Health Around The World: Western vs Chinese
So, I don’t have the greatest relationship with doctors even in the western world as an American having grown up in USA. But my partner is from the Eastern side of the world. Normally I go to doctors, and find disappointment in the lack of natural solutions, and often answers. Which I still find shocking given how much science and technology we have these days. But, I recently went to a Chinese Doctor and man...that was an interesting comparative experience.
Tumblr media
Western Medicine:
So anyone following my blog knows that I have some chronic conditions, which I have seen some doctors about and have adjusted my lifestyle for-compensating with drugs. But while dealing with infertility, I experienced abdominal/pelvic pain. I checked the pelvis out with an ultrasound, nothing there. Then I went to a Family Doctor and ordered a CT Scan. Did the CT Scan, and their guess is possible IBS, so they want me to adjust diet and see if I feel better.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my doctors these days. But the confines of western medicine limit them greatly. I am down to try a new diet, it is not the first time a doctor has told me what to eat. But it would be nice to not play a guessing game-when by all accounts I am “doing it right” by going to the trusted professional. Look out for a future blog post regarding that.
Eastern Medicine:
So, running errands with my partners family-we end up in a chinese herb shop with an “in house” chinese doctor. He did a reading on my partner, updated his prescription of herbal tea and then did me. He spoke Cantonese, so my Mandarin speaking family translated to English to me.
I had a visit with a chinese doctor, Dr Tan at Wing Hip Fung in Monterey Park. Diagnosis: The doctor looked at my pulse on both hands and visually at my tongue. He said to eat less sweets, work out more, eat better, drink less cold drinks. I ran cold. My kidney is weak and leads to migraine and fertility issues. He picked up on the too much fluid in me. Also the dizziness from my chronic migraines. Also my blocked tubes, if I want to carry a kid I need to do a couple of months of meds. I was told to relax and be happy. I was given stuff to make a soup to eat after the start of my next cycle. I have been dealing with the pelvic/stomach issue with my family doctor and that has yet to discover a cause or cure. My pulse and tongue were read, and I was given a prescription for a soup base. I was seen by the doctor, my prescription was filled at the counter with traditional weight and my price determined with an abacus.
First of all, this guy did not know me from adam. And yet, nothing was wrong. I did not know about the kidneys, but in my head-I thought...shouldn’t the CT Scan or any other test caught that? While I am waiting on the timing to do the soup, I started drinking a Kidney Tea. While I do plan on trying the new diet per the western doctor, they both had something to say about diet. I don’t eat that bad, I do have a sweet tooth. But maybe keto isn’t best for my system, and how can my system be good to me if I am not giving it the right stuff?
Time will tell what works, and what doesn’t. Does the new diet make me feel better? Do I try and carry a kid again and it works? Do I have less symptoms from my chronic migraines on the day to day? Also, I share this to open up anyone elses mind to a secondary opinion from other parts of the world-and yet I wonder if there are bilingual chinese herbal doctors out there...Would you go see one if there was?

Color Symbolism: explained quickly using stones.
Tumblr media
Taken from my reblog of a picture of Robert Sheehan wearing a long necklace full of stones in every color; via @robsclan
Discusses the benefits ascribed to all the colors in the rainbow, and a few that aren’t i.e. gold, brown, black.
Passing clear light thru a prism breaks it into its component colors of the rainbow, roygbiv. Random side note: Stones in these colors turn out to share the same attributes as the chakras. So reading this list is kind of an unexpected two-fer: stones & chakras.
Hey writers! There’s stuff for you below…
Where the chakras are on your body:
Each color matches your chakras, in the same order and everything.
Red: between your legs-basically your perineum // Orange: your sex organs (uterus for women and right where a uterus would be on a man) // Yellow: just below ribs // Green: heart and lungs // Blue: mouth and throat, brain // indigo: third eye-centered just above eyebrows // violet, purple, white, clear: the space in the air just above the top of your head-basically imagine having a halo and that’s your crown chakra.
