The difference between how men and women behave in society when it comes to dating is that women may have a dream man they fantasy about but they are also willing to date people who don't check off every box for them whereas men feel entitled to obtaining their dream woman and will settle for nothing less.
Not only is it unrealistic to go into dating with a preordained checklist and refuse to compromise on any of the qualities listed on it, it's also childish and immature emotionally. Like I don't mean this as an insult but rather as a diagnosis.
Every woman I know starts dating and is willing to let of of superficial preferences in order to find a genuine connection but few men are willing to accept less than what they believe they "deserve."
Like these dating interviews where misogynists are like "what's your dream man?" And then they take that answer as "see women admit they are looking for "chads" only!!!! I told you guys" no what you "discovered" is that women have preferences, like everyone else.
It's taboo to say this but it shouldn't be but everyone "settles" to some degree. You will not find a partner where every single quality they have is your individual preference, because humans are flawed creatures. We are not perfect and we don't realize that every "good" quality a person has reflects a "bad" quality they have as well.
Like I am very compassionate and empathetic to my friends because I am highly impatient + take steps to correct that about myself in my actions and behaviors. I am very intelligent because I am highly ambitious and competitive and view knowledge as the best weapon you can have in this world. It's all a give and take in this world, we are the sum of our good and bad experiences in life and as women grow up, we realize this about dating.
We realize that prince charming doesn't exist in real life, but men still look for Cinderella even though she's fictional too and they put their inflexibility to compromise on women because they think we behave the way they do, even when we tell them we don't.
Like, every single misogynist is always like "women lie about not needing a man to be 6 feet tall because when you ask them what their dream man looks like, they say 6 feet tall!!!" And it's like yeah, because you asked for their DREAM man, not their ex or current partner.
We all have preferences, my dream man has green eyes and is built like Dylan Obrien but the love of my life doesn't have either of these qualities. That doesn't mean I don't love my partner, it just means we all have different ideals in our minds that society and culture have influenced us to want, even if those things are shallow or not realistic. Because my dream man is also kind, empathetic, caring, supportive, funny, ambitious, a socialist, etc etc and I can afford to let go of the superficial preferences for all these other boxes he ticks, you know?
Like, also, even if we're talking about just looks wise right, what I find most attractive is what I would list as my dream man but that doesn't mean I'm ONLY attracted that very specific fantasy, right? Like if you ask for my dream man in terms of appearance, obviously I'm going to list the qualities I find MOST attractive. That doesn't mean other qualities don't turn me on or I don't find other eye colors attractive (I love brown, blue, Grey, hazel, Amber, etc colors but green is my favorite, I'd still sleep with blue eyed or brown eyed man right. Same is true for all my physical preferences). But like men seem to think listing preferences is the same thing as listing deal-breakers.
If these men asked those same women what are you dating deal-breakers for example, they'd get very different responses. Because like idk they're different concepts, you feel ?
I just find men to have a weird culture around dating where they project their thoughts onto women as justification for abusing them. It's wild.

