Things hybe 'did' for Jimin FACE era

1. Denied him of 4 MV, to artist who build that fuxking company. While giving their rookies 4 MVs on 1st album, Yoongi and Hobi a documentary and now a world tour. Apparently 4 MVs request is unreasonable, my ass.

2. Lets forget about other international platforms but they Didn't raised a finger against hanteo robbery even if it's their own home country. Still no one knows where that 770K sales went. Conveniently stole his #1 soloist sales record.

3. Didn't sent LC to radio even after mass request from fans and it achieving no1 on BB, left all work to be done by fans. LC had a very big opportunity to go even big but how much fans can do without a single support from agency ?

4. No celebrations or theme cakes like other members, no interviews or hype after No.1 BB like bangtan had during dynamite era. When rest country was celebrating and their share prices shoot up. Even Jimin's dad's friends celebrated while it's silence from his agency.

5. Even his pre orders still not shipped which is affecting charts. It's been a month, mind you. Took days to restore CDs in BTS store. Took days to add LC to This is BTS Playlist, which is the biggest we can have, while haegum was added in a day.

6. Army were begging them about BB situation for 3 WEEKS but no response but conveniently corrected the website just a day before D DAY. No comments regarding his 90%+ sales being deleted while all K media were writing about the BB payola.

7. Cut down his promotion to 10 fucking days leaving even Jimin disappointed and doubtful about his promos. Just to announce a whole new album in a week and killed hype of FACE.

8. Threw him to hands of kpoppies and antis, they were rentlessly attacking him since SMF dropped, articles were written, they were making sexual harassment and rape jokes against him. 'Artist protection' no where to be found. Didn't even took down korean articles or hate blogs.

9. Made him overwork and finish everything within 10 days till he was sick. He attended parties with tapes on his neck and was sick af by end of promos, even on BB hot 100 announcement day.

10. Remember when Filter was removed from iTunes when it began outstreaming ON ? Yeah same thing happened. FACE tied with BTS record for iTunes album IMMEDIATELY next day there was a 'glitch' and FACE falled.

That's an accurate depiction of me rn. I said in a comment and I'll say it here. I love Jimin with everything I own, but I'm gonna need my man to start having some sort of defiance. He doesn't see his potential, fine. But he needs to start prioritising himself. He don't need to be putting others infront of himself all the damn time. Did other members put their shit on hold for his sake? No. He was born to shine...its why he's so hated because he doesn't need to do much and people will gravitate towards him. If YT didn't do what they did SMF and LC would both have over 100M views by now. No seriously think about it. Forget the streamers like u and me. We have 74 million subscribers on Bangtan TV and 70 M subs on Hybe labels. Then Jimin has 49M followers on insta. Lets say 10 million are people with multiple accounts. That leaves 39M followers. Again, forget the streamers. Lets say there is a person who is busy so they only have time to watch his MVs once before going to work and once before bed. Then we of course have the haters obsessed with Jimin who also watched the MVs at least once. Add the fact that both MVs for sometime were number 1 and 3 on trending which means locals who like to see what's trending clicked on the songs and watched them. And then that's when the streamers come in. The math does not math no matter how much u try. The fact that LC doesn't even have 50 million views is absolutely ridiculous.

But, I digressed. Back on topic. Hybe did do him dirty. BH been doing him dirty for fucking years. But he stays. If you've been listening. You will notice Suga and Jimin are the two members who've been the most vocal about coming back as 7. I'm not saying the rest don't want that, but Yoonmin do appear to want that the most.

We have seen Jimin refuse to go hard when he's dancing with people who are not as good. The TT he did with TXT he did not even try. He took the cute route. And that's not the only one. VIBE he could have gone harder, but u can see he is holding back because that is not his song, he was a feature. Watch how he dances with Suga versus how he dances with Jhope. U will see a clear difference. Jimin has always, always put other people into consideration. Its why u will see when V is making fun of Jimin he won't stop and keeps going and going. But when Jimin is making fun of V, he will catch himself and stop and admit he has gone to far.

