People are... difficult.

It is, perhaps, possible that spending centuries in near total isolation, speaking only rarely to any other soul, and even then exclusively via proxy or illusion, hath not been kind to what social skills I may have once possessed. Not that I ever possessed many to begin with.

It also does not help that I have, in all likelihood, clinically significant levels of paranoia surrounding other people. My venture into this well-populated town hath been via illusory duplicate, while my real body remaineth hidden away nearby. Even when speaking exclusively to individuals who inhabit realms separate from this one, I cannot bring myself to say where.

In any case, I find that a pokemon like Ornstein, even only one, helpeth to smooth conversation. She is, in universal estimation, quite fetching, and this leadeth many to strike up conversation about any topic whatsoever. I strongly suspect I am perceived as overwhelmingly awkward, due to my speech as well as my partly inhuman appearance.

The inhabitants of Clasriere Town have, however, encouraged me to challenge the local gym and claim a badge. All sayeth that I will have a strong advantage, and merely any eight of the many gyms in Kalos are required to be considered a master.

I suppose I shall continue on, then, and see what Ornstein is capable of.

... Honestly, he didn't even mind the tailing.

Sure, it was an invasion of privacy and all that, but at least she was only following him, and not any of the others.

Plus... It was a little entertaining-

Everytime he noticed she was following her (which was literally every time), he'd always walk up and say hi. It was kinda cute watching her try to come up with some sort of explanation for it.

Honestly looking back, he wished he'd asked her to hang out during all that. He was definitely considering it, using the logic of "Since I clearly know you're stalking me, you might as well keep me company."

Maybe if he had reached out like that... He could've prevented her from feeling so useless back then.

... Ah well. At least things worked out in the end.