(Dylan x Original Character)
Part One.
Dylan’s POV.
While sitting on my bed re-watching Teen Wolf on Netflix, the series that made me visible to people, the series that made me realize my talent, the series where I met friends who almost treats me like a part of their family, and most importantly, the series where I met the love of my life, Kayla Elizabeth Hale-O’Brien.
Kayla and I met on the Teen Wolf set on February 1, 2010, the first day of filming. We became fast friends. When I first saw her, it was like falling in love at first sight. Until I met her, I didn’t believe in that kind of cliché because it is, after all, a cliché. But then I saw her. She was officially a part of the Teen Wolf production staff, and she was responsible for my on-screen appearance, so she was almost always present. I stated my feelings for her till I couldn’t take it any longer, and she admitted that she had felt the same way ever since she first lay eyes on me, but had been afraid to admit it because she was afraid of being rejected. My heart would have sunk if I hadn’t disclosed to her about my affections for her on that day.
Afterwards, we began to engage in the kind of secret relationship that most actors engage in when they don’t want to be rumored, but something compelled me to speak out about my relationship with her in public because I am literally head over heels in love with her and I want everyone to know, because for the love of God, she was my first girlfriend and my first love. I didn’t fight the temptation because, in a previous interview, I had spoken candidly about my dating issues. And it felt nice. It was comforting to know that the general public is aware of my relationship with the woman I love.
And then, in a split second, we were married on the very day we met for the first time. I knew the moment I laid eyes on her that she was going to be standing next to me at the altar, and that she was going to be the mother of my future children. I realized what true love was the first moment I laid eyes on her.
11 years have passed, and I’m still head over heels in love with her. Even though she’s mine, I can’t stop falling in love with her.
I couldn’t help but smile at the thought of it. Just how fast the night really changes.
I was about to watch another episode when I heard the door open and saw a little girl, my five-year-old toddler.
“Daddy,” she called.
“Hey, baby, something wrong?” I immediately put my laptop aside and sit to a proper sitting position. “You okay? Come here.”
The brunette-haired toddler then walked in front of me.
“Can I sleep here with you?” she muttered.
She’s undoubtedly still afraid of being alone in her room at night. Her mama is out of town today, so she miss Kayla’s habit of lulling her into a deep slumber in her own bed. As friends since Teen Wolf, Holland and Crystal wanted to take my wife away from me for a morning and afternoon hangout, and I accepted even though it would take many hours.
“Of course, baby.” I smiled and I gladly picked her up to put her on bed, pulling a blanket over her.
“Hey, where’s your teddy bear? You always hug it when you’re sleeping.” I asked as I stroke her hair lovingly.
She has this teddy bear that my bestfriend, Tyler, got her when she was born, and she hasn’t been able to take her hands off of that teddy bear since then.
“I can just hug you, Daddy.” She replied.
What a sweet human being.
With my heart throbbing with love, I simply smiled and went undercovers with her, cuddling her and letting her know how much love her.
“Love you, Abby.” I said.
“Love you too, Daddy,” she replied and yawned.
And with that, I kissed her forehead and let her fall asleep on my chest.
Kayla’s POV.
I instantly put out my keys to enter my house when Crystal and Holland dropped me off, knowing that I already miss my husband and child, even if I’d only been gone for six hours. Besides, it’s almost 7 p.m., and I haven’t cooked yet; they’re surely hungry by now.
Honestly, I’d rather stay at home with Dylan in bed and play with Abby, but Holland called and said she missed Crystal and I and that we should get together. I was hesitant at first, but decided to go ahead and do it because I missed hanging out with them too.
After entering the house, I was a little surprised to see Dylan not there, because he’s usually the one who sits on the couch and watches The Mets, roaring with delight everytime they score a run.
“Babe? I’m home.” I yelled.
As soon as I didn’t get an answer, I went upstairs and opened the door to our bedroom. When I opened the door, I found my daughter curled up on her father’s chest. Even the fact that they were sleeping makes my heart throb with love for them. Fuck this hormones.
I smiled and turned the lights back off again. I don’t want to wake them just yet; they look as serene as the wind, and I’m not about to interfere with that. Instead, I walked downstairs to the kitchen and began preparing Dylan’s favorite meal, chicken cutlets with broccoli and rice pilaf. I think Abby received it from her father, because she enjoys it as much as he does.
Dylan’s POV.
When I woke up, I noticed some arms wrapped around my waist, and it was my daughter. Oh, well, I suppose we both fell asleep at this point.
Although I long to cuddle up with my daughter, I have yet to see Kayla; she is, after all, still not here, I guess. Consequently, I carefully moved Abby’s arms around me, and by carefully, I meant extremely delicately, because I didn’t want to wake her up in the middle of her sleep. She hates it. Then, after properly standing up, I threw the blanket back over her shoulders and planted a kiss on her forehead, smiling.
Eventually, I left the bedroom, still wearing my blue checkered pajamas and gray t-shirt. I was immediately drawn in by the smell of someone cooking, and it was something that I knew I would enjoy eating very much. My nose can already tell that these are chicken cutlets, even without looking at them.
When I got to the kitchen, I noticed a brunette woman with her hair in a bun and wearing a nightgown – it was my wife.
My smile couldn’t be suppressed as I silently walked towards her, wrapping my arms around her waist, which caused her to flinch a little bit.
“Oh, God, baby, you scared me.” Kayla laughed a little, turning around to see me, my hands still on her waist.
“Aw, sorry, didn’t mean to scare you.” I replied and stared at her lips briefly before kissing it. We pulled back and chuckled a little. “So, how are my babies?” I asked as I kneeled and moved my palm to her belly to caress it softly as I look at her.
That’s right. She’s carrying my child in her womb. We haven’t revealed the gender yet since we wanted to keep it a surprise for ourselves. She’s been pregnant for seven months, and in two months, I’ll finally meet the person I’ve been looking forward to meeting.
Being pregnant really suits her though. She looks hella sexy carrying my child.
“Well, your other baby here was doing nothing but kicking when Crystal took us out to eat.” She replied, putting her hand on her bump besides mine. “I think the baby’s missing his/her daddy’s touch and morning kisses.”
“Oh, is that so? You missed Daddy?” I talked to her bump. “I guess I should make it up to you then.” I smiled and started kissing her belly, chuckling softly until we felt her kick.
“I think that’s his/her own way of saying “I love you, Daddy.”” Kayla said.
“Well, I love you more, and I can’t wait to see you, my love.” I said, placing a kiss on her bump once more.
Even the notion of seeing my second child makes my heart melt. This is exactly how I felt when Kayla announced that she was pregnant with our Abbigail. I couldn’t have been happier the moment I knew Abby was growing within Kayla’s tummy, and I still feel the same way about our second child.
“Okay, that’s enough, I should go back to cooking if you wanna eat your favorite.” Kayla smiled. “Don’t worry, this won’t take long.”
“Okay,” I stood up and kissed her lips briefly and pulled away. “Wait, one more.” I added and kissed her again before pulling away, still unsatisfied. “Okay, again.” I laughed a little and kissed her again. “Damn, woman. I don’t think I could ever get enough of you.”
“Cute. Now shooo, I’m still cooking,” she said and I just rolled my eyes but couldn’t help a smile.
Kayla’s POV.
I set the meals on the table when I finished cooking them, and I couldn’t help but smile when I saw Dylan’s reaction when he started eating. When it comes to his favorite things, he’s always like this.
“My God, mmm, this is so good.” Dylan said with his mouth full.
“I know,” I replied.
“God, Kayla, you’re really the best.”
“Yeah, there’s really no time for sappiness right now, babe.”
“There is too. You’re just freaking good. I love you so freaking much.” He said.
I just smiled in response.
“So, what were you two doing before I got home? Abby seems exhausted.” I asked as we eat.
“Well, after you left the house, she immediately got bored and asked me to go in her room so that we can play tea party with Mr. Bear, the usual.” He replied that made me smile. “After that, I went back to bed and re-watched season 3 of Teen Wolf, at which time I realized that I was frickin’ amazing. Void Stiles was, and continues to be, the coolest. Oh, and I also spent some time on Twitter watching fan edits. It’s just amusing because even though I’m no longer active in the outside world, they still continue to support me,” he grinned. “And then, Abby suddenly came up to our room asking if she can sleep there. She probably couldn’t sleep without you around.”
Since finding out I was pregnant with Abby, Dylan has taken a break from acting and from the outside world. He has also taken a break from his Twitter account, he has taken a break from everything else. He said that he needs to devote his time to our family, which is why he is rejecting down offers for projects every time someone writes him with an offer. I don’t think he’s taking a break anymore; it’s almost as if he’s decided to retire from acting for good.
“I guess you two really had fun, huh.” I chuckled softly.
“Oh, you bet we had. She’s fun to play with and she’s a very calm person unlike those other spoiled brats out there.” Dylan said. “You really raised her well.”
“Hey, we raised her together, we raised her well.” I said and he couldn’t help but smile.
“We sure did.”
After we finished eating, I immediately placed our plates in the sink so that I could wash them and then go to bed.
“Babe, you look tired,” Dylan said. “Why don’t you just go upstairs and sleep, I’ll take care of the dishes, hmm?”
“You sure?” I asked.
“Yeah. You need to rest.” He replied, moving one of his hands to my belly.
“All right.” I replied. He smiled, putting a hand behind my head to kiss my forehead.
Just as I was about to leave the kitchen, a notion occurred to me.
“Hey, Dyl?” as I turned to face him, I took a few steps forward.
“Mmm?” he hummed, looking at me as he turned the faucet off.
“What are your thoughts on resuming your acting career?” I asked.
He appeared to be fairly taken aback by what I said, judging by the fact that he stopped cleaning the dishes.
“Why?” he asked, facing me.
“I saw how your eyes glowed in the dim light of the moment. When I asked as to how your day had gone, you responded by exclaiming how fantastic you were back then. You love acting,” I said. “It’s been four years, Dylan.”
“Kayla, we already have Abby and the other one coming up, I don’t want anyone or anything to take away my time from them or from you. I want to be by their side at all times. I want our children to know that their father will always be there for them, no matter what happens. I want to watch them grow up.”
He’s such a great dad that it even hurts sometimes.
“And they will know that,” I said.
“Believe me when I say that being back in the business has a number of downsides. Since meeting you, Kayla, I’ve had the distinct impression that I don’t want to go anywhere when you’re not around. That may come across as sappy as hell, but I’m telling the truth.” Dylan replied. “I don’t wanna be busy by something else.”
“Even if it’s the career you love? Babe, I want you to be happy, I love seeing you happy.”
“And I am happy. I’m happy with the family I’m building with you. I don’t think I could get more happier than I am now, Kaylz,” Dylan said.
“But you could,” I respond. “I remember the first time seeing you on set of Teen Wolf and you were practically telling every person that you know that you’re gonna be seen on TV. You seemed so joyful, and I honestly believe I have never encountered a man who was more passionate about his work. I also recall how passionate you were about your Maze Runner series, and how you expressed delight that people were beginning to get to know you better. You were so thrilled that day that you burst into tears. Those were the moments when I realized how much you enjoy reading scripts and bringing those words to life. Go back to acting, Dyl.”
As I tried to figure out what he was actually feeling, I just smiled at him the entire time. Then, as he got further closer to me, he cupped my cheeks with his bare hands, and I felt his thumb lightly caressing each cheek.
“How are you real?” he asked. “Most people would just prefer to get their husbands locked up to take care of their children.”
“But I’m not most people. Watch it, O’Brien.”
He just laughed softly in response. He knows how I hate being compared to other people so much.
He then moved his hands from my cheek back to my waist.
“You really know me damn well, Kayla, it scares me sometimes.” Dylan said and I couldn’t help but laugh a little. “You’re right. I do miss acting, especially the part where you meet new friends and messing up lines too is one, ‘cause it’s hilarious sometimes.”
“But, I don’t want to leave you here alone, especially with two kids and chores, I don’t want to- I don’t know, it seems like I’m running away from my responsibility as a father and a husband.”
What a cutie.
“God, Dyl, you aren’t running away from your responsibility, you simply just miss acting. And even if you try to run away, you wouldn’t, ‘cause I would definitely kill you without any trace,” I joked.
“But, Kaylz-”
“Babe, stop. Seriously. Do acting again. End of the argument,” I said. “It’s not an order, I’m just trying to speak up for your heart.”
And all of a sudden he hugged me.
“I love you, do you know that?” he asked.
“After you left your career for our family? I might have a little knowledge about that.” I replied.
I couldn’t see his face because it was hidden behind my neck, but I could tell he was smiling.
“Thank you, babe. Not just now, but for all the words you say that I always wanted to hear. You’re literally the best,” Dylan said as he look at me again.
“There you go again with your sappiness. Weird, but I love it.” I replied that made him smile. “So, is that official? You gonna go back now?”
“Yes. And I promise, I wouldn’t do any kissing scenes with someone if there is, I would just use my dead ringer to do it.”
“You better wouldn’t,” I joked. “Don’t like to share you with anyone.”
“Yes, Mrs. O’Brien, I got your word. This lips is only for you.”
“Good.”
“Let’s seal it then, yeah?”
I simply nodded and smiled, to which he responded by kissing me. As he kisses me, I can almost taste the smile that has been captured in his lips. So supple and delicate.
Then, he pulled away.
“Thank you so much, Kayla. Thank you for everything.” Dylan said before he kissed my forehead.
• 2 months later •
“Oh, my God! No way!” I suddenly heard an excited masculine voice coming from the kitchen – obviously Dylan.
“What is it?” I yelled, sitting up on the couch with my cardigan around me and a blanket wrapped around my waist.
We didn’t get an answer, but we did hear footsteps. When Abby, who was playing on the floor with her toys while watching television, looked at me with a puzzled expression, wondering what was going on, I gave her the same expression.
Then I noticed Dylan racing through the living room, his face beaming with delight.
“Babe, what is going-”
“Guess what?” Dylan asked and I simply raised an eyebrow. “I got the part.”
“You got the what? What are you talking abo- holy shit!” I cussed, not even aware that our daughter’s listening. “Oh, my God, you got the part!”
“That’s what I said!”
“Dyl, you have like two movies and a short film coming out a couple months from now, that’s amazing!”
See, when I told Dylan to get back into acting, he instantly told her sister Julia about it, and she was thrilled to hear it. It was her sister who broke the news to her parents and posted it on social media, which made Dylan’s followers weep and sigh in anticipation of seeing him again. Of course, Dylan was delighted to learn that they’ve been there for him even though he’s been away for so long.
He auditioned for Richie in “The Outfit” and Colin in “Not Okay” a week ago, and now he has both roles, which is amazing. He’s such a great actor. Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well” short film will also feature him, and we both gasped when we saw the email about it because who wouldn’t? Taylor Swift is one of our favorite singers. There were some kissing sequences in his brief reading of the screenplay, and he was hesitant to accept the job because of it. I just laughed and said it’s fine, as long as he doesn’t mean it. That’s what performers do, after all. I think all the movies here in U.S.A has a kissing scene. What a country.
“I know! Oh, my God! There’s so many projects going on and it feels really nice to be back.”
I smiled. “I’m so happy for you, babe. I know you don’t need my words anymore to tell you’d nail those roles, but you’re gonna do great. Absolutely great. You’re my best actor.”
He then kneeled on the floor and grab my hands as he look at me.
“Hey, I'm always gonna need my number one fan’s words. Your kind of words. No matter how many motivations are around me, you’re still the one I’m going to keep looking for.” Dylan said.
“Thank you, Kaylz. Literally. God, I love you so much,” he said as he’s caressing my bump softly, giving it a kiss right after.
Then, we heard a clapping noise.
“Congratulations, Daddy!” Abby grinned as she look at her father. “You’re the best!”
“Aw, that’s so sweet.” Dylan smile, sitting on the floor and placing Abby on his lap. “Thank you, baby.”
Following that, we enjoyed a short period of celebration with just the three of us. Since Dylan has a slew of ongoing projects, we need to take the time to celebrate as a family.
“Hey, you already look tired. How ‘bout I’ll take you upstairs? Hmm?” Dylan asked as he’s cupping my cheek.
I just nod since I’m really exhausted. After Dylan assisted me in getting into bed, he left the room for a brief moment to check on Abby, who had fallen asleep first and needed to be carried to her room by Dylan.
After some time had passed, he returned to the room, his gaze finding mine, which had been waiting for him. I simply cannot sleep without him snuggling me. It’s uncomfortable. He then sat alongside me as I moved closer to him, his arm around my shoulder.
“Babe...” I heard him call.
“Mmm?” I hummed with my eyes closed.
“Y’know, we don’t have a name for him or her yet.” Dylan replied, referring to our baby as he reached his palm to my belly to caress it gently.
We haven’t decided on a specific name for our child yet because we agreed to talk about it once I’m already in my due month, which will make it more thrilling.
“You’re right. Do you have any name ideas yet?” I asked, looking up at him.
“I kind of do,” he replied. “If it’s a boy, I want to name him Stiles.”
“Stiles?”
“Yeah. Aside from that really is a rare and an awesome name, that’s also the name of my character from where all this started. Stiles.”
I love how he still haven’t forgotten where everything started. It’s as though he treasures everything, and that’s one of the things I admire about him.
“Okay. Let’s name him Stiles if it’s a boy.” I agreed. He grinned in response as he grabs my hand, playing with my knuckles as we talk.
“How ‘bout you? Do you have any other name idea?”
“If it’s a girl, I was thinking, I’d like to name her Stella. I don’t know, but I just really love that name for some unknown reasons.”
“Stella? It’s pretty. I love it. Stiles and Stella. Wow, that’s actually lovely.”
I remember the time we thought about Abby’s name which was a difficult decision because it was our first child and we weren’t sure if the name we choose would suit her. We weren’t sure. But, in the end, we settled on Eliza Abbigail. Dylan had actually thought about her given name, and he said that he derived it from my middle name “Elizabeth,” which was rather adorable.
“It is, but I think this baby deserves a middle name,” I replied.
“Like what?”
“Rhodes.” I answered.
It’s Dylan’s middle name that he got from his mother’s middle name.
“Rhodes? My middle name?”
“Yeah. It sounds good and I like it. I want to keep it a cycle.” I replied. “Stiles Rhodes O’Brien or Stella Rhodes O’Brien.”
When I looked up, I saw him smiling, and he kissed the top of my head with affection.
“I love it.”
I just smiled at him in response. I didn’t hesitate as he lifted my chin up slightly to offer me a kiss on the lips.
“I’m so excited to meet him or her,” he said.
“Me too, baby. Me too.”
We both dozed off shortly after that.
It was just a few hours later that I was awakened by an unexplained gush of fluid that I couldn’t stop. I was going to move, when I realized I was spooning Dylan with our fingers interlocked.
I had the sensation that I was going to wet myself, but it wasn’t a gush like you see in movies or on television. In fact, I’m not even sure if I just wet myself or if my water literally broke just now. In the midst of attempting to pull my hand away from Dylan’s grasp in order to sit up, I felt a sharp contraction, which caused me to squeeze Dylan’s hand as my other hand grasped his arm that was wrapped around me.
I was aware of his movement and realized he was already awake.
“Babe, you okay? Something wrong? What’s happening?” he asked with his tired voice.
I can feel myself getting hot as beads of sweat begin to gather on my brow and travel down my cheeks and down my face. What’s happening?! I locked my gaze on him and delivered a look that I’d delivered countless times before, but this time it was much more deadly than before. “My water just broke!”
Dylan’s eyes widen and they trail down to my shorts as he sees a big wet spot on the center of my pants that is also seeping through the sheets. “What?!”
“I’m having a baby right now...” I took short breaths to calm myself down.
“Fuck, right now?!”
“YES! Get your car keys and take me to the fucking hospital!” I exclaimed losing my patience, not bothering to calm my anger down on him.
“Shit, okay, okay.” He flinched while jumping off the bed, running to the closet, grabbing his black converse, slipping them on. He takes one of my sweaters from a hanger and a pair of shoes, running back to the bed. “Okay, can you stand?”
I nodded my head slowly, swinging my legs around the bed deliberately not wanting my stomach to hurt more. But that didn’t work since another contraction hit my stomach. “Ahh!” I stopped over in agony, clutching my stomach as tears began to well up in my eyes.
“Kaylz, it’s okay, let me help you.” Dylan frowned as he kneeled on the ground, picked up my ankle, and slipped one black moccasin onto my foot before repeating the process with the other. Slowly, he rises up and reaches out his hands, taking my arms and carefully pulling me up till my feet are touching the carpet. “There you go... now, let me put this on you.” He walks behind me and assists me in tucking my arms into the jacket sleeves and resting the sweater on me.
He goes back in front and tightens the sweater on me. He goes to the dresser and grabs the keys and wallet next to the T.V and rushes back to me, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
“Okay, come on.”
He helped me walk outside our bedroom and helped me take smaller steps as we got down the long stairs. After that, we proceed through the living room on our way to the front door. I felt another contraction as he was about to open the door, causing me to halt walking and double over once more. “Oh God!”
Dylan stops and looks at me with a worried look on his face. “Don’t worry, baby, we’re going to make it.” He said, pulling me closer to his body as he turns the knob to the right and opens the door. We step out of the house and he closes the door, locking the doorknob.
We walk to his convertible outside the driveway, I noticed Dylan taking his phone out of his pocket and dials a number. He rests the phone against his ear once we stopped at the passenger door.
“Julia? ... I’m sorry I woke you up, but Kayla is going into labor. Tell Mom and Dad. Abby’s in her room sleeping, come quick.” Dylan said panicking as he’s calling his sister. He opens the passenger door and helps me get inside the car, buckling the seatbelt for me. “No, I am not kidding! Kayla is having contractions already and I’m taking her to the hospital right now.” He kisses my cheek and steps back closing my door. He rushes around the car and opens his side of the door, getting inside, slamming the door at the process. “Yeah, I’m taking her over there right now, just meet us there...” there was a long pause. “... All right, I’ll see you soon. Be careful.” He hangs up the phone and throws it in the cup holder, then he sticks the key in the ignition making it come alive.
I pant short breaths feeling sweat all over my body in this heat. “What did your sister say...?” I asked quietly.
“She’s on her way here to look after Abby and she’s calling your parents to come to the hospital.” He answered, looking both ways on the road and driving backwards from the driveway. “Don’t worry, just keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll get there in no time.” His hand moves the gear shift on Drive and drives out of the neighborhood at full speed.
Oh God, I hope he’s right by how fast he’s driving!