He has always put Bangtan before himself and it sucks. Look at JK "what are they gonna do, fire me?" JK knows the power he holds and uses it and takes advantage of it. He knows he's indispensable. But then so is Jimin and I wish he would follow his boyfriend's lead because this is absurd. Other members have gotten sm and he got so little. How and why was he okay with this?

I would bet my right arm (I'm right handed btw) that he has also put BTS before his relationship and could have been the cause of some of their fights. And u know JK sees whats happening and doesn't like it one bit. BH weren't promoting his man to his satisfaction so JK did a whole live dedicated to Jimin. He said; fine, I'll do it myself.

Y'all think I'm kidding when I say JK stays for Jimin 🧐

I hope military service hardens Jimin and he comes back with an attitude because this man deserves to reach even greater heights than he already has.

I'm sorry but that dynamic isn't exclusive to Taekook because Jungkook does this with other members as well, mostly Jimin.

Jimin always talks about getting scolded by Jungkook and not always in a professional setting. During the 2019 New Jersey live he said he got scolded because him and Jin shut down the live right before JK joined them, and he gets scolded again in front of our eyes during JK’s live and even apologized (mind you Jin didn't get scolded too). He got scolded in 2023 Festa for not sharing his music with Jungkook and JK told him to apologize, which he did. He got 'scolded' during the b-t-s of their SNL performance by JK for his singing technique. During the LY/SY World Tour JK was injured and Jimin had to fill in his place during the choreo and JK was watching him do it and assessing his performance before the concert and gave him an approving nod during the performance after he successfully did it. He even gets playfully scolded for dumb shit sometimes, like being late to the Dynamite MV shoot "Do you think being cute covers everything?" , for flirting with camera during the shoot "Why is he flirting with the camera so much? I don't approve of this!" (in Yoongi's dad's voice), for saying he finds himself erotic (got slapped on his back), or doing an interview when Jungkook wants to leave "Excuse me. Can you move?"

The point is, Jungkook scolds other members (mostly Vmin when he's being serious) because they're closer in age and he can do it without it seeming disrespectful. During a professional setting he scolds whichever member messes up (save for Hobi lol) because that's how BTS as a group operates and makes sure their performance is top notch. And JK being the center AND main singer he has the responsibility of making sure they sing correctly, and making sure they dance correctly as he's a lead dancer. Let's not act like Jungkook scolds only Taehyung when he literally doesn't. (that anon's examples are all from a professional setting as well, where we've literally seen JK scold every member EXCEPT for j-hope) That's a very tunnel vision way of seeing things and frankly just lies.

I think you are missing a subtlety here. We’re not talking about Jk scolding members, though I do understand how that can be unclear from that former ask, we are talking about how Jk reacts to Tae when he either messes something up or when he succeeds. We’re not talking about scolding in general.

Kikou Seiki Unitron JP-only RPG sequel by SNK 2nd party Yumekobo. My old notes say this came bundled with a Japanese "slim" NGPC I wanted, that I had only played the first game, Biomotor Unitron, very briefly, and that I wasn't impressed with the "Pokemonesque" gameplay here, greatly preferring the likes of Card Fighter's Clash. That will probably still be the case. Nice presentation though. Translation patch from romhacking.net only does 1st few minutes of intro, and menus. Could be a decent RPG.

Neo Turf Masters Saurus' (SNK 2nd party?) version of Nazca's Neo Geo golf game. Doesn't have RPG stuff like Mario Golf but I was getting into the actual golf part. Some wild course stuff like being atop a huge waterfall. Can't save mid-course in-game? Emulator solves that I suppose. Want to play this more. Waitasec, I have MVS/AES version from the Humble Bundle NEOGEO collection. Well now I gotta try that (I think I thought at some point MVS/AES ver had flashing FX? Not seeing them at the moment).

The King of Fighters: Battle de Paradise Your avatar hops around a board triggering King of Fighters-themed button mash minigames, most of which aren't very fun. (There's a pretty fun hidden game if you put the cart in a b&w NGP, haven't done that yet, need to use an older emulator.)