The takeaway:
Hope this wasn’t boring or pointless. Takeaway: Clear quartz (or a diamond) of any size is the winner on every front universally // tiger eye and turquoise kick ass for business and luck // amethyst opens up your mind // selenite keeps you safe // I like malachite and lapis lazuli together for love and speaking your truth from the heart and head. // For writers: Lapis Lazuli and amethyst together are great for creativity, coming up with ideas, seeing the story in your mind’s eye, etc. If you have writer’s block, wear amethyst and/or clear quartz for inspiration, and maybe a tiger eye for accessing emotions, regaining motivation, success, and luck. // If somebody you don’t like is around and you can still feel it after they’re gone, making you want to shower the minute they left, grab a clear quartz to get rid of the residue in the air from their gross vibe. // Same thing for cleansing a new house and you don’t like burning sage (or can’t because you can’t figure it out, like me). // If you’re an empath, clear quartz cleans your mind of other people’s feelings; obsidian or hematite protects you from other people’s feelings like a shield; rose quartz cheers you up and makes you positive/happy/loving yourself again; selenite traps bad stuff and needs to be on your windowsill pretty frequently for emptying the trapped bad stuff out. Might as well just leave it there.
Hooray for rocks. And rainbows.

I fell on the mountain, here’s how I healed.
I fell on the mountain. I fell on my upper back. I felt beaten up and bruised. This is how I took care of myself.
*this is not medical advice. this is an anecdotal case study on my personal healing.  *pls see your doctor if you are unwell or in crisis
Luckily, there were no serious abrasions. I was with a friend and they ensured I got home safe.
This is how I healed from the fall and the steps I took in chronological order: day one
ibuprofen with a banana and water before bed
bed rest from night until early afternoon
gentle mindful movement flow after waking up
lightened work load
sleep early
day two
woke up early, more water less coffee than usual
integrated mindful movement flow (mobility & yoga mix)
meditate
slightly larger workload
hot shower
mindful movement gentle flow
sleep early
day three
woke up relatively early
mindful movement
massage
hot shower
applied Wu Yang Brand Pain Relieving Medicated Plaster

A Beginner’s Guide to Managing Pain Through Mindfulness - LifeSource By David Knaak
A Beginner’s Guide to Managing Pain Through Mindfulness – LifeSource By David Knaak
For most people, pain can be part of daily life. Pain expresses itself and manifests physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally. Those who live with pain, look for ways to manage it throughout the day — consciously or subconsciously. Emotional pain can be brought on by stressful situations, from the holidays to a relational situation. While physical pain can be brought on by Parkinson’s…

Acupuncture for Back Pain: Relief Beyond the Needles
Preface
Back pain. It's a constant companion for millions, a nagging ache that can steal the joy from everyday activities. If you're one of those millions, you've probably tried everything: pain meds, physical therapy, even that weird yoga pose that looks like a pretzel. Acupuncture, for all its Eastern mystique, is gaining traction in the West as a treatment for chronic back pain. But what about acupuncture? That mysterious practice with the tiny needles?
What is it?
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine practice that involves inserting thin, hair-like needles into specific points on the body called "acupoints." These points are believed to be connected to energy pathways, or meridians, that influence your health. By stimulating these points, practitioners aim to restore balance and flow to your energy, alleviating pain and promoting healing.
Beyond the Needles: The Science of Relief
While the exact mechanisms of acupuncture remain a subject of research, there are a few ways it might work its magic:
Pain relief: Acupuncture may trigger the release of endorphins, your body's natural painkillers. This can help reduce pain sensations and improve mood.
Inflammation reduction: Stimulation of acupoints may also decrease inflammation, a major contributor to back pain.
Improved blood flow: Acupuncture has been shown to increase blood circulation in the treated areas, aiding in healing and pain reduction.
Mind-body connection: The calming and relaxing nature of an acupuncture session can itself have a positive impact on pain perception and stress levels.
Does it work?
The short answer: it depends. Research on acupuncture's effectiveness for back pain is mixed, with some studies showing significant improvement, while others show little to no difference compared to placebo treatments. However, a 2021 review of 22 studies concluded that acupuncture provides short-term relief for chronic back pain and may be more effective than no treatment at all.