WITH BENEFITS
PART ONE - PART TWO - PART THREE
Pairing : Stiles Stilinski x Reader
Warnings : Smut-like content, 18+ content, enemies to lovers, cursing.
Concept : College can change a lot of things. Some of those things might even be the status of your friendship. At least, that’s what happened with Stiles and Y/N.
Tumblr media
Lydia and Kira burst into my apartment to find me in a pink faux leather mini skirt and a lace corset top. “Hey, gorgeous!” Lydia chimed, looking me up and down. “Hi,” I hum back. “Grab anything from the fridge.” The two nod and snatch something out as I finish fixing my hair in the mirror. Once I’m done, I walk over to sit next to them. “So…” Lydia begins. I look at her for a moment, before turning to look at my cup. “Y/N, it’s been two weeks and you and Stiles have done nothing but avoid each other.” I nod my head, “I know…” Kira speaks up softly, “Maybe that’s for the best though?” We both turn towards her. “I mean, they have been arguing less.” I laugh slightly, but Lydia is not as amused. “Yeah, but they aren’t arguing because neither one is hanging out with the group anymore.” I looked at her quickly, “Stiles isn’t going either?” She shakes her head, “He leaves the apartment until Scott texts him to come back.” I sigh, “It’s hard to burry the hatchet, you guys…” They both sit in silence, knowing this is true. Another knock hits my door before two couples walk in - Allison and Isaac and Mason and Corey. We all say our hello’s and they begin to pregame for the soon-to-be party as well. This meant that, luckily, the conversation steers away from Stiles and I... until Liam and Malia come in.
“Are we just going to ignore the fact that this is the first time Y/N and Stiles are going to be in the same room since the ultimatum was made?” Everyone turns to Malia. “I know I’m not great with social cues, but come on… We need a game plan.” Everyone stays silent, not sure what to say. “She’s right.” I speak suddenly, surprising everyone. “How are we supposed to plan for you guys to not bitch at each other? If it was that easy, there wouldn’t be a problem in the first place.” Liam comments quickly. I nod my head in agreement, “I know… But we’ve never tried this plan…” I pick up a bottle of vodka and a shot glass. “The only time Stiles hasn’t made me wanna kill him is when I’m drunk.”
So, that’s what we did. We all got drunk off our asses in the spirit of making tonight as good as possible. About an hour and ten shots each later, we all started our walk to Scott and Stiles’ apartment for their party. We each walked in and were all greeted by the two hosts despite there already being a rather large crowd. Everyone at the party was pretty drunk, but no one was as drunk as us. A few hours and many more drinks passed before Stiles finally walked over to me. “Hey,” He forced. I rolled my eyes at him, too drunk to care. “Let’s go dance!” I said excitedly. The boy furrows his brows in confusion at me, “Aren’t you supposed to hate me still…” I laugh and shove him playfully, “We’re being friendly now, remember?” Stiles looks at me and laughs slightly, finally realizing how out of it I am.
It was now almost 2:00 AM and everyone but the pack members had left. Scott and Kira had fled to his room not too long ago and the other two couples had left around midnight. Malia was passed out in the corner while Lydia and Liam were arguing about who is Scott’s favorite - an argument that really had no answer to, but in their drunken state needed to be argued.
Conversely, Stiles and I were still dancing. It was a great night, especially for Scott’s ultimatum.
I felt myself yawn, “I think it’s time for me to go home.” Stiles looked down at me, arms still warped around my waist drunkenly. He nodded his head before gasping excitedly, “Stay here!” I looked at him with furrowed eyebrows and then looked around at the dirty living room. “Come on, Y/N!” Stiles slurred. “It’ll be like a sleepover!” I laughed at him, not used to seeing this side of him. “Stiles, this place is a disaster.” He looked around for himself before nodding happily, “Stay in my room!” I looked at him in astonishment. “Your room?” He nodded again, “Yeah! I mean Scott wants us to be friends, what’s more friendly than that?” I smiled up at him, his words making a whole lot of sense. “Okay!” We drunkenly walked up the steps to his bedroom, just barely avoiding falling down them. He led me to his room and opened the door. “What?” He smiles as he notices me still standing in the doorway. “Your room,” I smile, “It’s exactly as I would’ve imagined it to be.” He smiles at me sloppily, “You’ve seen my room before.” I nod my head, “Yeah, but I never really looked...” He just smiles again before nodding and sifting through his drawers.
“Do you need a change of clothes?” I shrugged, “I can just sleep in this.” He turns to look at me up and down, “Are you sure?” I shrug again. “I guess I could get a little more comfortable…” He nods his head once, not taking his eyes off me as a new wave of feelings hit me. I unzip my shirt and let it fall down to the ground, revealing the small black underwear on my body. “Got a shirt?” I smirk, still not totally sure of what I was doing. Stiles nods with a nervous gulp before grabbing the closet t-shirt he could feel without tearing his eyes off of me. Stiles threw the shirt over to me, watching as I caught it with ease and turned around. I rip my top off, revealing my bare back to him, and then I slip the t-shirt on over my head. I turn around again and smile. Stiles gulps again before ripping his own shirt and pants off quickly. “Mind if we share a bed?” He says just barely above a whisper. I shake my head and watch as he slips under the covers just before I follow his move. We both turn on our sides and face each other delicately. “You know, you’re a lot more tolerable when I’m drunk.” He laughed quietly, “You’re a lot more tolerable when you’re drunk, too.” I scoff and shove him playfully again, but this time Stiles grabs my hand and pulls me slightly closer.
“What are you doing?” I say barely above a whisper, my eyes traveling back and forth from his own eyes and his lips. Stiles doesn’t answer me, but instead takes my gaze as permission. He fills the gap between up in and places his lips on my own. At first, I was taken aback. What the hell was this kid doing? More importantly, why did I like it?
I slithered my arms around his neck and tangled my fingers in his hair. He groaned into my mouth as I inched closer. Stiles began moving his lips down my neck, his hand traveling down my body. I moaned in response before rolling over and straddling him. I sat up and looked huim into his eyes the way he did into mine - with hunger. “Stiles,” I started, through labored breath after the heavy makeup session we just had. “Are you sure we should do this?” He shrugged his shoulders, “It’s not like we’re about to ruin a friendship or anything.” I chuckled slightly, nodding my head. “Great,” I smirked. He mirrored my expression but with anticipation. I moved my hands down to the hem of the shirt and ripped it over my head, revealing my bare breasts. I heard him gasp lightly, “God help me…” I bend down and continue the kiss, but Stiles isn’t satisfied. He rolls me over quickly, removing what was left on my body and diving right in. To say this boy’s tongue was magical is an understatement. It wasn’t too long before I was doing the same to him and listening to his grunts like the radio. He eventually pulled me back up, not wanting to cum in my mouth. We proceeded to roll around the bed in as many positions as we could think of in our drunken state before we both finally finished. We both move to slam our backs into the bed and look up at the ceiling breathlessly. “Whoa.”

I can't believe that here we are in 2022, and Teen Wolf is still doing Arden Cho wrong.
For those who missed on the original thing, Arden was brought into play Kira Yukimura (Scott's second love interest), set up with a huge arc about Kira learning to control her kitsune powers. And had scene after scene cut to make time for the white boy of the season.
(Teen Wolf would introduce a lot of new characters every season, challenging since it already had a big cast - and without fail one of the new characters would be an angry white boy with something to prove, giving Scott something else to worry about other than the season's Big Bad, graduation or love)
She went to the powers that be, and they cut her from the show.
They're doing a movie over on Paramount. Most of the cast is returning. Tyler Hoechlin is busy being Superman, so I doubt he'll come back. And based on the link below, I wouldn't count on Dylan either. (He is a good guy though)
But what about Arden? She was going to come back for the fans, but found out they were offering her half the rate per episode as the rest of the main cast. So she said no.
If you're looking to see what's next for her, she's filming "The Partner Track" for Netflix, based on the novel of the same name.
I didn't think they could do wrong by her again, but here we are.
I really enjoyed Teen Wolf as a concept - but Jeff Davis didn't know how to write female characters, didn't know how to treat people of color in his show. Consistently, women were either love interests or victims. Without much in between. The characters who didn't have chemistry with Stiles were written off (either being sent to Argentina or killed offscreen). Lydia survived, but she was also repeatedly put through the same ringer Derek Hale had been. Which is why Tyler H left - he was tired of it.
And Jeff's answer to everything was to add MORE characters, instead of simplifying. The first two seasons were as successful as they were because the stakes were personal. We had time and room to feel like we knew Scott and Stiles. Season Three was successful because the stakes were still the city and personal as well. 3B was about trying to save Stiles. Time after time though, the characters who died were women or people of color. (Sometimes both)
But after that? The story got too big, too obsessed with outdoing itself. And never built on the heart of it. Their solution to fixing anything was to make someone a supernatural creature you'd never heard of or adding more characters you'd never get screen time to care about.
(Which incidentally, if you look at the fanfic, it's all about found family - people healing from their trauma to find happiness together. Most of us hoped that they'd learn from the mistakes of Supernatural - and let someone learn to be happy. But nah)
https://www.buzzfeed.com/natalieoganesyan/dylan-obrien-liked-tweet-arden-cho-teen-wolf-pay-cut
(I mean CRYSTAL REED IS BACK and apparently being paid more.  And that’s after she left because they had no idea what to do with Allison if she wasn’t just a love interest)

