hi anon!! listen, this year i realized i really haven't read a ton of christmas fics and i'm trying to rectify that. i can't give you any recs of any fics i've finished reading, but there is a list of christmas stevetony fics i'm reading/plan to read this year. these fics were recc'ed to me by fellow stevetonies <3 merry christmas / happy holidays! 🎄 1. In 1867, Tony Stark flees New York after refusing to marry the alpha his parents chose for him. His money runs out in the small kingdom of Dacia, ruled over by King Steven of the Rogers line. Somehow, and he’s not entirely sure how, he ends up accepting the position of nanny to the king’s four children: Harley, Peter, Sarah, and Morgan. Tony bonds with the children easily but their father is harder to get to know. Steve is still grieving his wife’s death four years earlier. His continued mourning has turned the once bright halls into dark and somber shadows of their former glory. Tony isn’t entirely certain what he can do but he knows that he has to do something or else the whole country, so attuned to their leader, will sink into despair. He begins by reconciling the king with his young children. Meanwhile, the children have decided that it’s high time their father fall in love again—and Tony is the obvious choice. They concoct elaborate plans to force the two together, hardly realizing that Steve and Tony are falling in love, not through their shenanigans but through the quiet moments they share bonding over the love they have for the children.

Although Tony typically makes it a point to avoid anything that could be reasonably classified as Pepper-approved self-betterment, he will be making an exception this year in the form of a list of New Year’s Resolutions. —Well, not so much a list, exactly, it’s more like one very loud, very obvious, very critical proposition. He’s gonna write it down, put it on his calendar, say it to Jesus, and do whatever the fuck normal people do to make these things happen. In fact, even though they’re only halfway through December, it’s already emblazoned in his mind in big, flashing neon letters: STOP SLEEPING WITH EX-HUSBAND. This is possibly an inappropriate thought to have while said ex-husband is pushing him up against his apartment door and trying to get his hand down Tony’s pants, but Tony has admittedly never excelled at being appropriate.

3. 'Tis the Damn Season by picturecat

It’s the kind of cold that fogs up windshield glass.

Tony is home for the holidays…one last time.

4. If the Fates Allow by @bladeofthenebula27

“I saw him, Rhodey,” Tony blurted out miserably. “I saw him.”

“Oh wow, how was it?”

“Awful,” Tony moaned. “He has a beard now. A lush lumberjack beard, and muscles for days.”

Rhodey made a sympathetic noise. “Yeah man, I saw it last time I was home. It is pretty luscious.”

Tony Stark left Iron Valley, determined never to return - but it seemed fate had other ideas.

When his father passes away and leaves him the family toy factory, Tony must go home and face up to his responsibilities and the man who broke his heart.

If Steven's gem is the size of his entire skull as a teenager, how did it fit inside his head as a baby? Did the gem start small and then grow with him?

Do you think UT would truly allow any harm to come to Our!Ciel? And do you think he cares for him at all? He appears to be actively working against him in the story currently alongside Real!Ciel, and Our!Ciel is working to shut down his bizarre doll operations. But, at the end of the day he is still a member of the Phantomhive family, and Vincent’s son, no less. The contrast between his dedication to the Phantomhive family and his constant conflict with Our!Ciel makes me question what his real end goal here is. What do you think it is?

Undertaker's feelings and plans

1. He might allow it. Depending on how you define "harm"... he might even plan on doing some, though I don't think he would see it as harm.

2. Yes, I do think he cares about our earl. It's just that his methods for trying to save the remaining Phantomhives are highly questionable. Undertaker seems to be losing touch with reality, in some ways, probably due to some interruption or halt in his grieving process... which is rather ironic, given his choice of profession as an undertaker.

3. There are many ways this could go, but the way he sees the twins as essentially the same -- it doesn't matter too much to him which is which -- he might think it's perfectly reasonable to combine them and make them "one", as if he's putting two halves together to make a whole. Our earl has a soul, but his body is sort of weak from recurring bouts of asthma. Real Ciel would have a strong body (once Undertaker perfects his reanimating techniques), but he no longer has a soul. Combining our earl's soul with real Ciel's body might strike him as some sort of perfection. The Ultimate Bizarre Doll -- or Ultimate Doll -- if you will. This would, in his mind, have the added bonus of removing our earl's soul from a body that's marked with a demon contract. He might think that doing this would make the contract null and void. I don't think it would work as well as he would hope....

