IN THIS ISSUE -- WOLVERINE BREAKS OUT OF "SAURON'S BASEMENT."
PIC INFO: Spotlight on cover art to a Savage Land X-travaganza --"Wolverine" Vol. 2 #71. July, 1993. Marvel Comics. Artwork by Dwayne Turner & Klaus Janson.
""Don't ruffle no feathers, he said. "Don't make no waves..." Easy for him to say. He's snug in his anti-grav barca-lounger back in Salem Center -- an' in stuck in Sauron's basement while his barbarian buddies stampede a herd o' dinosaurs down on my face. This is after Sauron hamstrings me, throws me in this fire-chasm and buries me in boulders! Good thing my mutant healin' power is still workin' at all -- even in low gear, it sure does help in the damage control department."
-- WOLVERINE, Earth-616 (story/script by Larry Hama)

Let's take a moment to acknowledge and maybe even appreciate Black Cat's late 80s redesign. This is from a brief era where Doctor Strange had inadvertantly removed her bad luck powers. It's revealed in this issue she has new cat-based powers like superhuman agility, reflexes, retractable claws, and infrared vision.
This change short lived.