Director Christopher MacBride must relish in screwing with people's minds. His previous film, 2012's The Conspiracy, found two documentary filmmakers drawn into the world of conspiracy theories and wondering what was real... or not. His latest endeavor, Flashback – formerly entitled The Education of Fredrick Fitzell – is another head trip.
The movie follows Fred (Teen Wolf's Dylan O'Brien), a 30-year-old man suffering from violent flashbacks that harken back to his youth. Brutal and scary, the visions lead him on this journey to uncover the truth surrounding the mysterious disappearance of his high school classmate, Cindy. To get answers, Fred hunts down his former teen drug buddies. One night, they end up at a crazy drug-den party, where these strangers are all strung out on the substance Mercury. Everything spirals out of control from there, as past, present and future versions of Fred come into play.
SYFY WIRE has been following the film's progress throughout production, visiting the set as far back as 2018, where we chatted with the cast. As the film gears up to finally hit theaters, and in the wake of a delay caused by the pandemic, here's our chat with MacBride from that set visit in Toronto. The director sat down with us to discuss the project's bigger themes, high-concept science fiction, monsters, and casting O'Brien.
The original title of the movie had "education" in it. What does Fredrick learn along his journey?
The "education" definitely has multiple meanings. One of them is exploring the idea of how a human being is educated in a broad sense. How do we learn basic building blocks of life that affect us 30 years later? Experiences you have as a kid, as a child, how do those basic educational building blocks that get instilled in you. How do they then influence you when you are a grown man? Another part of it is a chunk of the story is about growing up. There's a coming-of-age aspect to it. Fred is a guy approaching 30. He's on the cusp of full-blown adulthood, in a lot of ways. He's in his first serious relationship. Is he going to commit to his girlfriend? Is he going to give up his dreams of becoming an artist and take up an office job? Is he going to become a responsible adult? His mother is also on her deathbed, which is another rite of passage when you are no longer a child. So, the education is about how to be an adult, but it's also him learning about the forces in his life that control him.
Can you talk about infusing the science-fiction element into this narrative?
Sci-fi is my favorite genre. The type that I gravitate towards most is the Philip K. Dick-type mind-bending science fiction. I love stories like that, whether it's novels or movies… high-concept, brain-teasing sci-fi. Flashback is definitely influenced by Philip K. Dick. The idea of not understanding your own identity is really interesting to me. Mind-bending sci-fi is such a great way to explore these themes of identity. A Scanner Darkly is a great example. It's stuff that could be pretentious or not fit in a straight-ahead drama. But in sci-fi, it gives you license to explore it in that way.
Where does Flashback's shapeshifting creature come into play?
The creature is a mystery in the film. I wanted an antagonist that wasn't a conventional antagonist. It's not a horror monster that is trying to gobble you up or kill you. It's something the main characters perceive when they are on this drug, that seems almost godlike. It seems to be everywhere at once. It has a Lovecraftian vibe to it. He often has creatures referred to as "you can't fathom what they look like, and you would lose your mind if you did." This is my attempt to build something like that, that looks and moves and acts like no other monster in any other movie. We are still in the process of putting it together, so we will see how it ultimately comes out.
Are the effects practical or computer-generated?
A combination of both. Audiences have seen every kind of CG monster. No matter how good the technology gets, there's always that uncanny valley where you always know it's not really there. I like things that have a Cronenberg, sticky-tactile nature to them. I want the creature to feel like it's made up of something that you don't understand, and it moves in a way you don't understand.
How did casting Dylan O'Brien as the lead come about and what did he bring to the table?
When we started casting, we wanted a good actor. But we also had certain criteria. We needed somebody who could be 17 and 30 realistically, which is tough. One of our producers, Russell Ackerman, brought up Dylan O'Brien and asked what I thought. I said, "Yes," and I went and watched American Assassin. I could see how he had formed a real character in the movie. I could see it had boundaries and limits. I could see he was a real actor. We met and he got the script. He not only got the role, but he got the whole story, so I was really impressed.
Flashback premieres in select theaters and VOD on June 4.

mike wheeler/el hopper.  2k. G. warnings for major character death.
wow!!! i can still write, apparently!! this fic is a rewrite of the very first fic i ever wrote, which you can find right here. i've been wanting to do this for a while, and thanks to the excruciating mileven emo hours that @wolfhardfinn and i have had going literally nonstop for the last few days, i finally got the motivation to do it. thanks for crying with me jazz <3
He was such an idiot. Could anyone blame him, though? He was just thirteen. He was just in love with the girl from the woods, the girl with superpowers and no concept of what a friend was. The girl who was trying her best. The girl who was gold and sunshine and ethereality all woven together.
Was.
read the whole devastating thing on ao3!

Funnily enough, when people pointed out that
1• Stiles Stilinski having ADHD and suffering from panic attacks since his mother’s death is very much canon
2• the creator and show runner of the series (Jeff Davis) himself confirmed that Stiles has ADHD and was prescribed Adderall for it at some point during his childhood more than once on twitter and in official interviews and panels – here’s an example https://collider.com/teen-wolf-panel-recap-wondercon-tyler-posey-dylan-obrien/
3• if disliking badly written and portrayed fictional character Scott McCall automatically makes Teen Wolf fans/viewers ‘RACIST’ due to Scott McCall’s canonical nonexistent Mexican ethnicity, then the Scott McCall defense squad bullies obsessively hating on canonical neurodivergent character Stiles Stilinski + attempting to erase/deny Stiles’ canon ADHD automatically makes them ableist
Scott/Posey stans suddenly went 🙈🙉🙊 and tried to deflect, yelling that they never EVER tried to denied or downplayed Stiles’ canon traumas and ADHD to make Scott look ‘better’ despite all their posts (and replies) proving otherwise

Oh, and apparently Scott can’t possibly be white because, quoting @russianspacegeckosexparty: “if Scott were really white, they’d love him like they love actual cishet white boys Stiles and Derek” now? Antis’ logic (or embarrassing lack of thereof) _____________________________________________ My add: I’ve got nothing to add there.

could you write something please with a reader being the mother of dylan’s son and like their son of 3/4 years ends up being really protective of his mom and jealous and like whenever dylan calls the reader baby or love their son also calls his moms like that. or when dylan starts to kiss the reader their son just broke their kiss saying no papa it’s my mommy and dylan tells him that’s he was there before him
Tumblr media
Dylan O'Brien x Reader
The sound of a children's show played in the background as Dylan worked on his computer. His son's eyes, near duplicates of his own, watched as the characters sang and danced across the screen. He cherished the quiet moments like this with his family the most. He could hear you moving around in the back of the house doing something, the small tapping of Tony's nails against the hardwood floor as he followed you everywhere.
Dylan was always amazed at how quickly his life had changed over the last few years. His career was snowballing with jobs and roles coming in more than ever before. But his personal life was growing since he'd met you. He'd fallen in love, married, and how you both shared a son with the want to have more children.
The sound of footsteps caused his head to pop up and away from his computer, a small smile tugging on his lips as he watched you walk into the living room. No matter what, you always made his heart race and left him breathless.
"How's working coming along? Any good scripts?" You asked, walking around to sit on the couch beside him.
"A few, I'm marking the ones I like and sending them to my manager." Dylan set his laptop to the side before moving to face you more.
His arm stretched over the back of the couch the two of you sat on. Your son continued to play in front of the tv, his attention drawn away from the show still playing on the television. Dylan moved to nuzzle his face into the crook of your neck, kissing along the side of your neck, before kissing your lips softly. You giggle slightly against his lips - a noise that caught your son's attention.
"No...no...no..." a small child-like voice sounded, small feet rushing toward you.
Soon small hands grabbed at both your legs, making you pull away and look down at your son.
"Mommy...no, mine...my mommy." He whined and whimpered, reaching his hands out to you in a reaching motion.
Dylan couldn't help but roll his eyes and laugh as you reached down to grab your son. Since turning three, your little man has been in a new phase. A phase where he get's jealous any time Dylan shows you any sort of affection in front of him. He has a small little tantrum and always tries to pull Dylan away from you. All of you think of it as funny - except your son.
"My mommy," He pouts, his lower lip stuck out as he glared at his father. "No kisses."
"I can't kiss mommy?" Dylan asked. "Why not? Daddy loves kissing mommy."
"No! Mine!" Your son reaches over and wraps his arms around your neck and hugs you tightly. "Mine."
"Ok, baby, ok..." You rubbed his back softly. "Daddy is sorry."
"Can't even kiss my own wife." Dylan shakes his head and laughs again.
"I'm sure when the next one comes, she's gonna be a daddy's girl." You smiled, one of your hands reaching down to rub your slightly growing belly.

(Dylan x Original Character)
Part Two.
Kayla’s POV.
6 months ago, I was in an agonizing pain due to my labor. But 6 months ago was also one of the happiest days of my life. Our little baby O’Brien is finally here. The moment the doctor announced that it was a boy as we heard weeping noises in the room, I couldn’t help but smile as I was staring at Dylan the whole time who was also ecstatic.
He has his own little buddy now.
The moment Dylan took hold of Stiles, it was as if what had happened five years before was happening again. He had this expression on his face when he first held Abby, and it was the same one he had on Stiles. He even shed a tear while he was carrying our boy. He really is a father and our children are very lucky to have him.
I’m currently nursing Stiles because he woke up early and was hungry. Dylan, on the other hand, is sound asleep on the other side of the bed, looking more weary than ever. He works on set in the mornings and comes home at night to take care of his responsibilities as a father and to help me.
I drew my shirt down as I placed Stiles on the bed after he was finally satiated.
“Go wake Daddy up,” I smiled as I let him crawl at Dylan.
He put his hands on Dylan’s body and his mouth on Dylan’s cheek, as if wanting to devour him. He always wakes him up like this. After a few seconds, Dylan shifting a little and wrapped his arms around Stiles.
“Hey, buddy. Morning.” He mumbled, kissing his little boy’s chubby cheek.
Stiles didn’t say anything but giggled in response. Dylan then simply laid him on his chest and kissed the top of his head. He turned his glance to me, and a loving smile appeared on his face.
“Hey, babe.”
“Hi. You tired?” I asked.
“A little.”
He asked for a kiss by bringing his lips together in a way that made me roll my eyes yet couldn’t help but smile. He can be such a baby sometimes.
I moved closer and kissed his lips briefly.
“Now I feel better,” he replied.
“Well, you better, ‘cause you need to be on set now.” I said.
“No, they changed the time schedule before sundown for a better lighting.”
I guess that’s a good thing then. He can spend a little longer here in the house.
“That’s awesome, ‘cause Abby was actually looking for you before she fell asleep.” I said, running my fingers through his hair.
“Why? Did she need something?”
“I don’t know. Maybe she wants to ask you something ‘cause she wouldn’t tell me.”
“Okay, well, I’ll talk to her when she wakes up,” Dylan said.
He then proceeds on playing with Stiles, kissing and tickling him playfully everywhere. My boys.
Dylan’s POV.
After I showered, I left Stiles with Kayla so that I could go see Abby in her room. After walking up to the front of her door and knocking, her pink-colored room greeted me. She is completely obsessed pink.
I then noticed her sitting on the floor, evidently preoccupied with something she was coloring on a piece of paper.
“Daddy!” she squealed and hugged me the moment I sit beside her.
“Hey, sweetheart.” I replied, kissing the side of her head. “What are you working on here?” I asked, looking at the paper.
“Our teacher asked us to draw my family.”
Now that I’m looking at the paper, I notice that it contains four stick people.
“That’s you, Daddy.” She said, pointing at the blue colored guy. “That’s Mommy with baby Stiles,” she continued. “And that’s Abby. Me!” she added, pointing at the pink colored dress girl.
“Wow, you’re so good. That’s awesome.” I grinned. “Aw, I’m so proud of my Abby.” I said, giving her a kiss on the forehead.
I can’t believe that the tiny girl, whom I used to rock to sleep with my arms around her, was now sitting up and painting on a sheet of paper by herself. Time really does fly by at breakneck speed.
“So, Mommy told me you were gonna ask me something last night. What was it?” I asked her.
“Oh, yes, Daddy-”
Her words were cut short before she could even finish them due to the ringtone on my phone, which indicated that someone was calling.
“Oof, wait. Give Daddy a second, okay?” I said and she merely nod.
I jumped to my feet and answered the phone call from the director of my new upcoming film, who informed me that there had been a change in schedule and that I should go to the location immediately. We need to re-shoot one of my scenes from yesterday morning because the video was glitching and we couldn’t fix it.
“All right, I’ll be there in a minute.”
I hung up the phone and shove it back to my pocket.
“I’m sorry, Abby, but Daddy needs to go now. There was a problem on my clip.” I explained. “We’ll talk later, okay?”
“Okay, Daddy,” she replied, starting to color on her paper again.
Before I left, I kissed her on the top of her head and said my goodbyes.
I changed my clothes right away, putting a watch on my wrist before going downstairs, where I see Stiles on Kayla’s arm as she is putting plates on the table.
“Where are you going?” Kayla asked the moment she see me, adjusting Stiles properly in her arms.
“Graham Moore just called, saying there has been an issue about my clip yesterday and that I should be there now,” I replied. “I’m sorry, babe.”
“Oh. It’s okay.” Kayla respond. “Well, do you mind having breakfast first?”
“Can’t. I have to be there right now.”
Swear, if I could just sit here and eat these homemade chicken, which is my favorite, I would. Schedule just isn’t my bestfriend at the moment.
“Shoot, I really have to go now.” I said, looking at my watch.
“Bye, Stiles. Daddy needs to go for now.” I said to my son which made him frown. He’s only 6 months old, yet he already has a sense of when someone is about to leave. Especially when it’s me.
“It’s all right, buddy,” I told him. “Daddy will return real soon. So, you be good for Mommy while I’m away, ok? And when I get back, we will have lots of fun together with your sister.” As if he understands it, he smiled. “That’s my boy. Give Daddy a kiss?” given that the 6 month old can’t communicate yet, I was the one who leaned in to kiss his lips, making a kissing noise at him when our lips came together, which elicited a chuckling reaction from the young infant. Kayla smiling at us.
I pulled away and look at my wife.
“Bye, babe.” I smiled before kissing Kayla’s forehead. “Love you.”
“Love you, too. Take care, okay?”
“I will,” I smiled, giving her cheek a kiss one last time before leaving.
Kayla’s POV.
Stiles finally fell asleep in my arms after a few minutes of rocking him. I carefully placed him in his crib in our bedroom before stretching myself out, because God knows how exhausted I am at this point in the day. To be completely honest, I wasn’t like this with Abby when she was a baby. Okay, certainly, I did become exhausted, but not like this. Stiles is a crier who requires constant attention and will not stop crying or sleep until I am holding him or rocking him. But even so, I love him. So much.
Following that, I walked over to the desk where my phone was and took a seat there. I opened my Twitter account and went to my notifications to see if there were any new comments since I posted something yesterday. I smiled when the Teen Wolf cast reunited on the comment section.