Cotton: Fantastic Night Dreams Amusingly drawn cutscenes with a silly young witch; boring horizontal shooting.

Faselei! Rather lovely solo mech tactical strategy by Sacnoth. "Program" your mech's next series of moves by socketing action-specific, upgradeable "chips," then watch them play out alongside the enemy's moves. Lush presentation.

NeoGeo Cup '98 Plus Initial, b&w version of…

NeoGeo Cup '98 Plus Color Kinda cute national team tournament soccer w/ absurd clothing stat-boost items to collect (don't get too attached--thieves will steal them). Gameplay's a bit maddening as it seems nearly impossible to pass to your CPU teammates, who a) are usually offscreen and b) always seem to run the other way than you'd expected; meanwhile, the CPU always has 2-3 players right on you. Back in the day I found a spot to shoot from pretty far out and to the side that goalies couldn't block; darned if I remember where it was. ; )

Dynamite Slugger Seems like a pretty good baseball game by ADK and I am terrible at them, specifically here the very streamlined pitching, and the fielding where I always press the wrong base button to throw to. Pocket Tennis Earlier, more challenging version with fewer characters and less animation--more challenging because serving is touchier and your character has a shorter reach. : P

Pocket Tennis Color By Yumekobo. Movement feels good until you try to coordinate it with hitting the ball, at which point I encounter mysterious whiffs, dives that take me away from the ball, and hits that often don't go in the direction I wanted. Feels more like ping pong than tennis a lot of the time. Some weird courts with hard-to-read nets. : P My old notes point out that the CPU doesn't move on defense, so you just hit it past them.

Of these, the games I have marked to come back to are Neo Turf Masters (the MVS one, at least, and possibly this one to compare), KOF:BdP for the b&w hidden game, and Dynamite Slugger.

I have never seen JK more snapier with anyone than he is with Taehyung. He is critical of Taehyung's work, doesn't shy away from raising his voice, hits him when Taehyung makes mistake, become a brat, ignore him, rolls his eyes, demand things from him, take him for granted, you name any bratty behaviour he might have done that with Taehyung. Other members see parts of these behaviours towards them, not a whole picture. Then you see him pouting when he can't get close to Taehyung, doesn't leave an opportunity not to compliment him, supports and encourages Taehyung and his work, walking dictionary of Taehyung's whereabouts, indulges Taehyung and his demands, follows him through his eyes, shares the most awesome telepathic connect, have star struck eyes looking at his bae, shows his bias. You see all these extreme behaviour is for Taehyung, not in bits and pieces but as a full package. You can be disrespectful towards your hyungs if you are super close to them. He is a child and a man with Taehyung. This makes me think they are real. Not one part of the spectrum but the whole rainbow.

Do you have your fav moments of JK being a brat with Taehyung and him indulging Kookie in return?

Yes yes yes to Jungkook simultaneously being the freest with both his annoyance and his adoration with Taehyung!  I agree that this is one of the things that really makes the possibility of them being a couple seem likely to me.

At first I wasn’t sure I’d be able to come up with favorite moments for this, but they’re actually popping into my head pretty easily.

I think the most obvious example is the time from a V Live with Taekook, Jin, and Jimin several years ago, when Jimin brings up the fact that Jungkook had scolded Taehyung at rehearsal earlier that day.  It easily could have been a tense moment, but instead, Taehyung was all about it lol, he encouraged Jungkook to talk about it and clearly thought it was funny and kind of cute.

I’ve also noticed and agree that in general he is really critical of Taehyung’s work, like I don’t know if it’s that he feels a sense of connection to him, so he feels at some level like Tae’s work reflects on his own, but there are a lot of examples of him scolding Tae for messing things up, or just holding him to a high standard.  One is during the Dynamite MV shoot when Tae missed the cue for his pose and Jungkook got annoyed with him and smacked his shoulder.