(There also is a fox clone (Lollipop) She is part Arctic Fox! There currently isn't any other types of foxes yet, but likely to change now that I mentioned it kjgfdkfg)

Could you possibly make a fankid for Earl Grey and Esterhazy? I imagine the pair having a relationship similar to Morticia and Gomez Adams, and also that Earl adopted the Chess Choco twins.

So I’m gonna be real, I’m not entirely sure what her character is. Originally when I was making her, I was just thinking she was a big girl who likes being fancy but has a really big and buff body that she she’s not the most fond of

Which I’m realizing is still fine, it’s just that as I was drawing her outfit I got a different vibe, particularly like a school/academy theme? But I don’t know if she’d be a student or a teacher. But now her colors remind me of the Holiday Express, so now I’m saying she works there

But yeah, I don’t have the most solid ideas for her character, sorry

Oh and also that she used to be much smaller as a child

Anyways, on to design things

So first off, her original name was going to be Medovik Cookie, that being a light colored cake, and she was generally going to be more Cookie based, with me trying to figure out how to mix werehound traits, but then I had remembered seeing someone else’s fankids involving Choco Werehound Brute, and so I thought “why don’t I make mine more werehound like?” And so in the process her name changed from Medovik Cookie to Cremeschnitte

And similarly to Medovik, that’s her name because it was a light colored cake

So I realize that her dough color is lighter and more yellow than either Earl Grey or Esterhazy, but I made it that color because of how yellow the reference cake was. Though to be honest it ends up reminding me more of the regular Cake Hounds, especially with the white on top

The only real Cookie mixing I gave her was trying to make her snout less rectangular and have the top be more circular, if that makes sense. Also her lacking the ears or whatever Esterhazy has. I also feel like I may have made her head a bit too big, but I mean, I guess it works with her half Cookie status?

Also for my first time drawing a werehound, I don’t think I did that bad. Though granted, plenty of her body is covered by other things, so I don’t know how good it’d look doing it again

Honestly her hair required a lot of minor tweaking because it kept just looking off to me. Her hair was also supposed to be like some sort of braid, but I don’t know how well that came off. But overall looking at the final product, I think her hair looks nice

As for her outfit, I was kind of just making stuff up as I go, all I really had was that she wore a dress, and everything else just kind of happened along the way

But overall, I think she turned out quite well, and I hope you like her too!

How do you think the Mikaelson’s lives would have turned out had they been human?

Sorry for the delay in answering! I forgot this one was in my drafts.

It's really hard to say since we know so little about their human lives. When we see flashbacks, we mostly see the bad parts of it. Mainly Mikael's anger. But each Mikaelson also reflects fondly on parts of their human lives.

Part of my writing takes place during their human lives so I spend a lot of time thinking about what their lives were actually like past the small glimpses we see. I also like to think about the trajectory of their lives because I think it makes it all the more devastating how their lives turned out. I honestly think they would have had good lives.

I really don't know what Finn would have been doing since we see so little of his personality outside of his attachment to Esther. But because of this attachment I feel like he would potentially never marry. Esther feared brining Dahlia to them and would have tried to prevent any of them from having children. But I also like to imagine Finn would have met someone like Sage who would have captured his attention and he would have run off with her. I don't see Finn ever being close to his siblings, so he likely would have been the first to leave and not look back. I truly think that would be best for him. To start his own family and his own life away from the pain of losing Freya.

Elijah would have married Tatia and become a step-father to her son. Esther would have been thrilled because it gave Elijah the chance to have a child without triggering Dahlia's deal. She likely would have tried to do something to prevent any more kids. But Tatia and Elijah would have had a nice, simple life together and would have been incredibly happy.

I think Klaus would have been better off. While we see him struggle with his werewolf temper and his trauma from his childhood, he would have had more of a chance to work through it. Being on the run from Mikael and having his anger/mental illness exacerbated by vampirism pushed Klaus down a dark path. I like to think at some point, Klaus and Elijah would have felt strong enough to challenge Mikael. Mikael would have gotten older and Klaus and Elijah would have become more prominent members of the village. Klaus standing up to his abuser would have given him the closure he never had in his thousand years. He would have met someone, fallen in love, had a family, and hopefully have stopped the cycle of abuse rather than falling into it.

Kol, I could also see leaving the village. Traveling the world and finding witches to share his knowledge and learn. He would have written home and visited occasionally, but found his love for adventure and exploration elsewhere. Likely gotten married to some witch he met along the way. They would have travelled and raised their kids away from the small village he grew up in.

Rebekah would have had the life she wanted. Gotten married and had kids as well. She would have stayed close to Klaus and Elijah. She would have been a dotting aunt to their children and meddled in their lives.

