How the gang would be like in modern times.

Kinda basing this off of texts I have with my friends because I get reminding everyday that my old friend group (kinda still my friend group.) are like the gang.

He would have like an iPhone 6 in 2020. And he would be so upset about it. But he wouldn’t complain cause his brother didn’t have money for him to have an iPhone 11 or something.

He uses every platform to text. He probably only texts like Johnny and sometimes Dally.

Johnny and him would FT for hours and during them be like “look what I sent you.” And then proceeded to a meme.

Still a whiny baby boy but 2020 edition

Didn’t pay attention to politics cause he isn’t voting so he has no say. :/

Would probably watch anime- but like mainstream.

Has two instagram accounts one for public people he knew and a secret one to post what he wanted cause Darry probably looked into his phone-

Tries to show Darry how to use a smartphone. Darry won’t understand it. But he tried.

Track team until COVID hit 🙄

Hated virtual learning. HATED IT.

Especially when Darry didn’t have work that day he would peep into Soda and Pony’s room to see him on his desk on a call.

Pony putting his arm down shooing him away. “Darry...I’m in class please shh.” “Don’t worry bout me I’m just listening. Making sure these teachers actually are teaching ya.”

Somehow went brain dumb with this type of learning some days so when a teacher would ask him to answer something he would mute and turn off the camera or leave the call.

He was happy when he did know the answer a certain day.

Texts Ponyboy and Dally pretty evenly. Though Pony would start being whiny when he didn’t answer. Johnny also probably had an older phone like an iPhone 6 or se maybe even an LG but he wouldn’t complain. He was just fine with having a phone. At least it worked.

Has a whole Instagram account about memes. Pony probably helps manage it.

Watches anime with Pony cause he finds it interesting. Does he understand what’s going on? No not at all but if Pony likes it then it’s okay.

Does really like Naruto though-

He hates school. It’s bad enough he skipped it most days. But now ITS AT HOME SO HE HAD NO EXCUSE TO NOT DO IT!

He would usually join the zoom calls but he kept his camera off and was on mute. His parents were probably arguing-

Some days he could be with Pony at his house and did his zooms from there.

Pony spamming him to join the class.

Pony: “Johnny Mr Fullb-“

Johnny: “I’m about to join just be patient pony.”

Dally sent him a nude once and he was SCARED. Dally used social media for that purpose but we will get more into that later-

He apologized a lot btw-

FT calls were fun cause he would put his phone in a certain position and do work and Pony being high on adrenaline would run around his room and you could see it on camera. It was funny.

My manz always texted Ponyboy when he was to lazy to speak.

Texted a lot of people cause he was that guy. But mainly Steve, Sandy (when they were still a thing.), Darry, and Pony.

His IG was filled with nice pics of him and girls just commenting about how handsome he was. He got annoyed of it at a point and turned off the comment section.

Probably had tiktok and made Pony get it.

Had a free subscription of Spotify and my boy loved his music.

Texting pony is like.: “Hey could you tell Darry that I got the eggs he needed earlier.” Pony never told him. Darry got home with a carton of eggs and started yelling that they wasted money on extra eggs. And Pony stood there after hours of finally looking at the text and would just back up.

Random girls dming asking if he was single.

It made him uncomfortable.

But Steve would grab his phone and say random things to the girls and they’d leave him alone.

He didn’t understand Pony’s memes but liked them cause they were on his page.

He or Darry probably asked later on what it meant.

“Uh-huh.” Is the response after Pony took an hour explaining it.

Still didn’t get it.

Followed every single person he knew or liked on Instagram or any platform.

“PONY CAN I USE YOUR HOTSPOT MY INTERNET ISNT WORKING!!!”

Pony just yelled back sure.

this was very close to making the original list. i like the soft lighting and the kind of floofy hair, yet he still looks like he could absolutely fuck me up (both like in a fight and various other ways). this photo gets me thinking some thoughts ™ if i am being honest

a literal saint and god amongst men right here. his brown eyes are so soft and his little smile puts me at ease. this is a man who would treat me right (fact). this photo is also from quite deep into the playoffs so the beard is going a little wild, and whilst i’m glad it isn’t like this all of the time, i very much appreciate it when it’s around.

okay this is just cute. they look like 2 dads who aren’t entirely sure how to take a selfie but are willing to try. the outfits lend this a slightly chaotic energy - i can’t commend zee’s colour combo if i’m honest, and when juxtaposed with the plaid shirt it kind of hurts my head. but it adds to the dad energy so i still love it. also this is from chara’s ig and the caption is super sweet.

DADS WITH THEIR KIDS ALWAYS GETS ME. i don’t even want kids, nor do i particularly like them, but seeing a man with his child is the cutest thing in the world and this, predictably, is no exception. patrice’s son 100% has his eyes which is really cute. speaking of patrice’s eyes, he may be smiling here but if you look into his eyes all you will see is fear - that child does not appear too bothered about remaining upright on the ice, and i suspect thay bergy is concerned about this. it would be criminal for me to not comment on the jeans. bergy has some exceptional thighs as these jeans do an excellent job of highlighting that.

this is Hot, and i’m not accepting criticism on that opinion. the crisp white shirt w no jacket or tie, and the top buttons undone???? i need a lie down. the hands are also making a nice appearance which i can always appreciate. basically what i’m saying is that i’m jealous of that snake this is an excellent photo and i owe the bruins instagram person a drink for posting it.

do you remember when i said bergy had marvellous thighs? well take a fucking sip babes - they’re like tree trunks carved out of carrara marble. if i have to die i want it to be because they crushed my skull. this is also one of the clearest photos i’ve seen of his tattoo, so it has that going for it too ( sidenote if anyone has an image with literally a pixel of his tattoo pls send it my way, i’m getting desperate at this point). i also think men in jewellery is a good look so i’m digging his beaded bracelets and silver chain. fantastic picture all round.

yeah okay there’s no escaping that the main reason this one made the list is 🍑. it’s exquisite. those pants also do a great job on the thighs too. the hair, socked feet (no i dont have a fetish i just think ppl in their socks with no shoes is kind of funny), and hands get an honourable mention

in the interest of being polite, i will describe this look as rugged. he has probably objectively looked better but i just like this photo and awful lot.

i don’t think i can give any commentary on this without saying something genuinely not suitable for public eyes. the 2 things i will say are: the only thing keeping me going completely feral horny looking at this is those pants,, if they were black or navy i’d be dead; and patrice i am begging you to do up a few more buttons on your shirt or remove it completely or i’m not going to live much longer.

