Despite the gravity of the situation, his absolute horror at finding Peter onboard this one-way ride to hell, Tony has to pause at Peter's exclamation. Tony thinks that maybe, once upon a time, and perhaps not even so long ago, he might have reacted like that. 

But since he rode a nuclear bomb through a portal, the cold reaches of outer space only serve to make him shiver, trailing ice and dread down his spine. Which is at least a better reaction than the full-blown anxiety attack he would have been having a couple of years ago. The view outside the ship is breathtaking, stars and gas clouds and galaxies sliding past, a sea of white sparks and inky darkness, bright colours stretching and fading. 

Tony swallows, hand coming to rest on the kid’s shoulder. A long exhale. “Yeah.” He tries to hide the trepidation in his voice. “Yeah, we’re in space.” That's the problem, he doesn’t say. “It's something else, huh?”