I don’t know if I would say Tae usually indulges him necessarily in those moments, but he does seem to listen to him and try to improve, like when he wasn’t understanding the jacket thing during the rehearsal for their Grammy performance recently.  Jungkook was frustrated and trying to explain, and instead of getting annoyed back, Taehyung just kept trying to understand and do his best.

Peak Jungkook-being-a-brat-to-Taehyung behavior is, I think, the 2019 to 2020 New Year’s V Live.  I don’t know what was going on there, but Jungkook was pouting when Taehyung talked about going on a healing trip by himself, snapping at Tae to tell him what he wanted to say wasn’t important -- and yet Taehyung looked so fond through the whole thing.  When Jungkook essentially told him to shut up (not that aggressively, obviously, but still, it was noticeably snippy), he just did it, and yet continued to make heart eyes at Jungkook through the whole live.

Bonus: An example of the opposite would be the post-AMAs group V Live when Jungkook was clearly feeling a bit on edge after the way everything had happened.  He basically fully yelled at Yoongi to stop talking over him, but when Tae did the same thing two seconds later, he just shut right up and listened to him talk lol.

Like you said, he’s brattier with Taehyung, but he’s also sweeter and more indulgent.  I think the way I’ve described it before is that his sharp edges are sharper with Taehyung, but his softer bits are that much softer too, and to me, it definitely seems like further evidence that they’re extremely close, because we’re the fullest versions of ourselves with the people who know us best and love us most.

I'm here to once again complain about kpop redditors. Does kpop reddit suck? Yes. Have I found a better place to read kpop opinions? No. Twitter is a mess, Army Twitter isn't generally very critical of BTS, in any way, and tumblr still isn't the best place for kpop discourse. So, since I don't know many kpop fans, reddit it is.

Now, on this specific occasion I want to comment on the discourse surrounding BTS's solo careers. There are several bad takes I keep seeing that make me question if those people even know BTS.

V is more interested in an acting career / V is not interested in music. He did one (1) drama and has only in passing mentioned acting again, so why are people fixated on him acting and why do people think he doesn't want to do music? He has the most solo songs out of the vocal line, almost all of them self-written, and he's always recc'ing songs and sharing snippets of stuff he wrote. Does that seem like something a person with no interest in music would do?? On the same vein...

Jin wants to be an actor. / Jin isn't interested in music. He would rather shoot variety content. He literally said in the 2022 Festa that what had interested him in acting in the first place was the opportunity to try different things, but since he's already doing that as an idol he doesn't have an interest in acting anymore (he didn't say it couldn't happen though). Also, Jin did variety to make Army happy and to promote his music. He's too shy and loves to perform on stage so I doubt he's going to ditch music to become a full-time variety entertainer. He's also written several songs. Just because he's not as full of passion for music as some of the other members, or because he also likes food, alcohol and gaming, that does not mean he wishes to quit being an idol. He's worked too hard and come too far for kpop stans to say he'd rather just act.

J-Hope will be the most successful long-term. / J-Hope has the most solo potential. I know redditors love to hype up the least popular members in a group, but this is bullshit. So far, there is nothing that indicates J-Hope will be the most popular member. People used to say this because he released fun songs like CNS, but JITB is not GP-friendly. Yes Hobi is a great dancer, has great stage presence, is a good rapper, is charismatic, etc. but every member has qualities and if J-Hope isn't the most popular member among Army is it really likely that he will become the most popular member worldwide? Imo, apart from CNS, he hasn't made a lot of music that would appeal to a very broad audience, he hasn't even danced much as a solo artist, and his personality isn't any better than the other members. I don't know the future, but the amount of people who even now say J-Hope will be the most successful member long-term makes me think this is another case for over-hyping the "underdog" and undervaluing the "overrated" members.