Not sure if it’s a joke, but if there would be a Teen Wolf movie reunion, I don’t see why not. Teen Wolf had the best cast ever, aside from the The Maze Runner. And this opinion is totally unbiased just because I’m  married to the main character of the movie, but then again, yes, I am being biased.
I turned my head to the door when I heard someone knock. It was Abby.
“Hey, sweetness. You need something?” I asked, keeping my voice down to not wake Stiles up.
“Mommy, can I ask you something?”
“Yeah, of course. Spill. What is it?” I asked as I closed my phone to focus on my child.
It took her a moment to reply. Is she scared to ask her question?
“Does Daddy love me?” Abby asked.
“Wha- of course, he does. He loves you so much. Why would you ask that?” I questioned as I run my fingers through her hair.
That was so sudden.
“When I’m at school, I see my friends getting picked up by their mommy and daddy, but my daddy has never picked me up from school. Not even once since I started kindergarten.” She said sadly. “My friend, Wendy, said that her daddy loves her that’s why he’s always picking her up in school. He’s always there for Wendy. But my daddy isn’t always with me. So, I think Daddy doesn’t love me because he’s not always here like before.”
“I wish I was Wendy, so that I wouldn’t miss Daddy all the time.”
The trace of sadness in her blue eyes that she inherited from me can still be seen as she spoke those words. I never expected her to feel this way. I didn’t ask her if she would be okay with her father returning to acting. She may be happy, but she misses Dylan, her best friend. Since then, she’s been Daddy’s little girl. Her best friend is gone, therefore it’s understandable that she’d be sad. But I don’t want her thinking Dylan doesn’t love her.
“Come here,” I said as I lift her up to sit on my lap.
“No matter where you go, you always need to remember that Daddy loves you, okay? I know that he’s not always here, but he’s always asking me about you, Abby. Every time he get into work, he asks me if what were you doing, and when he gets home from work, he asks me if how was your school or did you have fun. Daddy cares about you ever since you were still in Mommy’s tummy.” I said. “I remember when you were still in my tummy, your daddy used to sing you songs about how much he couldn’t wait to hold you in his arms. In fact, when you arrived, when he finally got to meet his baby girl, he sobbed in delight because you were so perfect and beautiful. He was in love.”
“Daddy isn’t always around because he has to work for us. He works to buy you everything you ever wanted. But mostly, he works because he loves his job. You always tell me how much you wanted to be a doctor when you grow up, that’s exactly how much your dad loves his job. But, your feelings are valid, Abby. Just don’t forget how much your daddy loves you and Stiles.”
She merely hugged me in response which I returned and kissed the top of her head.
Dylan’s POV.
It’s already 7 p.m., and I’ve only just returned home from work. I was completely exhausted, but it was fun. I enjoy keeping myself occupied. Yet, there are moments when I long to be at home with Kayla and my children, doing nothing but spending my mornings and nights with them. And I’m sure they do as well.
I stepped out of the car and started walking towards the front door, but I was stopped in my tracks when I noticed Kayla at the glass window, dressed in her lace retro nightgown and slowly dancing with Stiles in her arms. Because of the way her lips move and the way she smiles, it’s evident that she was singing. The scenery was so breathtakingly beautiful that I could sit here and just stare at it for hours on end. Kayla really is a wife and a mother material, and I’m so lucky to have her.
I started strolling back to our front porch so that I could finally say hello to them. I went into the living room, where Kayla was actually singing, and I was blown away. She was singing “La Vie En Rose,” which she uses as a lullaby for our children.
“And when you speak, angels sing from above
Everyday words seem to turn into love songs”
She sing so well and so beautiful. It was as if she was a siren in her past; she knows how to lure someone using her voice.
“Give your heart and soul to me
And life will always be la vie en rose”
She started humming and judging by how quiet Stiles is, he’s already asleep.
I smiled to myself as I came towards her from behind, my arms wrapped around her waist as I approached her. She just leaned her head against my chest, as if she already knew who I was without even looking.
“I love coming home to the sound of you singing.” I murmured, while kissing her on the neck as I gazed at my son, who was sleeping peacefully in her mother’s arms. “Where’s Abby?”
“Upstairs, asleep,” she murmured, looking at me.
As I gaze at her lips, she gives me a smile. I leaned in to kiss her and she kissed me right back.
Eventually, I change into new clothes, and Kayla takes Stiles to his crib while I head to Abby’s room to kiss her goodnight. I walked outside our bedroom and knocked on our daughter’s door, which is just a few feet away. When I didn’t get a response, I simply unlocked the door and found Abby already in her bed asleep.
I went to her bed to tuck her a blanket since it’s getting cold, when I see crayons, pencils, and papers on her bed. She most likely fell asleep while doing whatever it was she was doing at the time. I went over to her desk and placed her things there.
While putting the papers down, I came across a few letters she’d written. I decided to read them while sitting in her chair.
It was an activity that had been assigned to them by their teacher.
• Draw your family in a piece of paper.
• After you draw, answer these questions:
1. Describe your mother. Does she have an occupation? If so, what is it?
2. Describe your father. Does he have an occupation? If so, what is it?
3. If you have a sibling or siblings, describe them.
I looked at her drawing again, and it brought a grin to my face because of her inventiveness and creativity. I then began looking at her response to the number one question she had for her mother. Of course, just like any other kindergarten students, her handwriting is still improving; her letters are large, but it’s still understable.
“1. My mommy is the best mommy in the whole wide world! She always wakes me up with a smile on her face as she carries me to the kitchen for me to eat. Mommy always cooks nuggets because it’s my favorite. Mommy doesn’t have a job but she’s always taking care of me and Stiles and she’s always doing a good job. I love her so much : )”
My heart swell. She’s like the sweetest thing ever. I love how much she loves her mother.
The next paper was for question number three, about her sibling.
“3. I have a younger brother, his name is Stiles Rhodes and he’s only a baby with super cute cheeks. I love him but sometimes I hate it when I carry him and he pees or pukes at me. But I understand because he’s still a baby and I’m already a big girl. I hope Stiles grow up fast so that I can play with him at the backyard with my toys. Oh! He can also be my guest on my tea parties!”
Poor thing. Must’ve got tired playing tea parties with Mr. Bear.
The next piece of paper was for question number two, which was about her father, who happens to be me.
“2. Daddy is amazing! Everyone recognizes him because he appears on television, and Mommy, Stiles, and I are devoted viewers. Daddy and I used to have tea parties in my room and Mr. Bear, but that has ceased now that he is rarely home. He has a job, which is acting, but I’m not sure what it is because I didn’t get an answer from him about his occupation. If I ask him, he always says that he has to go for work and that he will talk to me as soon as he comes home, but that never happens. He’s always busy. I miss Daddy a lot. I wish he can be here the moment I open my eyes and the moment I close them. I love Daddy so much, but I don’t know if he loves me too.”
As I read her letter, my heart sank and a tear rolled down my cheek. I gaze at her as she sleeps, her sweet face still snoozing. How could I do this to her? She’s not supposed to feel this way. I think I just fucked up being a father.
I rose to my feet and gently stroked her hair.
“I’m sorry, Abby. Daddy’s sorry.” I whispered, leaning in to kiss her forehead.
With my head down, I returned to our bedroom. Kayla was already in bed with the lights out when I opened the door.
“Hey, baby. I was just waiting for you.” She greeted, lovingly.
Instead of responding, I chose to sit on the other side of the bed.
“Dyl? Is something wrong?” Kayla asked, sitting up and turning on the lamp. “You know you can talk to me, right?”
I just rested my head on the headboard and sighed.
“I wasn’t supposed to leave. I was supposed to answer her questions,” I said.
“What are you talking about?”
“No, actually, scrap that. I’m supposed to stay here with her and tell her things that she wants to learn. I’m supposed to be by her side.”
“Dyl, what’s going on?”
I peered into her eyes, which were looking at me with concern.
“I went to Abby’s room and saw her activity sheet,” I answered. “She wanted to know what my work is all about, but I kept ignoring her. I didn’t realize that she needed my answer until I saw it. She misses me. And what broke me even more is that she doesn’t know that I love her because I don’t show it.”
Kayla’s Pov.
I couldn’t take my gaze away from Dylan’s, and I couldn’t help but notice the misery in his eyes.
“Do you know about this? Like, did she tell you about this?” Dylan asked.
I was debating whether or not to tell him that Abby had genuinely told me how much she missed him, but I was worried that it would make him feel even worse. But he needs to know.
“Actually, she did, this afternoon.” I replied. “She asked me if you love her, and of course I said yes because you do really love her. I let her understand some things, like, you need to work for us, and that you’re so passionate about acting, and she understood.”
“Oh God, I’m the worst father ever.”
He buried his face in his palms, clearly dissatisfied.
“Hey, don’t say that.” I said, pulling his palms out of his face and he looked at me. “You are not a worst father, quite the contrary actually.  You’re the best, okay? You work hard for them-”
“Yes, but I’m always not with them. I should’ve just stayed here with you. I knew that coming back to acting would mean to have a distance with my kids.”
“Dylan-”
“It was a bad idea.”
“Dyl, please, can you listen to me just for a second?”
He sighed and let me talk.
“Do you remember when you were cast in the role of Thomas in Maze Runner? We were resting in your bed when you received the notification that you had been chosen for the part. I thought you were just overreacting to the movie we were watching because your eyes were tearful, but then you let me see the message. You were in such good spirits that you practically screamed with a tinge of tears of ecstasy in your eyes. God, if only you could see how much your face lights up when it comes to acting,” I said. “That was also the same reaction I saw when you got the roles you have now. You were ecstatic.”
“Of course, I was overjoyed at the prospect of landing those roles. You’ve been there with me since the beginning of my Hollywood career. You were with me when I was still a nobody, which means I wouldn’t have done those things if it hadn’t been for you. I get that acting is my passion, but if it means that my children will be distanced from me, I’d prefer stay at home with them instead. It’s you, Abby, and Stiles who are the most important in my life. They are still little, and I don’t want them to grow up thinking that their father doesn’t love them because he’s always at his work.” Dylan replied.
“Dyl, since the day she was born, Abby has been attached to you. When you took her in your arms, she suddenly stopped crying. When she opened her eyes for the first time, you were the first person she saw. She’s used to having you around because she’s a Daddy’s girl; maybe she just misses you. Make it up to her and let her know how much you love her,” I said. “Going back to acting industry was never a bad idea, babe. We get to see you on TV, that’s why. You never know how enthralled Abby is when she sees you on TV. She said she’s proud of you. She loves seeing her dad on screen because he’s so amazing and he has a lot of people that loves him.”
He didn’t say anything and simply sat there gazing down, his thoughts still swirling around in his head about what he was going to do. I sighed and smiled as I cupped my hands to his cheeks to make him look at me.
“I love you, and I am so proud of you.” I admit, causing a smile on his face. “You are the best husband and father, Dylan. You are nothing but a blessing to me, and our children. Please, don’t ever doubt that.”
“You think so?” he asked.
“No,” I paused. “I know so.”
I only managed to get a faint smile from him. I then brought him close to my chest while I leaned my back against the headboard to relax my back. He didn’t say anything, only snaking his arms around my waist.
“Just spend some time with Abby. Just the two of you. Show her how much you love her to the point that she would never doubt it,” I said as I was playing with his hair. I then kissed the top of his head. “I love you, baby.”
Suddenly, he sat up and kissed me on the lips.
“I love you more,” he said. “You always know what to say, babe. I’m so lucky to have you.”
Even though I’m not a fan of these kinds of mushy phrases, I couldn’t help but smile because I could tell that he meant what he said.
We were interrupted by a desperate wail from the crib before I could even pull the cover over our heads to tuck ourselves in for the night.
“I’ll get him,” Dylan said, walking around the bed to the crib to get Stiles. He get the baby out of the crib and started rocking him in his arms. “Well, good evening, Stiles.” He smiled, his free hand playing with his son’s fingers.
Not even a split of second, Stiles already stopped crying. I think he just needed to be held by his dad. Dylan then sat beside me with Stiles still in his arms as I snuggled up with Dylan.
Stiles yawned and curled up on his father’s chest, his brown eyes briefly glanced at me. Stiles gave a slight smile on his face. I smiled back and extended my hand to him. His tiny one gripped it and closed his eyes
I watched Dylan kiss his forehead, humming my lullaby to the kids which is “La Vie En Rose”, I had taught him weeks prior to sooth the boy when he needed to. His focus was purely on him, even though I was snuggled into his side. The hard whiskey eyes I used to had melted at the simple sight of the sleeping baby, a genuine smile on my husband’s face. Dylan’s fingers ran through Stiles’ short brunette hair again – the same shade as ours – while kissing his head.
“Daddy loves you, buddy,” he whispered to him. “Daddy will always be here for you, Stiles. Daddy loves you so much, always remember that,” he smiled. “I love you, your sister, and your mama.”
I couldn’t stop my smile from growing. Watching Dylan interact with our son was the highlight of any day because I could see how much he loved and cared about our children. Stiles and Abby was truly was his sole purpose for every action he made. It made me admire my man more and more.
The rising sun spread a rosy color across the morning sky through the window, causing me to scrunch up my face. I have no words to express how much I hate mornings. I yawned and slid my hand to the other side of the bed, hoping to find my husband’s body so I could cuddle up to him and smell his strangely seductive perfume, but there was no one. When I first opened my eyes, I noticed an empty bed. He’s probably gone off to work.
When I sat up, I realized that I was completely naked. Of course. Dylan has this thing about getting a touch too horny when the clock strikes three o’clock in the morning. Sometimes he just jerks off on his own, and other times he wakes me up with his sweet kisses on my neck or shoulders, and then we’d start spooning together right once. We were definitely the most hormonal teenagers back then, and we still are, since we have sex approximately three times a day, virtually every day. We can’t help ourselves, so...
I mean, I have a very hot husband, why not ride it?
I leaned over the crib and didn’t see Stiles, which made my pulse race and cause me to overthink things. I put on my silk robe and headed downstairs right away. I breathed a sigh of relief when I finally see Stiles in his blue high chair, and Dylan cooking in his apron in the kitchen.
Wait what? Dylan’s here?
I stayed where I was, staring at them both from where I was standing. Dylan took a break from the stove to continue feeding Stiles with his favorite sweet potato puree.
“You like that, buddy?” Dylan asked Stiles, wiping some of the mush from his son’s mouth with his baby bib. Stiles only smiled and cooed in response. “I’ll take that as a yes then.” Dylan laughed. “Daddy will bathe you after this, okay? ‘cause your mom wouldn’t be happy seeing the mess I made in the kitchen. Mommy can be such a Monica sometimes.”
I just rolled my eyes. But it’s true.
Dylan’s POV.
I went back to cooking Abby’s favorite breakfast, Stewed Peppers and Tomatoes with Eggs. This was my first time cooking it, I just hope I got the recipe right because I based it solely on a YouTube video I watched.
Given that I was almost finished cooking, I reached for a plate on the dish rack with my hand. As soon as I felt the warmth of two arms wrapped around my waist, I turned my head to see my wife looking at me with a smile on her face.
“Hey, you’re up. Morning, babe,” I smiled, kissing the side of her head.
“Morning,” she greeted. “Aren’t you supposed to be on set right now?”
“Yes, but I asked a month off to which they agreed on. I want to spend more time with you and the kids, so they let me.” I replied.
Actually, no, they did not agree on that. I mean, what type of an actor begs for a month off the set and expects the director to comply to his request? Of course, when I requested and explained my reasoning, they refused to accept, but I persuaded them otherwise. I just stated that I would not appear in the movie if they won’t let me take a month off, which was ridiculous considering that production had already begun, but they surprisingly agreed.  I guess they can never find another O’Brien.
“Huh. That’s weird.”
“I know,” I replied. “Their movie would probably fail if it isn’t because of me,” I joked.
“God, O’Brien, since when did you become so cocky?”
“Since the day you told me you have never seen a cock this big,” I teased.
Kayla then smacked my back playfully. “A little reminder, our kid’s here. You wouldn’t want to permanently traumatized his brain for thinking his mother is a slut, would you?”
“You are a slut. Only for me though.”
“You sure about that?” Kayla teased back.
“Oh, you are so getting this in the red room later.”
“And I am so looking forward for that.” Kayla whispered in my ear, giving my butt a spank. Yep, she has a weird obsession to my tushie.
Kayla then went over to Stiles and kissed him good morning before continuing to feed him. I told her that I had made her favorite Mac and Cheese for breakfast earlier, and she just waited for me to finish this breakfast I was making for Abby so we could eat together.
After I had done cooking the Stewed Peppers and Tomatoes with Eggs, I placed it on a platter to serve it. It was exactly at that point that a blonde beauty emerged on the table as she yawned, dressed in her pink knit nightgown with white ribbon insertion, which Kayla had made for her and which she seemed to really love, judging by how often she wore it.
“Hey, princess, you’re just in time.” I said the minute I see my daughter.
“Daddy?” the little girl muttered. “Why are you here?”
Even though she didn’t mean it to be hurtful, hearing those comments as a father hurt a little.
“Well, I decided to cook you breakfast, baby girl. Your favorite.” I smiled, showing her the food. “And if you’d let me, do you wanna, maybe, take you to school?”
“Really?”
“If it’s okay to you... I don’t wanna pressure or force you-”
Before I could even finish, she already shush me by hugging my legs. “Of course, Daddy. I would love that!”
Then, with a grin on my face, I put my arms around her waist and carried her.
“You would love that, wouldn’t you?" I said with a smile and she nodded. “Okay, but you need to eat first. I cooked it for you, Abby.”
“Yes, Daddy. Thank you!”
I let her take a seat next to me as I assist her in putting rice and her meal on her breakfast plate. I couldn’t help but feel anxious as she reached for her spoon and fork to begin eating, worrying that she might not like it.
She dipped a mouthful of the dish into her lips and swallowed.
“Is it... good?” I asked and she looked at me with no reaction at all.
Oh, this is probably bad.
“No...” she trailed off.
“Because it’s AMAZING, Daddy!” she continued, making me sigh in relief. “Thank you for this, Daddy. I love it!”
She leaned over my cheeks to give it a kiss. She’s such a sweetie.
“You’re welcome, baby,” I smiled and kissed the side of her head.
When I turned around, Kayla was smiling, putting her hand over mine on the table, where her diamond ring was in her ring finger. I smiled back at her. With my gaze fixed on her, I lift her hand, where the ring had been, and kiss it.
After we eat, I already put the dishes in the sink before I bathe Stiles since I promised that I will bathe him while Kayla was preparing all the things Abby needs for school. I then went back to our bedroom to dress Stiles up since he’s coming with us.
“You so look good on this, buddy.” I said while staring at him, who was perched on the side of the bed, wearing his Mets onesie, which I bought for him. Onesie with the words Mets and a baseball printed on the front and the name O’Brien on the back, as well as the year he was born, are displayed. “You ready? We’re going to see your sister’s school. It’d be fun!”
The baby just giggle softly, and I couldn’t stop myself from smothering him in kisses because he’s just so adorable, and I couldn’t get enough of him. I kissed and tickled his tummy a few times, causing him to collapse on the bed, laughing his heart out.
“Okay, that’s enough of giggles.” I chuckled as I lift him up to my arms.
“Babe, have you seen my blue cardigan-” Kayla paused when she noticed what Stiles was wearing. “Really, Dyl?”
“What? He’s a Mets baby. And besides, he loves it,” I replied. “Right, buddy?”
The baby just smiled and Kayla just rolled her eyes playfully.
After much preparation, I was eventually able to go out of the house with Stiles. I slid him into his car seat after opening the backseat door, but I can’t seem to get his car seat harness to stay in the right position. Then, Kayla and Abby were able to get out of the door at the perfect time.
“Babe, can you...” I trailed off, pointing at Stiles’ car seat.
She rolled her eyes with a smile and buckle him safely as Abby went on the other side of the rear seat.
“What would you do without me, O’Brien?” she joked.
“Probably suffer and not be acting anymore,” I whispered, referring slightly to my accident on The Death Cure and I know she got that. Kayla was the only main reason that I got off my couch and did American Assassin. She was there with me for everything. Kayla and my kids were my rocks for all of this.
“No,” Kayla said, tapping my nose. I just shook my head, a small laugh falling off her lips. “We don’t think like that. You’re better now, Dylan. You are so much stronger than you were back then. And you would have continued acting even if I wasn’t there for you. You’re not one to give up, you know that.”
“I know,” I mumbled, running my hand through her hair. “It was just better than I had you by my side through it all. I could never thank you enough. You know that.”
Kayla’s arms swung around my neck, kissing me softly. “No more sad talk. This is a happy day. We’re going to Abby’s school, baby. And we can bond with you later when Abby gets home.”
I nod, and we rushed back to the car to avoid escalating Abby’s ire about being kept waiting. You know how girls are. It’s a scorching day in Van Nuys, so I’ve put on my shades.
“Daddy,” I heard Abby call before I start the engine. I turned around and gave her a smile. “Thank you.”
“For what, sweetheart?”
“For the breakfast earlier and for taking me to school. I’ve always wanted you to take me and pick me up from school. And this is so nice. It makes me happy.” The little girl grinned.
“Well, starting from now, I will be the one driving you to school and back to our home if it makes my baby happy.”
“Really?”
Of course. Anything for my baby,” I smiled. “Come here,” I said and she leaned in. I kissed her forehead before she went back to her seat, playing with Stiles.
I started the engine while keeping an eye on the kids in the backseat by peering in the rearview mirror with my hand intertwined with Kayla’s
After a few minutes of driving, we eventually arrived at Abby’s school. I drove into the parking lot and parked the car. We stepped out of the car, and Kayla helped Stiles out of his seat with both hands. Within seconds of entering the campus, a couple of kids came up to me and smiled. They probably recognized me.
“Oh, my God! You’re Mr. O’Brien! Abby’s dad!" the strawberry blonde girl exclaimed.
“Yes, I am.” I smiled.
“Daddy, this is Wendy, my bestfriend.” Abby introduced her.
“Well, hello, Wendy.”
“My mom and dad always watch you on TV. They’re fan of Teen Wolf,” Wendy said. “Abby has told me a lot about you, too.”
It feels nice to know that there are still people who keeps supporting Teen Wolf, and the fact that Abby talks about me.
We then went to her class where we see her teacher.
“Good morning, Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien. And hello to you too, little one.” The teacher greeted, looking at me and Kayla and Stiles. “Hi, Abby.”
“Good morning, Ms. Anna,” Abby smiled.
“My husband wanted to drive and take a trip on Abby’s school. He never got the chance to see the school, so here we are.” Kayla blurted.
“That is no problem, Mrs. O’Brien. You can visit anytime as you wish.”
When the bell rang, the students dashed to their respective rooms. It’s the first reminder that kids need to be in class right now and wait for their teachers before the second bell. But before Abby could enter, I grabbed her hand to talk to her for a moment.
“Abby, listen to Daddy, okay?” I said, kneeling in front of her to match our heights, the girl simply nod. “I know I’m not always home like I usually do. I know it’s been a while since we’ve played tea parties in your room with Mr. Bear. I know it has been months since I took you out to play in the park. And I know I’ve already missed a lot. But Abby, I just want you to know that no matter where Daddy is, I will always love you.” I smiled, running my fingers through her hair.
“I’m sorry that I’ve been busy a lot to the point that I’m starting to ignore you. I shouldn’t have made you feel like that. You’re more important than my work, Abby. I’m sorry that every time you close your eyes and that every time you open them, I’m not there. I’m sorry that you keep missing me when I’m supposed to be around. Don’t ever think that I don’t love you, because I do, so much. You’re the best daughter that I’ve ever had, Abby. You will forever be my princess. Do you think you can forgive Daddy and let him make it up to you?”
Abby only smiled as she reached for my right cheek with her thumb, wiping away a tear that I hadn’t even noticed had fallen on my eye.
“Don’t cry, Daddy. You didn’t do anything. It’s okay,” Abby said. “But Mr. Bear has been lonely in his seat without you serving his favorite cup of tea, though.” Abby added that made me laugh a little.
“Is that so? Then, I better attend today’s tea party.”
“Really, Daddy?” the little girl asked, enthusiasm etched on her face.
“Definitely,” I smiled. “But do you think Mr. Bear would forgive me if I only make him 3 tea’s and a dozen of chocolate chip cookies?”
“That’s too many!” Abby laughed. “But yes, I think he would. If he wouldn’t, I’d just force him to. Don’t worry, Daddy.”
We laughed for a moment. God, I miss this. I wish to be like this forever.
“Do great in your class, okay? I’ll pick you up with Mommy and Stiles once you’re done so we could hangout at the beach for a moment, get some pizza, and then, we’ll go home to play tea parties. That good to you?”
“Yes, Daddy. I’ll show you the stars I get from teacher Anna once you pick me up.”
“That’s my girl,” I said before I gave her a hug. “I love you, Abby. Don’t ever forget that.”
“I won’t. I love you too, Daddy.”
We finally let go once we heard the second ring from the bell so that they could start the class now.
“Abby, are you done with your activity yet?” her teacher asked her softly.
“Yes, I already-” she paused. “Oh, actually, no. I still haven’t finish the paper for Daddy. I wrote some things there that I shouldn’t have wrote, I still need to change it.”
“It’s okay, you still have ‘til tomorrow to pass your activity. For now, let’s get to class, we have an amazing lesson today that you would love.” The teacher said before bidding her goodbye to me.
I stepped back and saw Kayla walking towards me with a whimpering Stiles.
“Hey, where have you guys been?”
Before Kayla could even reply, Stiles already cut her off by reaching his arms to me. “Dada!”
“I had to walk him away ‘cause he started whimpering for you, but I didn’t want to bother your conversation with Abby.” Kayla said, giving me Stiles.
“Aw, you missed your dada?” I asked Stiles and he just respond by snuggling himself to me. I smiled and kissed the top of his head.
We walked back to the car as I drive us back home since there’s still 4 hours left before Abby’s class ends. Once we got home, Stiles fell asleep, so Kayla put him on the crib in the living room.
With Stiles asleep and us nothing else to do, Kayla and I decided to watch Netflix and watch a random episode of FRIENDS while eating popcorn and fries we made. We sat on the sleeper sofa with a blanket wrapped around us, her head on my shoulder.
“I love this,” Kayla said, wrapping her arms around me, hugging me from the side. I smiled and put my arms around her too, kissing the top of her head.
“Well, I’m planning to let this last long ‘cause I love this too, especially if I get to be beside you.”
“Oh, please do, good sir.”
I put up my lips together, asking her to kiss me. She leaned up and gave me a peck, making me frown at her to the short kiss that had her giggling. She then grabbed my face, kissing me deeply now.
“You’re my lobster.” I said when I heard Phoebe on screen saying, “She’s your lobster.”
Kayla and I had always been a fan of FRIENDS, and ever since we’d gotten close on the Teen Wolf set, I’d bring her to my trailer just to re-watch the show. Meeting a woman who shares your mood and is a fan of FRIENDS or other 90s films is like hitting the jackpot. We’re such big fans that her ring has the words “My Forever Lobster” engraved on it.
“You’re my lobster, too, baby.” Kayla smiled and I kissed her again. Man, I sure would never get tired of kissing this lips.
Kayla then moved her legs to straddle me, deepening the kiss.
“If we won’t stop this right now, there’d definitely be a Stella O’Brien in no time,” I chuckled.
“Wasn’t that the point?”
“Wait... You wanna...? I-”
“Relax, I’m kidding!” Kayla laughed. “Stiles isn’t even 1 yet, give the baby his shine.” Kayla said, moving back to her original place on the sofa.
“So, you’re practically saying that if Stiles is already 1 or 2, we can have baby number 3? Our Stella (if it’d be a girl)?”
“That wasn’t what I meant,” Kayla said, standing up, probably to get more fries. “Chill your dick, O’Brien.”
Well, gee, how can I chill it now when she’s literally walking to the kitchen, swaying her hips purposely, and wearing nothing but her beloved Yankees jersey and her lace underwear? Despite the fact that I despise the Yankees to the core of my being, I could never deny how attractive her figure is. Because, man, she’s a hunk of hotness
Hours have passed, it’s already time to pick up Abby from school. Before we got in the car, Kayla and I took use of our free time to cook and prepare some food, as well as to gather our belongings in preparation for our picnic on the beach. Given that Abby enjoys the beach and the cool sea breeze in the afternoons, why not give the girl she wants?
I waited for Kayla and Stiles in the car since Kayla was still dressing him up. The backseat door then opened to put Stiles on his car seat. I rolled my eyes when I saw the change of clothes she did to Stiles. She changed it into a Yankees onesie.
“I hate what he’s wearing,” I said the moment Kayla got in the passenger seat.
“We’ve agreed to this, Dyldo. You get to dress him in his stupid Mets clothes that you bought for him in the mornings, while I get to dress him with my precious Yankees in the afternoon and evening.”
“Hey, do not ever call Mets stupid! That is so disrespectful.”
“Oh, yeah, like saying the Yankees sucks, isn’t?”
“Uh, yes? Because that’s a fact.” I teased.
“Oh, I’m sorry, weren’t you the one who said, “The Yankees are more better than the Mets” last night?”
“YES, BECAUSE YOU WERE SEDUCING ME! And besides, there’s some benefits.” I said, making her roll her eyes. “Look, are we gonna drive to pick Abby up or continue this nonsense but worthy fight?”
“’d stick with the second option, but I don’t want to keep my child waiting. You’re lucky.”
Third Person’s POV.
The moment they picked up their first child, Abby, they headed straight to the beach. A smile couldn’t be kept off the face of the young brunette girl, who was clearly overjoyed and her excitement could be seen in her eyes. Today, she even received five stars in class, which made her mother and father really pleased with her. She couldn’t be more happier.
They had already arrived at the beach after only a few minutes’ drive. Due to the fact that it is already sunset, there aren’t many people around. They made it to a specific location where they could put their belongings down, with Dylan laying their picnic blanket on the sand. A few people recognized them, but did not approach them or ask for a picture, presumably out of respect for the actor and his family’s privacy.
Abby then went into the water just to soak her feet and have fun.
“Abby, don’t get too far!” Dylan yelled from their picnic spot, Abby just nod in response.
Dylan and Kayla merely stayed at their spot, Kayla’s head resting on Dylan’s shoulder as she holds Stiles in her arms, who is sucking his pacifier and staring at his sister on the beach.
“Remember the first time I brought you here, at the exact same spot, when I asked you to be my girlfriend?”
“Yeah. How could I forget that? I was a hopeless romantic bitch who practically teared up the moment I saw candles and foods and stuff near the shore. And let’s not forget the Can I Be Your Boyfriend? written on the sand.” They laughed when they recalled the moment. “I actually loved the way you asked though, instead of the usual Will You Be My Girlfriend?.”
“Would you dump me if I asked you in that way instead?”
“No. How could I? I’ve been crushing over you since you wore that lacrosse jersey for a Teen Wolf episode. God, never have I ever thought someone like you would actually love me.” Kayla said.
Since Dylan asked her to be his girlfriend, this beach has become their favorite. The couple used to come to this spot whenever they had free time off set: Dylan as an actor and her as a make-up and hair stylist. Dylan also proposed to her in this spot, but much more romantic than before. They even chose to have their wedding ceremony on this particular beach, knowing full well how deeply ingrained it is in their psyches as a place of many happy memories.
“Why? You’re a very amazing, gorgeous, little smart girl. I mean, I could just go on and on, but I think the word “perfect” would already explain it. And I’m so very lucky to have you.” Dylan said. “For God’s freaking sake, babe, you’re my first love.”
“Oh, yeah? What about that Katie girl you were crushing on? You even made vlogs about her on your YouTube account.”
“Babe, that was just a stupid crush. I don’t even know why I was into her. I was obviously blind. And God, she is not my first love. Never was.” Dylan said, making Kayla roll her eyes with a smile. “I mean it, Kaylz. You’re my first love and my last love. I would probably go insane if I’m gonna lose you, which I don’t want to happen, God never.”
Kayla just snickered at him. “You’re not gonna lose me, Dylie. I love you way too much, even if you’re a fan of your stupid Mets.”
“Well, I love you too so much, even if you’re a fan of your stupid Yankees.”
They merely laughed in response. Abby then came back to sit with them, playing with his baby brother.
“Mommy, Daddy, was I like Stiles when I was little?” the little girl asked.
“Oh, yes, you were. The only difference is you cry a lot when you were a baby.” Kayla respond.
“That’s not true!” Abby chuckled.
“That is true, baby girl. I even have a video of it on my phone,” Dylan teased.
Dylan reached for his phone and browsed his videos, which were replete with Abby and Stiles. He scrolled way back until he reached the year 2018, the year when Abby was finally here, surviving her existence by sobbing uncontrollably.
“See?” Dylan said, letting his daughter look at her video crying as Kayla was rocking her in her arms.
“That’s not me! I don’t cry like that!” Abby argued.
“Yes, you do.” Kayla teased.
They continued arguing in a teasy way while Stiles just giggled at them. Just the four of them, having their own fun as a family.
In the end, it was only the two of them, lighted up against the dazzling sky, two specks of stardust from the same star that had miraculously found each other and had their two bundles of joy.