My history and growing love with Emarosa

I’ve made a few posts on Instagram about this band, but there’s only so much that I can actually write in a caption, and it never seemed to do justice (maybe a full blog post won’t either because I’ve been shit with words recently, but it’s worth a try).

I’ve been a fan of Emarosa since 2014. I’ve always known them since Bradley has been in the band, when their album Versus was just coming out. I was 15, and my boyfriend at the time was a little older and could drive, so he was always the one in charge of the music. At the time I think I was almost exclusively listening to Mayday Parade and the other bands along that line -- I was not one to get out of my comfort zone and I’m still one to forget the groups/bands that my friends recommend me. So, when Versus came out he was absolutely stoked. He downloaded it and we listened to it on long drives. He lived about half an hour away, so if we ever went to his house, or anywhere around where he lived, it was just enough time to listen to the whole Emarosa album. I was hesitant at first, but I loved it. He’d show me other music, but I’d ask him to put on Emarosa. Sianvar? Later. Chon? Later. I want to listen to Versus.

The breakup with this person was very toxic and volatile. Something I will not go into detail (not the point of this post, and despite the breakup, I still have respect for him), but to put into perspective, there are many things that I stopped doing, places I stopped going due to association. I do not go to his hometown, I don’t go to diners he and I went together, I just removed anything that would make me think of him, and in turn, make me sad. There was a bit of a lull where I didn’t listen to much music, but I remember eventually I wondered what Emarosa was up to, and I saw that 131 was out. And hoo, if I thought that I liked Versus, 131 was a different story. There was not a single song on this album that I did not like, and I could tell you within the first 15-30 seconds which song it was. There was something reignited, some sort of drive and love I forgot that I had. Which some people will think is stupid -- it’s just a band -- but they meant so much to me. This was one thing my ex-boyfriend didn’t take from me, and it made me feel so liberated and powerful. Free, individual. The love for this band was created from him, but was now mine.

Emarosa came around my hometown in 2017, at a venue about an hour away. A friend of mine, Alex, who knew I loved them, went with me and I paid for VIP tickets for the both of us. She didn’t know anything about them or their music, and was essentially going so she could transport me, but she’s been my concert company for years and she knew that this one was especially important to me. This was my opportunity to meet the group, see the faces of the people who helped me find my individuality. Who saved my life, after one of the worst relationships of my life. Funny enough, my friend and I ended up being the only two with VIP. The girl who hosted the VIP, Becca White, was the sweetest (I still remember you and follow you, girl. I wish I’d thanked you in the moment for dealing with my nervous self). She walked us to the downstairs hall, where the guys were hanging out. I’m almost embarrassed, but I don’t think I’d seen or registered their faces before. They came up and hugged us, and I just remember being frozen in place with this stupid shit-eating grin on my face. They were so friendly, so lovely. They asked how we knew about them (Alex was honest and said she was just the transportation, and that’ll come into place later), and I made a joke about how I learned about them through a boyfriend, dumped the boyfriend but couldn’t dump the band. I don’t remember much, mostly because I was starstruck, had so much to say but didn’t want to be overwhelming. Part of the VIP experience was an acoustic song, and the one thing I remember is requesting an older song that was one of their lesser known ones, and they apologized because they couldn’t play it, so they played Sure (still a banger and also jokes on 18 year old me for being an edgy indie bitch who exclusively liked and requested a lesser known song on a 3-year old album). I sat there and quietly sang and harmonized along with the biggest smile on my face -- which I will say, was one of the most awkward things ever. It’s so much easier to sing when you’re drowned out, but when you’re face to face with people you’ve idolized for years, singing alone made me freeze in place. But it truly was one of those moments where you realize the people you idolize are just people (and fortunately enough in this situation, good people -- which is hard in the music scene nowadays).

The biggest thing that struck me wasn’t even the VIP part. It was after the show. I got to meet their drummer Brent and touring bassist Robert (which is now their permanent bassist, which makes me so happy), and Brent gave me one of his drumsticks after noticing me in the front. But like I’d said previously, Alex had never listened to Emarosa before, she actually didn’t know any of the people who were playing this show, and went solely for the sake of me. Alex is also not the most expressive woman, so while we were both in the front near the speakers and I was dancing/singing to every song, she was stood there with her arms crossed. We stopped by to say hi to the members of the other bands, and say hi again to Bradley, who immediately recognized us. He asked Alex if she had a good time, and if she was alright, because she was so stone faced. He gave her a big hug after she promised she enjoyed herself and would listen to more of their music when we got home. He was genuinely concerned with her time there, which I wouldn’t have expected from someone who has so many fans. But they actually care, which I think about and bring up to this friend regularly with Alex (even 2 years later).

As I’m writing this, Peach Club is coming out soon and they’ve released three singles that have all been absolute bangers. This band has released nothing but amazing music for years, all while being genuinely good people. I have such an appreciation for them, and wanted to express it somehow.