Mikael would have eventually died, whether naturally or not, and I think they would have been able to slowly repair their relationships with their mother. Especially if Klaus would have been able to have a relationship with Ansel as he got old enough to understand the dangers of Mikael finding out.

Henrik would be alive. We don't know a lot about him but I always felt like he was a lot like Kol. The youngest, wild brothers, always getting into trouble and Elijah having to clean it up.

Someone likely would have had a kid and brought Dahlia to them which would be interesting. Freya would defend her siblings but wouldn't have much help outside of Kol or Esther. It would be interesting to see Esther actually use offensive magic. Although from how Dahlia was hyped up in TO, I don't think they would be super successful. It would have been beautiful for Esther and Dahlia to repair their relationship as well. Both of them realizing the pain and hardship the other has been through. I would have loved Esther and Dahlia to team up against Mikael and then have the safe and happy family they always desired.

Hi! I've noticed that OCiel destroys any photos of himself and RCiel - since he's doing this, do you think he could be trying to rewrite history so that history believes that Vincent and Rachel Phantomhive had only one child, Ciel Phantomhive? He does say that he believes that he should have died in his brothers place during the ritual, and I just think it's sad that after his death, after Sebastian takes his soul, the only proof of his existence would be the memories of the people who knew him - since there's no photos of him anywhere, and all of his achievements would be in the name of 'Ciel Phantomhive', his brother.

Some people knew there was a twin, like Tanaka, Madam Red, Chlaus, the Midfords, etc. So, he couldn't completely erase his own existence. But he could keep newer people from knowing, and perhaps that made it a bit easier for him to pretend he's his older brother? But idk why he adamantly wouldn't let the newer people know about the existence of a younger twin while he played older twin. Maybe it would have put him in a situation where he'd be more likely to slip out of his role as "Ciel". He does it occasionally, anyway, but not too many people catch it (except Tanaka, I'm sure). It's quite possible he really wishes he could get rid of his own true existence. 😞

Brain rot has smacked me with Rose x Earl Grey fanchild,if you want to ofc :]

Finally done with this one, this guy is Rose Tea Cookie

He’s named after rose petal tea, since well, Rose is roses, and it’s a tea like Earl Grey. Pretty simple

Rose petal tea (disclaimer I kept getting different colors of rose petal tea on Google Images, so I don’t know how accurate this is)

So I actually started on Rose Tea months ago, but I got stuck on her dress, since it was flowing but she was sitting. A common problem for me. Here’s as far as I got (disregard the top sketch)

Then later on, when I was asking for help on fankids, I was writing down Rose Tea, and I was saying I had thought Rose Tea should be a girl, and I thought about it and was like “well…Rose Tea doesn’t HAVE to be a girl”. And after making the post I started getting brain blasts about Rose Tea as a boy, and here we are

And also because if that journey, I kind of now want to make him transmasc in his canon, like he really did start out a girl but transitioned into a man

I have to admit, I didn’t actually need the rough sketch, I just made it because I wanted his eyes to be closed, and I wanted something that showed them open. He originally had more lashes but I took some of them off because I thought it made him look too much like a girl

I was debating whether or not I should have his hair just be red. As you can see in the top sketch of the old Rose Tea, one option was this light pink. I think it works as a good mix of Rose and Earl Grey’s hair colors, but it didn’t fit Rose Tea’s color scheme so I just left it as an alternate. Maybe if I make another they can have the pink hair (though I doubt I will)

Also I’m just realizing Rose and old Rose Tea have thicker eyebrows that I forgot. Oops

Anyways, so initially, Rose Tea’s suit was just black with some red accents, but I thought it was too few colors, so after playing around I got what I have now. I kind of wish his outfit had more black but oh well

Yeah I think that’s about it. Let’s move on to his character

Okay truth be told I don’t really have much. I think he’s like some sort of butler type? He’s a fancy guy, but I don’t know what exactly he is

What I do know is he can brew a mean cup of tea. If he works at Earl Grey’s hotel then it’s his specialty

He’s a very polite and mild mannered seeming individual

But also, he knows how to use a sword. I don’t know why I gave him one, but I felt like it just fit him. It’s supposed to be thorny with vines and I quite like it but I wonder if I jumped the gun with a thorny sword. Ah well, Rose is like the only thorny Cookie as far as I remember

I don’t really have much else. I feel kind of bad that I have so little to say; I have his vibe in my head but I don’t have specifics to say

But yeah, I hope you still enjoy him