A’s For Your Q’s!
Anonymous said to bhadpodcast:Im really curious to know why you strongly believe Tyler Hoechlin is gay? I can kind of see it but not as much as others and was wondering if you could explain the reasonings behind it. Do you see him as being truly gay or bisexual? Thanks really have just been wanting to know your thoughts! I hope I dont sound defensive or negative Im really just curious! Okay, gonna do a digest of a bunch of the asks here!
Anonymous said to bhadpodcast: While Hoechlin's open, unashamed and giant boycrush on Dylan as a person and as an actor and his constant staring at Dylan like he hung the moon and stars is super adorable and undeniable, he doesn't really strike me as a homosexual person. As far as my intuition and personal experience go there's little to no doubt Hoechlin is straight, but it's also absolutely impossible to deny the special, unique bond he shares with Dylan in real life or the intense chemistry they have on and off screen. So yeah, I genuinely believe Tyler Hoechlin has always been attracted to women and never really questioned his sexuality or even felt the need to... until he met Dylan O'Brien.
A lot of people hold that theory too.  It is possible to just fall in love with a person.   I’m of two frames of thought: 1) he never thought about gay, but Dylan awoke the possibility in his head and now he’s all “what other cars don’t have tops!?”, or 2) he knew all along, but Dylan is what made him cave into admitting it, but also what made him turtle shell when faced with the reality of a public relationship.
greyhoundsgirl said to bhadpodcast:I can’t even remember what started this but I’m guessing it has to do with Hoechlin and honestly with the trajectory his career is taking, it would only benefit him to come out, imo.-oh I'd love to hear how, not to keep the gay in HW discussion going but specifically to Hoechs cos I'm so curious about what he wants that trajectory to be vs what maybe it should be? I'm glad your surgery went well, too 😃
Anonymous said to bhadpodcast:Hoechlin and honestly with the trajectory his career is taking, it would only benefit him to come out, imo./why? could you elaborate? I'm not a Hoechs stan (I just drool at him), I'm asking 'cause I know nothing about HW and I'm not sure why you say this. I don't even wanna start wank, I'm actually kinda tired of the bouts of Hoechs drama here lol. I understand if you don't wanna get into it, but I'd appreciate your insight Sticky :)
Anonymous said to bhadpodcast:But there’s a very real atmosphere that tells young actors that being gay is career death but it’s really not//we know of many high profile roles where the "out" actor wasn't cast. Even if the public would accept a gay man playing Captain America, the real problem is that they wouldn't be cast by the conservative movie companies. For all the actors that are liberal, HW is still very conservative on the money side. Young actors not coming out doesn't surprise me, it's the famous ones that should.
guilleobsessions said to bhadpodcast:Someone said the cause Hoech hasn't come out was more complicated than him being in HW. I agree. If he is anything other than straight (according to my theory he isn't as straight as he wants us to believe) at this point he just uses HW life as an excuse, to not recognise that he is just afraid of stepping out of a world he created for himself, based on believes and ideals about how things should be. His need to please everyone it's just pulling him down... This is how I see it, of course.
Okay, so I want to clarify a few things before I get started with this.
When I say the concept of homophobia in Hollywood is based on a myth, I’m not saying that homophobia in Hollywood deosn’t exist.  Of COURSE it does, but as with all things, $$$ money trumps all.
Because we are getting more diverse ways to access and distribute media, the people who produce it are also coming from a more diverse pool.  It’s why shows like Blackish and Empire thrive, Fresh off the Boat and really all of the Tyler Perry programming.  New demographics are being shown to be lucrative and more entertainment outlets are starting to cater to them.
My friend and I were talking about how disappointing LOGO has become.  The fact that Logo hasn’t become Lifetime for Homosexuals is shocking.  Prooduce some original gay films that have a campy and schlock factor with lots of ugly crying and they would be my destination every Saturday morning for the rest of my llfe.
When Colton came to Hollywood things like this weren’t an option.  So he was told to stay closeted so it wouldn’t hurt his career.  He was told being gay was career suicide and manipulated into being closeted until it almost freaking killed him.
Noah Galvin came on the scene a decade later where possibilities and opportunities were starting to open up and being gay didn’t automatically make you a pariah.  But he doesn’t understand Colton’s generation and therefore he criticized it. The thing is that more and more actors are coming out and are creating their own opportunities.  Meaning on a network level you can be a gay working actor and not have your personal life effect your HW career.  You can even go out with your significant other and most people aren’t the wiser.
The myth lies in with people like Cody Saint Gnue who G4P, and are caught up in this web of producers and execs who thrive on the fear of being a pariah when they’re not the only avenues anymore.
Now, currently this works on a local level.  Meaning you can appeal to the liberal masses and maybe score an online or nationwide hit.  The international market is another beast entirely.
When I talk about Tyler Hoechlin, I want to be gentle when I say this, I don’t see him as having international superstar potential.  I don’t even think that’s what he wants.  And with that as a springboard, I think he’s a guy that could come out and just work locally in his little bubble and be perfectly happy the rest of his life.  But I think this idea that he’s going to be this huge internationally known on the microphone star informs the image he tries to relay and ends up hurting him in the long run, especially if he lacks the ambition and desire to really go for the top spot.
I get this q once every other month, heh.  Honestly if you search Hoechlin Gay on here most of my responses come up.
Here are some silly fun posts:

