy rain lingering on the horizon, Five has little idea what he and Claire were doing before finding themselves lost in a dark, autumnal forest. There are no houses to be seen, no roads to follow, no signs or paths or hints of civilisation that could steer them in the right direction, just an endless sea of creaking trees and his niece, who seems to be enjoying their impromptu adventure.
Five needs to get her home. However, escaping the woods and returning to his family might be a little harder than he initially thinks.
An Unexpected Future by aseies (BNHA/TUA)
“I’m sure you’re looking forward to finding a way back to your own time as soon as possible,” Nedzu said. “I want you to know that U.A. will do everything in its power to help you achieve that goal. Time travel is a complicated equation to solve, but I’m sure if we put our heads together we’ll come up with something!”
Five raised a skeptical eyebrow. “And you’re just going to do that out of the goodness of your heart? I’m not even old enough for high school yet.”
“Well, we’re all heroes for a reason, no? What good are we if we can’t help a single child in need?” Nedzu pointed out with a pleasantly neutral smile as he sipped his tea.

“I don’t know,” he said, voice wavering. “I don’t know who these people are.”
(Self indulgent au where Five makes a mistake when teleporting the seven and lands them in the Avengers’ dimension. Instead of telling them straight up what was happening, they fake amnesia. Results vary.)

He can practically hear Diego roll his eyes. “The manor,” he says, sounding like he’s talking through clenched teeth. “You had the visions, you know –”
“Yes,” Klaus says, cutting him off sharply. “Yes, I saw that delightful young boy get riddled with bullets, and then saw him gasp back to life, so cliché, I thought, why not give him an interesting rebirth, like getting eaten by a shark, or run over by a lawn mower, or electrocuted or something –”
“Klaus,” Diego bites out. “We have to get him. He’s one of us now.”
Klaus sighs, sags forwards until his forehead is leaning against the wall. “Yeah, yeah,” he says. “I know. I’ll be there."

What are all the Doctors' and Masters' superpowers anyway?
@resting-meme-face okay so i still haven't seen most of classic dw so! here's some modern ones lmao
war was a ‘failed’ experiment, and wasn’t officially counted with the others. he doesn’t technically have abilities, but instead has enhanced combat traits: instant weapon proficiency, increased reflexes & stamina, increased strength & speed etc. the reason he was considered a failure is bc none of those things could be detected by the scientists, and they assumed he was powerless
yana was created at the same time as war, but bc of war’s ‘lack of abilities’ he wasn’t meant to be given anything either. instead he’s ended up with a very high form of super intelligence
nine has pyrokinesis - fire creation & manipulation. his proposed master pair would’ve have cryokinesis (ie the same but with ice), but the scientists eventually decided that a pyrokinetic hero would be too unstable & too difficult to control. he still struggles with feelings of inadequacy, self disgust etc, but rose offered to take away his abilities & he refused. they’re part of him, and he’s trying to be more comfortable with himself. he’s not a hero at all and doesn’t really want to be. he works in a soup kitchen. he helps out ppl if they ask for it though
ten has psychic energy manipulation & is able to construct things such as psychic blasts & shields, & is also naturally resistant to mental attacks. his abilities are pretty taxing energy wise, and he has a tendency to over exert himself. he can ‘borrow’ other people’s psychic energy, but a) if he takes it all then they’ll die b) if he takes too much then his control slips & he either ends up trapped in their mental space until he gains control again or he’ll take all of their energy. he’s the most superhero-like of the bunch
saxon obviously has mind control & memory alteration. it’s not permanent, and the person needs to be in semi regular content with him for it to stick. he can’t affect ten
eleven has omnilingualism - the ability to understand every language (they quickly realised that they couldn’t really make a pair for this, & left him alone). for years he was resentful of his siblings’ ‘cool’ abilities & thought they always looked down on him for not having anything useful. it took him a very long time to realise that they resented him bc he had non intrusive/non painful/normal abilities. he still wants to be a hero in some way (really if he wanted to help he’d like. volunteer as an interpreter in a hospital or in immigration services or smth) so he’s kind of amy’s sidekick?? ye she’s a villain but ehh she’s cool it’s cool
twelve has a very limited control over local time. basically he can create short time loops (around an hour long; less if he brings someone through the loops with him, and he can only loop until he runs out of energy), allowing him the chance to repeat a situation until he succeeds, as well as freezing time (for a few hours of his relative time). they take a lot of energy to use, and he hates them tbh
missy has reanimation - she can control dead bodies and give them a small form of sentience (it’s zombies she makes zombies) by rewinding them to just before they died. it’s terrifying. it doesn’t last long & depends on how many she’s controlling + how much energy she has. she’s probably the most powerful of the masters, but (though she has never and will never tell anyone this) she feels how the person died. she’s just. it’s tiring and it hurts and she feels bad for them and she hates it
thirteen & o have the same root powers, but they manifest in slightly different ways. when thirteen’s close to someone she feels their fear, & when she touches someone she sees their worst fears as if it’s happening to her. thirteen tends to switch between avoiding all touch, and purposely seeking out touch bc ‘it’s what she deserves’. she can’t use her powers to make people scared, but she can use what they tell her to verbally increase their fear. which she does. a lot
when o touches someone he can forces them to see their fears, & if thirteen & o touch they tend to end up getting stuck in a feedback loop. if o isn’t in the vicinity of thirteen, then he physically cannot feel fear. he both hates and loves being near to her, bc it’s the only time he feels alive
tentoo & donna are psychically linked. they’re both technically omniscient, but their knowledge is split between them, & only makes sense to them and others when both halves are together as the doctordonna. neither of them can really survive as this half life, so they’ve gotta figure out a way to either figure out a way to get rid of their abilities or to fix it so that only one of them has both halves. there’s also the fear that they might one day merge, killing them both & creating a new being?? they’re working on it it’ll probably be fine
