Atsumu could feel his eyes drooping as the prerecorded voice droned on above him, the darkness of the theatre didn’t help either. It’s not that he didn’t care for your interests or the sky and its billions of planets and stars you loved to read about. He just never had a knack for science. As uninterested he may be, the way you murmured bits and pieces of commentary as if conversing with the announcement made his boredom worthwhile.

“‘Tsumu look aren’t they so pretty?” You whispered in his ear, pointing eagerly at one of the dots that littered the roof. They all looked the same to him but he’d never tell you that. He enjoyed your energetic, contagious smile far too much to ever ruin your fun. Atsumu nodded, content to let you pull him through the rest of the exhibit.

“Did you know these type of stars turn into supergiants after they’ve run out of hydrogen in their core, which basically means—”

“‘Tsumu was what that for?” You squirmed in his hold, more pleasantly surprised than upset at the arms wrapped snugly around your waist.

“You’re just so cute when you talk about this stuff I couldn’t help myself.” You could’ve been speaking in an entirely different language to him but he didn’t care. He wasn’t lying when he said you looked cute. Your smile grew impossibly brighter every time you found another part of the exhibit that you liked. You chose to share your passion with him and his heart swelled at the thought. His smile effortlessly mirrored yours as the two of you walked hand in hand through the rest of the museum.

“He literally crushed all of them in like, five seconds! Did you see it, did you see it?”

You were oddly quiet across from him on the couch. Usually, you matched his enthusiasm with your own, especially when the two of you settled in to watch one of your favorite shows. Tendou turned to question your behavior and was faced with your sleeping form. He blinked owlishly, the ongoing fight blaring on the screen before the two of you nothing but background noise as he gently prodded your cheek. 

“Yup, just as I thought. Completely asleep.”

A fond smile pulled at his lips. He knew you had a tiring day yet you still met him with a bright grin and a box from his favorite shop. Your own slice lay cold and half-eaten on a plate that precariously balanced on your knees. In your completely exhausted state, you still fought to spend time with him. 

“You know, if you were too tired to watch anime today you could’ve just said so.” He turned off the tv and moved to pick up the discarded cutlery and forgotten food. Even now, as disheveled as you may have looked, Tendou couldn’t help but fall in love with you a little more.

“This one? Are you sure?”

You nodded feverishly, your smile wide as you pulled Osamu through the ride’s entrance gate.

“I’ve been waiting to go on this forever! I think they renovated it last year and added a bunch of new stuff to—”

You screamed as a creature popped out of a stand on your left, practically falling into your boyfriend in your haste to move away.

“You were saying?” His eyes held the laughter he didn’t vocalize for the sake of your pride though you didn’t appreciate it nonetheless.

“It’s not funny ‘Samu.”

“It was, just a bit though don’t worry. Finish telling me about the rides and stuff, you’re the amusement park expert after all.”

You rolled your eyes at him but appreciated the distraction nonetheless. Your excitement grew as the words flowed and you moved closer to the front of the line. However, your excitement didn’t last once you were securely strapped into the seat and roaring down the metal tracks.

You wavered as you stepped off, clutching onto your boyfriend for support.

“You’re right that was absolutely amazing, we should go again!”

He turned to take in your wobbly smile and brought you into a hug.

“Come on, where’d that enthusiasm go? You were so pumped to go, what happened?”

You frowned at the teasing edge to his voice, and it only deepened at the consequent smirk he sent your way.

“It’s… a lot different than I remember that’s for sure.”

“I’m sorry babe, let’s go on something else.”

Osamu moved to walk away, not before you gripped his hand. He smiled gently, weaving your fingers with his.

“Don’t worry, I’ll stay by your side no matter what.”

Kuroo blinked owlishly as you exited the theater, wincing at the harsh sunlight as well as the awful gory movie scenes that flashed through his mind every time he closed his eyes.

“Tetsu, that was incredible! You know I thought the movie would be a waste of ticket money because the trailer was absolutely boring but I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised don’t you agree?”

Your words faltered once you caught sight of his pale, viridescent complexion. He held your hand tightly, squeezing it every so often when you mentioned a particularly horrifying part of the movie. A grin stretched across your lips. He wasn’t paying attention to your excited ramblings, not that you could blame him. You leaned close and whisper-yelled ‘boo’ in his ear. Kuroo all but jumped out of his skin, his once fearful expression melted into a scowl as he realized you were the culprit.

“Don’t tell me I scared you, Tetsu?”

“You? Scare me? Don’t make me laugh, babe, I’m not scared of anything,” he scoffed, though his balmy, nervous disposition indicated otherwise.

“If you say so… But really, did the movie make you uncomfortable? If you didn’t want to watch it you could’ve just said so I’ll gladly—”

“Hold up, you really wanted to watch it so of course, I’d go with you! What kind of boyfriend would I be if I didn’t? I just don’t like… whatever that was.”

You smiled at his words and feeble bravado, planting a kiss on his cheek.

“You’re right, I really appreciate your effort and I’m sorry you had to sit through all that. Could I make it up to you with some boba?”

He visibly brightened at your offer, looping your hand with his to pull you along in his speedwalking. 

“Most definitely, there’s this new place a few blocks away I’ve been meaning to go to for a while now. Let’s go!”

“It’ll be gone before we get there.”

You stuck your tongue out at him, turning away to carefully dab at the melting treat dripping through your fingers. You were too focused on the watery syrup sticking the napkin to your fingers you nearly tripped on a stray bag. Before you could recover Oikawa was doubled over in laughter, wiping away at fake tears that threatened to spill.