http://bhadpodcast.tumblr.com/post/152910829257/they-do-and-they-are-suh-srs-lol-like-you-wanna
Umm... what were we talking about?  Oh!  Uhh... he’s got a ~quality?
Sigh, so even leaving out intuition, there are so many factors that point to it.  Relatively isolated childhood with lots of team sports.  He went to highschool, but because of acting was often home schooled or tutored.  Had a very specific change of style that goes along with discovering yourself, but was a little late to the game because arrested development so we ended up seeing this first hand. Grew up kind of an ugly duckling, understands he’s a beautiful swan and knows how to use that.  Has a TON of girl friends and then like.. baseball, actor “team” guy friends. Chunky rings and does his own makeup. The constant bearding. The sheer and obvious avoidance of anything TOO gay.  He does this at cons a LOT, JR and Bobo will be nearly making out and Hoechs will be like PASS.  He just won’t discuss, or come near it.  Then there’s the whole GCC debacle and so much more.
There are just so many things that would lend themselves to him being closeted and I’m sure every single one could be twisted to him being straight, but the fact it’s so debatable is its own form of telling. Do a search for Hoechlin gay or Dylan bi, etc.
Anonymous said to bhadpodcast:My problem is people blaming Hoechlin for "the closet" and not being "honest". I get it, it's an O'Brien stan blog but he's the one with the most promising career. not Hoechlin. Blaming Hoechlin for the "closet situation" is ridiculous. O'Brien doesn't need Hoechlin to be out and proud, but no one seems to expect his coming out and Hoechlin is the messy one to blame. It's a bit easy.
This ask is baffling to me because I’m not entirely sure where you’re coming from.  No one is blaming Hoechlin for a “closet situation”, I don’t know what that means.
We’ve had a lot of discussions about Dylan’s sexuality (oh, I still remember a LOVELY convo we had about his more feminine qualities and how they worked in concert with his masculine ones?  So good!), but we all pretty much accept that he’s bi and in waiting.  He’s with Britt and she knows and is cool and they love each other very much and the Hobriens think that if Hoechlin ever came out, Dylan would go with him and Britt would marry Julia, durr. Otherwise Brylan will get married and have a million kids. Either way we’re happy.

