The white blossoms on the trees on the other side of the train tracks are beautiful. They remind him of the trees that used to be at the bottom of their street before things went wrong and his parents decided to send him and Maddie away.

Buck hasn’t seen his sister for years. He still thinks about her, looks for signs of her in the reflection of his own face. The only friendly face he’s seen for years too.

The orphanage hadn’t been very fond of his appreciation of blossoms or bugs or flowers and certainly not the raccoon he’d tried to tame. They didn’t care for his love of words both written and spoken. They didn’t much care for him.

That’s all behind him now. He’s been sent somewhere they actually want him. A home in Avonlea. A real home with people who want a son.

Buck’s been waiting for a while now but he remains confident that Robert Nash will be along soon to collect him and take him to Green Gables. Buck doesn’t mind waiting the view is too lovely, if Mr Nash doesn’t make it before dark Buck thinks he might try sleeping in the branches of one of those trees. That would be nice.

His thoughts and plans are disrupted by the sound of a horse and cart pulling up.

ME, MYSELF, and I feel that the way Tommy was acting so nonchalant will foreshadow how uncaring he will be in the situationship with Buck. 🫣

Tommy didn't seem excited or eager to go on that date with Buck. 🫥

He ran away instantly. Bring up the fact that he has to work, and then backing awaking from Buxk, to me, is a way to show that he already wants "out" of the relationship. 😭