Is that treatment right for you?
Acupuncture is generally considered safe for most people, with minimal side effects like mild bruising or soreness at the needle insertion points. However, it's important to consult your doctor before starting any new treatment, especially if you have any underlying health conditions.
Finding relief beyond the needles–
Whether you choose acupuncture or not, there are other things you can do to manage your back pain:
Exercise: Regular physical activity strengthens your core and back muscles, improving stability and reducing pain.
Stretching: Gentle stretches can help improve flexibility and range of motion in your back.
Maintaining good posture: Be mindful throughout the day, especially when sitting and working.
Managing stress: Stress can exacerbate back pain. Find healthy ways to manage stress, such as yoga, meditation, or spending time in nature.
The Takeaway
Acupuncture isn't a magic bullet, but it can be valuable in your back pain management toolkit. If you're open to trying something new and are looking for a holistic approach to pain relief, acupuncture might be worth exploring. Remember, it's important to do your research, choose a qualified practitioner, and work with your doctor to find the best combination of treatments for your individual needs.

Not all vaccines are safe for everyone.
There's 3 things about vaccines most don't admit and why big pharma gets away with the harm they can do.
1-THEY ARE MEDICINE. Not SPECIAL medicine. Not PERFECTED medicine. Not SAFE FOR EVERYONE medicine. Because there is no such thing, ever, as a cure all that is safe for everyone. PERIOD. This is UNDEBATEABLE!
2-You can't sue over them, no matter the adverse effects. If you got sick and died from drink, food, or medicine, YOU HAVE EVERY RIGHT to sue for damages. BUT they made a special law where with vaccines in specific you, on average, can never sue over harm? YOU DON'T FIND THAT WEIRD?!
3-From my parent's generation to the current one, the amount of vaccines have QUADRUPLED! And guess what? For the first time in over 100 years, the current generations are going to live LESS than the previous ones. HOW DID WE FUCK UP HEALTH WITH ALL THIS TECHNOLOGY!? And for the newest vaccines-there's absolutely NO long term testing. Aka, NO PROOF it is safe. They just....did it.
Just fucking put 2 and 2 together. I will NEVER blame vaccines solely for health issues. BUT toxic air, toxic food, toxic water, toxic soil, toxic medicine and overworking ALL together would LOGICALLY slowly (or speedily) kill us.
THINK. Don't be told what to think; critically think for yourself. Before they kill you for profit like they did MILLIONS before you.

The Chakra Approach to Health
Below are the various chakras beginning with the root chakra at the base of your spine and working up toward the top of your head. Energy flows in a vortex from the ground up through your spine and so spiritual growth can be described as the energy flows. Blockages in the energy through any of the chakras will have problematic symptoms.
Root Chakra  Colors: Red and Black Affirmation: I am
Also known as the base chakra, it is the foundation to start building, and aligning the rest of your chakra's. This is the chakra of being and is tied to the earth.  It represents your safety and physical presence. It is your identity.
Chakra Aligned: Signs of this chakra being stable is a peaceful home, physical security, and food and shelter.
Physical symptoms: As the foundation chakra, any and all symptoms can occur as a result of this being out of balance.  More specifically since this chakra refers to your physical safety the symptoms you will experience will be more direct.  Starvation, dehydration, battle wounds, breaks, and bruises are all symptomatic of this chakra being threatened or attacked.
Keep in mind when thinking of the root chakra that it is a foundation. If your physical safety is under threat you are not very concerned about the other chakras for the time being.  Reading, talking, making love, thinking, and meditation are all wasted time when you should be eating, getting out of the way of a train, or drowning. Chakras are always fluid and change all the time.  A perfectly balanced soul is always fluctuating and changing.  Either become more balanced or chaotic.
Once your Root Chakra is in alignment we usually feel the freedom to feel. We naturally start to apply the Sacral Chakra
Sacral Chakra Color: Orange Affirmation: I feel
Sometimes this is not understood well. Since this chakra resides where sexual energy resides, it is very powerful and prone to perversion. Perversion is often related to paths related to spending far too much time playing with this Chakra.  Signs this chakra being aligned would be quality connections with other relationships in your life.  Understanding how you feel about them and setting appropriate boundaries.