Finding hope during the monsterpocalypse
Tumblr media
Love is explored honestly and equally throughout the film — whether it's the love between Joel and his pup, Boy, romantic love, or the love between found family in the aftermath of the monsterpocalypse. What drew you to this project? And what do you think audiences can take from these stories of hope and love in 2020?
It's a good question. Let me think what a good answer is. [Laughs] That is a big thing for me, and what drew me to it was the positivity of the film. I love genre stuff: the concept ideas within a film like this and the fun within the sequencing. The scary [parts] and the bit of the gags and playing with all that stuff, for me, is really great fun — and I love those sorts of things in film. But then, I also just really liked the honesty of it and the positivity of it overall.
It's a film that doesn't have an ego or something. It doesn't become like Joel is all-important, and he's the chosen one. I don't quite know how to articulate it, but it's not trying to do something or trying to be more than what it is. There's just a bit of an honesty to it and a positivity in the end in the messaging and that sort of thing where it's about caring for each other and about humanity. And it's not like, "I'm going to take what's yours for me, and I want this, and we have to fight each other for each other's resources," and all the usual stuff that you have in these sort of end of the world movies. I just liked that it didn't have that, and it was just this guy who's passionate about something and makes friends with this dog and is trying to get somewhere and kind of grows up in the process.
O'Brien slays every take
Tumblr media
What was it like working with Dylan O'Brien?
It was awesome. We really get along well, and I consider him a pretty close friend now. I didn't know him well at all before going in, so I sort of met him for the project and talking about it. And he was the guy from the start that was right for it. And we just chatted and found what we thought was interesting about the character and the tone of it and how we wanted to work together. He's just got really incredible instincts for things in the moment — both a movie genre point of view of what's cool in the moment and what really works, but also just on character point of view in terms of humor, little things, the way he reacts to stuff, all that. It's just really entertaining to watch while you're making the film.
And he would always do different things pretty much every take, giving it a different angle and trying to find something [new]. I think that was what was really cool about it was just trying to find those things. You know, you're not showing up to just execute this exact thing. Obviously, the script is a script, and you're making that movie, but it wasn't like it's just a given exactly how something should be. And so there was always an openness to how to make the most of a moment or how to bring it to life in a different way. And so it was really awesome. It was great to work with him.
Did you have a favorite scene from him?
Probably the boulder snail one, funny enough. Just when Joel's shirt comes off, and then he can't move, and he's stuck in fear. There was just something about it where on the page I sort of had an idea of what I thought, and then just watching Dylan do it in the moment. It's just funny and kind of absurd, and he just did it really well. And at the end there, those were improvisations where they were going, "Thank you, boulder snail," and he's like, "Thank you," and he can't really talk, but he's kind of stuck in this moment. He's like overwhelmed. I thought that was really funny. I enjoyed that day. It was cool.
Dylan O'Brien, prankster extraordinaire
Tumblr media
So during the New York Comic-Con panel, Dylan [O'Brien] and Ariana [Greenblatt] teased some on-set shenanigans. It sounded like set was a lot of fun. Were there any other notable moments or funny jokes and pranks on set?
It was pretty much ongoing. Dylan was filling the older brother role, really pushing it quite far. And so she was trying to taunt him all the time with things, and he was just being really mean to her in a funny way — like an older brother kind of way. Or she would do a really amazing take, and then he'd go like, "Come on, get it together," whatever it might be. Or during a scene when it's on his close-up, and she says something, and then he's like, "It's my shot now, this one's about me, it's not about you, so just do your lines." They just had this really funny thing, and she would just say the same things to him when it was her when she was in close-ups, and he wasn't on the camera. So they just had a really fun time. And I think it helped with the relationship onscreen.
Because she's quite mean to him and quite precocious and pushy, and I think him doing that also helped her feel comfortable being like that with him, and being kind of bossy and mean, because he let her be really comfortable like that off-set and they have a good vibe. It was great.
That's fun! While, at its heart, Love and Monsters is a love and survival story, the movie has some brilliant comedic scenes. You touched on this a little bit, but were there any ad-lib lines or improvised moments from any of the actors that stood out?
Oh, that's a tough one. Honestly, there were a lot. From Dylan's point of view, there were a lot. Often, it's in the heart of what the scene is and what's on the script. The work is in the script, so it's not to put down anything in terms of him changing things because it's not good enough or something, but it's just in the moment there were lots of things he changed. I'm trying to think what would be a good example. I don't know, to be honest, there are a lot.
He does that in a lot of his projects, and it's always hilarious. So that's not a surprising answer.
Yeah, and it's great. I love it.

But it's also a testament to the quality of Dylan in being able to nail stuff. There were never times when it was like I'm sitting there as a director going, "Oh, he's just not getting this right." It's more just a case of if we could keep playing, we might come up with some other things that are really cool here as well. So that was the challenge: knowing if something is funny or not in the moment and going, "We've got that. It's funny, and it worked," but feeling like you're under quite a time constraint the whole time.
But everyone really loved the film that worked on it. We had a really passionate and amazing crew, and my AD James McGrady and John Starke, the line producer, as well as Dan Hennah, the production designer, and Lachlan [Milne], the Director of Photography. They were all very high-level people that I was really fortunate to work with. And we all were an amazing team, super positive and just trying to do the best we could with what we could.

But we did see a lot of different young girls for [Minnow] because it's not as easy with older actors where you love someone from all these movies, whereas we wanted to see a lot of different people and see what the energy was. And she just had a really strong, confident vibe to her that really worked. And then at the same time, with casting, she went from that to turning to then starting to cry, and with Dylan, she actually did it with Dylan there, and was like, "Why you got to leave?" And then these tears just came there, and we thought, "Oh, if she can move between those spaces, then she's awesome."
And she brought a lot. She was super easy to improv little things with Dylan, or if Dylan said something, she would just say something back. She never got thrown by it or anything like that. She was great.