“You know,” he raised his hand to his chin, contemplating your words. “I think it actually is.”

You knew better than to argue the point, he’d stubbornly insist he’s in the right just to see frustration bubble over your features. Once, halfway through the nth argument of the day, you had asked him why he went to such lengths in the first place. In an inexplicably charming manner, he responded that you were cute when you tried to match his stubbornness. His words defused your ire completely and left you speechless.

“If you keep walking that slow we’ll never make it in time, you know?” The pout accompanying his words was irrevocably adorable, you couldn’t resist the giggle that sprouted in your chest.

“Stop complaining Tooru, we’ll get there,” you managed in between fits of laughter, earning an overexaggerated frown from your boyfriend.

“Who’s laughing now, huh?”

“That’s karma for you.” You took a final bite from your dessert, waving your empty hands in victory.

“See, all gone, and we made it on time!” You pointed to your pair of beach chairs precariously stationed near the shore, perfectly poised to watch the sunset. Oikawa shook his head at your eagerness and sat down, pulling you alongside with him.

“At least tell me the ice cream was worth it, it was too good to miss!”

“Any time spent with you is always worthwhile.”

Coming from anyone else, your response would’ve been full of warm reassurance but you couldn’t help but giggle at the sight next to you. Iwaizumi all but clung to your arm, legs wobbling comically as he shuffled forward alongside you. He looked like a young child stepping on the ice for the first time, fearful and cautiously excited.

“Hey, stop laughing this isn’t funny!” His words held no bite to them, not when the smile on his lips was charmingly wide.

“I’m sorry Haji but you look really funny,” you managed to choke out in between peals of laughter, earning a soft glare from your boyfriend.

“But don’t worry, I won’t let go of your hand. I’ll stay with you as long as you’ll let me.” Your words held a certain weight he couldn’t decipher then, so he settled for squeezing your fingers between his and planting a gentle kiss to your temple. This time, he was the one to pull you forward on the ice, snickering at the surprise on your features. Together you settled into a steady pace, teasing each other all the while never detaching your hand from his.

Bakugou didn’t care about the stars, not really. Floating balls of gas millions of miles away weren’t his primary concern at the moment. All he could think of was the way your hand felt in his. You had intertwined your fingers with his to catch his attention and point towards a shape in the sky he couldn’t quite discern.

After a while, you turned your focus back to the glimmering lights, chatting softly about some constellation or another. You didn’t pull your hand away, and Bakugou wouldn’t dream of doing so. Not after you gave him the brightest grin when he draped a blanket across your shoulders and drew you close. He sipped from his mug as he listened to you, enthralled by the radiant gleam in your eyes that eclipsed every brilliant star you spoke of.

“Where should we go next?”

Tsukishima shrugged, sipping from a cup of bubble tea the two of you had just bought. Under the brilliant illumination of the night sky, the possibilities were endless. Your eyes lit up as you pointed to something across the street and pulled him towards it.

“Tsukki look at this!”

The two of you landed in front of a small, worn-down store. Though it wasn’t as grand as the few you’d visited earlier that day, it was open late and the odd sign at the door promised intriguing curios inside. You dashed in before he could even ask you what you found so interesting, but he followed you regardless.

All the rooms you traversed through led to an open-air atrium with a small garden at its center. Soft music chimed through old speakers and Tsukishima surprised you and himself when he took your hands in his and led you through a clumsy waltz. Though he felt absolutely ridiculous every second he spent twirling with you, it was all worth it to see your smile and laugh about who stepped on whose toes.

As ambitious and driven as Kuroo can be, he’s come to appreciate the calmer evenings with you. His favorite moment of the evening is when he gets to surprise you as soon as he gets home. He’ll wrap his arms around your waist and marvel at the utter trust you’d have to have in him to melt in his hold the way you did. It’d become a bit of a tradition, so much so you stopped jolting in surprise when you felt him press a kiss to your neck, your shoulders, wherever he reached first.

The two of you would settle into a familiar rhythm, weaving around the kitchen with some soft music in the background. Kuroo would most certainly find a way to disrupt your calm cooking, be it by dusting your nose with flour or wiping a trail of custard down your cheek. Kuroo wishes he could feel apologetic, but the irritated look on your face was always worth it. He’ll be sure to make it up to you after dinner by pulling you with him to the couch for some well-deserved cuddles!

The sky was still dark as the two of you trekked, Iwaizumi occasionally pointing out a plant along the path or a creature you chanced upon and listing off innocuous facts associated with them. The look of barely contained excitement in his eyes was unshakable and absolutely thrilling. You barely kept up with his energetic strides as he all but pulled you down the trail. Sure Iwaizumi was a pretty active person but you couldn’t help but be surprised at his boundless energy.

“Haji, are we there yet?” The two of you had been on countless trails together but this one was foreign to you. Iwaizumi said nothing as he continued, your curiosity bounding to new heights with every passing second.

“Haji—”

“Just look.”

You broke through a brush into a clearing, jaw dropping at the clearest, barest glimpse of the sun along the horizon before you. He’d taken you up to the highest peak in the city, a minuscule smirk playing on his lips as he pulled you in for a hug.

“I wanted to take you somewhere special today. This has been my favorite trail ever since I was a kid and I wanted to share that with you since you’re a special person in my life. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I’ve enjoyed our time together.”