Suga is only successful in SK. / Suga will only be successful as a producer. That That was a hit and Suga didn't just produce the song, he featured in it and is one of the reasons why the MV and song are so great. He also featured in Girl of My Dreams which did well internationally and has been receiving international coverage by attending NBA games and now the Valentino collab. Plus, D2 was really successful considering it's a pre-Dynamite release and is not pop. Suga has amazing stage presence, many people love his fast and aggressive rapping the most among the rap line, he's real, honest, and straight-forward in a relatable way, he talks about real issues in a relatable way, he's great at promoting their sponsors, he's charismatic and masculine yet cute, he knows how to make exciting yet accessible music, etc.. Stans often say he will be the most successful of the rap line but since popular takes are frowned upon they also say he will only be popular in Korea or that he might just become a producer. In how many different ways must the man tell you he wants to be on stage and making music for a really long time for you to get it?

JK may become the most successful soloist but only because he makes generic pop music. / He works better in a group and only his collabs were successful. / He's boring, shy and doesn't know how to promote himself. I know Jungkook is so popular no one wants to give him proper credit, but he only makes generic music, really? I agree that some of his music is generic, but in the end that is what people like (tons of legends made generic music but it's not considered generic anymore because it's old) and stans seem to conveniently forget all the other songs he's done: Euphoria? A bit generic, yet very successful and pretty timeless, but Begin and My Time? Not generic, that's 2 to 1. Still With You? Not generic, very popular all things considered. Magic Shop? A bit generic, but one of the most popular bsides that BTS themselves love to perform, with nice lyrics and concept. Stay? A bit like Magic Shop but it's the only unit song they still perform and imo one of the songs in BE that aged the best. My You? Aanother fan song. Fan songs tend to be a bit generic and sentimental but he only wrote the lyrics; My You wasn't supposed to become a real song and he was only given 3 instrumentals to choose from. Left & Right? As generic as Bad Decisions and Vibe, and not a solo or self-composed track, but no one calls Jimin generic for those songs. Film Out and Your Eyes Tell? Fans literally rave about those songs, but often seem to forget that it was Jungkook who wrote them for his mixtape. Love is Not Over? Beautiful, not generic, written by Jungkook, and he also wrote parts in Run BTS, Telepathy, Autumn Leaves, Run, No More Dream. Stay Alive? One of the least generic OSTs ever, but I guess it doesn't count because he didn't write it? Dreamers? Sounds like a FIFA song but grows on you like crazy. People love Waka Waka and no one calls it generic. Dreamers is like the new Waka Waka so why is it generic instead of a bop? Because Jungkook has great pop vocals, admires Westen pop artists and has some generic songs and song covers (mostly collabs or unofficial releases), he's being pigeonholed. It's not that I disagree that his current style, or image, is mostly pop and very GP-friendly, but the same could be said of BTS in general, yet we know they have range and aren't just basic or whatever. Saying Jungkook will only become successful because he writes generic music as if he doesn't have the ability to write different styles or as if BTS aren't popular because they also appeal to the GP is just condescending. Also, JK isn't the only shy artist out there and he's had to represent BTS by himself many times; he can do it. Left&Right wouldn't have broken any kind of records if not for JK and Dreamers and Still Alive did pretty well under the circumstances (one being the soundtrack of a boycotted WC with almost no promo and the other being a webtoon OST). Lastly, JK not promoting himself is also a weak argument since that's mostly Hybe's responsibility and he hasn't even debuted yet. Anyway, I just think there are too many double standards when it comes to Jungkook.

"Ok Jiminie, but remember our performance is less than a month away. After all, it needs to be a Grammy-level performance." 

"Yes Hobi hyung, I remember." I replied, as I strolled outside our dance practice room, for a much-needed break.

Trust me, Hobi hyung has been saying this for three months. It is true that we are nominated for the first time, and our performance of Dynamite needs to be amazing. However, I think Hobi hyung is getting a little, just a little, too excited. Nevertheless, I am also extremely excited for the Grammys. I sincerely hope we win the award; I know ARMY is highly anticipating this and such an accomplishment would obviously gain us the admiration and acknowledgment of many around the world. I saw Namjoon hyung walking towards me. He is probably here to remind me about our schedule or something. 

'Oh my god, when will this day end?'