Physical symptoms of misalignment: This chakra represents the area of our sexuality. It would not be a surprise that by meddling around with this chakra over time will eventually lead to disease and over-use, or under-use of this region.  STDs and pregnancy complications can occur when this chakra is not aligned.
Once you have balanced your Sacral Chakra you understand how you feel. You know your connections and boundaries with others.  We are motivated by how we feel, and when we feel good we are more productive.  This is the point you will step into the next Chakra
Solar Plexus Chakra
Color: Yellow
Affirmation: I do
This is an action Chakra.  It is pulled by the heart chakra as you find things you love, and find the actions to support them.  Signs this chakra is in effect would be life changes and actions that can direct your life.  It is the powerhouse of your soul.
Physical symptoms of misalignment: When you are overworked, or not feeling the benefit of what you do this can manifest in very real symptoms.  Ulcers and digestive disorders are often symptoms of what we have over done, or not done a lot of.  We may experience warning signs with heartburn, gas, and stomach aches.
Your solar plexus chakra does not act on its own.  It can only grow when it is pulled by the heart chakra and supported firmly on the sacral chakra.
Heart Chakra
Color: Pink or Green (intimate or platonic)
Affirmation: I love
Another chakra that is often misunderstood.  People will sometimes feel they do not feel love when this chakra is less charged than others. Just as every action we ever take is supported because we love something it is firmly rooted over the solar plexus chakra. If you analyze everything everyone does at any point in time you will find love responsible.  Love for family, love for self, love for money, or love for knowledge everyone is motivated by love.  When this chakra is charged the power can be indescribable.
Physical symptoms of misalignment: Heartbreak.  That swelling and tightness we feel in our chest.  Our heart beats more when we feel love and hurts when we lose it. Emptiness in the chest.  Food is tasteless, and deeds are unappreciated.
Throat Chakra
Color: Blue
Affirmation: I speak
This chakra is where you communicate.  You express ideas and feelings through speaking, art, poetry, and music.  You express from the heart chakra.  You will find skill where you find what you love. Articulation is the art of saying what our heart wants us to. This is also the chakra of truth.  We speak what we feel is, or should be true.
Physical symptoms of misalignment: You can't speak, you have a frog in your throat.  You want to say something, but cannot. Stress is a buildup of communication that cannot be released.  This is also your creative chakra.  Art and music manifest here, however, if this chakra is unbalanced creativity falls silent. Feeling oppressed. This chakra is backed by truth.  Seeking truth uncovers lies, apathy, and foolishness causing stress.  Stress usually always manifests first in the neck and shoulders.
Third Eye Chakra
Color: Purple
Affirmation: I see
This would be the equivalent of what we think of as our brain.  It sorts out what is real and what is an illusion through logic, intuition, and experiences.  It is the command post of our ideas and the window we see the world through.  It is where we develop the tools that give meaning to what we do.  It justifies our actions and is constantly attempting to keep on course while syncing with the other chakras.
Physical symptoms of misalignment: Your mind is blown, something you always have thought was suddenly unveiled as an illusion. You feel disoriented, crazy, or desperate. You cannot see things clearly. Confusion and despair may follow.  Can lead to suicide.
Crown Chakra
Color: Clear, white, and opalescent
Affirmation: I know
This is your connection to the divine.  Through this channel, you listen to God and the spirits of others.  It is often intuitive and a culmination of exposure to the rest of the chakras. Praying, meditating, and other spiritual practices will exercise this chakra. This is the chakra that gives us life, hope, and faith. It is the connection to the Divine or God.
Physical symptoms of misalignment: You feel God is not listening, and you feel like everything you have done has been done in waste. You don't feel a connection to other spirits and are alone in despair.  The chakras, although described as a linear path actually leads back to itself.  This chakra must be in alignment as much as the foundation or we completely lose our charge on all levels.