"Jimin, we have our Dallyeora Bangtan's shooting today after lunch. Let's meet up in the shooting room at 2:30, okay?" he said. 

"Yeah okay hyung." I replied. 

"Oh and also, Taehyung said he was waiting for you in the cafeteria. It seems like he wanted to eat lunch with you."

"Ohh ok, I'll go right down hyung."

I started walking to the cafeteria. Normally, everyone goes by themselves for lunch, since they are always busy with their individual work, but I guess Taehyung is free for lunch today. 

"Hey Jimin. You look worn out ... Did you practice extra today?" Taehyung asked me.

"Yeah, well, I needed to practice. What did you do today?"

"I finished recording my part for Film Out. I still have to practice for the Dynamite performance. Oh god, I seriously have no idea when we'd get a break Jimin."

"Don't ask me Tae, I'm waiting for that too." I replied. 

After we grabbed our lunch, both of us made our way to the film studio. We were the last ones to go there, and the time was only 2:15. 

"Were you guys waiting for us?" Taehyung asked.

"No hyung, it's only been five minutes. Don't worry, you weren't late." Jungkook answered.

"Yeah okay, now since everyone's here, let's get started guys." We heard the cameraman say, from behind us.

"Okay, I'm so tired today guys. I need to go home and-" Yoongi hyung yawned midway.

"-sleep." 

His eyes were drowsy, as he threw himself on the blue couch. He also looked like he had a headache. 

We worked so hard today, with the Grammy performance in a month, the Film Out MV also releasing in a month, and our Run BTS shootings going on, we are completely exhausted. Everyone were very busy today, and all that we wanted was to go home and relax. 

"Hyung, let's just call it a day, huh?" Namjoon hyung suggested.

"Ahh, yes, please hyung, let's do that." Jungkook requested. He worked the most among all of us; he did everything on the same day, dance practice, recording, shooting. He even took some English lessons today. He must be the most exhausted among us.

"Yes Namjoon, let's just pack up for today." Jin hyung also chimed in. It's rare for Jin hyung to say he's tired, so when he says that, he must be really, really tired.

"Okay guys, let's go then. Should we clean up?" Namjoon hyung asked the staff. We try to clean up after ourselves, since we make a big mess on every Run BTS episode shooting. 

"It's okay, you guys sound really drained. Go home and get some rest, we'll take care of this." one of the staff member said. 

'Whew, thank god. I mean, I'm not lazy, I'm just extremely tired today.'

"Thank you so much everyone. We'll make sure to owe it up to you someway." Namjoon hyung said, as we all bowed and left the room one by one.

"Okay guys, I'm going home. See you tomorrow!" Jin hyung said, before he left in his car.

"Yeah okay hyung, I'm also leaving guys. Good night everyone." Yoongi hyung muttered, before he too left.

"Bye hyungs, meet you tomorrow." added Jungkook, as he got into his car.

"Ok bye guys, I'm going to head home too." I spoke, as I bid goodbye to them. 

I walked towards my car and sat inside. I asked my driver to drive us home. Neither am I in the mood to eat dinner nor do I have the energy. I had a heavy lunch anyway.

I entered my apartment and tossed my jacket on the couch. I walked as quickly as possible to my bedroom and threw myself onto the bed. I am way too tired today, but I guess it isn't new to me.

I've been coming exhausted almost everyday recently. Working late has become my routine. It's not that I like overexerting myself, but I don't necessarily have another choice. Don't get me wrong, I truly love my profession and I'm highly passionate about music and dance. But it just gets too tiring some days.

However, I'm okay with working this hard, because it's something I love doing. I love music and working on it. I enjoy improving in that aspect, and constantly try to get better with my singing and dancing skills.

Maybe that's how it is for everyone. When you do something related to an activity you love, you never feel the strain. Since you love it, you would try to get through as many hurdles as possible, to achieve what you want to. You treasure the thing you love and pursue it as much as possible.

Maybe that's why I treasure music so much.

If only I could have treasured other things as well.
